During the 2.3 Preview Special Broadcast, Kuro Games announced Wuthering Waves anniversary events and rewards, and now it’s apologized for the offerings on social media. It also announced a event apology and promised to improve when it comes to future game updates. 

Wuthering Waves players ended up being quite upset by the announced anniversary events and rewards, so much so that an Anniversary Megathread on Reddit ended up with over 1,000 upvotes and 677 comments as of 12:15pm ET on April 21, 2025. People brought up how there were no free characters, no adjusted pity rates on banners that still have a standard 50/50 rate, and less than 40 free pulls being given away.

In the apology, Kuro games said it would keep in mind the for future updates and rewards after the Wuthering Waves anniversary event in 2.3. It also announced an apology event. That will start the week of April 21, 2025, and it will include 10 Radiant Tides for featured Resonator banners, 10 Forging Tides for featured weapons banners, and 10 Lustrous Tides for the Beginner’s Choice, Tidal Chorus, and Winter Brume banners.

As a reminder, here’s some of what Kuro Games first revealed when it brought up the Wuthering Waves anniversary events and rewards.

• Anniversary Resonator Convene Banners, with the Phase 1 one including Jiyan, Phoebe, Xiangli Yao, Yinlin, and Zhezi, and the Phase 2 one offering Brant, Carlotta, Changli, Jinhsi, and Roccia. Featured weapons for all Resonators appear alongside them on Anniversary Weapon Convene banners in phase 1 and 2.  
• Cube, Cubic n Cubie Anniversary Combat Event
• Cubie Derby Warmup with 10 Radiant Tides, a Chest Mimic Phantom skin, and Glider skin.
• Gifts of Grand Celebration with 10 Radiant Tides and an avatar.
• Gifts of Grand Union campaign that included 5 Radiant Tides and 5 Lustrous Tides
• Gifts of Melodic Verses campaign with Shell Credits and 300 Astrites.

The company also confirmed a Cyberpunk: Edgerunners collaboration and event for 2026.

Wuthering Waves is available on the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the 3.2 update arrives on April 29, 2025.

Wuthering Waves, which is available as a direct or via Epic Games Store for PC players, will appear on Steam as well. It’ll come out on April 28, 2025.

You will be able to to your Kuro Games and link it with Steam, so you won’t lose any progress. Valve has not yet confirmed whether Wuthering Waves will have Steam Deck compatibility, which might be one of the biggest draws for a PC player to move over to the Steam version. The banner for the game features Carlotta, who’s a key character in the Rinascita storyline. You can also watch the TGA 2024 promotion video, as well as the trailer for Version 2.2: Tangled Truth in Inverted Tower.

Version 2.2 will be the newest patch for Wuthering Waves, and you can watch the preview broadcast for it here:

In Version 2.2, you’ll be able to explore the inverted and mid-air region known as Avinoleum, where you will uncover Rinascita’s past and secrets. Avinoleum will introduce a new gravity mechanic, in which you manipulate it to access new areas. Playing through this quest can net you the Bloodpact’s Pledge 5-star Sword for free. New Resonators for the patch are Cantarella and Rover: Aero. Cantarella is a Havoc Rectifier Resonator who can and heal allies, while hindering enemy movement.

Kuro Games has released the key visual for Cantarella, a new 5-star character who’ll appear in Wuthering Waves. She’ll be a limited character and make her debut in Version 2.2.

The drip marketing for Cantarella in Wuthering Waves only shows her pull art and her rarity. Kuro Games announced in a new post that she'll be a Havoc Rectifier character. Jellyfish feature heavily in Cantarella’s visuals. They appear around her in her pull art, and both her outfit and parasol are reminiscent of the underwater creature.

Cantarella is the thirty-sixth head of the Fisalia family in Rinascita, and she also refers to herself as the Bane. In her character description, it states that “dark tides seem to surge and swirl” when you look into her eyes. However, you can’t grasp the true form of the shadow you glimpse in them.

Currently, the Wuthering Waves banner features Phoebe, who is a 5-star Spectro Recticfier Resonator. Her banner first appeared on February 13, 2025, which was the start of Version 2.1. Brant, who’ll be a 5-star Fusion Sword character, will come out in the second half of the patch.

Kuro Games revealed what players can expect from version 2.1 of Wuthering Waves, as it shared the release date and new content coming up. The latest update to the game will be released on February 13, 2025.

The first of the characters added to the Version 2.1 banners for Wuthering Waves include the five-star character Phoebe, and that banner includes increased chances of getting the four-star characters Lumi, Chixia and Aalto. From March 6, 2025, these banners will change offer two five-star characters, with both Brant and Changli available starting that day. Brant is a new character, while Changli is returning from her previous banner appearance in Version 1.1. The returning four-star characters available with both of them will be Youhu, Taoqi and Mortefi. Brant’s introduction will also come with the new “Sail Day, Captain!” Companion Story.

The new content in Version 2.1 will focus heavily on a new area, the Riccioli Islands. Due to the island theming, this location will be home to a new fishing minigame, which will be the focus of the Old Man and the Whale event. This will see players sailing around in a gondola catching various species of fish in exchange for rewards.

As well as all this content, the Version 2.1 update will also add ray tracing to the PC version of Wuthering Waves, for those whose setup will it. It will mainly be focused for those with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 graphics card or higher.

Wuthering Waves is out now for PC, PS5 and mobile devices, and the release date for 2.1 is February 13, 2025.

Kuro Games announced that fully integrated Ray Tracing is coming to Wuthering Waves alongside the version 2.1 update on February 13, 2025. The reveal came during the 2.1 Preview Special Broadcast, which included a comparison video reveal that shows the graphical improvements on the game's Youtube channel.

Currently, the Ray Tracing options require at least a Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 series graphics card in order to run, however Kuro Games said the team is "committed to ongoing optimization" and hopes to make the feature available to those with other graphics cards too. Alongside the new graphics options, Version 2.1 is also set to bring new characters, zones, story, and even a fishing minigame to Wuthering Waves. The game is also set to come to Mac OS devices in late March 2025, after arriving on PS5 this January.

The previous version 2.0 update released earlier in 2025 after being previewed in its own livestream back in December 2024. That same update also brought the game to Playstation 5 consoles.

Kuro Games listed the events, such as a free Astrites giveaway, that we can expect to see in Wuthering Waves for the latter half of Version 2.0. These includes events, the aforementioned currency giveaway, and a new companion quest.

You can read the 2.0 update details via the official Wuthering Waves website. For starters, Roccia and Jinhsi will appear in the gacha for a limited time. The 4-stars on rate-up for their banners will be Danjin, Youhu, and Yuanwu. Roccia is a new 5-star Havoc Gauntlets character, and is a character from the new region of Rinascita. Meanwhile, Jinhsi is a re-run, and she is a 5-star Spectro Broadblade unit. Their signature weapons—Tragicomedy and Ages of Harvest—will be in the gacha for a limited time as well.

As for new events, Roccia’s character quest will become a permanent feature in the game after the new patch goes live. In order to play it, you’ll need to first reach Union Level 20 and complete the Main Quest Chapter II Act III. Until Version 2.0 ends on February 13, 2025, you can also every day for prizes. Completing the Dances For Spring’s Return event will give you prizes like Crystal Solvents, Tuners, and the Exorcistic Adjuration outfit for Sanhua.

Meanwhile, the Celebration Aftertunes event will give you a total of 1,600 free Astrites over the course of three days in Wuthering Waves. You will need to claim these from your in-game mail.

Wuthering Waves is readily available on the PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. The second half of Version 2.0 will go live in Wuthering Waves from January 23, 2025.

The Wuthering Waves Version 2.0 Special Broadcast now has an official air date. The broadcast will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch on at 3am PT/6am ET December 21, 2024.

The Special Broadcast will provide a deep dive into what players can expect out of Wuthering Waves Version 2.0. This update will introduce the new region of Rinascita, and the Special Broadcast will likely show off some of the locations that can be found in this area. The Broadcast is also likely to contain information on the many new characters who will be ing the game as part of the update. These characters include Phoebe, Brant, Roccia, Zani and Carlotta, who have been previously revealed although their kits have yet to be announced.

Version 2.0 of Wuthering Waves will release on January 2, 2025. A PS5 version of the game has been confirmed to release on the same day. The Special Broadcast is likely to detail any crossplay features between the PS5 and other platforms.

Kuro Games first announced that a PS5 version of Wuthering Waves is in development back in July 2024. At the time, there wasn’t a lot of information about when it would come out or what it would be like. According to the new announcement, save progress will be synced across all platforms. This means that you can start right from where you stopped when you pick up the PS5 version.

Version 2.0 will introduce Rinascita, a new explorable region, as well as some new characters. The official Wuthering Waves X (formerly known as Twitter) has released the splash art of these characters, though we don’t know much about their kits or personalities yet. New characters who’ll appear in Version 2.0 include Phoebe, Brant, Roccia, Zani, and Carlotta. More information on them will appear later on via the official social media channels.

Wuthering Waves is readily available on the Windows PC and mobile devices. The PS5 version of Wuthering Waves will come out on January 2, 2025, which is the same date that Version 2.0 will go live.

Google has published the Japanese version of its Best of 2024 awards. Bandai Namco's Hatsuboshi Gakuen: The Idolmaster has particularly won the Best Game award in the country's version of the annual awards that give rewards to notable games available on Android mobile devices.

This award also served as a testament to Gakuen Idolmaster's success. Sensor Tower Japan noted that the game topped the amount rankings on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store in Japan in a full month following its release on May 16, 2024.

Google has also published a list of games that win other awards. The list of winners is as follows:

• Best Multi-Device Game: Pokemon Sleep
• Best Multiplayer Game: Squad Busters
• Best Pick-Up-and-Play Game: Monster Hunter Puzzles: Felyne Isles
• Best Indie Game: Suika Game

Hatsuboshi Gakuen: The Idolmaster, the winner of the Best Game award in Google Play Japan's Best of 2024, is also available on iOS in addition to Android mobile devices in Japan.

Kuro Game announced the release date for the next Wuthering Waves patch, as well as revealed the characters debuting in 1.4. It will launch on November 14, 2024. When it does, Camellya and Lumi will Wuthering Waves as its new Resonators.

As expected from a new update, When the Night Knocks will bring with it a new addition to the story. However, as brought up in the preview and announcement, there will be more to it than that. After the 1.4 release date arrives, Wuthering Waves will also get a Somnium Labyrinth event, five-star Camellya Resonator banner, five-star Red Spring sword weapon banner, Phantom: Inferno Rider Echo, and Forking Path Among the Stars Companion Story. Some of the other events coming include a Gifts of Fleeting Dreams campaign, Depths of Illusive Realm Phantasm Amass, Beyond the Waves Exploration Event, Tactical Simulacra II Combat Event, Ragunna Sales Blitz Pioneer Association Event, and Pincer Maneuver Warriors Combat Event.

As for Lumi, you’ll need to wait to see her in Wuthering Waves. She’s part of phase 2 of 1.4. She’s only a four-star unit, so she’ll be a part of the returning Yinlin rerun banner in the second half.

Jiyan is having his first re-run in Wuthering Waves and his banner will last until November 13, 2024. The 4-stars on rate-up alongside him are Youhu, Sanhua, and Mortefi.

Jiyan was the first 5-star character available in Wuthering Waves after the game launched in late May 2024. He is a 5-star Aero Resonator who wields Broadblades in battle, and would fill the DPS niche in your party. As a character, Jiyan is the general of the Midnight Rangers and was once a medic before he became a soldier for Jinzhou. His weapon, Verdant Summit, is also available for a limited time.

Here is a Midnight Podcast episode for Jiyan, in which you can get a better idea of his personality for those who haven’t completed the Jinzhou storyline:

Youhu is a new character and she’s a Glacio Mutant Resonator. She’s permanently available in the standard banner as of Version 1.4, and you can also get her in the Afterglow Coral Store for 80 Afterglow Corals. You can only purchase her once and if you already got Youhu from the Jiyan re-run banner in Wuthering Waves, then you’ll simply receive Youhu’s Waveband. After Version 1.4, she will no longer be in the store, so if you want her but don’t want to risk pulling, then you can use Afterglow Corals to guarantee her addition to your roster.

Kuro Game announced it will release a figure of the Wuthering Waves Shorekeeper. She will debut in August 2025, and the developer already confirmed she will launch worldwide for about $65. However, AmiAmi is the only storefront currently showing her and listing the correct price for the item. 

Shorekeeper first debuted in Wuthering Waves as a playable Resonator in September 2024. She’s a five-star Spectro character who uses a Rectifier to attack. In-battle, she’s known for her ability to heal with both Chaos Theory and End Loop, and  there is a butterfly motif to her due to the Dim Star Butterflies she can summon with her skill. This is also shown in her figure, as a single butterfly is perched on her figure.

The figure of her is a 1/7th scale one. It stands at almost 11 inches tall (278mm). At select stores, such as AmiAmi, someone also gets an acrylic keychain of the the character with their purchase.

She isn’t the only Wuthering Waves figure to appear. There’s one of Jiyan promised as well. Kuro is also working on other items based on the game. There will be pins, postcards, and different kinds of acrylic stands released over the coming weeks and months.

Kuro Game announced full details about the Wuthering Waves By Moon’s Grace event, detailing all of the rewards people will get in addition to the previously revealed Xiangli Yao. Among them will be 1,200 Astrite, which is just under the 1,600 you’d need to purchase a 10-pull on the gacha. 

To take part in Wuthering Waves By Moon’s Grace, you need to be caught up with the story. This means you must have your Union Level at a minimum of 17. It is possible to start it if you finished Chapter 1, Act 3, but Kuro Game recommended also getting through up to Act 7 for story purposes. 

Once you unlock the event, your goal is to get funds for Moonlit Fair Stalls. Some of the ones featured in the announcement are Hsin’s Fortuity, Riddle Twiddle, and Thus Says the Moon. Once you have them built, you can use Preparation Credits and Moments with characters from the Festival Journal to fulfill Wishes. Some of the confirmed Festival Journal Moments involve Chixia, Sanhua, and Zhezhi. You can then set those people for Route Planning and achieving those Wishes. This nets you Wish Tags for companions.

As for the Wuthering Waves By Moon’s Grace event rewards, here are the things you can get:

• Astrite x 1,200

Kuro Games has released a Wuthering Waves lore primer for the Moon-Chasing Festival, which takes place in Jinzhou. The event will feature as the backdrop for the By Moon's Grace event set to arrive sometime after Update 1.2.

It started by going over the origins of the festival, which involved one Sentinel challenging another to a moonlit chase. It went on to explain some of the stalls of the Moonlit Fair, the like of which the Rover will have to manage in the By Moon's Grace event. These stalls include the Moontree Lodge, where wishes are written down and hung on a large tree, and another where paper fans are decorated by poets and artists. There is also Yumyum Haven, which sells local sweets like Plumpcake, and a Puppet Theatre for children. The explanations of these stalls are accompanied by comments from various Wuthering Waves characters, along with a little chibi representations of them.

Earlier this week, Kuro Games announced that Update 1.2 for Wuthering Waves would launch on August 15, 2024. The company went on to confirm Xingli Yao, a new five-star Resonator, will be available for all players to earn for free by participating in the By Moon's Grace event when it starts in September 2024.

Wuthering Waves is immediately available for PC and mobile devices, while the Moon-Chasing Festival and By Moon's Grace event will appear sometime after Update 1.2 on August 15, 2024.

Kuro Game announced on social media that every Wuthering Waves player can get the five-star Resonator Xiangli Yao for free, provided they participate in a new event. He’ll be able to earn starting on September 7, 2024. 

Here’s how the promotion will work. The By Moon’s Grace event will appear after the Wuthering Waves update, and if we play through it we earn the Resonator Xiangli Yao as a bonus. Like similar events in other gacha games, you get Popularity. When you hit a certain tier, which Kuro didn’t disclose yet, you get to claim the character.

In addition to being free, people will be able to pull for Xiangli Yao on one of the new banners in Wuthering Waves 1.2. He’s an Electro element character who uses Gauntlets to attack enemies. His reveal also noted he’s an investigator at Huaxu Academy. It seems he'll be a part of the second banner in the update. The other new five-star this update will be Zhezhi.

The latest trailer for the 1.2 update showed off some Xiangli Yao gameplay. If you skip ahead to the 1:20 mark, you can see how he'll work in a fight.
