Akatsuki announced that the Tribe Nine game, which it launched on February 18, 2025, will shut down on November 27, 2025. This means we got about eight months to play. It is no longer selling paid Daily es and Enigma Entities, and it will issue refunds for Paid Engima Entitis for Contract - Revenio, Advanced , and Armed will happen after that Contract ends in-game. The developer and publisher also noted it will share a final schedule eventually on the game’s official site.

The end of service notice did offer some details about the future of Tribe Nine over the next six months. While the gacha rates did improve since launch, there will be no other fixes or updates. None of the promised additions, features, or changes will appear. This means Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba won’t be playable. The story will remain unfinished and will end at chapter three, as the fourth won’t be released. 

Kazutaka Kodaka also commented on Tribe Nine being shut down, as he and TooKyo Games was involved in the project’s creation and he helped with its early development. He clarified that he worked on worldbuilding and apologized for how things turned out.

The Tribe Nine game will be available on PCs via Steam and mobile devices until November 27, 2025, and the anime series is streaming on Crunchyroll.

It will be easier to get better characters in Tribe Nine, as the free-to-play PC and mobile game gacha rates for the Event and Standard Synchro banners will change. Akatsuki Games also announced it would be returning used Enigma Entities and Synchro Medals, with any used before maintenance on March 3, 2025 being returned after maintenance ends on that day. 

Akatsuki went into some specifics about the refund and rate changes on social media. Contract and Contract Enigma Entities will not be sent back. However, paid and free Enigma Entities and Synchro Medals will be returned via an in-game mail once the next maintenance is performed next week. 

As for the Tribe Nine characters gacha banner rate changes, they increase for three-stars and two-stars and decrease for one-stars. Here’s the exact list of all changes from the announcement:

• One-Star Character: 94.3% rate will decrease to 90%
• Two-Star Character: 5.1% rate will increase to 8% (Pickup Target : 1.7% → 6%, non-Pickup Target: 3.4% → 2%)
• Three-Star Character: 0.6% rate will increase to 2% (Pickup Target: 0.3% → 1.5%, non-Pickup Target: 0.3% → 0.5%)

The announcement also confirmed that you will have a 100% chance of getting a three-star character after 80 pulls on a banner. There is a 50/50 chance of that character being a “Pickup Target.” If it isn’t, then the next time you will have a 100% chance of getting the featured unit. However, after the March 3, 2025 update, Akatsuki said you will have a 75% chance of getting the event character.

Finally, City Challenges will award Synchro Medals for Completion Rewards. You’ll get one medal for each task. For all of these challenges finished before the maintenance period, you’ll get an in-game mail with ones you would have earned.

Tribe Nine is available on PCs and mobile devices, and the next maintenance period with gacha rate changes will arrive on March 3, 2025.

Akatsuki Games announced pre-registration is open for Tribe Nine, and to celebrate the ability to sign up we all get a Koishi Kohinata character skin. We can pre- on both the App Store and Google Play pages, which are live now. The Steam page is also live, but you can only add it to a wishlist there and not pre-.

There are no pre-registration goals that need to be met to get the Tribe Nine rewards. Everyone is already guaranteed them. This means we all get a Parallel Cypher / Y skin for the character Koishi Kohinata. Free items and currency will also be doled out to everyone when we start playing.

While there’s no release date for Tribe Nine yet, we’ve seen a lot of progress come in 2024. For example, a closed beta appeared earlier this year. This offered our first chance to play the game and see how it works. This will be an action-RPG with baseball elements and an art direction reminiscent of Danganronpa.

Tribe Nine will appear on PCs and mobile devices, and pre-registration is now open ahead of its eventual release.

Tribe Nine is getting a demo, and it is now available to pre-. The full Deadly Demo will be released for PC on October 14, 2024.

The Deadly Demo will include the prologue and first chapter of Tribe Nine, promising around twenty hours of gameplay. The demo will act an open beta for the game, and it will run for a limited time as part of Steam Next Fest. After its release on October 14, 2024, the demo will be available until October 22, 2024. Audio will be exclusively in Japanese, but English and Chinese text will be available.

The Tribe Nine Deadly Demo will be an improved version of the closed beta test that was held in August 2024. It will feature changes based on received during the test. The new demo will not require any invite codes or additional .

Tribe Nine is the latest game from Danganronpa creator Kazukata Kodaka’s studio Too Kyo Games. The premise sees a group of teens in Neo Tokyo fighting for their lives in a series of deadly games. The game will employ a real-time combat system where players can switch between a party of three playable characters of their choosing. New content will be added to the game over time following its release.

Tribe Nine is currently in development for PC and mobile devices. The Deadly Demo is available for pre- on PC and will be fully released on October 14, 2024.

The Deadly Playtest Global Beta Test for Tribe Nine has a new start date. Spots are still open for s until the end of July 2024, and the event will take place on August 9-15, 2024.

Too Kyo Games, the developers of Tribe Nine, previously put the call out for participants in the Closed Beta in June 2024. While the studio had stated those successfully chosen to participate and take part in the beta in July, the official global beta test period will be August 9-15, 2024. It is possible to still sign up to participate up until July 31, 2024. Participants will be informed in early August if they are successful. While the game is set for release on PC and mobile platforms, the test will only take place via Steam.

Tribe Nine is the latest game from Too Kyo Games, the studio founded by Danganronpa creator Kazukata Kodaka, in collaboration with Akatsuki Games. Frequent collaborators Rui Komatsuzaki and Masafumi Takada are also involved in character design and music respectively. This free-to-play Extreme Action RPG was first announced in 2020, although news has been limited until now. An anime based on the game’s premise aired in 2022.

In addition to Tribe Nine, Too Kyo Games recently announced the development of another game, Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. This was revealed during the June 2024 Nintendo Direct and is set for release in 2025.

Tribe Nine does not yet have a release date, although its global beta test will take place on August 9-15, 2024. The game will be released for PC and mobile devices.

It’s been quite a while since we’ve heard about the Akatsuki and Too Kyo  Games title Tribe Nine, especially as more news was supposed to appear in 2023, but now an official site is open, trailer is live, and closed beta test is on the way. As a reminder, this is the free-to-play, Extreme Baseball JRPG where teams go around Neo-Tokyo trying to free the city.

While Tribe Nine will be available on mobile devices and PCs, the closed beta test will only be held on Steam. People can sign up on the official site for a chance to be picked to play. There is a section there to , and there’s no cut-off date for g up yet. Note that this beta will only be available in English, Japanese, and both simplified and traditional Chinese. Those who are picked will be emailed and get to test it in July 2024.

On August 18, 2023, Akatsuki Games held an online presentation titled "Akatsuki Games Now" to announce the latest information on the company's projects. One of those titles was Tribe Nine, a 3D action RPG developed by Too Kyo Games. A new key visual and teaser trailer for Tribe Nine was shown, along with an announcement that the game will be released on Steam as well as iOS and Android devices. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]

The models shown in the teaser trailer are confirmed to be the actual in-game models. In the teaser, we get a closer look at the setting and atmosphere of Neo-Tokyo, a key element Kodaka prioritized during development. We also see an array of new faces and character sprites.

Tribe Nine originally began development in 2020. A release date was not revealed at the end of the teaser trailer. As a reminder, writers and artists behind the Danganronpa series and the newly released Master Detective Archives: Rain Code are involved. Kazutaka Kodaka is the writer, Rui Komatsuzaki is the character designer, and Masafumi Takada is the composer.

Tribe Nine's release date is currently still unknown, but it will be available on the PC via Steam and mobile devices. The anime series is available to stream on Crunchyroll.

In a feature in Famitsu for New Year’s resolutions, Akatsuki Games teased that there will be a lot of announcements in 2023 for Tribe Nine. That is its 3D action RPG that is currently in development. Since it is part of a multimedia franchise, those who are curious about it can watch the anime series for it, which is available on Crunchyroll. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

Akatsuki Games is the publisher while Too Kyo Games is the developer. Tribe Nine, like Master Detective Archives: Rain Code, features the creative minds beyond Danganronpa. Like Danganronpa, Kazutaka Kodaka created it, with Rui Komatsuzaki providing the character designs and Masafumi Takada composing the music. Too Kyo Games first announced its development in 2020.

Since then, though, there has not been much information on the game. It will be a 3D action RPG with sports elements. The story takes place in a dystopian future in which Tribes (essentially gangs) run amok in Neo-Tokyo. The “XB Law” forces the Tribes to duke it out through “Extreme Baseball,” which is exactly what the name implies.

Tribe Nine is in development, and we do not yet know when it will come out. According to Akatsuki Games, it will release more information on the Tribe Nine game in 2023. However, Akatsuki Games did not provide a timeline for when to expect news on it.

Tribe Nine follows different gangs in Tokyo who participate in “extreme baseball,” which is so intense that they usually look more like street fights. Akatsuki and Too Kyo Games first announced Tribe Nine in February 2020. Other pieces of Tribe Nine media that will debut soon include a mobile game. There is also already a 4-koma manga series that is available from the Tribe Nine Twitter .

Like the newly-announced Enigma Archives: Rain Code, Tribe Nine is the brainchild of the Danganronpa creative team. Kodaka returns as the writer, Takada as the music composer, and Komatsuzaki as the character designer.

After teasing a new project named Tribe Nine, Akatsuki and Too Kyo Games officially released the teaser trailer for the IP. It shows something like anime cyberpunk baseball being played in Tokyo. Apart from the concept trailer, Famitsu has also released an interview with Akatsuki’s Shuuhei Yamaguchi and Too Kyo’s Kazutaka Kodaka talking about the game's conception and themes.

Here are the highlights below:

• Kodaka was the one who came up with the concept of Tribe Nine around the time they announced the formation of Too Kyo Games. He approached Yamaguchi with not even a game design proposal, but rather just an image board with a few key words written down on it. Through lots of discussions, they finally came to the stage where they felt they could make something fun out of it. So the project is finally able to move onto actual production. This concept movie was made in order to correctly understand the direction they are going with this title.

• Kodaka wants people to focus on the "atmosphere" of the characters, world, battles, and music, and imagine what the IP will be like going forward.

• There's a lot of baseball imagery, not only in the trailer, but the logo, which is shaped by a baseball diamond. According to Yamaguchi, "Tokyo," extreme sports" and "street fights" are the three keywords of the game.

• In this world they have conceived, there are various outlaw gangs in each of Tokyo's 23 wards that fight each other via "Extreme Baseball," which takes place across the the entire ward. However, "Extreme Baseball" is not a sport. Thus, it doesn't take place in a stadium, but rather encomes entire wards, bringing in the characteristics of each ward.

• Kodaka says that Tribe Nine uses baseball precisely because they wanted battles to take place utilizing all of what cities have to offer. For example, for Shibuya City, you'd go from Shibuya Center Gai to Takeshita Street (near Harajuku Station), and tour the city's famous spots, which act as "bases". In this sense, baseball is good, because for a sport like soccer, you'd be going back and forth instead. Kodaka feels that it would be fun to battle at various places that define the areas, although it's so exaggerated that people who live there will probably feel like they're being made fun of.

• Based on each ward's theme, they have designed the characters based on that particular theme. Rui Komatsuzaki (Danganronpa character designer) and Simadoriru (Danganronpa V3 manga artist) will be the main character designers, but Kodaka is open to the idea of having various guest artists.

• Why Tokyo? Kodaka says it's to appeal to overseas players as well, in order to let overseas players know more about Tokyo. That's why the character designs and backgrounds also have a Tokyo-esque pop aesthetic. Yamaguchi mentions that they are keeping in mind that the world's recognition towards Tokyo will likely increase thanks to the Olympics. However, that said, the setting of the title is the fictional Neo Tokyo Country and not Tokyo itself.

• Essentially everyone in Too Kyo Games is participating in this IP, as they decided to go big on it. But in of what content is being made, this isn't as clear-cut. A game is definitely being made for the IP, although they aren't revealing the genre or platforms yet. Kodaka only promises that there'll definitely be a story, and that the scenario will fit the platform. Kodaka imagines this will be a giant multi-media project and hopes that there will be an anime and manga as well, perhaps with different characters as the focus, and also board games. He wants this to be ideally like the MCU, where you'll be able to enjoy the anime, game, and more on their own merits, but each one expands the world of more and more.

• Finally, Yamaguchi stressed once again that the project is just getting started and clearly stated that the game is in no way ready enough to enter pre-registration just a few months later. (The usage of pre-registration hints that the game might be for smartphones.) They'll be going silent on information on the content going forward.\

Akatsuki and Too Kyo Games will team up for a new collaborative IP titled “Tribe Nine." A teaser website is set to launch on February 20, 2020 and will feature a concept video and more details about this new project. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

Famitsu will also do a feature interview with Akatsuki’s Shuuhei Yamaguchi and Tookyo’s Kazutaka Kodaka. In the interview, Yamaguchi and Kodaka will give more details about Tribe Nine’s concept and the development of the project. The interview will be released on February 20th at 10am JST on the Famitsu App.

Too Kyo Games is a Tokyo-based studio founded in 2017 by Kotaro Uchikoshi, director and writer for999 and Virtue’s Last Reward, and Kazutaka Kodaka of Danganronpa fame. In 2019, they announced their new game Death March Club, which is set to come to Windows PC in 2020.  Additionally, their FMV adventure game Death Come True is set to release in June 2020 for Android, iOS, Windows, Nintendo Switch, and the PlayStation 4.

On the other hand, Akatsuki is a smartphone game producer for both Android and iOS. Over the past few years, Akatsuki has partnered with Square Enix (Romancing SaGa Re; universe), Kadokawa (Hachigatsu no Cinderella Nine), and currently produce Jazz-On, a mobile game centered around two battling Jazz clubs at a high school in Yokohama.

Currently, there is no information about which platforms Tribe Nine will be released on. However, Akatsuki primarily produces mobile games, so this might be a t project that could potentially see a release on a mobile platform.
