The Nintendo Switch 2 is almost upon us. With the recent Direct, we now know almost everything about the console. This even includes its launch lineup and beyond. So many games and new entries in beloved series are on the way. As such, the Siliconera staff has come together with our picks for the most anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 game.

Siliconera Speaks Up: Most Anticipated Switch 2 Game 6l7122

I've always thought of Mario Kart as a fun party style game, but never gave it much thought outside of that. But with Mario Kart World going the open route, I'm very curious to see how Nintendo approaches this new style of racing. -- Daniel

If I may be cheeky, the return of Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness were by far the most exciting announcements for me. It's not just because they are two of the best games that launched on GameCube but also because it suggests that something similar could happen again. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet featured double battles as the main mechanic in the Indigo Disc DLC and I hope these games' popularity will inspire more doubles and battle focused Pokémon games in the future. -- George

Honestly, I felt a little underwhelmed by what they showed at the Direct. As much as Mario Kart World looks like it'll tap into whatever part of my brain decided Forza Horizon 5 was my GOTY for 2021, the price announcements dulled that excitement significantly. Nothing else in the Direct felt essential enough for me to dip into the new system just yet either. So my answer remains the same as it does for the original Switch: Metroid Prime 4. The Metroid series is still one of my favorite Nintendo franchises, and the Prime games are always superb. And now there's telekinesis? Heck yeah. -- Leigh

Right now, it is Pokemon Legends Z-A for me. While we don’t know exactly what the dedicated Switch 2 Edition will entail, I look forward to playing it on the new console. I love the idea of a Pokemon game taking place entirely within one massive city and I hope the Switch 2 is able to make it run at preferably 60FPS while lookin much sharper and cleaner in 4K. It seems likely, given the June 5 launch date for the Switch 2, that this version will be out in time for the game’s release, but for now, we will have to wait and see. -- Cody

The Nintendo Switch 2 will release on June 5, 2025.

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is finally available for Nintendo Switch and not exclusive to just the Wii U. With this release, there are only a few meaningful Wii U titles left on the system that are not available on modern platforms. The Siliconera staff has come together to give our thoughts on the Wii U games we want to see as a remaster or remake on Nintendo Switch next.

Siliconera Speaks Up: Wii U Remaster We Want Next 4q3w6z

It's been nearly a decade since we've sat in the cockpit of an Arwing. If a new installment isn't in the works, I'd at least like to see Star Fox Zero remastered for the Switch 2. With some upgraded visuals and a few tweaks to the controls, there's enough there to satiate the ever-growing hunger of Star Fox fans…for the time being, at least. -- Thomas

When it comes to kart racers Mario Kart will always be considered the king, but Mario Kart 8 isn't my favorite Wii U character racer. I'm a Sega kid at heart, and in the long running battle between the two titans, I think that Sonic has won the battle on the race track. If Diddy Kong Racing could live in harmony with Mario Kart 64, I believe that Switch players should be able to experience the joy that Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed brings. Switching from cars to planes to boats seamlessly, it remains my favorite rocket road racer. -- George

With the release of Xenoblade Chronicles X, that is almost every single game on the Wii U that I have been looking forward to. That is, of course, except for the remastered Zelda titles. Twilight Princess, in particular, is a game that I need to see on either the original Switch or Switch 2. Twilight Princess is shamefully one of the only Zelda games I have never played, which is ironic since its style is one of the most appealing to me, personally. I would love to see Twilight Princess make a return on the Switch 2 so I can finally see how it ranks against the other amazing titles in the series. -- Cody

Fastest Way to Level Up in Atelier Yumia

The recent release of Atelier Yumia is here. This brings with it the start of a new sub-series in the Gust series. Looking back at all games, what is the best Atelier game? This is a question our Siliconera staff wants to find out. Look below for our picks for the best Atelier game in the series. Some of the results may surprise you!

Siliconera Speaks Up: Our Favorite Atelier Games 4q711i

I miss the Atelier Iris trilogy. I think it would be fantastic to see a remaster collection that brought all three games back for the Switch, PS5, and PC. I mean, we've seen NIS bring back its PS2 classics. It feels like it's time to revisit those JRPGs. -- Jenni

The Atelier Iris trilogy was fantastic. However, if I had to pinpoint my favourite entry from the series, it would be Atelier Iris 2. Not only did it have the most engaging plot, but the dynamic between the characters was surprisingly heartfelt. Hopefully, the trilogy will return in some fashion to modern consoles. -- Yasmine

Call me nostalgic, but I am still a sucker for the very first Atelier game I ever played: Atelier Rorona. Rorona has the right mix of simplicity in its 3D visuals and combat while still having enough depth in the synthesis mechanics. I also appreciate the daily system with requirements for completing objectives before time runs out. This gives the game an almost Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons vibe to it, which is quite different from the more open-world, action-packed adventures of more recent Atelier games. That said, the recent Atelier Yumia is a close second for me. It broadens the series in such smart ways with a fun open-world to explore and a surprisingly solid story. Strangely enough, Atelier Yumia is pretty much what I wanted Tales of Arise to be, though not necessarily what I wanted the Atelier series to be. That said, it is an incredible game if you look at it without the lens of the rest of the franchise. -- Cody

Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land is available for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Two MySims Games Head to Switch in MySims: Cozy Bundle

EA is showing it is not giving up on its history just yet. The Sims series is making a massive resurgence these days. The older games like MySims and the first two titles are now back. The ability to play these classics on modern platforms is a wonderful blessing. But now it is time to look ahead to the future. These are the Sims games and remasters we want to see next.

Siliconera Speaks Up: Next Sims Game Remaster 323p3d

With the recent return of the first two Sims games on PC again and the MySims titles coming back, it is now time to look ahead to what EA has next for the series. For me, personally, I’d love to see a return of The Urbz: Sims in the City to consoles and PC with a remaster. This ridiculously 2000s take on the series is filled to the brim with style and gameplay that is different from other titles, focusing on building a reputation in each district. I loved the more progression-focused aspect of this particular spin-off game and it certainly deserves a second chance on modern platforms. If the MySims games from the Nintendo DS and Wii deserve a second chance, this title certainly does. That said, though, I am always down for the grand return of an older SimCity game, as that was my personal introduction to the franchise as a kid. -- Cody

I'm glad I'm not the only one who re The Urbz, I loved that game as a kid. The focus on all the different subcultures and styles was really fun, and I just find the city living theme more enticing than the usual suburban fantasy The Sims focuses on. That, and the music was great. Might be a pain to get licensing, though. -- Elliot

Mukumuku and the player in Suikoden 2

With the recent release of the Suikoden I & II HD Remaster collection, it is now time to look ahead. Konami has an incredible catalogue of games and series. Unfortunately, not all of them are seeing the limelight as they deserve at this time. The Siliconera staff has come together to give our thoughts on the next Konami games that deserve a remake or remaster.

Image via Konami

Siliconera Speaks Up: Next Konami Remake or Remaster 2e5zd

Honestly, I'm just happy to see Suikoden 1 and 2 getting remakes. Otherwise you'd have either emulate or drop a few hundred on a dodgy ebay listing. Though, if they do well I'd love to see remasters of Suikoden 3 or maybe Tactics, or even just something new for the series. -- Elliot

I hope Suikoden I & II remakes will pave the way for a Suikoden V remake, as it’s a criminally underrated JRPG that deserves way more attention. I would even go as far as to say that Suikoden V is my favourite entry from the franchise. If I can be greedy and request another, I want to see Yu-Gi-Oh! True Duel Monsters: Sealed Memories get the remaster treatment. The title was created when the original card game had no established rules. As you can imagine, the game went in a very bonkers direction with some bizarre story plots. The game will probably never receive a remaster, especially as it’s been left out of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection, but it feels like an important (although unspoken) part of the franchise’s history, like the dramatic crossroads meme. Now, thinking about it, Yu-Gi-Oh has a weird lore, right? -- Yasmine

It is time for Dance Dance Revolution to come back in the West. It would work so well with the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons (similar to Just Dance), but with music that is more appealing to me. Plus, it’d be a great way for me to lose a little bit of weight. Besides DDR, I’d love to see a Yu-Gi-Oh Early Days Collection 2 with a heavy focus on the DS titles. My favorite Yu-Gi-Oh games, still to this day, are the trio of World Championship games from 2009-2011 since they largely focused on my favorite series — 5D’s — and had excellent singleplayer story modes. -- Cody

Visual novels are getting a real treat with the remasters of Ever 17 and Never 7. These beloved games from developer KID and legendary writer Kotaro Uchikoshi are both must-plays, especially in the case of the former. With these now almost here, and possibly so by the time you read this, it is time to look ahead. What visual novel deserves a remaster or remake next?

Well. We already got Fate/stay Night and Tsukihime. I'm going to go with a deep otome cut. Let's see Idea Factory and Otomate bring back Sweet Fuse! It's too good to be trapped on the PSP! -- Jenni

Give me 12Riven! I have wanted to play this game for so long but never have been able to. It’s time for an official English translation of it. Besides that, 11 feels like a lock in the future. It is one of my favorite visual novels of all time and it is quite spooky, too, at times. There are some surprisingly scary moments at that game and it certainly deserves more attention than it got at the time. While Ever 17 is certainly the more flawlessly written experience, I actually prefer 11 for its atmosphere and characters. The directions this one goes in are incredible and deserve a wider audience’s attention.

Finally, I’d like to give a special shoutout to Time Travelers. This Level-5 cinematic visual novel is remarkable, but it only ever released in Japan on Nintendo 3DS for some odd reason. This feels like an easy win to remaster for modern platforms with an official localization, so hopefully it happens at some point. Thankfully, there is an unofficial English translation for now. -- Cody

-- Cody

Ever 17 and Never 7 release for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC on March 6, 2025.

Capcom Asks for Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta in Survey

With the release of Monster Hunter Wilds, it is now time to take a look at the entire beloved and highly successful Capcom series as a whole. The crux of this franchise is hunting down various beasts. But what is the best monster in the entire Monster Hunter series to date? The Siliconera staff has come together to give our thoughts on our favorite enemies from across all titles.

Siliconera Speaks Up: Our Favorite Monster Hunter Enemies c4t33

I like the funny little round fellas like the Gobul from 3 and the Nibelsnarf from 3p. They're both threatening, but also kind of adorable and have silly names. I'm also a big fan of the Seltas Queen and hope she gets to have a comeback in the series sometime, as both the monster and armor design for it were great. -- Elliot

I think Paolumu is absolutely adorable. Definitely a top-tier, super cute character. Totally one of my favorites, both to fight and befriend in Monster Hunter Stories. However, I also like Khezu a whole bunch since it is so, so silly. -- Jenni

The Nargacuga will always be my personal favorite. It has a fantastic design that is reminiscent of a dark wyvern mixed with an almost bat-style design. It is fast and incredibly memorable. I am also extra partial to it since it was one of my trusty partners in the wonderful but criminally underplayed Monster Hunter Stories 2.

Speaking of Monster Hunter Stories 2, I appreciate how that particular title flipped the script on the whole monster-hunting situation. Being able to collect, hatch, and fight alongside the monsters we previously hunted brought more nuance and depth to them. It also allowed me to care more about the monsters, rather than just see them as a foe standing in my way. As such, I’m still holding out hope for a Monster Hunter Stories 3 in the near future so I can fight alongside my bestie Nargacuga again. -- Cody

Monster Hunter Wilds releases for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on February 28, 2025.

Trails of Cold Steel 3 and 4 PS5 Release Dates Set

With the release of The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak 2, it is now time to reflect on this incredibly underappreciated JRPG series. It is up there as my favorite video game franchise of all time, and for a good reason. There is no world or lore quite as extensive and well done as this one. But what is the best The Legend of Heroes and Trails game of all time?

Image via NIS America

Siliconera Speaks Up: Best Trails Game 5w5w6

This may be controversial, but my favorite and personal pick for the overall best The Legend of Heroes game is Trails of Cold Steel III. To me, this is where the series found the perfect balance of story, characters, lore, world, gameplay, and exploration. It is so rich with a massive adventure full of some of the most meaningful side quests. You get to know every member of the small town of Thors Branch Academy, plus the main cast is arguably better than the previous two titles. Then there is the story, which is the strongest for me due to character arcs for Ash, Juna, and others. This is hands down one of my favorite games of all time.

That said, the original Trails in the Sky, Trails from Zero, and the first Trails of Cold Steel are close runner-ups for me in that particular order. Trails in the Sky was my first in the series and it still remains one of the greatest fantasy RPGs ever made. I can’t wait for the remake, which will hopefully recapture the feel of exploring Liberl. Then there is the first Crossbell title, which introduced us to what I consider to be the best city ever made in a video game. Of course, I adore Cold Steel as well for introducing the Persona-like high school concept, which paved the way for my favorite title in the series. -- Cody

The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak 2 is now available for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC.

Best strategy game RPG Triangle Strategy

The strategy genre is one of the most intriguing in gaming. It is so varied, from traditional RTS games to turn-based strategies to even full-on grid-based strategy RPGs. With the release of Civilization VII, the Siliconera staff has come together to give our picks for the best overall strategy games and RPGs of all time. These are the titles you should check out next for your tactical fix.

Siliconera Speaks Up: Best Strategy Game or SRPG 6y5r42

The Total War series has had me hooked since I bought Medieval 2 in a Steam Sale over a decade and a half ago. Perhaps the biggest draw for me is the formation-style battle mechanics that few other games have really attempted, it feels a lot more strategic than the more reflex-based RTS games I was used to. -- Elliot

When it comes to traditional strategy games, my personal favorite is Star Wars: Empire at War. I am not the biggest strategy game fan, though the Civ games have grasped me recently, so I loved the idea of commanding a massive army of troops from one of my favorite entertainment franchises of all time. It works really well, too, with land and space battles alike feeling thoughtful and deep.

In of strategy RPGs, though, I adored Triangle Strategy. Like 4X games, grid-based combat is not usually my cup of tea, but Triangle Strategy made it fast and fun. In addition, it had the right RPG hooks to draw me in. You could romance different characters, get to know the party, and make some solid choices that truly felt like they made a difference for the story and general outcome of the plot. Here’s hoping for a sequel soon. -- Cody

Civilization VII releases for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on February 11, 2025. It is currently available in Early Access.

How to to Play the Nintendo Switch 2 Early Nintendo Switch 2 Experience

The Nintendo Switch 2 is a direct follow-up to the Switch: bigger, better, and certainly more powerful. While some details are scarce for now, there are some Nintendo Switch 2 features and games the console needs. Here is what our staff has to say about the Switch 2 features we need at launch and beyond.

Image via Nintendo

Siliconera Speaks Up: Nintendo Switch 2 Features and Games We Want 3k6y3d

I'm pretty sure the Switch 2 is going to be as big as the Switch is (maybe even bigger), which means it won't exactly be the pocket-sized handheld console that the 3DS or the PSP were. However, I'd still love if it had a Street or Spot-like function. It was always such a delight going outside, and then looking at all the people I ed during a break. There was a simple sense of community in knowing that there were so many other people in the city who share the same hobby, or maybe even played the same game I did. -- Stephanie

I want a new Fire Emblem game on the Switch 2. More specifically, a new old entry in the series. There have been entirely too many Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War teases over the years, and it is time for a modern rerelease or remake of it! -- Jenni

For me, other than the crucial features like backwards compatibility with Switch, I NEED a huge expansion for Nintendo Switch Online. Where are my classic Pokemon games? Let me play Pokemon Emerald again on the Switch 2! Also, I think it is finally time for the triumphant return of menu themes in true fashion. Give me all the themes for every major Nintendo series and even some third-party ones. For example, I’d love to be able to have a blue classic Final Fantasy menu on my Switch 2. -- Cody

The Nintendo Switch 2 releases sometime in 2025. A Nintendo Switch 2 Direct will happen on April 2, 2025.

Looking ahead, 2025 appears to be a fantastic year for JRPGs. We already know about some great titles like Atelier Yumia. Plus, there are likely a few JRPGs we still don’t know about yet. Regardless, our staff put together our list of the JRPG titles that are our most anticipated for the year of 2025.

Siliconera Speaks Up: Most Anticipated JRPG of 2025 5i245b

Honestly? I'm excited to go through Suikoden I and II again. I loved the games, and playing Eiyuden Chronicle last year made me long for a chance to go through these two incredibly solid entries in the series again. I mean, I could just grab my PSX discs and pop them in, but playing on my Switch in handheld mode would be even more ideal. -- Jenni

Even with highly anticipated JRPGs already announced like Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake, my most anticipated JRPG as of right now is The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak II. Sure, I can’t wait for Trails in the Sky the 1st, which will remake one of my favorite JRPGs of all time, but I have already played that game. I will always want to try something new and Trails through Daybreak II is just that.

I loved Van and the other of his ragtag team in the first of the Calvard titles, plus the locations of the Republic were terrific to explore. However, the original felt just a tad too short and with a story that felt second to everything else, unlike past Trails games. I hope this sequel will fully live up to the potential of this story arc. Of course, this is with the current info we have right now, so I’m excluding unannounced JRPGs I hope we see in 2025 like a new NieR or Persona 6. -- Cody

My most anticipated JRPG for 2025 is also The Legend of Heroes, though I'm more interested in Trails in the Sky the 1st. Yes, I'm one of those people who played the original one back in the day and then dropped it because the battle system was a bit too slow for my taste. So I never actually got into the game, nor the series. It'll be nice to get into it for real (especially since I actually own a bunch of Trails games that I bought on sale, yet never even started them) and Trails in the Sky the 1st seems like the ultimate starting point. -- Stephanie

Siliconera Speaks UP: Tales of JRPG Remaster We Want Next 6h4p6r

Tales of the Abyss is my usual answer for this question just because it's one of the best Tales games story-wise and it's a shame that it's not available on any modern platforms. However, I actually want to see some of the older 2D games remastered, like Rebirth or Destiny/Destiny 2. Those games never officially made it out of Japan, but I'm assuming if Bamco today remasters them, they'll make it available for the Western audience as well. While translation mods for them do exist, it would still be nice if people would be able to get the official versions of them if they so wished. -- Stephanie

Like Stephanie, I want to see Tales of Destiny again! I loved that game, and it was my entry into the series. Imagine if, somehow, It's near impossible for more modern audiences to play it, and the art direction means it should still hold up well! And since there is that PS2 Director's Cut with content never seen outside Japan, it'd feel fresh for anyone who picked it up! -- Jenni

I will never stop asking for a Tales of Xillia 1 and 2 remaster. I got a PS3 quite late into its life cycle used and it tragically broke soon after I purchased the original Tales of Xillia. As such, I never got to play these two games I looked so forward to. The dual protagonist system and storylines seem to indicate these two titles could be some of my favorites in the Tales of series right up there with Tales of Berseria, but I still don’t know to this day. I’m hoping we get a Tales of Xillia 1 and 2 dual remaster package after Graces f so I can finally see what they’re all about. -- Cody

Tales of Graces f Remastered is available right now for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

-- Cody

Tales of Graces f Remastered is available right now for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

gnosia anime

Anime is going to have a massive 2025 year. The four seasons of anime ahead look to be some of the most exciting in a long time. There are brand new series like Sakamoto Days, alongside returning ones like Dragon Ball Daima. It is also the year for the end of many of the most popular anime series. But what is the most anticipated anime of 2025? Here is what the Siliconera staff has to say about that.

Mine right now is Gnosia. Yes, part of it is because Gnosia is my current obsession, but I'm also really curious as to how the anime will adapt its unique story structure. It'll obviously have to keep the time loop thing, but how will it also have the different story events and Werewolf segment? Until we know more information about how many episodes it'll have, it's so hard to picture that I can't wait until it actually starts airing. I'm also super excited for the Twisted Wonderland anime, too! -- Stephanie

The most anticipated anime for me in 2025 has to be My Happy Marriage Season 2. The first season wowed me with its beautiful blend of romance series like Fruits Basket and Violet Evergarden. It tragically reminds me so much of a Kyoto Animation series and the wonderful people that were lost far too soon in 2019. If you want a stunning series with the best couple in anime in 2025, be sure to watch this one.

Special shoutouts also go to the final seasons of My Hero Academia and Dr. Stone, both of which should be spectacular. My Hero Academia’s most recent season is arguably its best and it should continue this trend into its final season. The same goes for Dr. Stone. In fact, I am fully expecting to put both of these series in the overall top 25 anime of all time when all is said and done for both of them. -- Cody

Monster Hunter Wilds TGS 2024 physical demo will return in Okazaki Aichi Japan

As we enter a brand new year, it is time to look ahead. 2025 has so many amazing games coming out. From new JRPGs to remakes of classic titles, there is so much ahead. The Siliconera staff came together to reveal the most anticipated game of 2025 for each of us. Here are the games we think you should be looking forward to this year.

Most anticipated game of 2025 The Legend of Heroes Trails through Daybreak 2

Siliconera Speaks Up: Most Anticipated Game of 2025 473b68

It's Monster Hunter Wilds. I need to play more of this game. The environments are amazing, with huge biomes that basically get a two-in-one effect when the seasons change. The monsters are great. The FASHION! I need it. I had the most fun with it when I played an early build. It feels so fantastic and rich already. I can't wait to play more. -- Jenni

My most anticipated would also be Monster Hunter Wilds, but that game needs no introduction. Instead, I'm starting to get a little interested in Avowed. A slick and updated Skyrim-like experience with some interesting weapons sounds like a good time, even if I wasn't paying too much attention to it before now. I'm also certainly going to pick up Civilization VII, though to be honest I'm yet to get too enthused about what I've seen. The art style, the mechanics… none of it has grabbed me, but I'd love to be surprised. -- Elliot

My most anticipated is Penny Blood! To this day, I'm hoping to see a remake or remaster of the Shadow Hearts series and I was so excited when I saw the news of the combined Kickstarter with Armed Fantasia. Considering the studio's recent troubles, as well as the lack of any meaningful updates in the Kickstarter e-mails, I'm not sure if we'll get it in 2025 anymore though… -- Stephanie

I've been eagerly waiting for the full release of Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist since earlier in 2024. Luckily, I won't have to wait long since the game is coming out very early into the year! I can't wait to jump into the world that Ender Lilies started and see what has changed in between the first game and the second one. -- Daniel

With the information we have right now, 2025 looks to have some solid titles, but my pick for my most anticipated game is The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak II. The Legend of Heroes series is up there for one of my favorite video game franchises. Trails through Daybreak was great, but just short of the level of other firsts in the series. I still think Trails in the Sky, Trails of Cold Steel, and Trails from Zero were all a bit better. But the potential is absolutely there with a solid cast, the gorgeous Calvard Republic, and a pretty fun morally gray storyline. I’m hoping Trails through Daybreak II fulfills the potential of the first title with a longer JRPG that has even more of the memorable side quests similar to the original. -- Cody

The past year saw the release of so many excellent titles across all genres. But there are, sadly, some games that didn’t see the success or popularity they otherwise deserved. The Siliconera staff has come up with our picks for the most underrated game of 2024 that you should pick up and play, especially over the holiday season.

Arco is absolutely amazing. It's such a fascinating strategy game with unique combat system and gameplay. Plus the places it takes us, people we meet, and stories it tells feel unique. I loved seeing how it all came together in the end. Plus, it looks so different, but so gorgeous. -- Jenni

It's not the most revolutionary game in the world, but I'd still like to go to bat for Sand Land. It had that charming Toriyama style, fun vehicle customization and was just a cozy, fun time all the way through. Plus, I like that the stealth-takedown animation is just the prince making a scary face at some soldiers so they faint. -- Elliot

I found Isles of Sea and Sky truly wonderful, and I need more people to give it a try. It is a sokoban style puzzle game with open-ended world exploration and a progression system that borrows from Zelda and Metroidvanias. I usually struggle to fully get through most puzzle games, even if I like them a lot, but with Isles of Sea and Sky I could not get enough of it. It helps a lot that the pixel art graphics have a cozy SNES or Game Boy Color vibe and the music is a delight. Seriously, give it a try! -- Daniel

There are quite a lot of picks this year for the most underrated game of 2024. My overall pick has to be Emio - The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club. This is a stunning visual novel that isn’t too difficult, with a solid mystery. Its ending is a bit weird, but if you stick with it, it balloons into a masterpiece conclusion everyone should check out. The other pick I have to point out is Ova Magica. It has some early access quirks about it, but this game beautifully blends farming sims and Pokemon together in a neat, colorful way. I just wish there was more content. -- Cody
