In an interview from Shueisha, mangaka Aka Akasaka stated that he planned the ending for Oshi no Ko from the start of serialization. Unfortunately, fans have not been too happy about how the hit manga series ended.

Akasaka stated that while he had thought of the ending for Oshi no Ko when he started drawing it, he also “allowed” for the characters to breathe. He stated that his experience on Love Is War changed him. Instead of planning out everything, he occasionally changed the story to incorporate new subplots or make certain characters more important. Mem-cho, for example, was supposed to be far less important than she ended up being.

Akasaka considers these unexpected changes part of the character’s personality, and he wanted to become an author who could love and appreciate that. So while he decided on how Oshi no Ko would end, he wanted to draw the manga as a series that treats the characters well. Writers may be familiar with this sensation of a story or characters seemingly taking on a life of their own.

There are many reasons as to why online reactions to the Oshi no Ko ending has been largely negative. Some have stated that it feels rushed and that a lot of plot threads were just abandoned. This second criticism might stem from Akasaka sticking to a planned ending after pantsing character-driven subplots. Others have stated that the ending doesn’t seem congruent with established themes and characterizations, especially revolving around Ruby.

Now that he’s done with Oshi no Ko, Akasaka plans on taking a brief break and focusing on his life. He mentioned that he wants to work on a farm for a bit. His new manga will be a fantasy manga in Weekly Young Jump and it’ll start serialization in Spring 2025.

With the release date for the final Oshi no Ko manga chapter approaching, Weekly Young Jump magazine will reportedly include various special features offering new details of the manga series in commemoration of its conclusion. The last chapter of the Oshi no Ko manga series will be chapter 166, which will appear on issue 50 of the Weekly Young Jump magazine on November 14, 2024. Leaker ryokutya2089 revealed that Oshi no Ko will be featured on the cover of the magazine for its final chapter.

Additionally, the magazine will include an alternate replaceable cover to celebrate the finale. There will be two special supplements with details and information on the Oshi no Ko series featured too. Furthermore, the final Oshi no Ko chapter will feature an opening full color page as well. We learned that the series will will be ending of Oshi no Ko on October 10, 2024, with four chapters remaining at the time of that announcement.

The Oshi no Ko manga will end with the release of chapter 166 on issue 50 of the Weekly Young Jump magazine coming out November 14, 2024. The final manga volume will release in Japan on December 18, 2024. The Oshi no Ko anime is available via streaming services like HIDIVE. Season 3 of the anime is currenly in production, and Yen Press handles the English localization of the manga outside of Japan.

In four more chapters, the Oshi no Ko manga will end. The last chapter will be on November 14, 2024 and it’ll be in the 150th issue of Weekly Young Jump.

From Issue #147, which will come out on October 24, 2024, Oshi no Ko will come out every week until the end. The final volume of the series, Volume 16, will come out on December 18, 2024 as well. To commemorate this, there will be a campaign to celebrate the end of the series. This campaign includes a special edition of Volume 16, which will come with a book stand, a sticker, and an alternate cover. There will also be an eternal Ai fan keyholder for sale, which will resemble the one in the series itself. Finally, there will be a weekly countdown via the official X (formerly known as Twitter) for the manga. There may be more to come in this campaign, so more details may appear in the future.

Oshi no Ko is a highly popular anime and manga series written by Aka Akasaka, whose previous series Kaguya-sama: Love Is War was also very popular. The story follows twins Aqua and Ruby Hoshino, who are actually reincarnations of a doctor and his patient. They were reborn as the children of their favorite idol Ai Hoshino. After a crazy fan murders Ai, the two of them enter the entertainment industry for their own reasons.

Oshi no Ko will end on November 14, 2024, with the final volume to come out on December 18, 2024. You can watch Oshi no Ko via streaming services like HIDIVE. Doga Kobo announced that season 3 is in production. Yen Press licensed the series for English.

One Punch Man has returned from hiatus with Chapter 247. You can read it via Tonari no Young Jump’s website.

The chapter is quite short and focuses on Suiryu. After an encounter with Webigaza, Suiryu decides to apply for the Neo Heroes organization instead. However, he obliterates a very expensive suit that the Neo Heroes give him. Thus, Suiryu has to work for the Neo Heroes until he can pay off this debt. Once the chapter ends, we can see an ad for the third season of the anime.

While some replies are very positive about Murata’s Webigaza and getting to see Suiryu, a lot of the direct replies to Murata are extremely negative. Some people thought the One Punch Man Chapter 247 was an unnecessary filler, and that it wasn’t worth waiting two months for something so short. As a reminder though, Murata was taking a break. It's highly unlikely he was working during the two-month hiatus, so he might have drawn a shorter chapter than usual in order to get back into the flow of things.

One Punch Man follows the story of Saitama, who is probably the most powerful man on Earth and is capable of defeating everything with a single punch. Because of this, he’s very bored with life. He and his apprentice, Genos the cyborg, decide to the Hero Association in pursuit of notability and something new.

The One Punch Man anime is available via Crunchyroll, and Viz Media has licensed the English version of the manga.

A short Oshi no Ko spin-off, Oshi no Ko Interlude, will run for a limited period of time while the main series goes on hiatus. Oshi no Ko Interlude will be in Issues 37/38 to 41 of Young Jump. The plot of the spin-off will take place in the real world and focus on Mengo Yokoyari. [Thanks, ryokutya2089!]

Mengo Yokoyari is the manga artist for Oshi no Ko. She also wrote and drew Scum’s Wish. Since Interlude will take place from her perspective, it might be about her workflow, as well as real-life idols or events. While leaker ryokutya2089 seems to already have an idea of who the first chapter of Interlude will be about, they have not explicitly named the character on their site.

As for the main Oshi no Ko story, it will start up after Interlude ends, so we can expect it in Issue 42 of Young Jump. That will appear on September 14, 2023. The most recent chapters showed developments in Aqua and Ruby’s relationship. Until the series starts up again in September 2023, it's unclear just where the story will proceed from there with the twins.

The Oshi no Ko anime is available on streaming services such as HIDIVE. Yen Press is releasing the manga volumes in English, with Volume 3 coming out on August 22, 2023.

Hideaki Anno's Shin Kamen Rider reboot film isn't in theaters yet, but a spin-off manga is already in the works. It's called Shin Kamen Rider Shocker Side (or Shoker Side). It'll debut in the pages of Young Jump magazine [Thanks, ryokutya2089!]

No visuals from the manga were available, but key credits are already known. Shin Kamen Rider Shocker Side will be written by Kyuri Yamada. Yamada create the sci-fi manga AI no Idenshi ("Genes of AI"). The art will be provided by Akeji Fujimura. Fujimura created the manga series Kami-sama no Iu Toori ("As the Gods Will"). The manga is said to draw on or depict the film's "Greatest Villain." Whether this refers to an individual character or a larger group isn't specified. "Reboot" films like Shin Kamen Rider, Shin Ultraman, and Shin Godzilla often play with and revise portions of the "lore" of their inspirations, so whatever Shocker Side refers to might not necessarily appear as it does in the original works.

In Kamen Rider, Shocker is the original evil organization of the series. Agents of Shocker kidnapped Takeshi Hongo and Hayato Ichimonji to turn them into the Kamen Rider super-soldiers. Led by a singular "Great Leader", Shocker has taken on many forms and incarnations throughout Kamen Rider's decades of history. In Shin Kamen Rider, SHOCKER is an acronym standing for "Sustainable Happiness Organization with Computational Knowledge Embedded Remodeling." A promotional app for the film is called "The Official SHOCKER App", and delivers marketing content in the form of propaganda drops from "Shocker Staff".

Shin Kamen Rider Shocker Side will debut in the pages of Young Jump magazine. The film will premiere in Japan in March 2023.

Kaguya-sama: Love is War will be ending, as the final chapter of the manga will appear in the November 2, 2022 issue of Weekly Young Jump. Creator Aka Akasaka started Kaguya-sama in May 2015, which means that it has gone on for around seven years. To commemoration its conclusion, Volume 49, which is where the final chapter will be, will have Kaguya-sama: Love is War on its cover and center color pages. [Thanks, Oricon!]

News that Kaguya-sama: Love is War would be ending during 2022 started surfacing in the summer. At the time, Akasaka had reported that if all went well, then the series would end around October 2022. He only had around fourteen chapters left to write. And, since there has been no particular delays, he is right on time. Volume 49 of Weekly Young Jump will have a special 12-page booklet. It will also have include a special interview between creator Akasaka and professional cosplayer Enako.

Kaguya-sama: Love is War is a romantic comedy manga series centering around the main protagonists’ attempts to make the other confess. Miyuki Shirogane is the student council president, whereas Kaguya is the heiress of the wealthy Shinomiya family. They are both excessively proud, and though they both like each other, they do not want to ‘lose’ and be the first to confess or show affection.

A-1 Pictures released three seasons of a Kaguya-sama: Love is War anime adaptation. There will also be an anime film, Kaguya-sama: Love is War: The First Kiss Never Ends. It will air in Japanese theaters in late 2022.

Kaguya-sama: Love is War will conclude its seven-year-long manga run on November 2, 2022.
