Some sort of Palworld crossover is on the way. Pocketpair announced a collaboration with another game. Exact details about how it will work are slim, but Palworld and Terraria will come together in some way in 2025.

There’s only a teaser image for the Palworld Terraria crossover at the moment. It doesn’t offer any details about how it will work. It is unknown if this means Pals and types of inspired equipment could show up in Terraria. Or, perhaps it might mean some Terraria monsters and equipment could appear in Pocketpair’s title. The teaser image shows a Terraria warrior and bunny on one side. On the other is a Palworld avatar with the Cattiva, Chillet, and Depresso Pals.

It isn’t uncommon for elements of Terraria to show up in other games. For example, Moonstone Island features a crossover with the game. You can get the Coolslime in it. Stardew Valley also featured similar crossovers, with Joja Cola being in Terraria and the Meowmere Sword in Stardew Valley

Palworld is in early access on the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the actively updated versions of Terraria are available on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile devices. The crossover between the two games will appear in 2025.

Terraria 1.4 Switch Update Appears, Lacks Some Multiplayer Options

The Nintendo Switch is more up to date when it comes to Terraria, as the 1.4 Journey’s End update is here. However, it won’t be exactly what people expect. The announcement included confirmation of things identical to other platforms’ 1.4. It also brought up Switch-specific additions and losses. Namely, the Switch update will include some missing Terraria multiplayer elements like cross-play, local multiplayer, and splitscreen details. It first went live on PCs in May 2020.

In the case of the Terraria Switch multiplayer details, quite a few of them involve things that could be available after additional patches. For example, there is only splitscreen for two players at the moment. You can only take part in that offline. However, it could appear as an option later. There’s also only online or same console splitscreen multiplayer, as local multiplayer isn’t available yet. Cross-play isn’t an option for the Switch version of Terraria, but that could change “once all active platforms are at content parity.”

However, the Switch version of Terraria 1.4 also offers unique updates. The touch and gamepad controls are refined. There will also be an updated UI. When someone plays splitscreen on the same console, you will also be able to choose between a horizontal or vertical split.

Here’s a trailer going over the update. It adds a Journey mode, over 1,000 items, new enemies, new music, and new difficulty options.

Terraria is available on the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Wii U, PS3, PS4, Vita, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, Google Stadia, and mobile devices.

People hoping to play Terraria on Stadia won’t have that option. The 2D action game where you can build to your heart’s content, craft items, and fight various enemies won’t appear on the service. This comes after the Google belonging to Andrew Spinks, the game’s designer and programmer, ended up disabled for “over three weeks.”

Spinks took to Twitter to explain what was going on. The developer lost access to everything that would use a Google . Specifically, Spinks mentioned losing Google Play access (and income from it) and a 15-year-old Gmail address.

Here’s a portion of Spinks’ statement.

Spinks mention of the cancelation is the first remark about Terraria on the service. It never showed up during any Stadia announcements or presentations.

Terraria is available on the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Wii U, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, and mobile devices. There will be no Terraria Stadia version.

During a Pipeworks Studio Terraria Console Gameplay Showcase, a new release window was offered for future content. 1.3 has been expected to appear on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in 2017. The 1.3 update came to the PC version of Terraria in June 2015. Due to various restrictions, the 1.3 update will not be coming to the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Wii U, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and Xbox 360.

You can see the Terraria 1.3 Console Gameplay Showcase, which looks at some of the new and endgame items, in Pipeworks Studio’s latest video.

505 Games and Terraria creator and developer Andrew Spinks of Re-Logic announced that the game will be headed to Wii U on June 28 in North America and June 24 in Europe. [Thanks, Nintendo Everything.]

The side-scrolling action adventure title Terraria has enjoyed plenty of success throughout various platforms and the game is headed to Wii U this June.

For the Wii U version, the team is adding “intuitive touchscreen controls to allow players easy access to the world of Terraria, as well as several multiplayer options such as four-player local split-screen co-op and eight-player online multiplayer.”

Players will also get to post achievements on Miiverse leaderboards to track progress. Here are some additional notes on the Wii U version of the game:

  • 14 different environments such as eerie dungeons, slippery ice wastes, wild jungles and more;

  • Hundreds of craftable weapons, armor and items;

  • More than 150 enemies ranging from zombies to armies of goblins;

  • Epic boss battles that test players’ combat skills;

  • Vast worlds of exploration that introduce new potions, magic, gear and more.

And finally, here’s a look at Terraria’s Wii U trailer:

Last week, the action-adventure sandbox game, Terraria, made its Nintendo 3DS eShop debut.

In conjunction with its release, a FAQ was posted on the game’s official forums, and goes into detail regarding future updates, multiplayer functionality, the possibility of larger worlds in the future, and more. You can read the entire FAQ below.

What content is included?
Terraria 3DS includes all the content from 1.2 with the exception of Dyes which are excluded on technical grounds*. To make up for that, we’ve added Minecarts, Fishing and a few 1.3 UI options like the ability to quick stack to a chest. The 3DS version also features a completely overhauled interface, making full use of the two screens. You can cycle the bottom screen between an intuitive touch to build interface; a world map; or as a quick-select inventory bar. It’s the most intuitive Terraria has ever been on console, and we’ve included a few surprises for the Nintendo fanbase.

Will there be variable world sizes?
At launch, there is a single world size of 1750x900. You can save up to three Worlds and three Characters per console. This is as large as the original 3DS can handle. We are investigating the possibility of introducing larger worlds as a New 3DS-exclusive feature in future, but for launch we felt it was important to start everyone off on a level playing field.

Any other technical stuff I should be aware of?
This game plays in 2D ONLY. This is for a couple of reasons: the way the graphics layers work on 3DS was not conducive to a really exciting 3D effect; and the technical overheard required to run the game in 3D would have meant compromises in of world size and other gameplay-damaging areas. The game runs on ALL models of 3DS (original, XL and New) and also 2DS. The framerate on original 3DS is 30fps, whereas the New gets a boost to 60FPS.

Any other New 3DS benefits?
For launch, we wanted a single version that could be enjoyed by all players. There are different control possibilities for New, but nothing that will unbalance a multiplayer game with people on an Original or 2DS.

How does multiplayer work?
Multiplayer is 1-4 players via Local Play. Each player needs to have their own copy of the game.

Will there be a demo on the eShop?
There are no plans currently to offer a demo. I encourage people to seek out the opinions of their peers – there are a handful of people on the Forum playing this already.

Will the 3DS version be updated post launch?
We are planning to both Nintendo versions post-launch, as we have done with the console versions. Update 1 is already specced out and scheduled, and we’ll be listening for community from the moment the game goes live.

Will there be cross play between the Wii U and 3DS versions?
This is not possible owing to the smaller world size on 3DS.

When will the physical/retail version launch? Wii U?
Both of these are still planned for an Early 2016 launch.

How much free space do I need to install this game?
The game itself is around 80MB, which @Spectra tells me is 640 blocks. The save game and any subsequent content updates will be saved to the SD card.

I have a technical issue or – where can I provide this?
You can always leave a post on TCF, and/or we would encourage you to utilize our new Customer Service Portal: https://.505games.com//home

We will be gathering any additional bugs from our ongoing play/testing as well as your experience and rolling fixes into that first Update.

*We use pixel shaders to implement dyes on the other platforms, but 3DS does not have this capability.

Terraria is now available on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. However, the retail version on 3DS, along with the digital and retail versions for Wii U, are scheduled to arrive in early 2016.

ReLogic has released a trailer for the and huge 1.3 update to sandbox-action game Terraria. The update will be available for Windows players on June 30th while Mac and Linux players should get it sometime in July.

ReLogic also noted that this 1.3 update is the result of months of work from the entire team. The announcement also came with a teaser that read: “In an age of Darkness & a time of Evil...when the world needed a Hero...they got - you. With an array of new weapons, functionality, facelifts, and features at your disposal - will you be up to the challenges posed by the new foes in your path...as well as some old enemies that have learned some new tricks?”

More specifically, though, you can consult the trailer for further details. It tells us that the world has grown even darker and with it comes new lands to explore and new invaders to conquer (namely pirates and aliens). The update will also add an Expert Mode for those who really want to test their survival skills. Plus, there will be new boss mechanics, as well as a new boss described only as “an ancient evil” – it looks pretty nasty.

Finally, there will be a Camera Mode added, new achievements, streamlined multiplayer and cloud saving with Steam integration,  and 800 new items including a portal gun.

With an array of new weapons, functionality, facelifts, and features at your disposal - will you be up to the challenges posed by the new foes in your path...as well as some old enemies that have learned some new tricks?”   More specifically, though, you can consult the trailer for further details.

An Amazon listing popped up recently that revealed the popular 2D sandbox action-adventure Terraria would be heading to Nintendo 3DS. Usually, these types of listings are proven to be false after a while, but not this one (thanks Destructoid).

It turns out that one of the lead developers at developer Re-Logic (going by the handle “Cenx”) has previously confirmed in the official Terraria forums that the game would finally be making its way to Nintendo platforms. “Terraria is indeed coming to Wii U and 3DS,” she wrote.

So while that much is confirmed, the rest of the information in the Amazon listing is not, including whether it will cost $29.99 and that it will be out for 3DS on October 31st 2015. Hopefully we’ll find out in the future.

2D open-world sandbox crafter Terraria came out on PlayStation 4 on November 12th, and Xbox One on November 14th. According to 505 Games it’s triple the size that it was on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

The PS4 and Xbox One versions have over 1,000 new items added to them. This includes 10 new ores, four new wood types, 31 new brick types, 12 new wing types, 29 new tinker combinations, 50 new paintings, eight new friendly NPCs, 15 new pets, over 100 new enemies, four new bosses, and more.

The PS4 version also has a pinch-to-zoom function tied to the touch pad on the DualShock 4. It also comes with Cross-Play between PS4, PS3, and PS Vita so that you can transfer saves between different PlayStation platforms, and enjoy cross-platform online multiplayer.

Terraria costs $19.99 on PS4 and Xbox One. And, for a limited time, the PS Vita version of the game has been bundled with your purchase of the PS4 version so you get it for free. This doesn’t work the other way round; i.e. you cannot get the PS4 version by buying the PS Vita version.
