Behaviour Interactive announced that Tokyo Ghoul is the next Dead by Daylight crossover and confirmed that means Ken Kaneki will be a playable character. He’s available to test out later on March 11, 2025, if you get access to the Steam public test build. However, his official launch doesn’t come until April 2, 2025, when cosmetics based on other characters from the anime and manga series and masks will appear. 

There are very few details on how Ken Kaneki will function as the new killer called The Ghoul in Dead by Daylight, but we should know details soon considering he’s in the public test build later today. We do know he’s a “bad guy” here, rather than being a hero like he is in the original anime and manga. He will still use his Rinkaku Kagune tentacles to move and attack. Behaviour also mentioned an Enraged Mode, which almost sounds a bit like it resembles his Rinkaku Kakuja state. 

As for the other characters who will appear as part of the Dead by Daylight Tokyo Ghoul crossover, there’s a list of some of the cosmetics debuting when that launches in April 2025. Here’s what we’ll see:

One of the last crossovers in Dead by Daylight involved Castlevania. If someone picked up that $7.99 Chapter DLC after it debuted in August 2024, they got access to the Killer Dracula and Survivor Trevor Belmont. Since then, a Doomed Course add-on brought The Houndmaster Killer and Survivor Taurie Cain in November 2024. 

Dead by Daylight is available on the PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox Series X, and PC. The Tokyo Ghoul DLC debuts officially on April 2, 2025. The Tokyo Ghoul anime is streaming on Crunchyroll, while Viz Media handles the manga outside Japan.

Crunchyroll announced release dates for its anime Blu-ray sets and Steelbooks, and Frieren and Tokyo Ghoul are among them. In the case of Frieren, it covers the first part of the anime for $47.24. Meanwhile, the Tokyo Ghoul set is an $80.99 complete edition for its 10th anniversary. In total, the company plans to release 10 items throughout December 2024. 

In the case of the Frieren Part 1 anime Blu-ray and DVD combo set, it packs 16 episodes onto five discs. Only four special features are present. You get to see the PVs and previews, as well as the alternate versions of the opening and ending that don’t feature any text. Each of the discs has one of the main characters on it. That will ship on December 17, 2024. 

In the case of the Tokyo Ghoul complete series Blu-ray box set, it includes absolutely everything in honor of the anime series’ 10th anniversary. It has 48 episodes on eight discs. So you get all three anime seasons, the Tokyo Ghoul: Jack OVA, the Tokyo Ghoul: Pinto OVA, the opening and ending with no text, a collection of ads, PVs, and trailers, and Kaneki in Black and White. That will launch on December 31, 2024.

Funimation Entertainment and GameSamba have finalized the name for the mobile game based on the Tokyo Ghoul anime series, in addition to revealing new details about the game’s modes. Titled Tokyo Ghoul: Dark War, the game will feature several multiplayer modes in addition to a single player storyline.   The single player and multiplayer modes are described by the developer as follows:  

The first is the single player quest/story mode, which will take players on an episodic journey where they’ll face an onslaught of human or ghoul foes in real-time action-RPG combat. Players will be able to control a party of characters, and unleash powerful special skills.

Tokyo Ghoul: Dark War will also feature a variety of multiplayer modes. The first is a traditional player vs player (PvP) arena, where players can compete against one another in fights, to see who has the stronger team. The other multiplayer mode is an experience inspired by MOBA gameplay, and players will participate in 1v1, 3v3, or 5v5 matches against other players as they attempt to take out the enemy team.

  Tokyo Ghoul: Dark War is expected to release this winter on Android and iOS devices. Players interested beta opportunities can sign up for the game’s newsletter on the official website.

GameSamba and FUNimation Entertainment have announced that they’re making an action-RPG mobile game based on the anime series Tokyo Ghoul. It’ll be available in English worldwide on iOS and Android in 2016.

The game will focus on the conflict between humans and the Commission of Counter Ghoul’s forces. You’ll have to pick a side and will help to determine which path the conflict takes by either hunting or protecting humans.

This is a separate Tokyo Ghoul game to the one that Bandai Namco is developing for PlayStation Vita.

FUNimation also took the opportunity to note that the home video release and the digital HD dub version of Tokyo Ghoul Season 1 will be available on September 22nd 2015. The Tokyo Ghoul anime TV series will air its third season in Japan in 2016.

Bandai Namco is developing a video game based on the Tokyo Ghoul series. The title, Tokyo Ghoul Masquerader, was announced in V-Jump without any details other than it's an "adventure RPG" for PlayStation Vita.

A Tokyo Ghoul anime series aired in Japan last summer, which was licensed in North America by Funimation.
