Tanita has been working on the production of a measuring device modeled after SNK's Neo Geo cabinets. The company has newly announced that the Neo Geo-like device, which will consist of a clock, thermometer, and hygrometer, will also contain BGMs from SNK's games like The King of Fighters '95.

In the Japanese announcement tweet, the company noted that it chose KOF '95 because its staff considered the game to be a hallmark in the series for introducing the Team Edit System. The same staff are also choosing specific tunes that would symbolize the entry.

The King of Fighters '95 will not be the only game to have its soundtrack featured on this device. Tanita has also shared teaser images for three more titles in the same announcement. As an example, the lower left image is based on the Japanese logo for Garou Densetsu Special, which is better known in the West as Fatal Fury Special.

Tanita has also been working on more game-themed measuring devices with SNK. Previously in late 2024, it revealed a body composition monitor with a playable copy of The King of Fighters '98 that cost 2.2 million yen or around $14,340.

The Neo Geo-shaped measuring device that can act as a clock, thermometer, and hygrometer is still undergoing production. SNK has given its approval to mass-produce the device on January 21, 2025. However, it will still take more time until Tanita is ready to put the product up for pre-orders.

The visor cap worn by SNK's popular fighting game series character Terry Bogard will appear in the real world. Cospa will produce and sell the cap based on the character's appearance in The King of Fighters XV.

Cospa has also opened pre-orders for the cap at ¥4,730 (~$30.65) with a release window in late March 2025. While the web store only s direct shipments inside Japan, the company allows people outside the country to place orders with third-party forwarding proxies.

Cospa will use pure polyester and cotton to produce these caps. The item will be most compatible with people who have a head diameter between 58~60 cm (22.83~23.62 inches). The company will make sure the Fatal Fury logo on the front side is embroidered accurately to the in-game model. The cap's back side will also have a snap fastener to match SNK's setting descriptions.

Health equipment manufacturer Tanita announced a new line of machines designed to check your body health while playing KOF ’98. Four different pieces of equipment are featured as part of this collaboration, and they are now available for pre-order from the Tanita online store. [Thanks, Game Watch!]

The Tanita multi-frequency body composition monitor The King of Fighters model is the first and most expensive item in the lineup, costing 2.2 million yen (or approximately $14,380.) Aside from monitoring the body and condition of its by offering data on weight, body fat, muscle mass, body water percentage, and various metabolic functions and statistics, the machine lets people get a health check while they play KOF ’98.

The body monitor includes a 10.4-inch LCD monitor used to display body health information and to play the 5th title in The King of Fighters series. Additionally, the machine is decorated with art from KOF ’98 featuring the main cast of the game. You can check out the machine here:

The other equipment includes a pedometer equipped with a 3D sensor featuring motifs inspired by the Neo Geo arcade system, as well as a digital thermo-hygrometer available in a Neo Geo model and a The King of Fighters model featuring character Kyo Kusanagi. Both the pedometer and thermo-hygrometer cost 3,520 yen (~$23) each.

SNK has revealed that it will release two physical compilations of classic Neo Geo arcade titles for Nintendo Switch in Japan. The Arcade Archives Neo Geo Selection will be available in two volumes in December 2024.

Each volume will contain exactly ten titles each, so this compilation will feature twenty titles in total. The lineup will also include the first two King of Fighters and Samurai Shodown titles based on the series' chronological timeline order. Each volume will also have a Fatal Fury and Metal Slug entry.

SNK has no plans to release the compilation digitally because the titles are already available for individual purchases on the Nintendo eShop at 838 yen (~$5.85) each before discount sales. Each of the physical compilation volumes will cost 5,940 yen (~$41.50).

Capcom has launched a new Street Fighter 6 Fighting ahead of Terry Bogard's inclusion in September 2024, and it features numerous content themed after SNK games. The "Terry Arrives!" contains content from the Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters games.

Some of the new ' highlights include sets of avatar gears that will let players have their avatars cosplay as Andy Bogard and Joe Higashi. It will also include the stage themes for Terry, Andy, and Joe from Fatal Fury Special. There is also a new set of stickers that features more Fatal Fury series characters like Jubei Yamada, Duck King, and Kim Kaphwan.

The Fighting will also come with an SNK-themed challenger screen effect and a King of Fighters photo frame. Capcom's 1997 arcade game Battle Circuit—which is also the only content not related to SNK in this —completes the rewards list.

Capcom has been launching a new Fighting before it releases an extra character. Terry will not be the only SNK guest character to appear in Street Fighter 6, as Mai Shiranui will also him in the game's Year 2 content lineup. The new year started with the return of M. Bison—the dictator alternatively known as Vega in Japan—in June 2024. The Street Fighter III debutant Elena will complete the roster for the year.

The "Terry Arrives!" Fighting has appeared in the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, and PC fighting game Street Fighter 6. Capcom will formally add Terry Bogard as a new DLC character on September 24, 2024.

SNK has opened a new official website and X to mark the 30th anniversary of The King of Fighters series. The new publications coincided with the inaugural release of The King of Fighters '94 for arcades on August 25, 2024.

The company also revealed that it will publish 30 programs to coincide with the anniversary number. The company has shared sketches for the ending scene of The King of Fighters '94 on the Japanese for the first publication. It will continue publishing concept art on a daily basis until September 5, 2024.

SNK has also revealed plans for the next two programs on the website. The company will move on to publishing posters of the series' classic entries from September 6, 2024. It will then release new digital stickers and smartphone wallpapers themed after The King of Fighters' 30th anniversary on September 13, 2024. The remaining 27 projects have yet to be announced when the company just established the new website.

The series' latest mainline entry is The King of Fighters XV, which has been available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC since February 2022. SNK still has not done improving the game's character roster, as it will add Vice and Mature as bonus DLC characters in December 2024.

Kotobukiya announced that the KOF 2001 Angel Bishoujo figure is now available to pre-order via Sideshow, with shipping expected late this year. The figure was previously teased back in August 2023, with a painted prototype appearing earlier in February 2024.

The figure will cost $130 or ¥20,146 with shipping dated between November 2024 and January 2025. The design was based on her original appearance in The King of Fighters 2001 and illustrated by Shunya Yamashita with sculpting by ke (comaccow), both of whom have also worked on several other figures in the Bishoujo Line. Made of ABS and PVC, she stands approximately 5.51" or 14 cm tall and purchases are limited to a maximum of 6 per customer.

Earlier in February 2024, Kotobukiya also announced the development of new figures for 2B and 9S from Nier: Automata, along with images of upainted prototypes. Meanwhile, KOF fans can pre-order a new figure of Mai Shiranui from Good Smile's Pop Up Parade line.

Good Smile Company has revealed and opened pre-orders for its Pop Up Parade figure of Mai Shiranui. It will use her appearance in The King of Fighters 97 as the primary reference for this figure. The non-scale static figure will have an approximate height of 170mm (6.69in).

People who reside in the U.S. and Canada can order the figure on Good Smile Online Shop U.S. at $31.99. Those living elsewhere worldwide can instead place orders on the company's international web store at ¥4,800 / €33.90.

The new Pop Up Parade of Mai Shiranui will be Good Smile Company's first King of Fighters character figure to be made after the previous batch in 2017. In that year, the company released Nendoroids of Mai and Kyo Kusanagi, as well as figmas of Kyo and Iori Yagami.

This figure will not be the only one to feature the KOF 97 version of Mai. In 2022, Tunshi Studio released a 1/6 scale seamless action figure based on the same version. However, Tunshi's action figure featured a realistic face, while the newer Pop Up Parade figure will have a more anime-esque facial design.

Good Smile Company will close pre-orders for the Pop Up Parade figure of Mai Shiranui from The King of Fighters 97 on February 22, 2024. It will formally release the figure in Japan in July 2024 and in North America in Q4 2024.

A new SNK crossover mobile game will appear worldwide, including in Japan. Nuverse has revealed the Japanese version of SNK: All-Star Fight, which will be known as SNK Fight! Path to the Strongest. The game's closed beta test will run on Android devices in Japan from June 22 to July 1, 2022. The company also announced Fall 2022 as the Japanese release window for the mobile game, which will also be available on iOS devices.

SNK: All-Star Fight will be an RPG featuring characters from SNK franchises depicted in 3D with cel-shading. The roster will feature not only the company's fighting games like The King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown, and The Last Blade, but also the run-and-gun game series Metal Slug.

Nuverse had previously revealed the Chinese and English versions of the crossover mobile game. It held a closed beta test for the English release on May 17-26, 2022.

SNK has been working with other companies to release mobile games based on its franchises. However, the fact that many of them have All-Star in the title may cause some confusion. The company previously worked with 37Games to release a mobile crossover RPG titled SNK Allstar in 2019. The latter shut down the game in Japan in late November 2021.

SNK also worked with Netmarble to produce The King of Fighters All Star, a beat 'em up action game with RPG elements that appeared in Japan in 2018 and globally in 2019. This game is still in active service as of this writing. It is also famous for adding guest characters from other company franchises, such as Tekken, Dead or Alive, Guilty Gear, and Street Fighter.

SNK: All-Star Fight will be available for Android and iOS devices worldwide. The mobile game will have a Fall 2022 launch window in Japan.

SNK announced that the SNK Online Shop will be closing in 2022. The last day to create an or make purchases will be May 31, 2022 at 1 a.m. PT/4 a.m. ET/10 a.m. CET/5 p.m. JST. All services will close at that same time on June 17, 2022. SNK didn’t note how it might handle continued sales of exclusive merchandise.

The SNK Online Shop carried various merchandise tied to some of its largest franchises. For example, the outlet currently still sells items based on Fatal Fury, The King of Fighters, Metal Slug, and Samurai Shodown. It also would carry exclusive products, though that category is empty at the moment. Among the possible items people could get would be acrylic stands of characters, plush toys, clothing, books, and games.

It hasn’t been too long since SNK announced new merchandise pre-orders for the storefront. At the end of March 2022, it opened pre-orders for Metal Slug X acrylic stands of Eri, Fio, Marco, and Tarma. Those cost ¥1,222 (~$10) each and are expected to ship in May 2022. Other recent additions included Samurai Shodown VI acrylic stands, KOF acrylic smartphone stands, and NeoGeo merchandise.

People can place orders at the SNK Online Shop until May 31, 2022, and the store will close for good on June 17, 2022.

Athena Asamiya from KOF 98 is officially ing the SNK Bishoujo figure line. Kotobukiya announced the figure alongside an illustration of the character in bishoujo style. The figure will release sometime in Summer 2023. There is no confirmed price or release date.

Athena is the third character to appear in the SNK Bishoujo figure series. She first appeared as the main character of Psycho Soldier, released in 1986. While the character has since appeared in various forms across the KOF series, this particular figure is based on her appearance in The King of Fighters '98.

Originally announced in March 2021, the SNK Bishoujo series will include characters from SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy as well as KOF 98. Artist Shunya Yamashita will provide reference illustrations. On the figure's official page, Yamashita stated that he is proud to be part of the project as there are very few figures of Athena from KOF 98.

Yamashita has worked closely with Kotobukiya in the past. He's created designs for various other bishoujo figures, including the most recent Mai Shiranui figure. He also worked on the female version figure of Terry Bogard from SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy.

SNK announced another Mai Shiranui figure is on the way, and this time it is a seamless action figure from Tunshi Studio. It is 1/6th scale, which means she will be about 10 inches tall. Its normal price is listed as $235 on Moz Figure, but she is currently going for $205.

This version of Mai Shiranui is based on her KOF 97 look. She’s wearing fabric clothing. In addition to the figure, you get an umbrella for her to hold, a fan that can be posed open or closed, and an additional fan that is on “fire.” She also comes with extra left and right hand parts for different poses. A stand is included as well.

This isn’t the only Mai Shiranui figure on the way in 2022. Kotobukiya’s been working on one too. Unlike this one, that is a static figure. It is a new entry in the company’s Bishoujo figure line. That one is expected to launch in September 2022 and will cost $119.99.

The Tunshi Studio Mai Shiranui action figure will launch in Q3 2022. Pre-orders are open through Moz Figure until February 25, 2022. Mai’s next video game appearance will be in KOF XV on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on February 17, 2022.

The KOF 98 Mai Shiranui Bishoujo figure is on the way in 2022. However, depending on where you live, you might see her sooner. The official Kotobukiya website lists an estimated August 2022 release window for her in Japan. However, the Sideshow says to expect her between September and November 2022 in North America. She’ll cost $120.

This version of Mai is a 1/7th scale figure. She’s expected to stand at about eight inches tall. She’s wearing her outfit from the game. Her stand also references the JAPAN STREET stage in-game. The design is based on Shunya Yamashita art, as all Bishoujo ones are.

Back in March 2021, Kotobukiya announced that SNK characters would its line of Bishoujo figures. At the time, it only teased characters from The King of Fighters ‘98 and SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy. It wasn’t until August 2021 that Mai Shiranui was confirmed as the first character in the collection. In December 2021, it noted that the second one would be the female version of Terry Bogard from SNK Heroines. There’s no release date or prototype for her yet, though her concept art is online.

Adventure Planning Service announced its collaboration with SNK to add the fighting styles of Kyo Kusanagi and Mai Shiranui, popular characters from The King of Fighters franchise, to the tabletop ninja battle RPG Shinobigami. The company will distribute the collaboration datasheets for free at Game Market 2021 Spring, which will be held physically at Tokyo Big Sight on April 10-11, 2021. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]

Shinobigami is a tabletop RPG depicting battles between undercover ninja clans in modern-era Japan. Designed for around 3-7 players, a game session that creates a dramatic original story will run for a few hours. Each player will create a character who secretly belongs to one of the six default factions. They will take turns in interacting, fighting, or even bonding with other characters. Those who have the KOF datasheets for Shinobigami can incorporate Kyo's ancient martial arts and Mai's Ninjutsu into character repertoires.

This tabletop game is also available in English. The translated rule book is available for purchase digitally on itch.io and DriveThruRPG. However, an English translation of the KOF datasheets has yet to be revealed.

Both Kyo Kusanagi and Mai Shiranui have been confirmed in the roster for the mainline KOF title, The King of Fighters XV. SNK is currently working on the new fighting game with a 2021 release window.

If you've been playing The King of Fighters ALLSTAR, you've probably spent a few thousand rubies on pulls. Even if you haven't spent a dime of real money, ALLSTAR has been running since October 2019, and that's plenty of time to rack up free currency. Either way, SNK and Netmarble kicked off the King of Fighters ALLSTAR Ruby Refund event, and it's a doozy. Based on your ruby spending to date, you get a lump sum of limited-use rubies. (There's a cap of 20,000.) But the festivities don't end there.

By limited-use rubies, we mean these ones come with a deadline. When you get your King of Fighters ALLSTAR ruby refund, you have until July 22, 2020 to use them. If you have normal rubies, the temporary ones will be used first for any purchases. If you're new, don't fret--the minimum payout is still 10,000 rubies. But if you've spent at least 20,000 before the May 27 cutoff point, you get the full refund.

In addition to the refund, there's also a set of daily tasks for the duration of the event, which will last for roughly 20 days. Each task comes with ruby rewards, and a daily bonus will also net an additional 10,000 limited-time rubies if you show up at least seven days.

Basically, if you've been needing specific fighters or battle cards to bolster your roster but hesitate to spend rubies between big events, now's the time. These bonus rubies have an expiration date, so don't feel bad for blowing them. That's the whole point!
