Silent Hill 4: The Room is available to play on a PC again, and now it is available in an ultimate form via the GOG Preservation Program. The game first appeared in 2004, and when it launched it showed up on the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC. The GOG v1 version debuted in October 2020.

In Silent Hill 4: The Room, we follow a man named Henry Townshend who wakes up to find he’s trapped in his apartment and unable to leave it in the way you might expect. Instead, otherworldly exits to other locations and gradual item reveals that get into the lore of the place and ties to the Silent Hill we from past games. 

This version is notable in that a number of quality of life adjustments and fixes are present. Most notable is that all of the missing hauntings that would show up in the latter half of the game are back. It also s modern controllers. It is designed to greater resemble brightness and gamma from the PS2 release too. Past additions included cloud saves and 30fps cutscenes.

GOG and Konami also shared an intro trailer to set the stage for the adventure.

GOG Preservation Program is a new initiative for the company. It kicked off with games like Dino Crisis 1 and 2. There is also a Dreamlist we can participate in to suggest future games, and Breath of Fire IV is one of the in-demand titles there. More titles will gradually the collection over time.

Silent Hill 4: The Room originally appeared on the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and Windows PC, and it is now a part of the GOG Preservation Program.

On August 18, 2021, Mondo will release vinyl pressings of the soundtracks for Silent Hill 3 and Silent Hill 4. You will be able to purchase them from the Mondo Shop from 12PM CST. The records will feature art by Ashley Swidowski, a lead character concept artist at Naughty Dog, and Nephelomancer. The vinyl pressing for The Medium's soundtrack, which Yamaoka worked on as well, will also be available.

Akira Yamaoka composed the scores for both Silent Hill 3 and Silent Hill 4, as well as other works in the series. The music for Silent Hill 3 mixes horror ambience with guitar rock and trip-hop, which you can also hear in the soundtrack for Silent Hill 4. The games feature very different stories and atmospheres, however. Silent Hill 3 is a direct continuation of the cult storyline from the first game, whereas Silent Hill 4: The Room is not even in Silent Hill. The player travels between supernatural worlds and the eponymous, and claustrophobic, room.

Mondo also had the first two games’ soundtracks on vinyl available on their website. However, they are all currently sold out. Though Konami has not made any comments about further games in the series, they are still releasing new merchandise. For example, a limited edition hoodie went on pre-order in the Official Konami Shop on August 5, 2021.

The Mondo vinyl pressings for Silent Hill 3 and Silent Hill 4 will go on sale from the Mondo Shop on August 18, 2021.

An entry in another Konami staple series is more accessible again. It’s time for the Silent Hill 4 PC GOG debut. The storefront is selling the horror game DRM-free for $9.99.

Silent Hill 4 is one of the more nontraditional entries in the series, both in of its story and gameplay. It begins with our lead character, Henry, essentially trapped in his apartment. However, even though he is, he’s also going through a hole that lets him travel to different areas that are, spoiler alert, not quite right. As far as mechanics go, it is a more active installment focused on fighting, has a first-person perspective when you’re in the apartment, and has ghosts that aren’t handled like normal enemies.

The Silent Hill 4 PC GOG release s cloud saves. It also has English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish subtitle options.

Quite a few Konami games launched on GOG recently. At the end of September 2020, Konami Collector’s Series: Castlevania & Contra, Metal Gear, Metal Gear Solid, and Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance all showed up on the service. The price for those ranged from $5.99 to %9.99.

The Silent Hill 4 PC version is now available on GOG. It originally appeared on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox.

That's where Silent Hill 4: The Room takes place until you wander into a hole that appears in Henry's bathroom that takes you to Silent Hill  Sony Computer Entertainment Japan put Silent Hill 4: The Room in their Game Archives collection. You can get it with a Japanese PlayStation Network and by spending 1,200 yen ($15).

Did you know Capcom used to make otome games? They released Full House Kiss, a PlayStation 2 game based on the manga of the same name. Full House Kiss is just 800 yen ($10).

Sukusuku Inufuku (1,200 yen), Warriors Orochi (1,500 yen), and Sega Memorial Collection (800 yen) are also available on PlayStation Network.
