Listen, I don’t know if a lot of other people feel this way, but I still get genuinely sad about SINoALICE shutting down. I thought the concept for the Square Enix mobile game ended up being great. It was fun to play! Some of the SINoALICE characters turned out to be equal parts fascinating and heartbreaking. I kept up with the manga from Yoko Taro, Takuto Aoki, Himiko, and Jino, as it felt like a way to still the series and go through a story with folks I (virtually) rooted for. Now that the final volume of the SINoALICE manga is here, it’s a bittersweet experience that brings back heartbreak, though volume 6 still offers a new sense of resolution and closure.

If you are coming in to the SINoALICE manga with this as your first volume, turn right back around. It’s completely impossible. So much important context and events are brought up prior to this. If you did follow along, well, then it’s just the ultimate conclusion of all the people who were fighting in the hopes of getting what they want possibly making a dream come true. Things begin with Parrah and Noya telling the Game Master Gretel that there would be no winner in this death game, there’s no master, and that basically the two of them would be the only thing coming close to a “winner.” Gretel refuses to accept that. Which means right away, we’re dealing with the aftermath of people’s lives being toyed with.

But before we can even digest that, there’s the other consequences of the death game’s actions. Alice, Snow White, Dorothy, and Cinderella all managed to survive and defeat Red Riding Hood. But, there’s no rest, as she’s essentially become a black hole because of her desire. And while some of these figures are “safe,” we see Sleeping Beauty on the verge of being a casualty and Pinocchio ready to sacrifice himself for the sake of her and Snow. But even though people could be fleeing or turning on each other, we’re seeing everyone come together. They’re trying to do all they can to survive, even perhaps for the sake of others if not themselves. So even if people had negative traits prior to this, they’re getting a chance at redemption.

Which means when Gretel unites with the other SINoALICE characters, we get this grand “boss fight.” There’s this opportunity to really settle things. It isn’t like when the game ended. It feels more like it’s on the proper . Like the manga is really addressing the situation in the right way and more definitively closing out the story. Plus by bringing Alice, Snow, Cinderella, Dorothy, and Gretel together for this final push against Red, it’s like destiny is being taken into their own hands. 

I also appreciated how the closing of the SINoALICE manga brings everything back to both “reality” and the Act of Impulse characters who started it all. Dorothy aside, we’re really back to the core “heroes” of Alice, Snow White, Cinderella, Red Riding Hood, and Gretel again. We’re coming full circle. So when the actual end arrives, I felt like the conclusion and winner felt especially appropriate and poignant. 

Getting through the SINoALICE manga is satisfying, even though this tale and fates of characters can be as tragic as the outcomes in the game. However, it’s heartening too! We get to see these people fight back. They take their destinies into their own hands. They don’t just accept the outcome of a possible death game, and they move forward. Not to mention, it’s nice to have something tangible to the series by. It’s well worth following along and finishing this saga.

Square Enix has revealed that it is putting up numerous SINoALICE goods for sale on its Japanese e-Store website. The items range from merchandise that had its original orders canceled to new items inspired by the fan-made movie SINoALICE: The Very Last Story.

The merchandise lineup from The Very Last Story includes a postcard featuring Alice, which is immediately available for purchase at 330 yen apiece with additional shipping costs. Square Enix also opened pre-orders for a random tin badge featuring one of the eight characters who appeared in the movie. A badge will cost 440 yen, and the company will release the items on February 8, 2025.

Besides the fan-made movie, Square Enix also puts up listings for prior SINoALICE items that had their original orders canceled. The lineup includes items from the Marui Pop Up Shop that opened temporarily in March 2024.

SINoALICE was available worldwide on iOS and Android mobile devices with multiple language servers. Square Enix gradually closed the servers starting with the Chinese-language server in November 2022, the global English release in November 2023, and the Japanese version in January 2024. Square Enix announced that the SINoALICE: The Very Final Story fan movie is now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video and U-Next. In addition, the Blu-Ray is available for pre-order until April 30, 2024, and it will release on June 6. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

Renting or purchasing a digital copy of the movie on Amazon Prime Video costs 400 yen (or about $2.64) and 2,000 yen (~$13.20) respectively. Those renting will have a total of 30 days to start the movie and 48 hours to finish after starting.

Meanwhile, the Blu-Ray costs 6,900 yen (~$45.50), and it includes five special stickers as a bonus, as well as a round table discussion about the end of service for the game and other additional video and audio commentary extras. People outside of Japan can purchase the Blu-Ray via the WorldShopping proxy service.

SINoALICE was a mobile game created and directed by Yoko Taro and released on June 2017 in Japan, and July 2020 worldwide. The Japanese servers of the game closed down in January 15, 2024, after the global servers closed on November 15, 2023.

The SINoALICE: The Very Final Story movie is now available to stream via Amazon Prime Video and U-Next. Pre-orders for the Blu-Ray are now open, and it will be released on June 6, 2024.

The official Square Enix store announced that there will be a change to the schedule for its SINoALICE pop-up merchandise store. It will run from March 1 to March 20, 2024, instead of until March 17, 2024.

This pop-up shop, which is a collaboration between Square Enix and Marui, opened due to SINoALICE ending service. A fan movie also came out in late February 2024 as a way to send off the series.

As for the SINoALICE merchandise, these are the items and prices for everything you can get:

SINoALICE ended in mid-January 2024, with the DMM and browser versions, as well as the global server, ending earlier in 2023. The game had been active for about six years at the time of its end. The game featured literary characters like Alice and Snow White but with a darker, Yoko Taro twist. These characters gathered inochi in order to revive their authors so that they can have them rewrite their stories.

A fan movie for SINoALICE, The Very Final Story, will air in theaters on February 23, 2024. There will also be a pop-up store at the Marui Annex in Shinjuku for a limited time. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

The fan movie will seemingly not follow the game's existing story or plotline. It will apparently be an “original episode,” though there’s little information beyond that. Though Square Enix refers to it as a fan movie, the main staff and cast that worked on the game will return for it.

The plot will follow Alice, who is an average SINoALICE player. However, she finds herself embroiled in various troubles due to this and despairs at the world. After she leaps from a rooftop, she wakes to find herself in the SINOALICE world. Parrah and Noya bully her more, but the SINoALICE characters arrive to help her.

SINoALICE was a mobile game that Yoko Taro of Drakengard and NieR fame created. The game featured girls based on fairy tales, such as Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. It shut down on January 15, 2024, after around six years of service.

The SINoALICE movie will come out on February 23, 2024 in Japan.

After around six years of service, SINoALICE will end on January 15, 2024. The DMM and browser version, as well as the global version, servers will shut down in 2023 before the iOS and Android ones.

The DMM and browser version of the game will end service on December 26, 2023. Meanwhile, the global version will end on November 15, 2023. Pokelabo and Square Enix will release updates for the ending of the game from December 26, 2023, and sales of currency will end on October 26, 2023. In the announcement for the ending of the game, Square Enix thanks players for all of its over the years.

Previously, when the Taiwan, Macau, and Hong Kong servers of SINoALICE ended, Yoko Taro wrote a special ending for those players. Once you cleared the ending, you could not log back into the game again. It does not look like the Japanese version of the game will do so. However, more details on the ending patches may come out closer to the shut down period.

SINoALICE first came out on June 6, 2017, with Yoko Taro of NieR and Drakengard fame as its creative director. In it, famous literary characters such as Alice and Snow White have to gather inochi in order to revive their authors so that their authors can rewrite their stories in various ways. Like most Yoko Taro games, the characters are generally cruel or crazy.

SINoALICE is available on mobile devices, and it will end on January 15, 2024.

Square Enix and Pokelabo announced the end of service for the SINoALICE global version. It will be shut down on November 15, 2023. Service will continue for the Japanese version of the game. SINoALICE initially released in Japan in 2017 on Android and iOS devices, then eventually came out worldwide on July 1, 2020.

This is the second such announcement. Square Enix decided to end SINoALICE service in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau on November 10, 2022, and it featured a special ending for the main story created by director Yoko Taro. Once players would reach the ending, the game would permanently lock players out of the game. There is no word if a special ending will be created for the end of service for the global version of the mobile game.

Players with unused Paid Twilight Crystals on iOS and Android will be able to request refunds. Paid Twilight Crystals will not be refunded if they have already been used. Likewise, there will be no refund for items that have been purchased using the Paid Twilight Crystals. Players will need to make the request for a refund through the SINoALICE app, and it is not recommended that players delete the app until the refund has been processed.

Below is the schedule for SINoALICE Global's end of service:

• September 1, 2023 @ 8:00 (UTC): Purchase of in-app currency Twilight Crystals for iOS and Android discontinued
• November 15, 2023 @ 5:00 (UTC): Acceptance of refund requests for remaining balance of unused Paid Twilight Crystals for iOS and Android begins
• November 15, 2023 @ 5:00 (UTC): End of Service / App no longer distributed on App Store and Google Play
• November 15, 2023 @ 5:00 (UTC): Use of in-app currency Twilight Crystals for iOS and Android discontinued

Another Yoko Taro narrative will converge with NieR Reincarnation on November 10, 2022. A SINoALICE crossover will appear in NieR Reincarnation. This will bring SINoALICE-inspired variants into the game, as shown in the short teaser trailer for the event. More information will be released in the future, which will include the specifics of what players can obtain and if there will be a unique story to accompany the crossover. The SINoALICE and NieR Reincarnation crossover event will appear on November 10, 2022.

This isn't the first time other Yoko Taro-associated works have appeared in NieR Reincarnation. A Drakengard 3 crossover appeared in both the Japanese and Global clients of the mobile game. Naturally, a NieR Automata crossover made its way into it. The event originally appeared for the Global release of the game, but was given a re-run some months later.

NieR Reincarnation is an entirely new story set within the world of NieR. Players experience various weapon stories as they traverse The Cage. More than a handful of characters are available to obtain, each with their individual narrative that span across space and time.

NieR Reincarnation is available for Android and iOS devices. The SINoALICE crossover event will arrive on November 10, 2022.

The Taiwan, Macau, and Hong Kong servers of SINoALICE will end service, but not without a final bang. Yoko Taro will create an ending for the main SINoALICE story especially for players on these servers, and it will come out on October 27, 2022. There are a few requirements you have to complete before you can get to the ending, though. Reaching this ending will permanently lock you out of the game, so people should proceed only when they have finished everything they want to do.

In order to reach the ending of the SINoALICE story, you have to:

1. Clear Fusion Arc to unlock Elimination Arc
2. Finish Alice’s Chapter 5 in the Elimination Arc

Once you do so, you will no longer be able to return to the main story. There will be a total of ten Verses for the finale chapter. Verses 1 through 9 will be available on October 27, 2022. Verse 10 will come out on November 3, 2022. You must clear Verse 10 solo, and you will only be able to use Alice. Once you complete Verse 10, the game will kick you out.

After you watch the ending clip after clearing the final arc, the game will forcibly log you out and then you can never again. The "SINoALICE English" Twitter has also stated “NieR fans will understand.” This is likely a reference to certain endings of NieR and NieR Automata, that involve erasing a player's save data once reached.

SINoALICE is available on mobile devices worldwide, with the global and Japan servers still safe. The Taiwan, Macau, and Hong Kong server of SINoALICE will shut down on November 10, 2022. The other servers may have different endings when they eventually end service.

The latest Weekly Famitsu issue included special coverage about the Japanese fifth anniversary of SINoALICE. It included a new interview with SINoALICE director Yoko Taro. The title creator claimed that this mobile game would not end in a regular way. [Thanks, Ryokutya!]

Yoko Taro created SINoALICE, a mobile RPG that launched first in Japan on June 6, 2017. The global release came out roughly three years later, in July 2020. Square Enix celebrates the game's fifth anniversary in June 2022. SINoALICE has received a lot of crossover content from not only Yoko Taro's famed NieR series but also other anime franchises, such as Rozen Maiden, Code Geass, and Kakegurui XX.

Famitsu also had a SINoALICE coverage for the game's fourth anniversary in June 2021. At that time, Yoko Taro talked about the additional story featuring Devola and Popola from NieR Replicant.

Square Enix announced that SINoALICE will see a NieR Reincarnation crossover event appear on May 23, 2022. However, characters from throughout the NieR series will appear as part of the crossover. This includes characters that were available to obtain through the NieR Replicant and NieR: Automata crossover events. They will reappear at the same time NieR Reincarnation characters will appear in SINoALICE as part of the crossover.

The characters from NieR Reincarnation that will be available to obtain are 2P (Paladin) and Fio & Mama (Crusher). Square Enix has shared artwork of how the two characters will appear in SINoALICE. 2P is seen wielding some kind of spear, whereas Fio is ed by Mama and has a floating ball and chain behind her. This is similar to the weapons these characters can wield in NieR Reincarnation.

Other characters from previous NieR series crossovers players can obtain during the event period include Brother NieR (Paladin) and 2B (Breaker). Players who initially missed the NieR Replicant and NieR: Automata crossover event stories will have the opportunity to experience them.

Square Enix announced that a Kakegurui XX crossover event will appear in SINoALICE. The event will begin on April 12, 2022, with specifics to be announced during a scheduled SINoALICE broadcast on April 8, 2022. An official collaboration page is open, revealing some of the characters that will appear throughout the event. There is also a Kakegurui XX and SINoALICE collaboration trailer. That said, the crossover has only been announced for the Japanese version of the game. It may appear in the global version at a later date. [Thanks, Gamer!]

During the event, players will have the opportunity to obtain Yumeko Jabami as a Breaker. Other characters that will appear include Mary Satome, Midari Ikishima, Kirari Momobami, and Sayaka Igurashi. The crossover will feature an original story, though it will be relatively short. This is similar to how other SINoALICE collaborations.

SINoALICE will feature a Sanrio collaboration, which will see several of its main characters receive inspired designs. Square Enix revealed the collaboration through its official YouTube . The video featured a short look at several of the character designs that will appear as part of the SINoALICE and Sanrio collaboration. Additionally, players will have the opportunity to receive a Hello Kitty Nightmare. The collaboration will begin on February 8 and last until February 22, 2022. Players will also receive up to 800 Twilight Crystals currency during the collaboration period as part of a bonus. Players can obtain more Twilight Crystals and various enhancement materials through collaboration quest completion. Additionally, two types of limited time summon banners will be available. Both feature a 5-step summon. Characters that will receive Sanrio inspired designs include Alice, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and Hamelin.

SINoALICE has seen several collaborations appear in the mobile title. This has included a NieR: Automata collaboration, and a Code Geass collaboration. During these periods, players could obtain unique collaboration units.

SINoALICE is available for Android and iOS devices. The Sanrio collaboration will be available in the Japanese version of the game until February 22, 2022.

Square Enix has revealed that a Code Geass collaboration event will appear in the Global version of SINoALICE. However, it did not provide an exact date for the event. Additionally, the complete list of characters that will appear through the event is still unknown. This information was revealed through the official SINoALICE Twitter .

The Japanese client of SINoALICE has already seen the Code Geass collaboration . A total of six characters were available to obtain through the event. This included Zero, Lelouch, Suzaku, C.C., Euphemia, and Kallen. It is currently unclear if all six characters will appear during the Global version of the event, or if it will have two parts.

SINoALICE has had collaborations with other series in the past. This list includes the likes of Rozen Maiden, Space Invaders, and Re:Zero. The title has also featured a handful of NieR related collaborations which as added the likes of Kaine and 2B into the mobile title.

In June 2021, an announcement revealed that the NieR Replicant collaboration event would return and feature an all new story. This story would be about Devola and Popola. Additionally, the pair will appear as a new job.

Another Square Enix game’s manga adaptation is going to appear outside Japan. The company announced an English localization of the SINoALICE manga. The first volume is available to pre-order for $12.99. It will launch digitally and physically on February 8, 2022.

The manga adaptation offers another take and insight into the mobile game’s world. It follows Alice, one of the original characters available in SINoALICE when the game launched. While she seems to be a normal girl with a normal life, Parrah and Noya keep visiting her in her dreams, asking what she wants. She also finds herself fighting various people from fairy tales and stories trying to resurrect their authors. People follow her as she tries to figure out what’s going on while she deals with people like Cinderella.

Here’s a preliminary look at the cover. It features Alice in her "real world" attire.

Square Enix hasn’t announced expected dates for the rest of the SINoALICE English manga release. However, there are three volumes so far in Japan. (It began running there in 2019, about two years after the game debuted in 2017.) The authors for it are Yoko Taro, the game’s creator, and Takuto Aoki, while Himiko and Jino provide the manga’s art.

SINoALICE is available for Android and Apple iOS devices. The first volume of the official English translation of the SINoALICE manga will appear on February 8, 2022.
