TCG Corporation revealed that it will release a new trading card game featuring characters from Nihon Falcom's Trails series in late November 2024. Even though the series is better known in Japan as Kiseki, the new card game's logo confirms that it will also use the English title Trails. As such, the new entry's full title will be Trails Trading Card Game.

Free promotion cards featuring Estelle and Joshua Bright from Trails in the Sky will also appear in limited numbers. These cards will have an effect that increases each character's Strength and Defense stats by one when both are present on a player's field. TCG Corporation and Nihon Falcom will distribute these cards to select card game shops, as well as the Trails Series 20th Anniversary Exhibitions held across Japan from June 21, 2024.

The company will only sell booster packs for this Trails series card game, but it assured that players can form a deck by just opening five of those packs. A single booster pack will contain eight cards and cost 500 yen before tax. TCG Corporation will also sell a box containing eight packs, an in-carton containing six boxes, and an out-carton that includes four in-cartons. The price for each set will correspond to the number of packs included inside.

Trails Trading Card Game will be available in Japan on November 29, 2024. TCG Corporation will start accepting pre-orders for the card game packs on June 21, 2024.

Aniplex revealed the card art for its NieR Automata Ver1.1a booster pack in Build Divide Bright TCG. The pack will come out on September 15, 2023. You’ll be able to get cards of 2B, 9S, Lily, and A2. The booster pack will also come with signatures of the anime cast. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]

In particular, 2B and 9S will have alternate versions of their cards. These designs will show them without their visors, allowing you to see their eyes. As for the cast signatures, you’ll be able to get the ones from:

• 2B: Yui Ishikawa
• 9S: Natsuki Hanae
• A2: Ayaka Suwa
• Devola/Popola: Ryoko Shiraishi
• Lily: Atsumi Tanezaki
• Pascal: Yuki Aoi

Each booster pack costs 330 JPY, and will contain 7 cards. In total, the NieR Automata Ver1.1 booster pack series has 88 cards. Aniplex will likely release more information on what cards you’ll be able to get closer to the launch date.

Aniplex first announced Build Divide in 2021 as a multimedia project. Aside from a TCG, it will also be an original anime. Build Divide Bright is an alternate format of Build Divide that focuses on booster packs from various anime series. Other intellectual properties that Build Divide released collaboration booster packs for in the past include Lycoris Recoil, Bocchi the Rock, and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

The NieR Automata Ver1.1a booster packs for Build Divide will start appearing in Japan from September 15, 2023.

of Nijisanji will appear as cards in the Wixoss TCG as part of the Nijisanji Diva pack. There is enough variety in the pack that you will be able to make a deck with solely Nijisanji cards. Wixoss has collaborated with Nijisanji in the past, adding livers such as Tsukino Mito to the roster. However, Nijisanji Diva will be the first time that from Nijisanji EN make an appearance.

The of Lazulight and Obsydia from Nijisanji EN will debut in Wixoss with the Nijisanji Diva pack. These are Pomu, Elira, Finana, Petra, Selen, and Rosemi. Hyakumantenbara Salome, who has been making waves and breaking records for VTubers since her debut, will also appear as a bonus when you purchase the box. Some of the boxes contain a rarer version that has Salome’s autograph on it.

There is also the chance to obtain cards of Sasaki Saku and Shiina Yuika with their signatures on them. The final bonus is a card of Lize Helesta with a serial number on it. Takara Tomy will only release seven cards with serial numbers, and they are exclusive to the first production batch.

Wixoss is a multimedia franchise focusing on the Wixoss TCG. Aside from the real-life game, there are also multiple anime series and manga adaptations. The TCG is similar to other card games such as Yu-Gi-Oh or Magic the Gathering in which you use your cards to wipe out your opponent’s points.

The Nijisanji Diva pack, including cards of the Nijisanji EN , for Wixoss will be available from December 24, 2022.

In Japan, there’s a card game which features the bouncy Senran Kagura, called Unlimited. The latest expansion to this game will Arc System Works’ Blazblue to the mix, but hold your horses—this isn’t like other card games, where everything just kind of melds together in some unholy combination in a single deck.

You won’t see Ragna fighting alongside Asuka, for instance, 4Gamer reports. Nope. In fact, the card backs for both will be completely different. That’s right, same game, different card backs. How’s that going to work out?

Well, while both will have their own additions to Unlimited’s card system, disallowing players from mixing decks, they will allow players to fight head-to-head against each other. Each character in the Blazblue sets will have their own special abilities. Ragna, for instance, will have his life-stealing abilities reflected in his card abilities. Noel, on the other hand, relies on her gun mastery and racks up combo chains the more gunshots she fires off.

The Blazblue cards will even have special little indicators on the top to tell whether you’re in Overdrive mode and such. While this will lead to some highly complex decks – each, obviously with their own strategic twist—it should add a completely new wrinkle to the way card games have been played before.

To counter the swing in how the entire game is about to get played, the next booster pack set for Unlimited’s Senran Kagura set-volume 4-will get a power boost to help players settle into the new metagame.
