When Bleach Rebirth of Souls launched, it featured a number of issues like PC crashes, and the latest patch fixes an infinite extended combos issue that can arise. 1.04 keeps those from kicking in and happening due to a bug. There are also fixes for 19 character issues and the Battle and Free Match modes.

The Bleach Rebirth of Souls infinite extended combos issue ended up being the biggest problem. This is because it wasn’t just some offline issue that could help people beat friends or get through the story a little easier. This problem specifically came up during online fights. How it worked is during wake-up, there would be unblockable frames. So the person who started a combo would get to keep up an onslaught and there’d be no way to halt it. That’s gone now.

Some of the other additions involve the general fights. If you’re in a Battle, you can tweak how the fights look. If you’re not in a story mode fight, you can change it so Spiritual Pressure names won’t show up. You can also make the Reverse Action animations not take away from a match time limit. In Free Match, a fight now lasts 300 seconds (five minutes). There are also new defaults. The region and connection speed options are unlimited when you first get in. You also won’t get Soul Crystals and Spirit Talismans unless you enable them.

Here are the full 1.04 Bleach Rebirth of Souls patch notes that end the infinite extended combos, adjust Free Match and Battle, and change or fix issues with 19 characters.

General Battle Adjustment/Changes:

Bandai Namco Aware of Bleach Rebirth of Souls PC Crash Reports Steam

Bleach Rebirth of Souls launched for consoles and the PC via Steam, and Bandai Namco confirmed it is aware of many PC crash reports. It announced Tamsoft is working on a patch and also shared a few possible solutions that might help in the meantime. The console versions don't seem to be affected.

There are two times when people tend to be experiencing a crash or other problem impeding play in the PC version of Bleach Rebirth of Souls bought via Steam. One involves it crashing immediately after the introduction and seeing the Bandai Namco and Tamsoft logos. This might be tied to using multiple monitors. If you do, Bandai Namco says not to switch between them. The other option might involve only seeing a red screen or the game crashing. The solution there is to change the Graphic Quality setting.

Here are the exact instructions Bandai Namco shared for the graphic adjustment that might fix one problem:

If you are encountering a red screen, please try the following solution.

Please change the display quality from [Automatically select on Windows] to [High performance] in the Application options (graphics basic settings)

Bandai Namco also requested anyone filing crash reports provide two pieces of information. One is to share the Windows system software version by sharing the edition of windows, the version, and the OS build. It also asked if you are using the Quality, Balanced, or Performance Graphic Quality option.

As of 12:30pm ET on March 21, 2025, over 1,100 comments appeared in a Steam discussion thread about the Bleach Rebirth of Souls PC crash reports. People also reported issues with shaders, audio not playing properly, and frame rate issues.

Bleach Rebirth of Souls will come to the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on March 21, 2025. The Bleach anime, including Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, are streaming on on Disney+ and HuluViz Media handles the manga series outside of Japan.

Takeharu Ishimoto Hear a Song From the Bleach: Rebirth of Souls Soundtrack

At Anime Expo 2024, Bandai Namco and Tamsoft announced the new Bleach: Rebirth of Souls game, and now there’s a chance to hear two songs from its soundtrack. The companies shared the songs “Rebirth” and "Absolution" by The BONEZ and Sound Composer Takeharu Ishimoto on social media.

First, here’s the full one minute and twenty-four second clip of “Rebirth.” The Bleach: Rebirth of Souls song features some lyrics to it, and it sounds like it could be the sort of track off a soundtrack used for a something like a menu. There’s no gameplay footage shown during it. Only the key art of Ichigo in his Soul Reaper attire appears alongside the game logo.

Neptunia x Senran Kagura Interview Discusses the Game & Its Characters

There’s a new interview video discussing the Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars crossover, its characters, and other elements of the game. It featured Neptunia series Producer Naoko Mizuno and Neptunia x Senran Kagura Co-Producer Makoto Kitano discussing the game. Things began with how the crossover itself happened, before getting into finer details about its development.

First, Mizuno and Kitano explained that the team wanted to make the next entry in the Neptunia series “Neptune with a ninja theme.” Mizuno also mentioned how Neptune appeared in the Senran Kagura series before. She showed up as DLC in Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash. When the team approached Marvelous, owners of the Senran Kagura IP, it ended up turning into something more. Mizuno also mentioned being briefly concerned that the characters from the two series wouldn’t look well alongside each other in Neptunia x Senran Kagura, but was reassured after seeing them together. Kitano also noted how typically “the guest character is influenced by the game they’re visiting,” but that didn’t happen here.

Here’s the full Neptunia x Senran Kagura interview, which also featured them talking about merging characters and series together and briefly discussed the bath scenes in-game.

Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars will show up on the Nintendo Switch on April 19, 2022 in North America and April 22, 2022 in Europe. It will appear on PCs on May 11, 2022. The game is immediately available on the PS4 worldwide and Switch in Japan.

Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars Switch Port Works

Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars has a new home on the Switch. Which might get people wondering. This is a game that was made for the PS4. Can the Switch handle it? Will it feel the same? Given that Tamsoft’s Neptunia beat’em ups showed up on handhelds before, it seemed like a safe bet. In practice, it does work. Not only that, but I felt like some issues with the PS4 release were a little easier to bear on the new platform.

Part of the reason Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars out well is because it is easier to be more forgiving when it comes to its inconsistencies. The PS4 version of the game is fine for what it is. However, it looks like a budget game. There are a limited number of enemies. This applies both to how many appear in the bestiary and on the field at once. (Palette swaps show up to increase its size.) The environments get repetitive and don’t look great. But on the Switch, it somehow doesn’t seem so bad. Especially if you are playing in Handheld mode. The smaller screen, with its reduced resolution, makes boring environments easier to bear. I would almost say the fact that the character models might not look as sharp as they do on the PS4 means it isn’t such a major disparity between them and the world they inhabit.

Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars Switch Port Works

In of the tech, the Switch also handles Neptunia x Senran: Ninja Wars rather well. There’s no slowdown or lag, even if quite a few enemies are onscreen at once. The loading ahead of levels isn’t too egregious. It’s typically under 30 seconds. Inputs are responsive. So even though this isn’t the most elaborate beat’em up with the most intricate combos, I never felt like I was faltering due to a delay in it recognizing my actions.

The nature of Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars lends itself well to a handheld as well. When I played it on the PS4, I had an okay time. It was fine. But I was also experiencing it under less than ideal conditions. I would have to play in sessions that lasted hours. Given the repetitive nature of its missions and reused enemies and environments, that isn’t ideal! This is more of a game in which a person plays for 30 minutes, maybe 60 minutes at most. Complete one mission or two. Go do something else. Come back when you want to revisit it because you like the characters. It works better that way.

Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars Switch Port Works

I also found it easier to accept Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars as a solo experience on the Switch. I’d attribute this to it being a sort of console someone might be more likely to play on their own. If you’re on a Switch Lite or playing undocked, there’s not this constant reminder someone else could be going through a beat’em up with you.

Is Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars the best Neptunia or Senran Kagura beat’em up? No. Is it entertaining for what it is? I’d say so. I would even say it fares a bit better on the Switch than on the PS4. I know sometimes I go into a Switch version of this sort of game with tempered expectations. That makes it easier to accept certain things about it.

Neptunia x Senran Kagura PC Version Will Release on Steam in May

We now know when the heroines from the Neptunia and Senran Kagura series will meet on a new platform. Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars will come to the PC via Steam on May 11, 2022. The product page is already live. This announcement follows a January and February 2022 closed beta test.

As a reminder, Neptunia x Senran Kagura is set in an entirely alternate reality. The console goddesses like Neptune, Noir, Blanc, and Vert are now Compa ninjas in Heartland. When the game begins, they are feuding with the Honeypa shinobi from Marveland. (That is where the Senran Kagura characters Asuka, Homura, Yumi, and Miyabi are from.) However, when the Steeme Legion invades, they come together to defeat them.

This wasn't the only Neptunia x Senran Kagura news to come up. There's also a new trailer out. It shows how the game runs on the Nintendo Switch. That version of the game will appear a month before the PC debut.

As December 2021 came to a close, Idea Factory International announced Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars would appear on the Nintendo Switch. It will show up first in North America on April 19, 2022. Then, it will come to Europe on April 22, 2022. People will be able to get a digital or physical copy.

As a reminder, the Switch version of the game will be a bit different. There will be two extra difficulty levels. People can head to the Options to choose Easy or Hard. Neptunia x Senran Kagura Makes Sense

At a glance, Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars might not make sense. One series is about console goddesses. The other’s about ninjas. Two different companies own the IPs. The only commonality might be a superficial one. That perhaps there could be a shared audience among people who enjoy Japanese games. But the thing about the game is that it works. It might not be as well done as something like Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson. Its story might not be as great as the early Neptunia games. But for many reasons, it works.

Part of that comes from its foundation. Before we even get into how character interactions and story decisions might help, the developer factors in. While Neptunia as a series is tied to Idea Factory and Marvelous has Senran Kagura, Tamsoft is tied to both series. Senran Kagura Burst, Estival Versus, Deep Crimson… it is behind them all. (It even handled spin-offs like Bon Appetit and Peach Beach Splash, so the developer knows what its doing.) While Compile Heart tends to be in charge for Neptunia, the action-RPGs are Tamsoft’s domain as well.

Neptunia x Senran Kagura Makes Sense Asuka

This means that Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars has the right kind of feel. Some characters are speedier than others and feel great for combos. For example, both Purple Heart and Asuka fall into that category. Others pack heavier hits, like White Heart and Homura. (Not that they don’t have as satisfying combos, but when the final blow lands it really hits harder and has sufficient knockback.) Also Asuka, Homura, Miyabi, and Yumi feel the way they do in Senran Kagura games. While the inputs for certain special attacks look different, they’ll pack the same sort of punch. And, since it follows the Tamsoft tradition of taking two warriors into beat’em up battles at once, it feels even more familiar.

But what also works are the character relationships. Both the Neptunia and Senran Kagura series feature strong bonds between characters. They care about each other. They’re affectionate. They might tease, but the emotional connections come through. Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars’s got that. Even very briefly in the introduction, when the Compa and Honeypa ninjas are foes, it doesn’t feel like there’s any real animosity between them. (Especially between Asuka and Neptune.) Once Neptune, Blanc, Noire, and Vert head to Marveland (yes, after Marvelous) from Heartland (Compile Heart), Asuka even receives them. When the 4 Ninja Goddesses aid the Marveland Daimyo, the other ninjas welcome them too. It isn’t long before you’ve got two Senran Kagura ninjas in your ranks, and they fit.

Neptunia x Senran Kagura Makes Sense Asuka Purple Heart

It also helps that the story tends to lean more toward the Neptunia approach, rather than take things too seriously. Not that the Senran Kagura series doesn’t get silly sometimes. It absolutely can even in mainline entries. But we’ve got ninjas in Gamninjustri. When you go through the typical “chat with chibi characters” area, you’ll see ones representing Tamsoft and other companies. Immediately after Asuka and Homura the 4 Ninja Goddesses in Heartland, one of the first things they do is… all take a bath together. Which leads to the fourth wall breaking as Neptune explains that this is “service,” as in fanservice, especially due to the voice acting. Neptune also has a great line about how these two universes colliding led to troubles. There’s that goofiness that makes it okay to have a game about two groups that normally wouldn’t be together getting together.

What this all means is that people who enjoyed the Senran Kagura series and Neptunia beat’em ups will probably enjoy Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars. It is a combination that works. Gameplay mechanics from other games remain. The Neptunia and Senran Kagura characters do feel different from each others. The story, while short and silly, can be fun and uses the characters rather well. Especially since the cast from the two games get along well. It’s a pairing that makes sense.

Neptunia x Senran Kagura Makes Sense Asuka This means that Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars has the right kind of feel. Neptunia x Senran Kagura Makes Sense Asuka Purple Heart It also helps that the story tends to lean more toward the Neptunia approach, rather than take things too seriously. Idea Factory International confirmed that Senran NinNinNinja Taisen Neptune: Shojo-Tachi no Kyouen will appear worldwide. Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars will be its English name when it heads to the PS4 in 2021. Both digital and physical copies will be available.

Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars is set in Gamninjustri, rather than Gamindustri like the normal Neptunia games. There are two factions of ninja with their own ninja arts. Now all ninjas are being attacked by Yoh Gamer and the Steeme Legion army of mechanical ninjas.

Here’s the first official English trailer.

Details about the physical editions are slim at the moment. The standard PS4 copy will be $49.99. A special edition is also on the way, but Idea Factory International didn’t say how much it will be or what it will include.
