Another ryokutya2089 leak suggested when another Shonen Jump anime series will return. Season 3 of the Spy x Family anime will apparently start airing in October 2025. The second season ended partway through the WISE Arc, which means the third season will continue from that. Most likely, it will also cover the Friendship Schemes Arc and the Red Circus Arc. In of the manga, the show ended some time in Mission 60. So if you’re curious about what event you’ll see when the anime starts up again, you can check it out from there.

Spy x Family is a popular anime and manga series about a spy who puts together a fake family to complete a mission. Unbeknownst to him, his wife is an assassin, who’s unaware of who her fake husband is. Their daughter is a telepath who’s aware of her fake parents’ true identities, but keeps silent because she thinks it’s cool. There is an overarching plot in the story, mostly focusing on protagonist Loid’s spy missions, but there are also plenty of slice of life moments that focus on the Forger family as well.

The Spy x Family anime is available on streaming services like Crunchyroll. Season 3 of Spy x Family will start airing in October 2025. Viz Media handles the manga outside Japan.

Twin Engine has released a special music video for My Deer Friend Nokotan, featuring the full version of “Shikairo Days.” You can watch the video via its official YouTube channel.

The music video starts with the main characters (and some realistic-looking deer) dancing to the viral opening bit of the song. It then shows short clips from the show, with the lyrics appearing over them. Considering the music video uses material from the show, it may not come as a surprise that it has the same-fast paced ridiculousness as the actual episodes.

My Deer Friend Nokotan is a comedic slice-of-life manga and anime series that follows Torako Koshi (Koshitan), a former delinquent who puts on the facade of an honors student. However, transfer student Nokotan turns her life upside down. Not only is she some sort of bizarre deer-girl hybrid creature, but she often gets into chaotic situations. Koshitan has to struggle to not only hold onto her mask as the perfect student, but also keep her sanity from crumbling under the sheer ridiculousness.

The anime (from Wit Studio) will end on September 22, 2024, and there will be twelve episodes total. To promote this, a truck featuring Nokotan went around Japan (namely Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Ikebukuro) for people to look at or take pictures with. The truck’s last day was on September 18, 2024 and its final stop was Shinjuku.

My Deer Friend Nokotan is available for streaming on Crunchyroll. As for the manga, Seven Seas Entertainment licensed it for an English audience.

From September 13 to 18, 2024, you might be able to catch a deermobile that’s driving around Japan to promote My Deer Friend Nokotan. The truck will run from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM throughout Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Ikebukuro.

Here’s the schedule for when you can catch the Nokotan deermobile:

The name of the car in Japan is shicar. “Car” in Japanese does not have the hard R sound, which makes it sound like “ka.” The word for “deer” in Japanese is “shika,” so the pronunciation is closer to “shikaa.” As for the design of the car, it’s a truck that has a realistic-looking deer on one side and Nokotan on the other. Between “Club Deer” and the glittery aesthetic, it seems to be riffing off ments for host clubs.

Hololive Vtuber released a new music video for “Go-Getters,” the ending theme song for the anime Suicide Squad: Isekai, and Wit Studio return for it. She also debuted her new “rock and roll” new outfit in a stream on September 5, 2024. 

The actual end credits for the Suicide Squad: Isekai anime featured the Calliope Mori song, but the Hololive Vtuber didn’t appear in it. Only the DC comics characters like Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Peacemaker, King Shark, Clayface, and Amanda Waller showed up in it. The new music video stars Calliope and Harley. It cuts back and forth to both perspectives as both interact, fight, and dance along with the track.

In addition to Suicide Squad: Isekai, Wit Studio is known for anime series like Attack on Titan, Ranking of Kings, Spy x Family, and the recent show My Deer Friend Nokotan. The company also worked on the cutscenes for the recent Persona 3 Reload remake for Atlus, including for the Episode Aigis DLC expansion debuting in September 2024.

As for the new outfit, it features her in a rock star outfit with oversized coat she can remove, optional rabbit ears, and an optional guitar shaped like a scythe. At the 38 minute mark of the stream embedded below, we can start to see the reveal of her new look. She then goes on to show some of the additional options available with it.

The “Go-Getters” song is also available on Calliope Mori’s latest album Phantomime, which released in August 2024. The standard version and a bonus track one with Yoon appear on the CD.

Cover announced that the new song from Hololive Vtuber Houshou Marine, called “Dead Ma’am’s Chest,” was written by Toby Fox and Camellia. The Undertale creator worked on the music, while Camellia handled the arrangement and lyrics. The track will also appear on her first album called Ahoy!! You’re All Pirates, which will launch on October 16, 2024 in Japan. 

The music video for the Houshou Marine Toby Fox song is also live, with Wit Studio handling the animation for “Dead Ma’am’s Chest.” That studio also worked on Spy x Family, Suicide Squad Isekai, and some Pokemon anime adaptations. If someone turns on closed captions, an official English translation for the lyrics is available. A karaoke option is also present.

In honor of her 2024 birthday celebration on July 30, 2024, Houshou Marine also performed a 3D live. During it, she performed alongside fellow Hololive Vtubers like Kobo Kanaeru, Shiranui Flare, Shirogane Noel, and Usada Pekora. HIMEHINA, Pmaru-sama, and Reol also appeared.

As for that first Houshou Marine album, the Ahoy!! You’re All Pirates limited edition and 10 of its 14 songs were revealed. The four unrevealed ones seem to be the four entirely new songs. The $81 limited edition includes the CD and Blu-ray, a poster lyric card, a PR card for the Hololive Official Card Game, and an acrylic stand of the Vtuber based on the cover art for the album.

A Journey Through Another World centers on Takumi, who, of course, dies and resurrects in a fantasy world. Early in his adventure he finds orphaned twins and takes them in as their new guardian.

This series then follows Takumi as he goes on guild jobs to raise money to take care of his newfound fantasy family. It is so cute, with some great interactions between the main characters. But it also contains the signature fantasy action and adventures this genre is known for.

More of the Spy x Family anime is on the way, as season 3 of the show was just announced. The reveal appeared on the social media for the series, and there’s also a new piece of key art that features Anya front-and-center.

Here’s the piece of Spy x Family season 3 key art. That appeared in the official reveal for the anime. It features Anya sleeping on Bond. A number of lights surround her, so they look like they are napping in the middle of a star. The door to the room is being opened, and we can see the feet of someone about to come inside. 

There is no release window yet for the latest run of the show.

This announcement follows two other media projects. The Spy x Family Code: White movie launched worldwide. The Spy x Anya game also launched in Japan and is set to debut globally in June 2024. 

Season 3 of the Spy x Family anime is in the works. Seasons 1-2 are now streaming on Crunchyroll. Viz Media handles the manga outside of Japan. The Spy x Anya: Operation Memories game will debut on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC outside Japan on June 27, 2024.

A new trailer has come out for Suicide Squad Isekai, as well as a release date. It’ll start airing on July 5, 2024. [Thanks, Comic Natalie!]

You’ll be able to catch it on broadcast TV in Japan. Some of the streaming services it’ll appear on include Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, and Google TV. However, it’s unclear as to which service has the rights to stream it outside of Japan.

In the trailer, we can see that scenes take place in both the DC universe and in the fantasy-like isekai they go to for their mission. They only have a time limit of 72 hours. Unless they return to their original world within that time frame, the nano bombs inside of them will explode and kill them. The roster of the Suicide Squad in Suicide Squad Isekai consist of Harley Quinn, The Joker, Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface, King Shark, Katana, and Rick Flag.

Tomoyasu Hotel will sing the opening and Mori Calliope of hololive will perform the ending. Naoto Hosoda worked on the character designs using drafts from Akira Amano. Amano is a manga artist known for her work on Katekyo Hitman Reborn and Psycho-. Eri Osada, who worked on Zetsuen no Tempest and Jujutsu Kaisen as a storyboard artist and animation director, is the main director for this show.

Suicide Squad Isekai will start airing on July 5, 2024.

The official DC X (Twitter) has shared a clip of Peacemaker in Suicide Squad Isekai. Veteran voice actor Takehito Koyasu will voice the popular DC character.

The new clip is under 30 seconds long, and it shows Peacemaker fighting and torturing people. It also shows his merciless and cruel personality. You can watch the preview clip that was posted on X right here:

Koyasu Takehito is Peacemaker's voice actor in the Japanese version of the show. He is a famous and prominent voice actor who debuted in 1987. Since then, he’s played many well-known characters such as Dio Brando/DIO in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Snufkin in Moomin, Toji in Jujutsu Kaisen, Milliardo/Zechs in Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, Ozymandias in Fate/Grand Order, and Eddie/Zato-1 in Guilty Gear. This is only a small sample of Koyasu’s colorful career.

Meanwhile, Peacemaker has become a somewhat more familiar character from the DC universe thanks to the Peacemaker show and his appearance in The Suicide Squad. The character debuted in 1966, and it’s likely that the Suicide Squad Isekai anime will use the Christopher Smith incarnation of Peacemaker. This is due to this version of Peacemaker’s affiliation with the Suicide Squad. Peacemaker is a very good fighter, assassin, spy, and marksman.

Suicide Squad Isekai will start airing in July 2024.

Ever since the release of the first season of Spy x Family, I have known that it has the winning formula. Its memorable cast, witty and fast-paced writing, and hilarious animation direction all works so well. The latest entry in the series, Spy x Family Code: White, is a roughly two-hour spin-off movie that takes all of those elements and kicks them up to the max.

The Spy x Family movie begins with a simple assignment at Anya’s school to create a dessert for a project, but it soon snowballs into a winter holiday weekend trip for the Forger family. Their trip to the snowy town of Frigis is a picturesque setting and a solid departure from the usual locales fans see in the core series.

Without going into spoilers too much, Spy x Family Code: White is essentially just an adorable side story. It has no major bearings on the actual core plot of the series. That said, it carries all of the wit, charm, and humor of the main series, and I would say it even lands better in some places. Where it stumbles a bit comes as a result of the lengthy runtime for the movie. A lot of times, spin-off anime movies like this will go for only 90 minutes or sometimes even less in some cases. However, this Spy x Family movie almost clocks in at two hours, which I feel is about an hour longer than it needs to be. Outside of its bombastic finale, the film feels like it could’ve been two episodes in the series and that’s it.

Surprisingly, the efforts made to lengthen the wacky adventure don’t hurt the move that much. The pacing is generally pretty good, even when not a lot is happening. Moments like a whole side competition at a restaurant early in the film don't overstay their welcome. This is due to the constantly funny jokes and moments involving the Forger family.

Though Spy x Family Code White looks almost identical to the series, in in animation quality, it does justify its big screen moments. There are a couple of sequences, without spoiling too much, where the animators really flexed their skills. These moments even changed up the animation style briefly in some extraordinary ways. Wit Studio and CloverWork, which also worked on the first season of the series, really go all-in on making this an elaborate experience.

But perhaps the most impressive part about the visual quality of this film comes from the action segments. The various setpieces and segments are far more active than ones I became used to seeing in the Spy x Family anime series, and the movie all the better for it. Two of the latter fights, in particular, honestly rival some of the great action anime out there right now. The general effects, rich color palettes, and fascinating character designs help to add to the experience and make it more memorable.

Even though this is a spin-off movie, it doesn’t feel too much like filler for Spy x Family. Instead, the story makes full use of the Forger family in some fun ways. Anya is at her peak in of comedic gags and ridiculous facial expressions. Meanwhile, Yor has some of her best action segments in the series to date. Naturally, Loid continues to be the calculated anchor for the family. Even Bond the dog gets some standout moments in the spotlight.

Spy x Family Code White is the type of movie that doesn’t move the overarching plot forward. However, it doesn’t really need to. The intense and surprising action goes far beyond expectations. Meanwhile, the comedic scenes and writing is at its peak for the series. Even for a side adventure, and a lengthy one at that, this is the type of movie to watch as we wait patiently for the series to continue.

Warner Bros revealed that the ending theme song for the Suicide Squad Isekai anime will be sung by Hololive Vtuber Calliope Mori. A music video featuring footage from the show has also appeared on Youtube.

The song was composed by Giga and Teddyloid. Calliope Mori, who is signed to Universal Music, wrote the lyrics alongside Yuki Tsujimura. As well as releasing many of her own songs and covers, Mori has also produced songs in collaboration with the Metal Gear Solid game series and One Piece manga. She also streams on Youtube as part of the Hololive Vtuber agency's first English language generation, Hololive English Myth.

The Suicide Squad Isekai anime was first announced last year at Anime Expo 2023 along with an official website, though it now redirects to the main DC Comics site. Then in December, 2023, a new trailer aired focusing on Harley Quinn and the Joker as well as showcasing the opening theme: Another World by Tomoyasu Hotei.

Netflix announced that they will be producing an all-new anime remake of the One Piece manga series titled The One Piece. The new anime adaption will be animated by WIT Studio, best known for their work on Spy x Family, Attack on Titan, and The Ancient Magus' Bride.

The One Piece anime remake will start from the East Blue saga, retelling the start of Monkey D. Luffy's journey of becoming a pirate and gathering his crew. This new adaption is being made in collaboration with Shueisha, Toei Animation, Fuji Television, Netflix, and Wit Studio. The announcement of The One Piece also comes as a celebration of the One Piece series as it reaches its 25th anniversary in 2024.

There has been no announcement on how long the One Piece anime remake will run or what events it will cover after the East Blue saga. There was also no announcement of when The One Piece will release on Netflix.

The original anime adaption of the East Blue saga first aired from 1999 to 2001 and was produced by Toei Animation. The One Piece anime by Toei Animation is currently on Season 21 which covers the Egghead arc in the manga. It is currently airing in Japan on Fuji Television with an English simulcast by Crunchyroll.

The first season of the live-action adaption of One Piece is available to watch on Netflix, and season 2 is currently in development. The original anime is available on both Crunchyroll and Netflix.

The final episode of the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet anime series Paldean Winds, titled "Breathe Together", is now live and viewable on the Official Pokemon Youtube Channel. The series was produced by Wit Studio and was first announced back in August, 2023, with the first episode appearing in September and the second in October.

This episode begins with a segment showing off the Paldean countryside and other scenes set to accompanying music, before transitioning to a performance by Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Ghost-type gym leader Ryme. After that comes a segment when Electric-type leader Iono streams her attempt to name all Paldean gym leaders within a minute, before another musical section. Finally, the anime closes with a scene of the characters Aliquis, Ohara, and Hohma reacting to the success of the video they produced through the series.

"Breathe Together" is the fourth and final episode of the series, coming after "Breathe Out," "Breathe In," and "Take a Breath." The episodes follow the story of three students at Naranja Academy: Aliquis, Ohara, and Hohma. They are tasked with creating a video showcasing the school they attend. Studio Wit, who produced the animation, also created the previous Pokemon miniseries Hisuian Snow.

The Pokemon Company also recently released a trailer for the Scarlet and Violet DLC pack, titled The Indigo Disk. The DLC is set to become available on December 14, 2023. The company also announced a collaboration with Japanese amusement park Yomiuriland to produce a Pokemon themed zone called Pokepark Kanto.

The final episode of the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet anime series Paldean Winds is available to watch on the Official Pokemon Youtube channel, as are the other episodes of the series. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now for Nintendo Switch.

Joker is not part of the line-up, but he’s a major character nonetheless. For reasons unknown, Waller sends the Suicide Squad to an isekai that is a classic fantasy world with magic, orcs, and dragons.

Yamaguchi and Nagase are fairly new voice actors, especially in comparison to veterans such as Fukuyama and Koyasu. Since the plot of the anime is so separate from existing DC Comics lore, people can likely watch it without knowing anything about DC comics or the series.

Warner Bros Japan and Wit Studio will announce some more information on the Suicide Squad Isekai anime. The companies plan on holding a reveal stream on December 1, 2023, and you can watch it via Warner Bros Anime Japan’s YouTube channel. [Thanks, Dengeki Online!]

The reveal stream will only last about ten minutes and will start at 7:00 PM in Japan. That means it would be 2:00 AM PT/5:00 AM ET on December 1, 2023. Takehito Koyasu will narrate the stream. Koyasu is a prominent voice actor in the industry. Some famous roles include Toji from Jujutsu Kaisen, Jade from Tales of the Abyss, and Dio Brando/DIO from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.

About four months ago, Warner Bros ed a teaser trailer for Suicide Squad Isekai. In it, you could see how the anime versions of Joker, Harley Quinn, and Amanda Waller look. It’s unknown if the anime version of Suicide Squad will use the same cast of characters from DC’s live-action movies or if it will integrate some characters from other mediums. For example, Killer Frost was not in the live-action films. However, two different characters who operated as Killer Frost were Suicide Squad .

A reveal stream for Suicide Squad Isekai will be available on December 1, 2023. That will likely be when we learn where it’ll be streaming, release date, and cast.
