Last week in Japan there was a number of new releases including Disaster Report 4 Plus, Battlefield V, Shenmue I & II, Neko Tomo, and Nari Kids Park HUGtto! PreCure to hit the top-20 in weekly sales.
Japan had a quiet week in of new releases with the only one being Neko Tomo for the Nintendo Switch. Otherwise, we it mostly saw Call of Duty: Black Ops IV and Red Dead Redemption 2 compete for top.
Last week, Japan along with the rest of the world got Red Dead Redemption 2. In Japan they also finally got Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, new Beyblade game, and a 2-in-1 Yomawari bundle for Switch.
In Nintendo’s latest financial results briefing, president Shuntaro Furukawa discussed the Nintendo Switch console and evergreen titles sell-through trends in Japan, US, and Europe the past few months.
Nintendo released a short video on Twitter today in celebration of Super Mario Odyssey’s first anniversary, featuring the main cast dancing along with Mario.
Last week, Japan had some notable releases with SoulCalibur VI, Dark Souls Remastered for Switch, FuRyu’s crying RPG Crystar, and a Switch edition for Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy.
