Sega sent Famitsu a few details about Sonic Generations. The magazine confirmed Metal Sonic from Sonic CD is in the game as a rival for Modern and Classic Sonic.
"I realize there are two big groups of Sonic fans," Takashi Iizuka, Sonic Team lead said to Siliconera. "Last year, I tried satisfy both groups with Sonic Colors for modern Sonic fans and side-scrolling fans with Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1."
Sonic turns 20 years old on June 23 and Sega is handing out a Sonic Generations demo as a party favor. it and you can play Green Hill Zone Act 1 with Classic Sonic.
Behind closed doors, Takashi Iizuka, Producer, gave Siliconera a better look at the Dreamcast stage with both Sonics. Starting with Classic Sonic, City Escape was presented in 2.5D.
Yuji Naka, Hirokazu Yasuhara, and Naoto Oshima – the creators of the original Sonic the Hedgehog together – take the stage with... Sonic the Hedgehog. Seems like something natural, but the three founding of Sonic Team left Sega years ago.
