Timi Studio, Activision and Square Enix announced that the Call of Duty Mobile NieR: Automata event is about to begin, and they also shared the various character skins based on 2B, 9S, and the YoRHa Commander White. Everything starts at 5pm PT/8pm ET on May 30, 2025. 

There are three NieR: Automata character skins in Call of Duty Mobile, though only one can be earned for free. By playing, we can get the 9S costume for Ryotaro "Kui Ji" Nagashima. The 2B and Commander White outfits will show up for Lizbeth "Kestrel" Warnholdt and Fiona St. George, though both of those will appear via the Draw banners. The 2B one also will feature Legendary PP19 Bizon, while the Commander one will have AK47 - Final Apocalypact.

The 9S skin isn’t the only item people can earn by playing Call of Duty Mobile during the event. There are also five weapons. Four of these are based on ones that appeared in NieR: Automata. These are Cruel Blood Oath, Cruel Oath, EM2: Initieno Atonement, Virtuous Contract, and Virtuous Treaty. The remaining item is a Smoke Grenade design to look like the Machine Lifeform enemies from Square Enix’s game.

There’s an official image showing off all of those rewards we can earn, which you can see below.

Call of Duty Mobile is available on Android and Apple iOS devices. NieR: Automata can be found on the Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and the anime is on Crunchyroll. The crossover between the two starts on May 30, 2025, and some rewards are free to earn.

Capcom and Timi Studio announced they are teaming up for te mobile game Monster Hunter Outlanders. It is in development for mobile devices, though there’s no release date yet. 

This entry is going to be an open-world type of title, much like Monster Hunter World or the Wilds. People will be able to go on hunts alone or with three other players. Before launch, Capcom and Timi already confirmed there will be betas held.

Timi Studio worked on multiple mobile games based on popular IP over the last few years. It was responsible for Pokemon Unite, Contra Returns, Call of Duty Mobile, and most recently Metal Slug: Awakening. 

This is the second recent Monster Hunter mobile game. Capcom previously worked with Niantic on Monster Hunter Now. That is a Pokemon GO type of title that involves people ing the game to their phone and walking to real world locations to face monsters from the series. In the time since its launch, more characters from the series have been added and special events have been held in notable locations.

Monster Hunter Outlanders is in development for mobile devices worldwide, with betas planned.

Psyduck finally has a Pokemon Unite release date. The iconic water-type character launches on November 14, 2024. 

There’s no official gameplay footage for Psyduck yet. However, we do know a few things about the unit ahead of its debut. The character will be a er in the game. Also, while most Pokemon do evolve to their later forms, Psyduck won’t. It will remain as-is and not eventually transform into Golduck as you earn experience during a match. As it is a er and water-type, expect it to either primarily inflict debuffs or aid allies. Also, since it is known for some psychic attacks like Confusion, that could come up in the character's moveset in-game.

This is one of three recent playable Pokemon confirmations for the game. Armarouge debuted in September 2024. Darkrai followed in October 2024, likely in honor of Halloween.

As a reminder, there’s another reason to return to Pokemon Unite besides Psyduck ing the game. Timi Studio is celebrating the launch of Pokemon TCG Pocket. You can and claim a snapshot background that looks like the back of Pokemon card. That offer is only available in-game until December 5, 2024.

Back in August, The Pokemon Company International and Timi Studio teased an October launch for Darkrai in Pokemon Unite. Now we have an exact launch date. The character will be playable on October 17, 2024. He will appear alongside the Pokemon Unite Halloween 2024 event.

Here’s the teaser announcement. In addition to showing Darkrai in the background, it also shows the Pokemon Unite Halloween 2024 costumes on the way. Decidueye, Lucario, Mimikyu, and Trevenant all appear in seasonal Holowear costumes in the art. 

There’s no trailer showing how Darkrai plays yet. We do know its role, however. It will be one of the Speedster units in the game. That means if we play as one, our best move is to dash into fights with wild Pokemon and attempt to take enemy Goal Zones.

Darkrai first debuted in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, as well as the follow up Platinum.  In order to catch one, someone needed to get the Member Card to gain access to a special area. (This also applied to the Switch remakes.) It is a Mythical type of Pokemon tied to events. In addition to being playable soon in Pokemon Unite, it was also added to Pokken Tournament after launch for some versions of the game.

Pokemon Unite is available for the Switch and mobile devices. Darkrai will become part of the roster on October 17, 2024. As a reminder, service for the game will end in Belgium and The Netherlands on November 30, 2025.

The Pokemon Company International and Timi Studio announced that three new Pokémon will be playable in the newest update for the mobile and Switch MOBA Pokémon Unite: Armarouge, Darkrai, and Psyduck. The three will make their way to Pokémon Unite in the coming months, with Armarouge leading the charge on September 12, 2024, Darkrai in October 2024, and Psyduck in November 2024.

The announcement was accompanied by a trailer, showcasing the Pokémon and their respective roles. You can see the gameplay footage here:

The showcase for Armarouge shows off its roll as an Attacker. It deploys a type of fire field and uses its cannonto attack wide areas. Darkrai, a speedster type, appears to use a much more tricky playstyle. The showcase shows it trap an enemy Lucario in a nightmare, then use a teleportation skill to appear in unexpected places. It seems this would be designed to confound the enemy and make the Pokemon a more slippery target. Psyduck appears as a er in Pokemon Unite. The trailer showed off its ability to heal allies, cross distances while surfing on a wave, and an attack using waves of psychic energy.

These are the latest additions to Pokémon Unite following Miraidon, Falinks, and Ceruledge in February 2024, April 2024, and June 2024, respectively. The third anniversary update for the game brought the legendary Pokémon Ho-Oh in July 2024.

At this time, there is no announcement as to whether any of these new playable Pokemon will be time limited event units.

Pokemon Unite is available on iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch, and we'll see Armarouge appear as the next new unit on September 12, 2024.

Timi Studio and The Pokemon Company International kicked off 2024 by revealing Magikarp and Gyarados will appear in Pokemon Unite on January 25, 2024. The announcement also confirmed that Magikarp’s “Splash” attack will be tied to its evolution method.

First, here’s the first screenshot of Magikarp in Pokemon Unite, which shows a new gauge below the health bar that is apparently tied to the attack Splash (はねる). The UI in the bottom right also notes the move Flail (じたばた) is present.

There is also a first video showing a Magikarp hopping around the map. The brief teaser shows it taking the southern lane and hopping up to an opposing goal. It then stops there. 

There’s no footage of Gyarados in the game yet.

We saw two new Pokemon appear in Pokemon Unite in December 2023. The first one was Meowscarada. That debuted on December 7, 2023, alongside Sprigatito and Floragato. People can still earn it for free during the Meowscarada’s Flower Petal Challenge until January 10, 2024. On December 26, 2023, Beldum, Metang, and Metagross ed the game. You can get it from the in-game shop for 575 Aeos Gems.

Pokemon Unite is available on the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, and Magikarp and Gyarados debut on January 25, 2024.

On October 19, 2023, Mimikyu will the Pokemon Unite roster, and now we have an exact idea of what the character does. The full moveset for the melee All-Rounder appeared. TiMi Studio also confirmed that this will be an intermediate difficulty character to use.

The official rundown noted Mimikyu’s offense is its highest stat, at four stars, with its mobility at three and a half. Its scoring and stats are both at one star each. It has the Disguise ability, which can reduce damage when it is in Disguised Form and trigger a revenge mark on the person who attacked it to deal increased damage. It goes to Busted Form after this happens, but can head back to usual. Its Unite Move is Play with Me, which shields Mimikyu and lets it deal damage to one enemy.

There are four other moves for the character in game. Move 1 can either be Play Rough or Shadow Claw. It learns one of those two at level five. Move 2 can end up being either Shadow Sneak or Trick Room. One of those two is learned at level seven.

There is also a fairly recent video showing Mimikyu’s various attacks in action. We get to see it face other Pokemon, as well as score some points.

While Mimikyu is the only Pokemon to appear in-game in October 2023, we did see another addition not long ago. On September 14, 2023, Blaziken ed the cast. Prior to that, we saw Mewtwo the roster for the game’s second anniversary.

Pokemon Unite is available on the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, and Mimikyu will debut in-game on October 19, 2023.

Mewtwo is about to Pokemon Unite. The character will the roster on July 21, 2023. There are no details on its moveset or abilities yet. However, it will be part of the second anniversary celebration for the game. The art also teases the Mega Mewtwo X and Y forms. Update: Timi Studio and The Pokemon Company International confirmed that it is Mega Mewtwo X ing on July 21, 2023, with Mega Mewtwo Y appearing in August 2023.

Here's the official announcement. Mewtwo is in the front. To the left behind the Pokemon is Mega Mewtwo Y. On the right is Mega Mewtwo X. This could suggest that when someone plays as the character, they'll be able to evolve it into one of those two forms, which were introduced in Pokemon X and Y.

Quite a few new characters appeared in Pokemon Unite lately. As part of the Eevee Festival, both Umbreon and Leafeon ed. Umbreon showed up first on May 25, 2023. Leafeon followed on June 8, 2023. More recently however, Inteleon will the cast on July 3, 2023. When it does, it will be able to get either Orange or Purple Holowear to set it apart from other characters.

Pokemon Unite is available for the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, and we'll see Mewtwo the cast on July 21, 2023.

More Eevee evolutions are coming to Pokemon Unite as playable characters, with Leafeon and Umbreon on the way. The official Twitter announced an Eevee Festival that will celebrate current and characters. The Japanese site offered even more details, providing release dates for both. Umbreon will the game on May 25, 2023. Leafeon will follow on June 8, 2023. Inteleon will also eventually the game, according to the Japanese update.

Here's the official announcement for the new characters and event. Like current playable evolutions Espeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon, Leafeon and Umbreon will start out as Eevee. As people play, they’ll then eventually level up to their final forms over the course of the map.

More information on how Chandelure will play in Pokemon Unite will come out later. In mainline Pokemon games, Chandelure is the final form of the Litwick evolution line, and is a dual Ghost/Fire Type. It previously appeared in Pokken Tournament as well as a playable fighter. Competitively speaking, Chandelure has very high Special Attack, and its typing makes it immune to many dangers such as Stealth Rock.

Aside from Chandelure, Cynthia and her team of champion-level trainers will appear in random battles from April 21 to May 22, 2023. She will have her signature Garchomp with her. Other trainers on Cynthia’s team are Leon, Korrina, Raihan, and Green. You can get a Trainer Battle Challenge Trainer for free once every day, or you can use Aeos Coins to purchase them. After you save up enough Trainer Battle Coins from fighting Cynthia, you can get her outfit.

The official Pokemon Unite Twitter announced that Lapras will be the next Pokemon to the roster. Lapras will become available in the game on April 13, 2023. No other information about its moves or battle type were given, but the official Pokemon Unite Youtube channel usually puts out a video detailing a new Pokemon's moves shortly before they become available in game..

Lapras is an ice and water type from the original Pokemon generation. It also appeared several times in the original anime, where Ash and friends travelled between various islands by riding on its back. In the original Pokemon Red and Blue, it was available as a gift during events in Saffron City. In the more recent Sword and Shield it had a gigantamax form.

New characters have been added to Pokemon Unite at a rapid pace, with the previous addition being the Dragon-type Pokemon Goodra. As a defender type, Goodra specialized in survivability with moves that heal itself and slow enemies. This year also saw Zacian and Comfey the list of playable Pokemon, with Dragapult and Urshifu ing in December 2022.

Pokemon Unite is immediately available on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices. Lapras will the game's roster on April 13th 2023.

Goodra is about to be yet another one of the new Pokemon to Pokemon Unite in 2023, and new videos detailed some of the defender’s moves. As a tank type of character, its goal will be to help soak up damage. Its Power Whip gets an opponent closer to it, while Dragon Pulse deals damage while increasing survivability.

First, here’s the look at Power Whip. It could be used to pull in a foe, which could make it easier for Goodra to attack it and keep it from attacking allies.

At the February 27, 2023 Pokemon Presents, the game announcements kicked off with a new Pokemon for the Pokemon Unite roster, Zacian. The legendary will be the latest playable character. It will include its Sovereign Sword attack. There will also be a dapper Holowear suit for the character. It is available in the game immediately.

The reveals also included some details about in-game events. For example, the Adventure in Zacian’s Weald event will kick off today. people can earn new rewards by playing. There is also a Boss Rush event for people to take part in. Finally, if you enter the code “POKEMONDAY” into the game, you’ll get a gold Zacian Emblem you can use.

This marks the second new Pokemon to Pokemon Unite in 2023. The first was Comfey. It’s a er that is designed to help its allies. However, it can attack as needed as a ranged unit.

Before that, Dragapult appeared. It basically was a final hours of 2022 one. It launched on December 29, 2022, right before the year ended. It is a ranged physical attacker, and it’s designed with more experienced players in mind.

The first new Pokemon in Pokemon Unite for 2023 was revealed, and it is Comfey. This is a character that resembles a flower garland or Hawaiian lei, and it first appeared in Pokemon Sun and Moon. It will the cast on February 2, 2023.

The announcement didn't note what role the Pokemon will play in-game. In mainline installments, Comfey doesn't feature any evolutions. It is a fairy type known for its ive skills. For example, some of its notable abilities include Draining Kiss, Floral Healing, Flower Shield, and Petal Blizzard. As such, it could end up being a er in Pokemon Unite, like Blissey.

As a reminder, the last Pokemon to Pokemon Unite was Dragapult. It showed up right before last year ended, debuting on December 29, 2022. Ushifu appeared at the beginning of that month as well.

However, in a recent 2022 data analysis update, The Pokemon Company International and Timi Studio revealed older Pokemon, rather than new ones in Pokemon Unite, still proved most popular among players. Pikachu was the most used unit in 2022, followed by Greninja and Charizard.

Now that 2022 is over, The Pokemon Company and Timi Studio offered something of a year-in-review for Pokemon Unite. The company took to Twitter to share various updates on things that happened in the game throughout last year. Some of them had to do with their own work, such as characters added. However, players accomplishment and notable feats were shared. For example, it revealed the top three characters used in battles in Pokemon Unite in 2022.

The most used character from January 1, 2022 to December 22, 2022 is Pikachu. Players used the electric mouse a total of 129,186,809 times. It is a ranged attacker who has been a part of the game since launch. Second place went to Greninja, with 103,402,378 uses. Like Pikachu, that Pokemon is also a ranged attacker in the game. Finally, Charizard rounded out the top three in-game with 101,925,049 uses. It is the only odd-one-out here, as it is a melee all-rounder.

This is one of multiple stats released for Pokemon Unite, as the reveals didn’t just focus on character usage. It turns out 2,082,549,005 battles were fought between January 1, 2022 and December 22, 2022. Timi Studio also added 18 new Pokemon to the game throughout the year. The last one of them was Dragapult, which ed the roster on December 29, 2022. Urshifu also appeared in December 2022.
