In addition, a new horse girl named Jungle Pocket debuted in the game and she is available in the gacha. Jungle Pocket was a Japanese thoroughbred that won five out of thirteen races over the course of his career. He retired in 2002 and died in 2021. The horse girl version of Jungle Pocket plays a major role in the Beginning of a New Era film.

Umamusume: Pretty Derby is a multimedia franchise focusing on personified versions of famous race horses in history. While a good number of these horses were male in real life, they’re all girls in Umamusume. Aside from the game, there are anime series and manga adaptations of the characters and story. So far, Cygames has not announced any plans to release the game outside of Japan. However, Google hinted at a possible global release back in March 2023.

It has been a very popular game despite all of its delays, making over 2.4 billion JPY. Over 72% of the money Cygames made from mobage between February 2021 and March 2024 came from this game. Even back in 2021, it was the third highest grossing mobile game, competing with titles like Pokemon Go and Genshin Impact. It reached this number within about three months of release.

This information comes from Sensor Tower, which has more charts explaining and breaking down Umamusume Pretty Derby’s revenue. Over 72% of the money that Cygames made from mobage between February 2021 and March 2024 came from Umamusume. It beat out other games like Granblue Fantasy and Princess Connect by a large margin.

It was also in the top 10 for revenue in February 2024 in the Japanese app store. This was because the third-anniversary event was taking place in-game. 90% of the revenue comes from within Japan, which makes sense because Umamusume is not readily available outside of it.

As for the demographic, 78% of the players are male, and 24% are female. They’re mostly between 19-34 years old. People who play this game are not only fans of other Cygames titles but fans of legitimate horse racing. As a new movie will be coming out soon, along with the spin-off title Party Dash, more fans may start to pick up this game.

Umamusume Pretty Derby is part of the Umamusume multimedia franchise. It has been a very popular title since it came out in February 2021. The game itself has a story mode, and the gameplay loop centers around interacting with and raising the horse girl of your choice. Cygames announced a set of new emotes will come to Granblue Fantasy: Relink as part of a crossover with its Uma Musume series. The emotes are expected to arrive alongside Version 1.3.0 sometime in late May 2024.

The three emotes allow characters to perform variations on the dance choreography from the song "Umapyoi Densetsu," including actions miming having horse horse ears and running. The song is one of the main themes from the Uma Musume franchise, which is also owned by Cygames, and it appeared in one of the franchise's earliest trailers back in 2016. The main Uma Musume: Pretty Derby mobile game is not currently available globally, but did get a Chinese release back in 2023.

Cygames and Toho Movie has announced a movie for Umamusume: Pretty Derby. The title of the movie is Umamusume: Pretty Derby - Beginning of a New Era, and it’ll come out on May 24, 2024 in Japan.

Like the games, the movie seems to focus on the horse girls working hard in order to win their races and beat their rivals. It’ll be kind of like a sports anime, in that sense. Horse girls who will play a major role in the Umamusume: Pretty Derby movie are: Jungle Pocket, Agnes Tachyon, Manhattan Cafe, Dantsu Flame, and TM Opera O.

From the trailer, it seems that the movie will follow Jungle Pocket as the protagonist, who experiences defeat at the hands of Agnes Tachyon. Though Jungle Pocket views Agnes Tachyon as her rival and trains to defeat her, Agnes Tachyon, like in the game, has very little actual interest in racing and doesn’t care about winning. The movie focuses on a group of horse girls separate from the ones who starred in the anime. The anime featured characters like Special Week, Kitasan Black, and Gold Ship.

Umamusume: Pretty Derby is readily available for Windows PC and mobile devices, and it’s only in Japanese. Umamusume: Pretty Derby - Beginning of a New Era will appear in movie theaters in Japan from May 24, 2024.

Developer Cygames announced that as of August 31, 2023, its horse girl mobile game Uma Musume: Pretty Derby sured 19 million s cumulatively on the Japanese App Store, Google Play and PC. Here's the official announcement heralding the milestone. It noted that the 1,500 jewels will be distributed to all players who have at minimum completed the tutorial. These jewels can be used in the gacha or other areas in the game to speed up progress. 1,500 jewels is enough for one ten-pull in its gacha.

On March 24, 2023, Cygames announced that Uma Musume ed 18 million s. It has taken about five months to reach this latest milestone of 19 million.

A global release of Uma Musume: Pretty Derby was also hinted at by Google in March 2023, although it's still unclear whether that will come to fruition or not. The game is now available in Simplified Chinese. Season three of the Uma Musume anime adaptation was recently revealed to begin airing this October.

Thanks, Bilibili announced that it is publishing and distributing the Simplified Chinese version of Uma Musume: Pretty Derby in China. Pre-registration started on August 4, 2023 and within ten days, over a million players signed up. Cygames is working on expanding Uma Musume: Pretty Derby not only within Japan, but to other countries as well. However, there is no news as of yet in regards to an English release.

You can the Simplified Chinese version of Uma Musume: Pretty Derby from the game’s official Bilibili page. Obviously, since the game just came out, it has the debut roster of horse girls and there is only one main story. It’s unknown if the Chinese version will, like the global server for Twisted Wonderland, try to catch up to the Japanese version or if it will remain several years behind the original server on a permanent basis.

Uma Musume: Pretty Derby is a multimedia franchise centering around uma musume, who are literally horse girls. They’re based off of real-life race horses both alive and dead. Uma musume are a combination of sports stars and idols in-universe, in which they legitimately work to compete in their races. However, the winner of the races and derbies get to be the center of a live performance that takes place after the races. Aside from a game, there is also a manga and an anime adaptation.

Satono Diamond, on the other hand, wishes to win a G1 race for her family.

There might be a chance for the horse girls of Uma Musume to go global after all. A video presentation ed by Google might have revealed the existence of an Uma Musume global release.

The presentation in question is a video titled Google Play Games on PC: Unlock Seamless Gameplay Across Mobile and PC, ed to the official Android Developers YouTube channel. Presented as part of the Google For Games Developer Summit, the video is presented by Google Play Games Director of Product Management Arjun Dayal. The nearly 19-minute presentation is mainly targeted at new and existing game developers, and exists to promote Google's initiatives for cross-platform compatibility through the Google Play Games on PC app. The app is a Windows-based program that allows players to launch select games and play them on a PC interface. Participating titles include Arknights, Mobile Legends, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, and Dragon Ball Legends.

The relevant point about a possible Uma Musume global release comes at about 4 minutes and 20 seconds into the presentation. Dayal offers a "sneak peek" at mobile games about to launch in 2023 for Google Play Games on PC.

Dayal promotes the arrival of Garena Free Fire, Ludo King, Disney Mirrorverse, Angry Birds 2, and Maple Story M. Then he invites interested developers and players to " an anime equestrian universe with Uma Musume." And that's about it. Nothing else is shown regarding the game.

It's possible that Dayal is referring simply to a launch of the Japanese version of Uma Musume on the Japanese Google Play Games on PC client. In that case, this would not be an Uma Musume global release at all, but merely an expansion of existing platform for the Japanese version. However, given that the video is only in English and consistently refers to games that are available in English-speaking territories, Uma Musume's inclusion at least opens up the possibility. Outside of teases from 2022 hinting at ongoing work, Cygames has remained silent regarding an Uma Musume international release window.

Uma Musume is available on Android and iOS in Japan. Its anime adaptation: Uma Musume Pretty Derby, streamed in English on Crunchyroll. Its third season will air in 2023.

Multiple Cygames titles experienced server outages in the afternoon of September 12, 2022, leaving them temporarily inaccessible. The outage was sudden and unplanned, leaving players of high-profile games such as Granblue Fantasy, Uma Musume: Pretty Derby, and Princess Connect Re:Dive unable to connect to servers. The affected games include Granblue Fantasy, Uma Musume: Pretty Derby, Princess Connect Re:Dive, iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls Starlight Stage, and Rage of Bahamut. Notably, the server outage seemed to also affect players outside of Japan, with the exception of Princess Connect. On the other hand, other games like Shadowverse appeared entirely unaffected. While Granblue Fantasy was inaccessible for only an hour, some games such as Uma Musume and Rage of Bahamut took nearly two hours to resolve the issue.

While the reason behind the server outage remains unclear, it appears that the issue had something to do with the developer's data center. As a result of the outage, "Cygames" shot up to the #1 trending term in Japan, along with Granblue and Princess Connect. Cygames has since apologized for the outage, providing players with free currencies and items such as Valor Badges and Tokens in Granblue Fantasy, as well as Jewels in Uma Musume: Pretty Derby.

Many s noted that Cygames experienced a similar server outage that occurred around the same time last year. The July 2021 server outage affected the same exact games, rendering them unplayable for nearly five hours.

CESA has announced the winners of the CEDEC Awards 2022. The development teams of Elden Ring and Uma Musume: Pretty Derby from From Software and Cygames, respectively, have won multiple awards.

The Elden Ring developers won two awards as a group. The team received the Game Design Award for successfully integrating an open world into its Souls series gameplay system. It also won the Visual Arts Award for combining picturesque sceneries with realistic details in its level designs.

From Software's Hidetada Miyazaki also won the individual Special Award in the CEDEC Awards 2022. The judges noted how the company's president and game director gathered attention from both game creators and players worldwide. After defining a new genre with Demon's Souls, Miyazaki released Elden Ring as a compilation with a larger volume than his prior titles.

Meanwhile, Cygames' Uma Musume development team won the Sound Award for producing a variety of running and cheering sounds to set the ambiance of the game's races. The Cygames Tech Conference team received the Engineering Award for the clear explanations of its practical application of technology in its titles, including Uma Musume.

The CEDEC Awards is an annual award-giving ceremony held at the Computer Entertainment Developers Conference that took place yearly in Japan. In the 2021 edition, Sucker Punch won two awards for its work on Ghost of Tsushima, while Mark Cerny received the Special Award. The remaining awards went to Edelweiss of Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin fame and Sega's Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio.

As for merchandise, three companies are working on figures for Uma Musume. Good Smile Company is developing Nendoroids of Mejiro McQueen, Tokai Teio, and Rice Shower. F:NEX will release a 1/7 scale figure of Gold Ship, and Bandai Spirits will release a figure of Tokai Teio. The Tokai Teio figure will open for pre-order on June 23, 2022, and will release in September 2022.

Cygames announced a Shadowverse Uma Musume crossover event. It will bring several horse girls to the Japanese version of Shadowverse. Cygames confirmed the addition of three characters, with more set to appear at a later date. The company will release more information about the collaboration during the 22nd Shadowverse channel livestream.

Cygames announced the collaboration event during the first day of the 4th official Uma Musume "Special Dreamers!!" in-person event. Alongside the collaboration announcement, new information about figures, merchandise, and in-game events also appeared. While details are scarce, the collaboration teaser trailer offered a glimpse at a few of the confirmed characters set to appear.

As of writing, three characters are set to appear in Shadowverse. These include horse girls Special Week, Silence Suzuka, and Tokai Teio. Special Week will be a Dragoncraft card, Silence Suzuka will be a Forestcraft card, and Tokai Teio will be a Swordcraft card. Each character's respective voice actress will also reprise her role during the collaboration event. The event will also add new leader skins.
