Toukiden Extreme is an upgraded version of Toukiden: The Age of Demons, featuring three new weapons and a bunch of new monsters. Famitsu have provided a sneak peek of their weekly magazine, which shares a little more on some other new features.
According to the report, a demo for Toukiden Extreme will be available in the very near future, so those of you with Japanese PSN s should be able to give the new weapons a try sooner than expected, although Tecmo Koei have yet to announce a release date for the game.
The Mitama abilities in Toukiden are a set of battle styles and skills that players can attach with spirits onto their weapons. The first game featured eight different Mitama styles from the Attack-type that specialized in damaging foes to the Healing type that helped cure the player and allies.
Toukiden Extreme will bring two new Mitama styles, with “Destruction” and “Devotion”. More details on the new Mitama battle styles will be available once this week’s Famitsu magazine gets published.
Toukiden Extreme will be released on PlayStation Vita and PSP sometime in Japan sometime in 2014.
