Studio Orange finally shared an update on the Trigun Stargaze anime, the series that will follow the Trigun Stampede reboot, and it involves a tentative release window. We won’t see the new show until 2026. However, the studio and Crunchyroll already both confirmed that the show will be streaming on the service, just like its predecessor.

The announcement included a few other details. For example, there’s new key art from Kiyotaka Oshiyama. We also know Kazuyuki Fudeyasu will write its scripts, Kouji Tajima is the character designer, and Masako Sato will direct it.

While we were waiting for this latest anime news, a lot of merchandise appeared. Kotobukiya announced new figures based on this adaptation. In addition to one of Vash the Stampede, a Nicholas D. Wolfwood one is in the works. The last update on that from January 2025 involved Kotobukiya sharing an unpainted prototype. SuperGroupies also released a number of clothing items like wallets and coats based on characters from the series.

Trigun Stargaze will begin airing worldwide in 2026, with Crunchyroll handling streaming of the anime outside of Japan. Trigun Stampede is available now. Dark Horse Manga handled the manga.

Fullcock will release water guns that look like the weapons Knives and Vash wielded in the original Trigun anime. Pre-orders are available until September 18, 2024 and the water guns will come out in December 2024.

Each gun looks quite realistic, but they’re made of ABS plastic. Fullcock has also listed specific information on each gun, such as the type of gun the characters used. In of pricing, Knives’s and Vash’s normal guns both cost 5500 JPY ($37.45). Meanwhile, the Vash’s first gun model will cost 4950 JPY ($33.70). This was the gun that he used up to episode 3.

There are some other notes about the water guns. When you get them, you will need to put the grip together with glue (which Fullcock will not supply). As well, you shouldn’t aim the gun downwards, as this can cause water to leak out. In of its usage in a water fight, these Trigun water guns aren’t the best. You’d be better off putting these guns on display and then buying a Super Soaker instead if you’re in it to win it.

Trigun is a popular space western that ran from 1995 to 1996, and then 1997 to 2007. The anime series for it aired from April 1998 to September 1998. Trigun Stampede is a reimagined version of the series that started airing in 2023. It follows Meryl Stryfe and Milly Thompson, two insurance workers, who come across The Humanoid Typhoon, Vash the Stampede. While Vash is a skilled gunman and accidentally destroyed a city (causing him to have a huge bounty on his head), he is actually a pacifist with a mysterious past.

The Fullcock Trigun water guns are open for pre-order until September 18, 2024. They’ll come out in December 2024.

The follow up to the Trigun Stampede anime won’t be a second cour, as Studio Orange revealed Trigun Stargaze at Anime Expo 2024. It will continue the story following the cliffhanger that appeared in “High Noon at July” in 2023. 

Here’s the teaser for the new anime. It only shows the logo for the next show.

To celebrate the announcement, Studio Orange released three pieces of Trigun official art of Vash, Wolfwood, and Knives. All three are High Noon at July images of the characters. Here’s how those designs look:

In addition to the new Trigun Stargaze anime art, Studio Orange also shared more insight into the series’ lore. At Anime Expo 2024, Takehiko Okishi and Yoshihisa Ueda shared insights into how Plants work in the series. Plants are what people on Gunsmoke use to survive and get energy. 

Ahead of that, people will be able to catch up on the series with physical copies. Crunchyroll announced it will begin selling the Blu-ray and DVD packaged version on September 10, 2024. Pre-orders are already open.

Crunchyroll announced that its September 2024 anime Blu-ray and DVD releases includes Trigun Stampede. Both standard and limited editions of the show will be available on September 10, 2024. 

The standard version of Trigun Stampede, which only gives you the Blu-ray, is $52.49 at Crunchyroll. That nets you the 12 episodes of the show and some special features like commercials, textless openings and closings, a making-of video, promos, and interviews with Akihiko Orisaka, Kenji Muto, Kiyotaka Waki, and Yoshihiro Watanabe. 

If someone goes for the $67.49 limited edition, you get some physical bonus items. There are three art cards with images of Vash the Stampede, Nicholas D. Wolfwood, and Millions Knives. There’s a Project Seeds patch. You can get a set of two Jeneora Rock coasters. Plus, there’s a Bernardelli Times replica.

We may be hearing more about a second cour or season of the Trigun Stampede anime soon. Orange discussed it first back in March 2023. As part of its Anime Expo 2024 lineup, Crunchyroll announced a July 4, 2024 with the developer that will involve some announcements as well.

Kotobukiya announced that it will re-release its ARTFX J figures of Vash the Stampede and Nicholas D. Wolfwood from Trigun: Badlands Rumble in 2024. Pre-orders for both figures have also opened in Japan.

The 1/8 scale figures will be completely static with no movable parts. However, collectors can attach and remove the optional glasses on both figures. Vash will come with an additional figure of the mascot cat Kuroneko-sama. Meanwhile, Nicholas' figure set will have a chibi caricature of the series creator Yasuhiro Nightow as a bonus item.

Residents of Japan can now place pre-orders on the Kotobukiya Online Shop. Each figure is priced at 16,500 yen (~$110). The buyers will have a guaranteed stock if they place orders on Vash's figure by November 21, 2023, and Nicholas' by December 19, 2023. Fans residing outside Japan will have to Kotobukiya's official retailers in their respective countries to check the figures' availability.

Kotobukiya originally released the Trigun: Badlands Rumble figures in 2013. This is not the first time the set has been re-released, as the company did one previously in 2019. It is also producing new figures of Vash the Stampede from the 2023 anime show Trigun Stampede, which will be available in 2024.

The re-released ARTFX J figure of Vash the Stampede will appear in May 2024, with Nicholas D. Wolfwood's figure set to be available in June 2024. Both figures will take on Vash and Nicholas' appearances in the 2010 movie Trigun: Badlands Rumble.

Kotobukiya announced a new Trigun Stampede figure of Vash the stampede. The figure stands at 8.66 inches, which is about 22 cm tall. It costs $200/20,000円, and its expected release date is sometime between January and March 2024. Pre-orders for the new Trigun Stampede statue are now open outside of Japan from the Sideshow Toys online store.

The base of the figure resembles a patch of desert and dunes. It also allows for Vash’s sunglasses to be taken off. The statue includes a miniature representation of Jeneora Rock, one of the cities in the planet of Noman’s Land, as well as three moons standing behind Vash. When looked at from the front, the statue creates the illusion of distance between Vash and the city and the three moons.

Dark Horse Comics announced that the original manga run of Trigun and Trigun Maximum will return in North America with a new deluxe hardcover edition. The Trigun Deluxe Edition hardcover costs $49.99 USD, and it will appear in bookstores and comic stores on December 5 and 6, 2023 respectively. This edition will collect the first two volumes of the original 1995 Trigun run in 672 pages.

The Trigun Maximum deluxe hardcover will appear in five volumes, or roughly 600 pages each one. Each volume will also cost $49.99 USD. The first volume of the Trigun Maximum Deluxe Edition will release on April 2, 2024 and April 3, 2024 in bookstores and comic stores, respectively.

Trigun Maximum is a direct continuation of the original two-volume Trigun manga. The difference in name comes from a change of publishing magazine that Yasuhiro Nightow had to go through back in 1997. The artist had to add the Maximum title to the manga to continue publishing the story.

This very anticipated reprint comes after the wide success of the new Trigun Stampede anime adaptation, and makes it much easier for new and old Trigun fans to read the original work.

The Trigun Deluxe hardcover edition releases on December 5, 2023 in North America. Meanwhile, the first volume of the Trigun Maximum Deluxe hardcover releases on April 2, 2024. Each volume of the series will cost will cost $49.99 USD

Animation studio Orange unveiled the main trailer for Trigun Stampede on December 4, 2022, along with its worldwide release date of January 7, 2023. This new trailer highlights the clash between Vash and his brother, Millions Knives. Humanity is stranded in a desert planet, forced to rely on Plants, valuable biological power reactors that can’t be replicated. Knives seeks to collect all Plants, and Vash is set to stop him.

Along with the release date, this new trailer revealed the opening and ending themes for Trigun Stampede. The opening theme is called "TOMBI," performed by Japanese hip hop artist Kvi Baba. The ending theme is called "Hoshi no Kuzu α (Waste of the Stars Alpha)," composed by Haruka Nakamura and performed by singer Salyo.

In a previous tweet, studio Orange confirmed that this new retelling of Trigun was only possible thanks to the original manga being complete. Two characters present in the trailer are William Conrad and Livio the Double Fang, which were exclusive to the manga. Their appearances, along with other hints present in the trailer, point to this new adaptation sticking closer to completed source material.

Crunchyroll will offer a worldwide simulcast of Trigun Stampede following its January 7, 2023 release date. The first episode was previously shown at Anime NYC between November 18-20, 2022.

The ongoing Anime NYC 2022 event brought with it a new look at Trigun Stampede, a reboot of the famed 90s-era anime series. The latest Trigun Stampede trailer brings with it a closer look at Millions Knives and his followers, including Legato Bluesummers.

The new Trigun Stampede shows Knives wearing his cloak-like outfit and speaking about wanting to "even out everything.” He also demonstrates his power, which involves manipulating countless numbers of blades floating in the air or linked in a chain. Knives is voiced by Junya Ikeda, who also voiced Ataru in Majestic Prince, Jou Kidou in Digimon Adventure tri, and played Gokai Silver in Pirate Sentai Gokaiger.

The new trailer also reveals the first look at Legato in Trigun Stampede. In the original story, Legato Bluesummers was leader of the Gung-Ho Guns, a group of assassins devoted to Knives' will. The new version of Legato is voiced by Koki Uchiyama, who also voiced Banagher in Gundam Unicorn, Tomura Shigaraki in My Hero Academia, and Razor in Genshin Impact.

of the Gung-Ho Guns themselves also get appearances in the trailer. At the moment it's unknown if they're actually called "the Gung-Ho Guns", though. The group under Legato and Knives in Trigun Stampede may be named differently this time around. Only Zazie the Beast is named in the trailer. She's voiced by Tarako, who voiced Monokuma in Danganronpa and Kirara from InuYasha. Other that appear similar to the original incarnations of E.G. Mine and Monev the Gale appear alongside a new character named William Conrad.

Trigun Stampede begins airing in January 2023. Episode 1 airs early at Anime NYC.

The promised time has come. Just a day after a mysterious Twitter teased a new Trigun-related announcement for June 17, 2022, Toho formally confirmed Trigun Stampede, a new anime series based on Yasuhiro Nightow's manga classic. Crunchyroll also confirmed that it will simulcast the anime globally upon release, with more information to be announced at Anime Expo in July 2022.

Tweets from the official Trigun Stampede Twitter confirmed in both English and Japanese that the production is all-new, with a new cast, staff, and studio.

The tweet teased a piece of key art showing protagonist Vash the Stampede dressed in his red coat. He sits overlooking a city that has grown around the wreck of a massive crashed spaceship.

CG studio Orange will handle production on Trigun Stampede. Orange animated the CG anime series Land of the Lustrous and BEASTARS, among others. Orange also helped out with CG elements on a variety of productions. These include mecha sequences for Majestic Prince and assistance on Girls und Panzer der Film and the Godzilla Singular Point anime.

The announcement contained little other detail. However, it suggests that Trigun Stampede is a reboot rather than a spin-off or a continuation of the 1998 series. The 1998 Trigun anime's story deviated from the source manga because the manga was still running at the time. Similarly, the 2010 Badlands Rumble film featured an original tale of Vash's adventures. It may be that Trigun Stampede will be a more direct adaptation of the now-complete manga. If that ends up being the case, it will be to the original Trigun anime what 2010's Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood reboot was to the 2003 Fullmetal Alchemist anime series.

A classic series from the 1990s may be on the verge of a comeback. An anonymous Japanese Twitter called "$$6,000,000 Bounty" ($$6,000,000の賞金首) popped up with a teaser for what could be a new project related to Trigun. The 1998 anime adaptation of Yasuhiro Nightow's manga is considered a classic of the genre, and fondly ed by many older anime fans.

The tweet shows off a torn-up wanted poster in the wild west style. The tears hide the face of the sought-after character and a logo, revealing a date, which is June 17, 2022. The telltale sign that could be linking the project to Trigun is the bounty amount (and the Twitter 's name) of 6 million "double dollars." The double dollar sign ($$) was used in Trigun's setting, and its main character, Vash the Stampede, had a bounty on his head of $$60 billion. The series itself follows the adventures of Vash on a distant desert planet, while he takes on over-the-top assassins, explores his mysterious past, and is pursued by a pair of insurance agents out to keep him from racking up too much property damage.

Ordinarily, a vague tease like this wouldn't catch much attention, but it received early retweets and follows from prominent s. Those s included that of Yoshiyuki Fudetani, Trigun's manga editor, and the official of Young King Ours magazine, the home publication of the Trigun Maximum manga series.

As for exactly what form a new Trigun project will take, that's unconfirmed. The manga concluded in March 2007. Despite various rumors, no new animated productions have emerged since the 1998 series (which didn't adapt the whole story) and 2010's one-off Badlands Rumble film. The difference in the bounty amounts could imply that a new character or spin-off is in the works, as well, rather than a retelling of Vash's story. In any case, it won't be long until fans get further hints, as something should be announced on June 17, 2022.

Crunchyroll announced a number of new to Crunchyroll anime and dubs will appear on the service in May 2022. There’s a full schedule going over what will be showing up. This means that famous series like Trigun and Initial D will show up on Crunchyroll, as well as ones based on video games like Nekopara. It also means new access to the Fairy Tail and Isekai Quartet dubs.
