Taito and Banpresto released a new One Piece plush, which recreates the Monkey D Luffy straw hat as a soft cushion. It will be over 16 inches long (42cm). It is currently appearing in actual arcades in Japan, as well as online crane games. It isn’t showing up in any

As you’d expect, the One Piece plush of Luffy’s straw hat is yellow, with a red band around it. As this is designed to be used as a decorative piece and cushion, the brim is incredibly thing and small, and the crown is much larger than usual.

The official Japanese Banpresto Crane Game image highlighting the plush also teased a second one. An Imu toy is in development. This character only appears toward the end of series.

Here are the two official pictures of the new One Piece plush:

This is one of multiple One Piece pieces of merchandise and collaborations that launched in Japan recently. Another memorable one involved Baskin Robbins selling different kinds of ice cream based on the series’ Devil Fruit

The One Piece Luffy straw hat plush is in Japanese arcades now. The manga is handled by Viz Media outside Japan, and the anime is streaming on services like Crunchyroll and Netflix. Netflix is also the home of the live-action adaptation, and a second season of that will appear.

FFXIV Outrunner Plush Keychains Head to Japanese Arcades

Taito announced another new type of Final Fantasy XIV merchandise, this time being a collection of four Outrunner plush keychains based on the FFXIV Dawntrail enemy and mount. These will debut around the second half of May 2025. The only store that ships worldwide and offers a listing for them so far is Aitai Kuji, which is selling them for ¥2,500 (~$17) each.

By default, an Outrunner in FFXIV Dawntrail is a machine with a purple face that has two white eyes in it. However, that expression can change during fights or play, as seen during the applicable Hunt or mount. The three other options act as a nod to those different looks, with one being angry, another confused, and one knocked out. Each one is just under three inches tall (7cm) and has a ball-chain keychain cord attached.

Here’s the official photo showing how they will look:

This is the second recent piece of Final Fantasy XIV merchandise Taito announced, with the last one being a FFXIV world map rug. That showed up in Japan in April 2025

The Final Fantasy XIV Outrunner plush from Taito will appear in Japanese arcades at the end of May 2025, and FFXIV and its Dawntrail expansion are available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices.

hatsune miku rody fairy tale figure

A second Amp+ collaboration figure between Hatsune Miku and Rody will appear in the Taito crane game machines as a prize. This Miku’s theme is “fairy tale” and so she’s wearing a dress that’s reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland.

https://twitter.com/Taito_Toys/status/1908077186273411299

The announcement Tweet from Taito did not mention how large the figure is. It shows Miku wearing a frilly blue dress, blue high heels, and a maid-like headdress with pink ears protruding from it. A pink donkey-like creature is next to her. Miku is smiling while holding up a hand, and the stand she’s on resembles a heart-shaped bubble or cushion. This figure is based on artwork from illustrator 4, and it’s the second collaboration figure between Hatsune Miku and Rody.

The first collaboration between Hatsune Miku and Rody came out in February 2024 as a crane game prize. This figure stood at around 7.8 inches tall, and so the fairy tale Miku figure will likely stand at that height as well. More information on that should come out in the future.

Other Hatsune Miku figures that have been announced or will come out in 2025 include a commemorative Nendoroid from Good Smile Company to celebrate the 100th Miku Nendoroid. Again from Good Smile Company, you can also purchase a plamo model kit that lets you build your own Nendoroid of Miku. Megahouse also teased two new Miku and Gundam Lucrea figures.

The Hatsune Miku and Rody fairy tale figure will appear as a prize in Taito crane games in mid-April 2025.

dark magician figure yu-gi-oh

A new figure of the Dark Magician from Yu-Gi-Oh has appeared in Taito online crane game machines. This is the newest work from the Yu-Gi-Oh Card Game Equal Arts series of figures. [Thanks, Dengeki Online!]

The Dark Magician figure stands at around 200 mm tall. It’s also striking the same pose as it was in the OCG (2nd in the TCG), in which he’s holding out his staff while placing his other hand against his hat-like helmet. While the card art depicts him standing in front of a magic circle, the prize figure does not offer a background of said circle. Since this is a prize figure, you have to obtain it through the Taito online crane game, or via a proxy service.

Dark Magician (or Black Magician) is one of the more iconic monsters from the Yu-Gi-Oh series. It was Yugi’s ace monster for most of the anime, as well as a key character in the final arc of Duel Monsters. It also spawned an entire archetype, which includes the equally popular monster, Dark Magician Girl. As such, both Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl often appear as figures or in crossover goods with other properties.

You can obtain the Dark Magician figure from Yu-Gi-Oh from Taito online crane games.

Mai Shiranui vs Chun-Li in Street Fighter 6 Type Arcade

Capcom and Taito announced that they will add Mai Shiranui to Street Fighter 6: Type Arcade on March 13, 2025. Players of the game's arcade version will soon be able to use the SNK guest character on their preferred platform. As that will be in a cabinet, there will be no additional fee or need to buy DLC to use the crossover character.

The arcade version, which is separately handled by Taito, usually has a staggered update pace from the original fighting game releases that Capcom is managing on consoles and PC. As an example, the other SNK guest character Terry Bogard appeared in Street Fighter 6: Type Arcade on October 24, 2024, which is exactly a month after he debuted on the console and PC releases on September 24, 2024. Mai will be a similar case, as she has been available on the original Street Fighter 6 releases since February 5, 2025.

The difference will lie in the availabilities in the character selection menu. In the console and PC releases, players have to purchase DLC to unlock the post-launch characters. In this arcade port, Capcom and Taito are making all extra characters available to choose without any additional charges besides the credits required for a gameplay session.

The addition of Mai Shiranui will not be the only new thing in this arcade update. Capcom and Taito will also add High Master, Grand Master, and Ultimate Master as new achievable ranks in the Master League.

In addition, people who play the game on both arcades and consoles (or PC) can link both of their s. If they have acquired Master League titles and DX character colors in the console/PC version of Street Fighter 6, they can also use those in their linked for Type Arcade.

Mai Shiranui will appear in Street Fighter 6: Type Arcade on March 13, 2025. The character is readily available via DLC in the PC and console releases of Street Fighter 6, the latter of which appear on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X.

Dragon Quest Liquid Metal Slime Sensor Figure Ready to Run Again

Taito announced it is bringing back its Dragon Quest Liquid Metal Slime Sensor Figure. This is a toy that can be found as a prize in Japanese arcades. It will show up again on March 7, 2025, following it previously having a March 2025 rerelease window. If you happen to visit an arcade in the region, you could get a chance to win one again.

Previously, we saw this particular Slime toy show up in November 2022. It features a motion sensor in one of its front “bubbles” that alerts it to nearby movement. If you have batteries in it and turn the switch on, it will then “run away,” in a nod to that type of enemy’s behavior in the games.

We actually have an idea of how this Dragon Quest Liquid Metal Slime Sensor Figure will work, due to it being a rerelease of a past item. PA Channel shared footage of the toy reacting to movement. While at the beginning of the video we see it responding to someone walking, at the two minute mark we it responding to movement from an Erdrick’s Sword replica and zipping around a tabletop as a result.

The Liquid Metal Slime is a popular figure, and it often ends up being used for more unusual pieces of Dragon Quest merchandise. In 2024, this happened twice. In one case, it showed up as a floor cleaner that would zip around and help tidy up a house. Taito also revealed a PC mouse based on it. It also ed the Square Enix Metallic Monsters Gallery of figures, and you can get it alone or in a bundle with a Metal Slime and Metal King Slime.

The Dragon Quest Liquid Metal Slime Sensor Figure will appear in Japanese arcades starting on March 7, 2025.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKpvxpgtU5I

New Bridget Figure Based on Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R

Taito featured multiple Spiritale figure reveals at WonFes 2025 Winter, and one of them ended up being a first look at the cute Bridget figure based on her Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R appearance. This is the first time an actual physical version of this product appeared, as the company only previously shared concept and announcement art.

This figure will be a 1/7 scale model. That means it will probably be between eight and ten inches tall when it is finished. She has her nun’s coif and veil on her head and is wearing her blue and white dress. Her yo-yo is in her left hand. Roger the teddy bear is behind her. Her handcuff is also around her waist, as usual. The design is intended to replicate official art of the character from Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R.

Here’s how the Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R figure of the character is looking so far:

Spiritale released another Guilty Gear Bridget figure not too long ago. However, that one was based on her Guilty Gear Strive look. It debuted in March 2024 worldwide. That was also a 1/7 scale figure, and it stood at over 10 inches tall.

There’s no release window for this Spiritale Bridget figure yet, and Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R is available on the Switch, PS3, Vita, Xbox 360, and PC.

Luigi Mansion Poltergust 5000 vacuum light appearing as crane game prize

Taito has revealed that it will release the Poltergust 5000 from the Luigi's Mansion series as a crane game prize toy in Japan. The item will start appearing in Japanese amusement centers on December 21, 2024.

The toy will be known in Japan as "Obaccum Sound Light." However, it is very clearly modeled after the Poltergust 5000 from Luigi's Mansion 2. The 2013 3DS game was alternatively known in North America as Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, but Nintendo uniformized the title when it released a remaster of the game for Nintendo Switch in June 2024 worldwide as Luigi's Mansion 2 HD.

While the original gadget had swappable heads to switch between vacuum and light modes, this toy will simply have a light placed on the vacuum head. The toy can also play a random sound while the light is turned on. It will have five kinds of audio, which range from the gadget's machine noise to Luigi's voice.

The toy vacuum light modeled after Poltergust 5000 from the Luigi's Mansion series will be available as crane game prizes in amusement centers across Japan starting from Saturday, December 21, 2024. People can also immediately play Luigi's Mansion 2 HD on Nintendo Switch to see the actual item.

However, you won't be defeating any challengers or sending your enemies to the Shadow Realm once you obtain all five blankets.

The blankets also have some fun details, such as the card description along with the Attack and Defense of the individual cards on the front. Unfortunately, the collection of blankets are only available in Japan, and through participating Taito locations.

For consumers looking for more Yu-Gi-Oh merchandise, Bandai Namco is set to release a series of desktop figures. Characters such as Yugi, Seto Kaiba, Joey Wheeler, and the iconic Blue Eyes White Dragon will appear as part of this collection. It's set to release in November 2024.
