The Dragon Ball Super manga will reportedly have its previously announced hiatus extended. According to leaker ryokutya2089, a new chapter was originally slated to release on the March 2025 issue of the V-Jump magazine on January 2025 before the hiatus got extended. [Thanks, ryokutya2089!]

The Dragon Ball Super manga has been on an indefinite hiatus since the release of chapter 103 on March 20, 2024. At the time of its announcement, the manga’s break was said to be unrelated to original Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama’s ing on March 1, 2024.

Artist Toyotaro has been in charge of drawing the art for the Dragon Ball Super manga, while original series creator Akira Toriyama was behind the writing for the series from it's inception in June 2015 until his death.

While Dragon Ball Super won’t be returning to the March 2025 issue of the V-Jump magazine, Atlus announced that the popular RPG Metaphor: ReFantazio will be adapted into a manga series, and its first chapter is expected to appear on that very issue of the monthly manga magazine.

The Dragon Ball Super manga hiatus has reportedly been extended and will continue indefinitely. Viz Media handles the English release of the manga. The Dragon Ball Super anime is available to stream on Crunchyroll.

Metaphor: ReFantazio Manga Heading to V-Jump

The Metaphor: ReFantazio manga adaptation will reportedly begin serialization on the March 2025 issue of the V Jump magazine. It seems like the new series will be featured on the front cover of the magazine, with the first chapter being 58 pages long and published in color. [Thanks, ryokutya2089!]

Considering how manga magazine issues naming conventions work, the March 2025 issue where the Metaphor: ReFantazio manga adaptation is expected to start will most likely come out sometime in late January 2025.

Atlus’ Studio Zero originally announced on X (formerly Twitter) that Metaphor: ReFantazio would end up getting a manga adaptation on September 24, 2024, which was prior to the game’s October 11 global release date. Yoichi Amano was announced as the manga artist working behind it, and a newly drawn color illustration of the protagonist and Gallica was shared as well.

You can see the aforementioned illustration here:

Yoichi Amano is well known for his work on the Akaboshi: Ibun Suikoden manga, which was published on the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2009. Most recently, Amano worked on the Dragon Quest Treasures: Another Adventure manga adaptation of the 2022 video game.

Metaphor: ReFantazio is readily available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. The manga adaptation will reportedly begin on the March 2025 issue of the V Jump magazine.

Yu-gi-oh ultimate offering

A famous Yu-Gi-Oh card is getting a remake. The Yu-Gi-Oh Ultimate Offering card will be remade and reintroduced to the game. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

The official Japanese website announced that the remade Yu-Gi-Oh Ultimate Offering card will be included in the May 2023 issue of V Jump. Fans who purchase it will receive the updated card to use in their decks.

The original version of Ultimate Offering is called "Chi no Daishou" in Japanese ("Blood Price" or "Compensation of Blood"). It's classified as "Forbidden" (banned) in the Official Card Game and the Advanced version, but can be included Traditional decks. Notably, the international version of the Yu-Gi-Oh Ultimate Offering card received different art to remove visual suggestions of bleeding.

The remade version of Ultimate Offering was renamed to "Chiniku no Daishou" ("Blood and Flesh Price" or "Compensation of Blood and Flesh"), and features updated art as well. As an international version of the card has yet to be announced, it is unknown if the art will be changed again.

The effects of the remade Yu-Gi-Oh Ultimate Offering card were also changed compared to the original version. The original version of the card allows players to pay 500 Life Points to conduct a Normal Summon during their Main Phase, or their opponent's Battle Phase.

The remade card adds a changing price and context to the effects. During the Main Phase, players can pay 1000 Life Points to conduct up to 3 Normal Summons during their turn. They can also pay 500 Life Points to Normal Summon once during their opponent's Battle Phase.

The updated Ultimate Offering card will be released in Japan alongside the May 2023 issue of V Jump on March 21, 2023.

Yu-Gi-Oh Rush Duel Saikyou Battle Royale

V Jump has released a promotional video for the Yu-Gi-Oh Rush Duel: Saikyou Battle Royale!! Nintendo Switch game. It features comedian Yoshio Kojima, who is famous for appearing only in a small bathing suit. He even says his well-known catchphrase, “Sonna no kankei nee” (that has nothing to do with it). The video introduces the game's duel system, the rush duel mechanic, and the story mode.

The game is based on the current Yu-Gi-Oh SEVENS anime series and takes place in Goha City. In Yu-Gi-Oh Rush Duel: Saikyou Battle Royale!! the player can interact with characters from the show, such as Yuga and Gakuto. Voice actors from the show also reprise their roles for the game. Players of past Yu-Gi-Oh titles such as the Yu-Gi-Oh Tag Force series may recognize the familiar layout of the duel system in game.

You can view the promotional video here:

A difference between the rush duel mechanic and the more old-school rules is that players can normal summon or set as many monsters as they want so long as they are under level 4. Monsters over level 5 still require tribute summoning. During the draw phase, players can draw until they have five cards in their hands. If they already have five, then they draw one card as per usual.

Yu-Gi-Oh Rush Duel Saikyou Battle Royale!! will release on August 12, 2021 in Japan on the Nintendo Switch. Those who pre-order the game will receive bonus Amiibo cards. Konami has not announced if the game will appear worldwide.
