Tanita has been working on the production of a measuring device modeled after SNK's Neo Geo cabinets. The company has newly announced that the Neo Geo-like device, which will consist of a clock, thermometer, and hygrometer, will also contain BGMs from SNK's games like The King of Fighters '95.

In the Japanese announcement tweet, the company noted that it chose KOF '95 because its staff considered the game to be a hallmark in the series for introducing the Team Edit System. The same staff are also choosing specific tunes that would symbolize the entry.

The King of Fighters '95 will not be the only game to have its soundtrack featured on this device. Tanita has also shared teaser images for three more titles in the same announcement. As an example, the lower left image is based on the Japanese logo for Garou Densetsu Special, which is better known in the West as Fatal Fury Special.

Tanita has also been working on more game-themed measuring devices with SNK. Previously in late 2024, it revealed a body composition monitor with a playable copy of The King of Fighters '98 that cost 2.2 million yen or around $14,340.

The Neo Geo-shaped measuring device that can act as a clock, thermometer, and hygrometer is still undergoing production. SNK has given its approval to mass-produce the device on January 21, 2025. However, it will still take more time until Tanita is ready to put the product up for pre-orders.

Tanita revealed a new collection of pedometers decorated with all idols from The Idolmaster: Cinderella Girls appearing to date. With a total of 190 different models, each pedometer will be available at 3,300 yen (~$30).

Cinderella Girls has been known for its massive size of idol roster. As of this writing, Bandai Namco boasts a whopping 190 idols from the title alone. Each idol will have a pedometer embellished with their respective artwork.

Pre-orders for The Idolmaster: Cinderella Girls pedometers are open in Japan until October 11, 2021. All items will be built to order. Tanita will ship the finished products starting from mid-December 2021.

Tanita has been releasing merchandise related to the game to celebrate the title's tenth anniversary. Previously in August 2021, it launched pre-orders for a digital cooking scale decorated with Kyoko Igarashi, the idol known for her ion for housework.

Tanita's webpage for the Cinderella Girls merchandise still has a "Coming Soon" banner. The company plans to release more merchandise related to the long-running title.

The Idolmaster: Cinderella Girls originally appeared as a social mobile game in November 2011. Bandai Namco later launched The Idolmaster: Cinderella Girls - Starlight Stage, an Android and iOS mobile rhythm game with 3D musical performances, in September 2015. It will release a PC version of Starlight Stage on DMM Games in Fall 2021.

Good news for Virtual-On fans! Japanese healthcare manufacturer Tanita announced that the crowdfunded twin sticks controller meant to work with the series will be sold to the public, after the first batch was made for backers of their campaign.

Tanita's campaign began in 2018, where it deemed video gaming as a type of lifestyle healthcare and began a crowdfunding procedure for its first video game-related product—-the twin sticks controller. However, the first campaign failed, and the company relaunched the campaign in late 2018 with a smaller scope and finally succeeded. The controllers were released late in 2019 and are compatible with PS4 spinoff A Certain Magical Virtual-On, as well as the ports of the first three games that released on PS4 last year.

According to Tanita, the twin sticks controller will be sold at 55,000 yen, tax excluded (around $510 USD). The controller will be available for preorder beginning on April 24, 2020, until May 31, 2020 on Sanwa Electronics official online store here. As this time, the company is making the controllers to order and doesn’t need to reach a certain amount of orders to greenlight production. However, Tanita also warns that this will be the last chance to acquire the controllers, if you are interested.

The Tanita twin sticks controller will be available for preorder from April 24 to May 31, 2020.
