Cygames announced the pre-registration period started for the English version of Umamusume: Pretty Derby, and that includes a debut celebration launch bundle with Carats for gacha banner pulls. There is also a contest tied to the official social media that includes a trip to Japan, Amazon gift cards, and character keychains as rewards. 

The pre-registration bonus for Umamusume, which will also be doled out to everyone who plays the English version at launch, is a Debut Celebration Present with Carats as the main reward. Here’s everything in that bundle:

• 30 Goddess Statues to upgrade characters with shards.
• 45 Alarm Clocks to allow you to retry an Objective Race a character lost. 
• 45 Toughness 30s to refill 30 TP. 
• 3,750 Carats to use on 25 gacha banner Scout attempts.
• 50,000 Points to use to upgrade Cards.
• 100,000 Monies to spend on items and upgrades.

In the case of the contest, people need to follow the official X , retweet the designated post, and be the age of majority (in many cases 18) in their country. This must be done by May 11, 2025, and winners will be DMed by the end of May 2025. One person will win two round-trip plane tickets to Tokyo, Japan, and they must travel from one of the cities specified in the official rules to use them. In the US, applicable cities include Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York City, Seattle, and San Francisco. 10 people will each get one $50 Amazon gift card. Five people will each get one set of acrylic keychains.

Umamusume: Pretty Derby will appear on PCs via Steam and mobile devices on June 26, 2025, and pre-registration is open now. It is live in Japan. The new Umamusume: Cinderella Gray anime is on Amazon, and other anime adaptations are on Crunchyroll.

Following a confirmation of a livestream discussing the global version of Umamusume: Pretty Derby and Cygames saying a demo would be at the 2025 Kentucky Derby, we have an English release date for the mobile and PC version of the game on Steam. The company took to social media and the showcase to say we’ll see the simulation on June 26, 2025. 

Of course, prior to that, we’ll be able to sign up to show interest in playing Cygames confirmed that preregistration will begin on April 28, 2025. We will be able to find the listing for the PC version of Umamusume: Pretty Derby on Steam, while the mobile ones will be on Apple’s App Store and Google Play. Cygames didn’t note if there will be any preregistration rewards for hitting certain tiers, though that sort of announcement might come up once the pages are actually open and live.

To go along with the Umamusume: Pretty Derby English release date announcement for the global PC and mobile versions of the game, Cygames started releasing new character trailers for the Tracen students who will appear in the game at launch. First, a Special Week trailer showed up.

Back in March 2023 at Google for Games Developer Summit, a video hinted at an Umamusume: Pretty Derby English global release. Now Cygames confirmed it is happening with an official social media , website, and teaser trailer.

There’s no English release window for Umamusume: Pretty Derby yet. The s note it is on the way. We do know it will be on both Android and iOS devices worldwide in English. It will remain free-to-play. 

Here’s the teaser trailer. Rather than hinting at gameplay, it’s a “Girls’ Legend U” opening movie for the game. It introduces many of the horse girls who appear in the game. This is an animated segment with ones like Special Week, Gold Ship, Silence Suzuka, and Meijiro McQueen appearing. It also highlights the fact that characters are racers, students, and idols.

Umamusume is a horse racing game by Cygames, however all of the horses are actually horse girls. In addition to the game that launched in February 2021 after being delayed out of 2018, there are manga and anime adaptations. It is quite popular in Japan, and it ed 21 million s in June 2024.

Another game based on the series is also coming up soon. Umamusume: Pretty Derby Party Dash will show up on the Switch, PS4, and PC. That’s a minigame collection starring the characters. It’s also set for a worldwide release at launch.

Umamusume: Pretty Derby is on mobile devices in Japan now, and an English global release is coming. The anime is streaming on Crunchyroll.

Cygames announced a set of new emotes will come to Granblue Fantasy: Relink as part of a crossover with its Uma Musume series. The emotes are expected to arrive alongside Version 1.3.0 sometime in late May 2024.

The three emotes allow characters to perform variations on the dance choreography from the song "Umapyoi Densetsu," including actions miming having horse horse ears and running. The song is one of the main themes from the Uma Musume franchise, which is also owned by Cygames, and it appeared in one of the franchise's earliest trailers back in 2016. The main Uma Musume: Pretty Derby mobile game is not currently available globally, but did get a Chinese release back in 2023.

Back in February, 2024, sales of Granblue Fantasy: Relink ed 1 million just 11 days after release. The game also recently received an update that added two new characters: Seofon and Tweyen of the Immortals.

The Uma Musume emotes are set to come to Granblue Fantasy: Relink alongside the arrival of Version 1.3.0 sometime in late May 2024. The game itself is readily available on the PS4, PS5, and PC. Uma Musume: Pretty Derby is available on PC and mobile devices, but only in Japan and China.

There might be a chance for the horse girls of Uma Musume to go global after all. A video presentation ed by Google might have revealed the existence of an Uma Musume global release.

The presentation in question is a video titled Google Play Games on PC: Unlock Seamless Gameplay Across Mobile and PC, ed to the official Android Developers YouTube channel. Presented as part of the Google For Games Developer Summit, the video is presented by Google Play Games Director of Product Management Arjun Dayal. The nearly 19-minute presentation is mainly targeted at new and existing game developers, and exists to promote Google's initiatives for cross-platform compatibility through the Google Play Games on PC app. The app is a Windows-based program that allows players to launch select games and play them on a PC interface. Participating titles include Arknights, Mobile Legends, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, and Dragon Ball Legends.

The relevant point about a possible Uma Musume global release comes at about 4 minutes and 20 seconds into the presentation. Dayal offers a "sneak peek" at mobile games about to launch in 2023 for Google Play Games on PC.

Dayal promotes the arrival of Garena Free Fire, Ludo King, Disney Mirrorverse, Angry Birds 2, and Maple Story M. Then he invites interested developers and players to " an anime equestrian universe with Uma Musume." And that's about it. Nothing else is shown regarding the game.

It's possible that Dayal is referring simply to a launch of the Japanese version of Uma Musume on the Japanese Google Play Games on PC client. In that case, this would not be an Uma Musume global release at all, but merely an expansion of existing platform for the Japanese version. However, given that the video is only in English and consistently refers to games that are available in English-speaking territories, Uma Musume's inclusion at least opens up the possibility. Outside of teases from 2022 hinting at ongoing work, Cygames has remained silent regarding an Uma Musume international release window.

Uma Musume is available on Android and iOS in Japan. Its anime adaptation: Uma Musume Pretty Derby, streamed in English on Crunchyroll. Its third season will air in 2023.

Cygames announced that the Uma Musume: Pretty Derby anime will be returning for a season 3 later this year. The company released a trailer and visual teasing the season, and has also updated the official anime website. Exactly when in 2023 the third season will release is not yet known.

Both the trailer and visual for Uma Musume season 3 feature Kitasan Black and Satono Diamond. The two are best friends and rivals, and they will be the stars of the season. Kitasan Black wants to be as strong of a racer as the horse girl she looks up to, while Satono Diamond hopes to win a G1 race for the sake of her family.

Uma Musume: Pretty Derby is a multimedia franchise from Cygames, and it features games, anime, and manga centered around horse girls who are inspired by real-life racehorses. Outside of the main anime series, there is a short-form anime adapted from the Umayon spin-off manga, as well as a short web anime. A second web anime series is also in development.

Season 3 of Uma Musume: Pretty Derby will release later in 2023. Seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream on Crunchyroll. The mobile game is available on Android and iOS devices, as well as Windows PCs.

The characters are all directly inspired by real-life racehorses from both the past and present. Since the Uma Musume: Pretty Derby anime series is on Crunchyroll, the new one may have a western release as well.

In the same announcement, Cygames released information on new characters and merchandise. Copano Rickey will appear as a new horse girl. Additionally, Misato Akasaka and Junko Hosoe are new commentators. In particular, Junko appears to draw inspiration from the real-life Junko Hosoe, who is a commentator and former JRA jockey.

As for merchandise, three companies are working on figures for Uma Musume. Good Smile Company is developing Nendoroids of Mejiro McQueen, Tokai Teio, and Rice Shower. F:NEX will release a 1/7 scale figure of Gold Ship, and Bandai Spirits will release a figure of Tokai Teio. The Tokai Teio figure will open for pre-order on June 23, 2022, and will release in September 2022.

Cygames has revealed the official release date for its planned crossover event between  Granblue Fantasy and  Uma Musume: Pretty Derby.  According to a Tweet from the official , the event will kick off on February 8, 2022. The crossover was first teased in December 2021 During the Granblue Fes 2021 live event. Its Japanese title translates to " Uma Musume: Pretty Derby --Fanfare Echoing through the Blue Sky " .

Uma Musume: Pretty Derby is a mobile game also developed and operated by Cygames. It's a "raising"-style RPG, where players spend most of their time developing and upgrading their chosen team of horse girls. compete in races, and perform songs onstage in idol-style events.

Cygames didn't broadcast any other new details in the announcement, but the teases from December promised at least two new  Uma Musume  additions to the Granblue Fantasy  playable roster. Due to an ongoing freeze on new voice recordings due to COVID-19 prevention measures, In previous instances of voiceover suspension for Granblue Fantasy , Cygames added voiceover later on to the archived and rerun versions of the affected event.

The horse girls Special Week, Silence Suzuka, and Tokai Teio will as a single playable unit (much like the combo characters from the  Love Live!  Crossover ).

Meanwhile, Meijiro McQueen and Vtuber / Uma Musume mascot Gold Ship as a summon.

Granblue Fantasy  and  Uma Musume are available on mobile platforms (and PC via browser for Granblue ). Granblue Fantasy has a full English language option, though  Uma Musume does not. To date, Cygames has not announced an official global release or localization plans for the Uma Musume game. A two-season anime adaptation is available for streaming on Crunchyroll .

Google released Japan's most searched of 2021, and included were video games such as Monster Hunter Rise and Uma Musume: Pretty Derby. Prominent anime series such as Jujutsu Kaisen and Tokyo Revengers also made the list. Notably, this is the first year Google Japan has released an entirely separate ranking category for video games.

The search rankings are based on data from January 1, 2021, to November 22, 2021. In the viral ranking category, Tokyo Revengers came in at third place just below the "Tokyo Olympics 2020" and "Shohei Ohtani." Additionally, Monster Hunter Rise came in fourth, Jujutsu Kaisen in fifth, and Uma Musume in sixth place. The rankings mirror similar results from Yahoo Japan's search rankings released in November 2021.

Tokyo Revengers also took the top spot of the movies category, likely due to the release of the live-action film earlier this year. Just below it was Mamoru Hosoda's Belle in second place. Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 came in fifth, with Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway in seventh place. Last year's results featured the Demon Slayer: Mugen Train movie in first place.

Furthermore, Google Japan specifically outlines the most searched video games of 2021. Monster Hunter Rise and Uma Musume top the charts alongside Pokemon UNITE and Tales of Arise. Other notable mentions include the recently released Pikmin Bloom and Capcom's Resident Evil Village.

In honor of Hashtag Day, the Japanese branch of Twitter revealed some of the most popular topics from the first half of the year. Lots of games dominated the top ten between January 2021 and June 2021. In particular, Uma Musume took the top spot for most popular Japanese Twitter hashtag, with Genshin Impact coming in third.

Of the top 10 topics, four were games that appear on mobile devices in Japan. Uma Musume was the first most popular Twitter hashtag, followed by Genshin Impact in third, Monster Strike in ninth, and Fate/Grand Order securing the tenth spot. The Nintendo Switch was the only console to appear, and it took fourth place. Only one anime series showed up in the top ten—Jujutsu Kaisen.

So far, Uma Musume is only available on Android and Apple iOS devices in Japan, though Uma Musume: Pretty Derby is available to watch online via Crunchyroll. It just celebrated its Half Anniversary in August 2021. Genshin Impact is available on the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices worldwide, with a Switch port planned.

The Uma Musume Cinderella Gray manga hit a milestone of 1.5 million copies of the manga, both physical and digital, being sold. This was announced as volume 4 released on August 18, 2021 in Japan. This volume showcased Sakura Bakushin O on the cover. An additional cover is also available for this issue, instead featuring Oguri Cap. This special cover was used in Young Jump issue #39 and celebrates the sales milestone.

Uma Musume is a Cygames franchise based on race horses, but reborn as girls in a world like our own. When they’re reborn, they retain several horse-like features, including their ears and tails. Additionally, they have the speed and endurance of racehorses as well. After the anime's release, the franchise found great success, and now consists of video games, anime, and manga series. Uma Musume Cinderella Gray was first began its run on June 11, 2020.

This isn’t the only milestone being celebrated for Uma Musume. In August 2021, Cygames revealed that the video game Uma Musume: Pretty Derby would be receiving a new story, songs, and girls in an update. The app launched on February 23, 2021, and this update will celebrate the game’s first half-anniversary. The game is only available in Japanese, yet it was the third highest-grossing mobile game worldwide in May.

Uma Musume: Pretty Derby is available in Japanese on mobile devices and Windows PC, as is the Uma Musume Cinderella Gray manga. English localizations have yet to be announced.
