Video games can be about escapism, and for many people that means a love story. Gaming has some of the most beautiful romances of all media, but sometimes you want a little more gameplay than a visual novel offers. That’s where these games come in. Blending romantic stories with other gaming genres, they will warm your heart and your hands. Here are ten of our favorite dating sims on Switch that aren’t visual novels.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses zm5h

Screenshot from Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is a strategy RPG at its core, but the biggest decision you make is whether to the Black Eagles, Blue Lions, or Golden Deer. In fact, it's one of the most iconic Switch dating sims. There are different characters you can romance, date, and eventually marry. Not only does this make you feel warm inside, but gives certain bonuses to those units.

This idea isn’t unique to Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and the system is a key part of the Fire Emblem series. However, we’ve chosen Three Houses as our representative here, specifically because of the Three Houses system. Picking your houses locks you out of certain romance options, and gives you even more reason to start another playthrough.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 632g4o

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Key Art

This is a cheeky entry as there aren’t dating options in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, but there are a few games on this list that just have a romantic story at their core. The Xenoblade series is known for two things: beautifully synergistic action RPG gameplay, and a heartbreaking story. In the series the third entry has a special place in our hearts.

The touching relationship between Noah and Mio aside – which we won’t be spoiling – those who are desperate for stats to go up can get that too. The affinity system allows characters to unlock new classes, and there are almost 20 characters you can recruit, giving players the best of both worlds.

Stardew Valley 6810v

If you don’t know what Stardew Valley is by now you have probably been living under a rock. The smash hit farming sim in the vein of Harvest Moon has taken over the life of many gamers. After your grandpa es on, he offers you his old plot of farmland in the village of Stardew Valley. You start out by clearing out the farm so you can plant crops, and then you get invested in helping spirits rebuild the community center.

There is a surprising amount going on in Stardew Valley. Aside from farming you will go mining, fishing, attend festivals, and of course date the people of the town. There are a dozen villagers that are single and ready to mingle. Getting married offers benefits, including the addition of children in your hand-built home. Just be prepared that if you decide to play Stardew Valley that you might lose hundreds of hours of your life to it.

Undertale 5u5g1v

Key Art from Undertale

You only get into the dating sim elements of Undertale after you have finished the main game, so if you’re looking explicitly for games with plenty of dates then you should probably on this one. However, it is one of the best games of all time, known for its excellent character development, unexpected writing and dialogue, and the way it twists players' expectations.

Most people probably know the twist of Undertale at this point, but we won’t spoil it here just in case. It tells the story of a child who falls into a mysterious underworld filled with strange creatures who confront them at every turn. However, alongside those who attack them on sight, they find those who want to help. It’s about the relationships we have with others, and most of all forgiveness.

Unpacking 335z2g

Image via Witch Beam

You don’t choose who you date in Unpacking, but you do experience the main character's romantic history, including the highs and lows through the gameplay. It’s the epitome of show don’t tell, where the entire story is told via the things that are taken with them when they move house. The house itself tells a story, as our protagonist moves from her parents house, to a shared house, to a partner’s house, and back to their parents’ house again, and beyond.

It’s amazing just how much can be conveyed without a single word. Instead, you can see not just how their relationships blossom or wilt, but their career path, their religion, and their hobbies. Above all decorating and organizing the different places they live is incredibly satisfying even if you don’t care for the wordless story of love and loss.

Catherine: Full Body 2g3u4f

Catherine Full Body Key Art
Image via Atlus

Created by many of the people who also worked on the modern Persona series, Catherine: Full Body shows more than a few of those games’ signature hallmarks. The story starts with our main character Vincent, who has been with his girlfriend Katherine for a long time. She is beginning to grow impatient waiting for marriage, and give him an ultimatum. Following this very serious conversation he finds himself waking up every morning to the young, seductive Catherine.

By day Vincent talks about his dilemma with his friends at his favorite bar The Stray Sheep, which is where he also meets his third potential love interest, the kind-hearted Rin. He also tries to guide the other customers of the bar through the struggles of their lives. At night, he is stuck climbing a nightmarish tower of block puzzles, alongside the other customers, who are also working through their issues as well. A trippy and heart-warming adventure.

Cassette Beasts 5c4h4p

Image via Raw Fury

Cassette Beasts is a creature collector like Pokémon, but it bears only a ing resemblance to Game Freak’s monster franchise. Instead of catching beasts you will record them on ‘90s style cassette tapes, and though you use them in battle, the one that’s truly in the firing line is you. Unlike the Pokémon games you will never be fighting alone; the power of friendship is always on your side.

As you continue through the story you will find more characters to you on your journey. They each have their own missions they are trying to accomplish. If you help them out, then you will grow closer to them either as friends or, if you like, lovers in this Switch dating sim. Except the dog. You aren’t allowed to date the dog.

Eternights 414a6m

Key Art from Eternights
Image via Studio Sai

Many Switch dating sims add romantic elements as just another feature that you can choose to interact with or not. Eternights puts the dating part of the action RPG at the forefront, and the ending that you receive completely changes based on who you choose. It’s one of the most impactful dating choices in gaming, outside of a visual novel.

The apocalypse is here, and after a long stint in an underground dungeon you emerge to find that those who remained on the surface have turned into monsters. After a supernatural encounter where your arm is ripped off and replaced with a weapon, you decide to get to the heart of the issue alongside any survivors you find along the way. Luckily, most of those survivors happen to be cute girls.

Boyfriend Dungeon a222m

Boyfriend Dungeon does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s a dungeon crawler that is full of boyfriends, girlfriends, non-binary friends, and a cat. Set in a world of wielders and weapons, you create a bond with your armory who also happen to be handsome suitors. The stronger your bond when your weapons are in human/feline form, the better they perform in the dungeons.

What makes Boyfriend Dungeon unique is how it handles your relationships. Some partners will be happy with you dating around, others will want you to be monogamous. Some are just a fling, and others want to be your life-long love. There are many flavors of relationship, and even some hidden suitors to find.

A Space for the Unbound 2o716u

Screenshot from A Space for the Unbound
Image via Mojiken

This is one of the few games that has made me cry ugly tears, and that is a testament to how touching the story is. A Space for the Unbound isn't really a Switch dating sim with stats that go up and down, but it does tell the touching romance between Atma and Raya. When Raya is having a hard time Atma is always there to cheer her up, but he’s left unsure if that’s the right thing to do.

Raya discovers that she has developed psychic abilities that allow her to warp the world around her to her whims. Atma explores the Indonesian village in which they both live, and has to decide what the best course of action is to help her. As he is dragged through many of her painful memories, he has to decide whether placating her, or tough love is the best way to help Raya heal in this heartwarming story.

Steam isn’t known for its excellent selection of otome games, but if you dig deep enough you will find a number of gems. The Steam Spring Sale is the perfect time to dive into the romance genre, as many of the best games are available at a deep discount. If you’re looking for some great otome games to expand your Steam collection then we’ve got ten that are worth picking up.

Here are the ten best otome games available during the Steam Spring Sale.

7’scarlet b1g56

Screenshot from 7'scarlet. Our heroine is talking to a man in a forest clearing.

7’scarlet is a supernatural mystery novel first and a romance adventure second but that doesn’t mean it’s lacking handsome husbandos to smooch. Our protagonist travels to the rural Japanese village where her brother was last seen, with the idea of staying at the local ryokan until she finds him. With the help of the people of the village she realizes that everything in this quiet town isn’t quite what it seems.

7’scarlet costs $7.49 during the Steam Spring Sale.

Psychedelia of the Ashen Hawk 42h1b

Screenshot from Psychedelia of the Ashen Hawk. A man leans over a boy lying in bed.

Another supernatural mystery, Psychedelia of the Ashen Hawk doesn’t follow the standard otome formula. Rather than choosing a route, there is one common route and your decisions dictate what ending you get. There is no bad or good ending for each sweetheart, or even a true ending at the end of your journey. Psychedelia of the Ashen Hawk tells the story of a woman living life as a man, lest she be outed as a witch, in a town no one can leave that is set in perpetual winter. Another standalone game in the series Psychedelia of the Black Butterfly is also on sale.

Psychedelia of the Ashen Hawk is reduced to $7.49 during the Steam Spring Sale.

Stardew Valley 6810v

Screenshot of Stardew Valley. A farmer walks around their well made farm.
Image via Concerned Ape

Stardew Valley isn’t technically an otome, but it has romance options and is an amazing deal during the Steam Spring Sale. After inheriting a farm in Stardew Valley from your grandfather, you move to the village to start your new life. Alongside romancing the various residents of the town, you build and manage your farm, go mining, fishing, attend festivals, and everything else cute and cozy. A beautiful adventure that will make you dream of rural life.

Stardew Valley is available for $8.99 until the end of the Steam Spring Sale.

Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds 5r4k5a

Screenshot from Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds. A man holds a katana to a woman's throat.

Both Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds and Edo Blossoms are discounted during the Steam Spring sale, but you should definitely play Kyoto Winds first if you haven’t tried the series before. Surrounded by hunky samurai from the shinsengumi during the Edo period in Japan, it tells an old-school story, with a supernatural twist. Hakuoki is known for its huge number of suitors, and if you don’t mind letting your boyfriend drink your blood now and then, this is the game for you.

Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds is priced at $5.99 during the Steam Spring Sale.

Ozmafia! 6h5r6n

Screenshot from Ozmafia. Three people look at the camera.

Ozmafia! has 13 different love interests, vast branching routes with multiple endings each, and an overarching story, or Grand Route, if you manage to romance them all. Waking up with no memory in a war torn world, you get closer to those around you in the hope that you can all survive. A story that goes in every way possible with a huge pay off at the end.

Ozmafia! costs $17.49 until the end of the Steam Spring Sale.

London Detective Mysteria 2m4t5e

Screenshot from London Detective Mysteria. A butler is stood behind a young woman in a ballgown.

London Detective Mysteria is one of the beefier otome games out there, with a large number of suitors and very long varied stories for each potential companion. Attending a detective school for those gifted in the art of deduction, you’ll meet – and can romance – famous characters from crime fact and fiction, such as Sherlock Holmes, John Watson, Arsène Lupin, and Jack the Ripper. The perfect otome game for those who want to spend a long time wrapped up in a single world.

London Detective Mysteria is $14.99 until the end of the Steam Spring Sale.

Taisho X Alice 542a6v

Screenshot from Taisho X Alice. A male Princess Kaguya looks up at the player.

An episodic visual novel based on popular fairy tales, Taisho X Alice is an otome for those who want to be carried away in the fantasy. Across the game’s three episodes and epilogue you’ll romance seven gender-swapped fairytale princesses like Red Riding Hood, Snow White, and Cinderella. An otome for those who like twists on traditional stories.

Every episode of Taisho X Alice can be purchased as a bundle during the Steam Spring Sale for $14.99.

Amnesia: Memories 414a5v

Screenshot from Amnesia: Memories. A man bites a ring and looks at the camera.

Amnesia: Memories is a classic game in the otome genre, and is the first game that many fans of the genre played. Waking up with no memory, and a pixie called Orion that only you can see, you try to find out what your life was like before without letting those around you learn how vulnerable you are. Whether you want a man who women find irresistible, or one who doesn’t understand social cues at all, then Amnesia: Memories is the classic for you.

Amnesia: Memories is just $5.99 during the Steam Spring Sale.

Steam Prison 2pm72

Screenshot from Steam Prison. Three me and a woman sit around a heater

In a world of the haves and the have nots, our heroine lives in the utopia of the Heights, looking down on all those who live in the Depths. However, after being framed for her parents murder she is dropped below, and must befriend the hunky civilians in order to survive. The overall concept is strong, but the characterization is a little weaker, so it’s one we wouldn’t recommend if you are just dipping your toes into the genre.

Steam Prison is $17.49 until the end of the Steam Spring Sale.

Nightshade 2i626f

Screenshot from Nightshade of a group of characters gathered around.

If you didn’t get your fill of samurai hotties with the Hakuoki series, then Nightshade should fill the gap. More than just full of enticing romances, Nightshade has five routes, and goes heavy on the world building of the lives of people in the Sengoku period. An otome with a traditional story structure, but has made sure that everything is well put together.

Nightshade costs $19.24 during the Steam Spring Sale.

The Steam Spring Sale is on now and ends on March 20, 2025.

In a world of the haves and the have nots, our heroine lives in the utopia of the Heights, looking down on all those who live in the Depths. However, after being framed for her parents murder she is dropped below, and must befriend the hunky civilians in order to survive. The overall concept is strong, but the characterization is a little weaker, so it’s one we wouldn’t recommend if you are just dipping your toes into the genre.

Steam Prison is $17.49 until the end of the Steam Spring Sale.

Fangamer Selling Stardew Valley Physical Switch Deluxe Edition

Fangamer is now carrying a new Stardew Valley physical deluxe edition version for the Switch. This doesn’t include any additional in-game content. All of the bonuses are tied to physical items packed in the box. It costs $59. [Thanks, Wario64!]

First, this version of the game starts with the standard physical copy of the farming sim on a cartridge. A small instruction manual is packed into the box as well. The new additions involve a number of arty items. One is a wooden pin that shows a blue Junimo sitting next to some items you can gather in the game. You also get a replica of the deed to your grandpa’s farm. A 12-page comic from Chihiro Sakaida is included. There are also art cards featuring seasons and some businesses in game, as well as a matching mini poster.

This deluxe edition is the third Switch Stardew Valley physical copy option Fangamer offered. The first is the standard one, which is always around and costs $35. The retailer also previously offered a collector’s edition bundle. That debuted in 2020 and cost $69.

There are a number of other items tied to the farming sim that debuted recently. One is an Official Stardew Valley Cookbook with recipes inspired by ones we cook or bake in-game. A new Festival of Seasons concert tour kicked off in 2025 too.

Stardew Valley is available for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PCs, mobile devices, and the PlayStation Vita, with 1.6 available on all platforms except the Vita.

I’m Shocked at the Wealth of Stardew Valley Jujutsu Kaisen Mods

The modding scene is full of fans who bring their favorite characters, weapons, outfits, vehicles, and even UI elements to other games. It’s completely normal and expected, and I’m always delighted to see when it happens! I dove back into Stardew Valley now that I started playing it on a PC and noticed something unusual, however, and that is that there is an absolutely shocking number of mods based on Jujutsu Kaisen

Yes, of course some of these Jujutsu Kaisen mods mean characters like Satoru Gojo are dateable in Stardew Valley. I mean, of course.

Some of these are absolutely well-made jokes. Yujis-Hat’s Horse Gojo is one of them. It makes the horse look like Gojo is running around on all fours with a saddle on his back. (No judgment.) The same can be said for hanbweh’s Jujutsu Cats - Gojo and Geto, which gives you options like a black cat with eyes constantly shut or a white cat with Gojo’s sunglasses. These are there more to make you laugh or smile when you see them.

However, there’s also an extraordinary dedicated collection of Jujutsu Kaisen Stardew Valley mods not only dedicated to bringing the characters into the game, but making them available in multiple languages so more of us can enjoy them. Of course, Satoru Gojo is a romance option, thanks to a Cursedcure mod. It’s also available in languages like Bahasa Indonesian (Shofiyul), Russian (koten0k92) and Chinese (Mangusten). Want to date Suguru Geto? You have a season two option from hanbweh or one based on his other appearance throughout the series by kryptonimus. Megumi Fushiguro and Nobara Kugisaki aren’t popular enough to be a fan-made Stardew Valley romance option (yet), but Yujis-Hat made a Yuji Itadori one and Loonimae added Toge Inumaki to help represent Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School.

I’m Shocked at the Wealth of Stardew Valley Jujutsu Kaisen Mods
Image via kryptonimus

There are so many Jujutsu Kaisen character mods for Stardew Valley, it’s honestly just easier if I list them. You know, keep anyone from being left out.

The thing is, there isn’t that same array for other anime and manga. Interested in Naruto? There’s a Kakashi NPC from MadaraAnggara. Like One Piece? All you can find is Luffy’s straw hat from Mayvis Delacour

It’s fascinating to see how of the Stardew Valley community really embraced Jujutsu Kaisen to mod it into the game. Especially since such an array of characters ended up making it in. Honestly, I’m hoping we end up seeing more of the cast get a chance to show up.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is one of the best games released in the 2020s thus far. The freedom to make your island exactly what you want from top to bottom and villager to villager is incredible. It is also a relaxing and enjoyable experience that is far from the stressful, action-packed other games. So, what are the best games like Animal Crossing? Here are my picks for the titles you should check out if you love games like this.

Disney Dreamlight Valley 3b2zw

You can’t look at Dreamlight Valley and not tell me this is just basically a Disney take on Animal Crossing. It has the same ideas of customizing your character, gathering items, your house, and befriending the villagers in town. Except the difference here is the villagers are some of the most iconic animated characters, from Mickey Mouse to Moana and more. Disney fans should not miss out on this one.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure 321e2h

After many years, we finally have the chance to play the game Butters famously spoke about in the South Park episode “Make Love, Not Warcraft.” And it turns out Butters was obsessed with this game for a reason. It takes the usual Animal Crossing formula and swaps the villagers out for beloved Sanrio characters like Cinnamoroll, Kuromi, and Gudetama.

Dinkum 506r6a

This Australia-based life sim game wears its Animal Crossing inspiration on its sleeve. Not only do the characters and art style feel reminiscent of Nintendo’s own series, but the mechanics, gameplay, and even the UI look remarkably similar. It is still in early access so some key features are still missing, but it is a joy to play in co-op with friends nonetheless.

Stardew Valley 6810v

Sure, Stardew Valley is essentially a 2D pixel art take on the amazing Story of Seasons series, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t appeal to Animal Crossing lovers as well. Fishing, farming, and other key features of that Nintendo series are all present here. Plus, you get to not only get to know the villagers in town, but romance some of them as well.

Not to mention this is a truly endless game with limitless content, both officially and unofficially from the community, so you’ll never run out of stuff to do.

Beyond the four above, there are still other games worth checking out that are surprisingly similar to Animal Crossing. Be it in the villagers aspect, the home decor part, or even just the various cozy features you can do around the world like fishing and bug collecting, these are the best games that truly feel similar to Animal Crossing:

 • Infinity Nikki
 • Cozy Grove
 • Hokko Life
 • Spiritfarer
 • Ooblets

Stardew Valley: Festival of Seasons Concert Tour Runs from 2025-2026

A second Stardew Valley concert tour will begin next year, with the 2025 run being called Stardew Valley: Festival of Seasons. This will once again be a worldwide tour, and it will start in Seattle, Washington sometime in August 2025. Ticket sales will open on the official site at 9am local time on November 25, 2024, and newsletter registration will be available there too.

Few details are available about these latest performances. SOHO Live is involved, just like last time. Apparently, themes from the Pelican Town, Calico Desert, and Ginger Island regions will all be played. A full orchestra will perform them, with 35 playing. We also know the first stop is Seattle, Washington in August 2025, and the last performance will be held in an as-yet unannounced city in Hawaii in March 2026. In total, performances will be held in 18 countries worldwide.

Here’s the official key art for this performance. It features an orchestral performance at The Summit above Pelican Town.

The first Stardew Valley concert tour started in February 2024. It featured multiple stops in cities like New York, Seattle, Chicago, Toronto, Melbourne, London, and Seoul.

Stardew Valley is available for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PCs, mobile devices, and the PlayStation Vita, with 1.6 available on all platforms except the Vita.

The Best Way to Play Stardew Valley Is on the Switch o44y https://siliconera.voiranime.info/the-best-way-to-play-stardew-valley-is-on-the-switch/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=the-best-way-to-play-stardew-valley-is-on-the-switch https://siliconera.voiranime.info/the-best-way-to-play-stardew-valley-is-on-the-switch/#respond <![CDATA[Cody Perez]]> Sat, 16 Nov 2024 17:00:00 +0000 <![CDATA[Android]]> <![CDATA[iOS]]> <![CDATA[Nintendo Switch]]> <![CDATA[PC]]> <![CDATA[PlayStation 4]]> <![CDATA[Xbox One]]> <![CDATA[ConcernedApe]]> <![CDATA[Europe]]> <![CDATA[Japan]]> <![CDATA[North America]]> <![CDATA[Playtests]]> <![CDATA[Stardew Valley]]> https://siliconera.voiranime.info/?p=1063487 <![CDATA[

One of the most beautiful parts about Stardew Valley is that it is available pretty much everywhere in the gaming world. Don’t have a gaming PC? Not a problem, as you can play it on console. Don’t have a dedicated game console, either? You can play on a mobile device. But if you want the best platform to play Stardew Valley, I feel the Nintendo Switch version still stands tall at the top.

Right off the bat, one of my favorite features of the Switch version of this beloved indie farming sim is its price. It is already pretty darn cheap at only $14.99, which is more than a bargain. Stardew Valley has more high-quality content than many full retail AAA games I’ve played. Better yet, it is the same price on Switch as everywhere else, at least in North America.

The consistent price might sound like an odd benefit, but there are a fair number of indie games that are slightly more expensive on Switch than Steam. Plus, there are occasionally sales as well on this game. Beyond that, there are no performance or visual sacrifices you have to make playing this game on Switch.

The game is older than Switch and in 2D, so it runs perfectly on there. If you happen to have a Nintendo Switch OLED version, it is even better. The crisp, colorful, and bright visuals look the most stunning on the OLED screen than any other platform. But, more importantly than that, there is the matter of the Switch’s hybrid nature.

Unlike the other consoles, PC, and even mobile, you have immediate access to the most play options on Switch. You can, of course, play in handheld mode if you want and take the farming experience anywhere you like in the entire world. But you can also slide the Switch in the dock and instantly start playing on your TV at home in any room you want.

The other platforms may offer that, such as PlayStation Remote Play, or hooking up a Steam Deck to a monitor or TV, but they all have various constraints or loops to go through. The Switch version just works without any problems. And then there is the matter of presumed backwards compatibility with the unannounced Nintendo Switch 2.

Screenshot by Siliconera

We know the Switch 2 will be backwards compatible with the original Switch’s games. This will include Stardew Valley. So you could can enjoy the farming sim right now on the original Switch, then benefit from the power of the console’s successor in the future as well. It is clear to me that if you want to play the base Stardew Valley, the best platform is always Switch.

However, there is one downside to the Switch version: the inability to use mods. Mods are such a massive part of this farming sim title. It lets you customize how characters look, add new content, and change your farm. The mod community for Stardew Valley is one of the best in all of PC gaming. As such, there is a clear runner-up for the best platform to play Stardew Valley.

That runner-up is none other than the Steam Deck. It plays this game beautifully, even with its less-than-impressive power. In addition, it is simple enough to use mods with the likes of Nexus Mods. Plus, it can hook up to an external TV or monitor if you have the right equipment. That said, it is a pricey and sometimes frustrating way to play. As such, if you don’t care about mods, Nintendo Switch is the way to go.

Screenshot by Siliconera

In the end, Nintendo Switch feels like the Stardew Valley. It plays flawlessly, looks the most graphically impressive on the OLED screen, and, best of all, you can play it anywhere. At home, on the couch, laying in bed, at the coffee shop, on the plane, at school, and so on. If you want the easiest and best platform to play Stardew Valley, it is hands down Nintendo Switch.

Stardew Valley is available right now for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile devices. It also appeared on the Vita.

Stardew Valley Pet Hats Causing Issues and Lag

One of the new features in the 1.6 Stardew Valley update is the ability to put hats on pets, but it seems that’s causing performance issues like lag in the game. Eric “Concerned Ape” Barone took to social media to direct all players to remove the decorations to solve the problem.

Concerned Ape noted this is a known issue. There’s no fix out yet. However, a patch will be issued to remedy the problem when it is possible. Since known Stardew Valley performance issues seem to be coming from people who did put hats on pets, removing them until a future update can address the problem should completely eliminate the issue.

In response to someone else commenting on the problem and asking about lore, Concerned Ape brought up an in-world explanation for why pets can’t currently wear hats in Stardew Valley

https://twitter.com/ConcernedApe/status/1853890739413082199

This isn’t the only part of Stardew Valley that might not work exactly as expected in 1.6. The update added experimental multiplayer to the mobile version of the game. As it is still in development, those who choose to enter the cheat code to enable it and test it out might find it doesn’t work as well as the console and PC version multiplayer experiences.

Stardew Valley is available for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PCs, mobile devices, and the PlayStation Vita. Patch 1.6 is available on the Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile devices.

1.6 Stardew Valley Mobile Patch Adds Experimental Multiplayer

Eric “Concerned Ape” Barone announced that it is possible for mobile Stardew Valley players to try out experimental multiplayer if they updated to the 1.6 version of the game. However, it is in development and not guaranteed to work.

Accessing the 1.6 Stardew Valley experimental mobile multiplayer involves entering a cheat code of sorts. The official site included an official screenshot with instructions. Essentially, we would need to tap the four leaves on the title screen in order, then tap the ? button on the main menu screen.

Here are the official instructions, alongside the official image, to unlock the co-op main menu option.

“Using the guide below, tap the leaves in this order: ↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → … Then press the “?” button in the bottom right corner of the screen. (Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, ? )”

You could also think of this as tapping the upper right leaf twice, the lower left leaf twice, the upper left leaf, the lower right leaf, the upper left leaf, the lower left leaf, and the question block.

The host needs to have a farm and cabins ready, as well as get their IP address from their device in the Wi-Fi/Internet settings section for the other players. The other mobile players, after entering the cheat code, need to enter the IP as well. Everyone will need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi router or hotspot. Concerned Ape also cautioned against using a cell phone network. Those on mobile devices would be able to connect to other mobile players or a PC.

As a reminder, the 1.6 series of updates for Stardew Valley increased the multiplayer cap on platforms that it. Up to eight people can now play together.

Stardew Valley is available for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PCs, mobile devices, and the PlayStation Vita.

Eric “Concerned Ape” Barone shared the exact release time for the Stardew Valley console and mobile patch 1.6 release time. It will roll out at 10am PT/1pm ET/7pm CET on November 4, 2024. This follows the March 2024 debut of the update for PCs.

 • If you lost an item that can’t be found again, a new friend appears in the secret woods who can get it back (for a price).

 • You can now place beds and sleep inside any constructed buildings that allow furniture.

 • Sam and Shane now have work portraits while working at JojaMart.

1.6 Stardew Valley Console and Mobile Release Time Set

Eric “Concerned Ape” Barone shared the exact release time for the Stardew Valley console and mobile patch 1.6 release time. It will roll out at 10am PT/1pm ET/7pm CET on November 4, 2024. This follows the March 2024 debut of the update for PCs.

Concerned Ape also noted that the release time for the console and mobile versions of the Stardew Valley 1.6 patch might vary. The 10am PT/1pm ET/7pm CET time is an estimate. So it might be a little early or late, depending on which system you use to play the farming sim. The announcement also confirmed that it will cover all 1.6 content up through 1.6.9.

Here are the full patch notes for the Stardew Valley console and mobile 1.6.9 update from the official website. Concerned Ape noted that Pathoschild put them all together for us.

New content & features

 • If you lost an item that can’t be found again, a new friend appears in the secret woods who can get it back (for a price).
 • You can now put legendary fish in fish ponds. These are limited to one per pond and produce legendary fish roe. Each fish has a unique water color.
 • You can now place beds and sleep inside any constructed buildings that allow furniture.

Ova Magica most underrated farming sim cozy game

Cozy games are some of the best video games to play right now across all platforms. Whether it is a large budget experience like Animal Crossing: New Horizons or a smaller title like Moonstone Island, cozy games are the place to be. But what about the forgotten or misunderstood farming sims and cozy games? This is what we have to say about the most underrated farming sim and cozy game of all time.

Siliconera Speaks Up: Most Underrated Farming Sim and Cozy Game 671x24

Setting aside the (deserved) fan favorites like Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing, and Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town, more people need to check out Trio of Towns and Harvestella. Trio of Towns is up there as the best in its series for me, with such a diverse landscape to explore, varying economies, and so many excellent characters.

Meanwhile, Harvestella didn’t get nearly the attention it deserved. It truly feels like Final Fantasy-meets-Story of Seasons in all the right ways. It was rough around the edges, especially on the Switch performance-wise, but the mix of story, dungeon-crawling, job classes, and farming could easily pave the way for a fantastic sequel.

Finally, my last pick for this category is a much more recent entry. Ova Magica is an indie game that impressed me upon its release earlier this year. It certainly wears its inspirations on its sleeves, but I appreciate that. The charm of farming sim-meets-Pokemon works surprisingly well. Every aspect of the title, from the farming to romance to turn-based battles are terrific. It fares much better than other similar attempts to marry these genres in the past. It is only a shame it is in early access for now. The content is a bit too light at this time. -- Cody

I wasn't immediately intrigued by Fields of Mistria, but after playing it I was really impressed by how quickly and unobtrusively it established the character of its townspeople. I also second Harvestella. That story didn't quite go where I was expecting but I loved it and would love to see more iterations on its ideas. -- Elliot

Stardew Valley is a pretty cozy, relaxing, and peaceful farming sim game. Even with the dungeon-crawling aspect and light combat, it is still much calmer than most games. However, perhaps you don’t want that for the Halloween season. If you want the best Stardew Valley Halloween mods to spice up and terrify this otherwise cozy game, you’re in the right place.

Best Stardew Valley Halloween Mods: Haunted Woods Farm 203k22

One of the signature parts of Stardew Valley is picking the farm type you want to start out with. Since this is a huge decision, it can affect how you feel about your farm. This mod adds the Haunted Woods Farm option. As you might expect, your farm is in the middle of some spooky woods that will be unnerving no matter the season.

It also has some quality-of-life features like boundaries for NPCs like animals so you don’t lose them, which is a nice touch. My favorite part, though, is how the Haunted Woods Farm changes in appearance throughout the four seasons.

Monster Invasion 63634

Some might say that this farming sim is a bit too peaceful at times, especially since most of the combat happens in the mines. If that is you, this is the mod for you. It makes this game much more like Minecraft and other survival games in which nighttime is far deadlier. Monsters will invade all across the world once night falls. This can lead to some intense moments as you fend off slimes, ghosts, and more as you try to make it back home in time.

Ghost Town 281j27

The villagers in this game are some of the best parts of the entire experience. So, what if they were all dead? Yes, this mod turns everyone into a ghost, except they don’t know they are one. If you explore enough, you will even find their corpses, which will clue you in to how they met their demise.

This is by far the most sinister and genuinely scariest mod I’ve experienced for the game, and it adds such a neat lore layer to the experience. Just beware there is some heavy content handled in this mod, which may be triggering.

Stardew Valley is available for Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Stardew Valley is available for Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

stardew valley 1.6 mobile

ConcernedApe has announced the release date for Stardew Valley 1.6 on consoles and mobile devices. Players on those platforms will finally be able to it on November 4, 2024.

Version 1.6 of Stardew Valley appeared on Windows PCs in March 2024. However, those playing Stardew Valley on devices like their phones, the Switch, or the PS4 were unable to partake in the new updates. In July 2024, ConcernedApe gave an update, stating that he’s been personally working on the mobile version every day. He gave yet another progress report in August 2024, which included some more information on Haunted Chocolatier. Namely that he hasn’t worked on it in a while because he was devoting so much time to Stardew Valley Version 1.6.

Players on platforms like the Switch will be able to use their old saves even in the new version of the game. Some added activities include festivals. There will also be new cosmetics, dialogue options for NPCs, systems, and farm types. On top of that, there were quality-of-life updates to the game and balance changes.

Stardew Valley is readily available on the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC. Version 1.6 for platforms other than PC will come out on November 4, 2024 as a free update.

ConcernedApe has taken to Twitter to discuss the status of Stardew Valley console and mobile ports, as well as the development of Haunted Chocolatier. While there aren’t any details in the Tweet, he assures fans that they’ve been working on them and they’re the primary focus since Stardew Valley Version 1.6 appeared on PC.

Fans in the replies have been more than understanding for the delay. A lot of them thank ConcernedApe for all the work that he’s done in general.
