The Pokemon Center is now accepting Dragonite and Marill Squishmallow plush pre-orders, following a tease earlier in April 2024. There’s no expected release window for either one yet, but they are $29.99 each as usual. 

Both the Dragonite and Marill plush are 12 inches tall. However, that sizing doesn’t take into their decorative accents. For example, Dragonite has wings and a tail on its back that add a little extra width and length to the plush. Meanwhile, the Marill has a spherical tail that sits alongside it and tall ears. Both of them feature the Squishmallows style that obscures most limbs, but you can see arms stitched onto their bellies.

The product pages for both items note they will not be restocked. This applies to the special edition that includes a hang tag and patch on the back that notes these particular Squishmallows were sold only through the Pokemon Center. Like past Pokemon character plush in this series, they should appear in major retailers like Target and Walgreens a few months after their Pokemon Center debut. However, if it follows the past pattern, those will be in different sizes and not feature the back patch and special tag.

While leaks ahead of launch suggested Dragonite would be among the next Pokemon Squishmallow plush, the official Pokemon Center email newsletter confirmed it will the collection alongside Marill. No launch date other than “soon” was announced.

The initial image showing off both the Squishmallow Dragonite and Marill only offers a glimpse of their faces. We can see the Dragonite has its antennae, wings, and tail, as well as a large snout. Meanwhile, the Marill has large ears. We can’t see if that one will include its round tail.

It’s important to note that the Pokemon Center is always the first retailer to offer new plush in this line. The Pokemon Center versions all tend to be the 12 inch variety and cost $29.99. They also all have a special patch on the back and tag that note they were purchased from there. 

After that, they eventually show up at other retailers like Target, Walgreens, and Walmart. Later releases at other stores have different tags, no patches, and can appear in smaller or larger sizes.

While these stuffed toys can sell out at the Pokemon Center, sometimes they’re available longer than expected. For example, while the original Pikachu, Gengar, Togepi, and Snorlax ones are sold out at the Pokemon Center, the Winking Pikachu, Clefairy, Teddiursa, and Piplup are in stock as of 2pm ET on April 24, 2024.

A Walmart product listing for a Dragonite Pokemon Squishmallow plush appeared online. It is unavailable to buy, but includes screenshots and details about pricing. [Thanks, Mzumwalde23 and Britzaaaa on Reddit!]

When the Dragonite does appear, it will apparently cost $14.97 for the 10 inch size. This is in line with Walmart’s pricing for this line and size. (The Clefairy and Piplup ones there cost about the same amount.) The initial photos also show it will have the character’s distinctive antennae, wings, and tail.

It’s important to note that these plush tend to debut in the Pokemon Center first at a larger size. Those ones also have a special patch on the back and tag.

It isn’t uncommon for Dragonite to show up as a plush for Pokemon lines. For example, Build-a-Bear offered one back in December 2020. That one was notable, as it was larger than the typical Build-a-Bear Pokemon stuffed toy.

There have been quite a few Pokemon Squishmallow toys so far. Things started with Pikachu and Gengar. Togepi and Snorlax showed up after that. Piplup and a Pikachu variant followed. The most recent ones that appeared at the end of 2023 were Clefairy and Teddiursa plush. 

There’s no release window or official announcement for the Dragonite Pokemon Squishmallow just yet.

Back in September 2023, Jazwares and The Pokemon Company International teased Clefary and Teddiursa Squishmallow plush, and now they debuted on Black Friday. Both are only available in the official Pokemon Center storefront for now. 

While the pre-orders are live on Black Friday 2023, it will be a while before either Squishmallow will appear. Both have a mid-January 2024 release window. People won’t be charged the $29.99 fee until either one ships. Both of them cost the same price.

Both of them also are the same size and have the same special features. They stand at 12 inches tall. As these are the official Pokemon Center release of the toys, there is a Poke Ball patch on the right side of their back and they feature a special hang tag. When they release at other retailers following the Pokemon Center debut, they will not have the patch and could appear in different sizes.

Here’s a closer look at both the Clefairy and Teddiursa Pokemon Squishmallow plush. The Teddiursa has the distinctive moon on its forehead, as well as puffy tail and big ears. The Clefairy Squishmallow has its small wings and curled tail on the back.

Pre-orders for both plush are now open. They are expected to appear in January 2024. A retail release will likely happen after. They other entries in the collection like Piplup and Winking Pikachu.

Jazwares announced the next two Squishmallow Pokemon plush will be Clefairy and Teddiursa. It made the reveal on social media. However, the announcement is still early on. There are no prototypes for the characters or release dates. All the company showed off was concept art for both characters.

Here's the Squishmallow Clefairy and Teddiursa reveal. As with past entries in this line, the characters' front arms or paws are shown on their stomachs. Each one has their familiar faces and eyes, as opposed to normal Squishmallow black dots. They both will also have their oversized ears and distinctive accents. However, we only see concept art from the front, so we don't know what their tails will look like on the back.

This will mark the eighth and ninth entries in the PokemonPikachu and Gengar. After that, Snorlax and Togepi appeared. After that, Piplup, Winking Pikachu, and a holiday Pikachu ended up confirmed. In every case, a "limited" version of the character with a special patch shows up in the Pokemon Center storefront before the more widespread retail release.

The Pokemon Center started accepting pre-orders for the new Piplup and Winking Pikachu Squishmallows. They are both 12 inch versions of the characters. Each one costs $29.99. They are expected to ship in "early September 2023," but there's no exact release date for either one.

As these are the Pokemon Center versions of the plush, it means both will feature a special patch on the back. These note that they came from this store. Other releases, which will likely show up at places like Walmart and Target, won't feature this additional marking.

We already learned about another new variant recently. In November 2023, a holiday Pikachu Squishmallow will appear. It is wearing a Santa hat. They characters like standard Pikachu, Gengar, Togepi, and Snorlax. All four of those are already available and, while not available at the Pokemon Center, show up in other stores sometimes.

The Pokemon Piplup and Winking Pikachu Squishmallow plush will ship in September 2023. Pre-orders are available while supplies last.

A Pikachu Squishmallow holiday variant is on the way, with the character wearing a Santa hat to get in the Christmas spirit. While the toy didn't show up at the Pokemon Center first, as what happened with the original version and Gengar one, pre-orders did already open up at Target. It is $24.99 and will apparently begin shipping on November 5, 2023. [Thanks, Wario64!]

The Pikachu Squishmallow holiday variant seems to be practically identical to the original model, save for the Santa hat. It will stand at 14” tall. Also, since this is a widely available model and not a Pokemon Center early release, there is no patch on its back to note the limited availability. This would mark the third variant in the line, as a Winking Pikachu will appear alongside Piplup in 2023.

This means there are now seven confirmed characters in this Pokemon Squishmallow lineup. First, Pikachu and Gengar ones appeared. Those were followed by Snorlax and Togepi variants. The next two will be Piplup and Winking Pikachu.

The holiday Pikachu Squishmallow will appear ahead of Christmas 2023, with the Target pre-order page suggesting it will begin showing up in stores on November 5, 2023.

Jazwares and Kelly Toys announced the next two Pokemon Squishmallow plush toys are Piplup and a new winking Pikachu. This will mark the second sort of Pikachu variant in the collection. There's no release date yet, but the official did share a picture of the two new plush alongside the six already in the lineup.

The first two characters in this line were Pikachu and Gengar. They initially showed up in the Pokemon Center online storefront. Those versions of the toys are different from the ones in wider circulation, as they feature a special patch on the back noting where the person bought them. After launch, they eventually also showed up in stores like Amazon, Best Buy, Target, Walgreens, and Walmart.

The second two to the collection were Snorlax and Togepi. Like Gengar and Pikachu, they first appeared in the Pokemon Center in April 2023. There have been reports of the two designs appearing in additional stores like Box Lunch and Target. However, they aren't widespread releases yet.

The fifth and sixth Pokemon Squishmallow stuffed animals will be Piplup and winking Pikachu. Both are in development ahead of their widespread release

The next wave of Pokemon Squishmallows is here, with Snorlax and Togepi appearing at the Pokemon Center. The 12 inch varieties of both are available. The product listings for Snorlax and Togepi note each one is $29.99. As of 1:45pm ET on April 28, 2023, the Snorlax was already showing as "out of stock" due to selling out.

Both the Snorlax and Togepi Squishmallows recreate the classic Pokemon characters in that plush line's style. Each one is minimalistic, with only their arms appearing. Due to these being the Pokemon Center releases of both, they each feature a patch from the retailer on their backs.

The United Kingdom Pokemon Center website is now selling Snorlax and Togepi Squishmallow plush. Neither one appeared on the website for the United States yet. Each one is a 12 inch model, just like the original Gengar and Pikachu variants. They are £25.99 each.

First, here's a closer look at the Snorlax Pokemon Squishmallow. Like the Gengar and Pikachu that showed up first in the Pokemon Center, it features a special patch on its back that features a Poke Ball.

Next, here's how the Togepi Pokemon Squishmallow looks. Its Poke Ball patch is a bit higher up on its body, but remains on the right side of its back.

As a reminder, the Gengar and Pikachu ones first showed up in the Pokemon Center in November 2022. Following that initial release, they gradually rolled out to other retailers. Those versions lacked a patch on the back and the special tags. They were also available in a wider variety of sizes. They eventually appeared in retailers like Claires, GameStop, Target, Walmart

The Snorlax and Togepi Squishmallow plush are in the UK Pokemon Center while supplies last. There's no word yet on when either one will appear in the North American site.

Now that these Squishmallow plush toys are popular, it means all sorts of crossovers. Pokemon and Sonic the Hedgehog characters already had their turn. Now, the latest assortment involves a Godzilla Squishmallow collaboration. Godzilla, Mothra, Mechagodzilla, and Rodan are all part of the initial four. After finding two a local store, I was pleasantly surprised to see how strong the likenesses are, as well as how friendly they look in this incarnation.

Both the Godzilla and Mothra Squishmallows I picked up are part of the 8” toy line. This makes them a bit too small to use as an actual pillow, like the Pikachu variant. They’re more of a decorative piece like a throw pillow or something to hug. (Both were a bit too tall to place on my normal stuffed animal shelf with some Animal Crossing and Story of Seasons plush, as they’d dominate the other two.) But they fit well on a desk or placed on my desk chair when I’m not using it.

The quality on both plush is rather nice. Each one is soft and well-made. Godzilla has a number of spines along his back, leading down to his tail. He also has a friendly, toothy smile to him. I’d say I was more impressed with Mothra, in of quality. There are so many different types of fabrics used, the eyes’ material has a gradation to it. Plus, as a nod to being a giant moth, her stomach is quite fluffy. The only knock against her I’d say is that the wings could have been a bit bigger, as while displaying you can barely see them.

The level of detail and extra attention to Mothra’s design also means it is the more immediately recognizable of the two. Even without seeing the wings, anyone aware of Godzilla and the existence of these Squishmallows inspired by it would probably be able to tell who this is. Meanwhile, Godzilla can look a bit more like a generic dinosaur that happens to be the same color as Godzilla. Unless you turn it around and see the three rows of spines down the back, you might not catch which character it is.

I think what I appreciated most about it is just having a friendly sort of Godzilla toy. I grew up watching the older movies with my grandfather, but it seemed when I was a kid that most items involved plastic toys and figures that didn’t appeal to me. Granted, now I do have a space decorated to such things, but getting an additional option, especially with Mothra being among the announced batch, meant a chance to get a sort of stuffed animal I’d have loved when younger.

Both the Godzilla and Mothra Squishmallows are interesting options that essentially offer an extra option for people who want merchandise based on the series, but perhaps not more traditional items. Both are absolutely all-ages sorts of collectibles. They’re a good size where they aren’t obnoxiously large, but could be a nice accent on a couch or bed. Also, while Godzilla could be mistaken for some sort of unrelated, prehistoric creature, the likenesses are still generally good. Especially in the case of Mothra, who is quite distinctive. They’re a fun extra option.

The Godzilla 8” Squishmallow collection is now available, with Godzilla, Mothra, Mechagodzilla, and Rodan at places like Learning Express and Toydrops for $15-20.

Another video game series is getting its own line of Squishmallow stuffed animals, as plush toys of Sonic the Hedgehog, Tails the Fox, Knuckles the Echidna, and Shadow the Hedgehog ed the collection. All four are immediately available at Toy Drops. These appear to only be available while supplies last.

There are two ways to get the plush toys. People can buy them individually or in a group. A single one is $19.99 for an eight inch tall plush toy. The full set of four is $74.99.

Both characters are live on the site. The Gengar and Pikachu will ship immediately. The price for both the Gengar and Pikachu Squishmallows is $29.99 each.

The announcement also means additional details came out about the characters. Each one is 12 inches tall. They also both have a Poke Ball embroidered on their backs. With standard shipping, they arrive within five to nine days.

There are special offers in effect at the Pokemon Center store for the holidays. First, there is free shipping for orders over $20. Since the Pikachu and Gengar are each over $29.99, it qualifies. Also, there is a free Pikachu Pokemon Winter Wonders flat brass ornament offer. If you make a qualifying purchase, it will automatically be added to your cart. It is only for orders shipping to the US, however, and goes out only while supplies last.

The price seems to be fairly average for the characters. For example, at BoxLunch an eight inch Squishmallow costs $19.90.
