People who have been following the One Punch Man manga have to wait until July 2025 to see a new chapter, as it goes on a hiatus. Yusuke Murata, one of the mangaka artists behind the title, announced that the next One Punch Man update on the Tonari no Young Jump website is delayed until July 17, 2025, due to several unspecified circumstances.

This was not the first time One Punch Man had a hiatus, though. In March 2024, ONE and Yusuke Murata announced a long-term hiatus as they wanted to rework the manga from Chapter 240. The reworked chapters finally appeared starting from January 23, 2025.

The One Punch Man manga has been available to read for free in Japanese on Tonari no Young Jump. Prior to this hiatus announcement, ONE and Yusuke Murata regularly published new chapters on a biweekly basis. The latest chapter to date, Chapter 248, appeared on May 8, 2025.

Yusuke Murata's new announcement tweet in Japanese is also available to view right below:

https://twitter.com/NEBU_KURO/status/1925160384300003439

One Punch Man is also available in the tankobon (standalone book) format. The latest Japanese volume available as of May 2025 is Volume 33—covering Chapters 168-171—which Shueisha published on April 4, 2025. VIZ has also been gradually providing official English releases of the manga, with the English Volume 31 slated for release on July 15, 2025.

The next chapter in the One Punch Man manga, Chapter 249, will be available in Japanese on Tonari no Young Jump on Thursday, July 17, 2025. The anime adaptation of the title will have its third season launch in October 2025 to coincide with the tenth anniversary of the first season.

Demon Slayer Will Appear on Suntory Drinks Like Pepsi, CC Lemon

Suntory announced that characters from Shueisha and Koyoharu Gotouge’s Demon Slayer will appear on the labels of drinks like Pepsi and CC Lemon in Japan. Things start in the middle of June 2025 and an official site is open, though the crossover campaign and full reveal of additional items comes on June 16, 2025.

Here’s an official photo from social media that showed some of the Demon Slayer Suntory labels on products like Pepsi, CC Lemon, Dekavita C, Natchan, and Pop Melon Soda. In each case, it looks like there are two variants per drink. One type of label shows a hero, such a member of the main party or Hashira, while the other features a notable demon. The Pop Melon Soda examples show Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and the demon Gyokko on them. The first Pepsi Big Zero labels show Tanjiro Kamado and Muzan Kibutsuji on them. On the front of the Pepsi Lemon Big Zero are Zenitsu Agatsuma and the demon Daki. The first two CC Lemon bottles show Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui and Gyutaro, and the second two show Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku and Akaza. Dekavita C bottles in the example feature Inosuke Hashibira and Enmu. Finally, the Natchan bottles shown had Nezuko Kamado and Rui.

This is how that first example looks:

These are only confirmed for Japan. However, if you have an Asian grocery story near you, there is always a chance that the CC Lemon, Natchan, or other Suntory products imported will be the ones that feature those crossover labels and designs. For example, I saw the CC Lemon bottles with Splatoon 3 labels at a local Japanese grocery story after their September 2024 launch in Japan.

The Demon Slayer Suntory crossover that involves characters appearing on battles of sodas like Pepsi and CC Lemon drinks like Natchan will debut in June 2025. Viz Media handles the manga outside Japan, while the anime is streaming on Crunchyroll.

RuriDragon Manga on a Break Until June

Shueisha announced that the Shonen Jump manga RuriDragon is on a break until June 15, 2025. The last new chapter to appear is 34, which launched on May 18, 2025 worldwide. It can be read for free on both MangaPlus and Viz Media at time of writing, as both offer the first three chapters and three most recent ones to read for free online.

The 34th chapter in the series deals with some recent developments that came up around chapter 33. As Ruri’s draconic traits start to come in, it means suddenly learning to deal with and control them. One of the last ones is a frost ability. This means changing the temperature around her, as well as forming ice and freezing things, it means it’s gotten quite chilly and her temperature is dropping. We get to see how she deals with the new power even further.

As for physical copies of the manga, you can find one volume of RuriDragon in print now. Viz Media released that back in January 2025. Volume 2 is expected to debut on August 5, 2025 outside Japan. It’s up to three volumes released so far in Japan, as the third covered chapters 16-24 and debuted in March 2025.

The series proved quite popular since its debut in June 2022. So much so that there’s already a Nendoroid of the character on the way.

RuriDragon chapter 34 is available to read for free online now, and chapter 35 of the manga will appear in Shonen Jump and online on June 15, 2025.

Latest New Shonen Jump Manga Called Otr of the Flame

Shueisha announced its new Shonen Jump manga series is called Otr of the Flame. It can be found in English on both MangaPlus and Viz Media. Only the first chapter is available now.

Otr lives in the Forest Kingdom, which ended up under siege by the Ice Kingdom. As a result, it’s basically winter all year round. He wanted to do something to help his sister Sanna and people in his community, even though he was considered too young and perhaps unsuitable to be a warrior. So he heads to the kingdom’s fortress to act as a cook. The fortress captain Alajoki noticed something unusual when Otr breathed on the fire there to “help it last longer,” and cautioned the boy while also assuring him he’ll meet his father in Valhalla and make him proud no matter what he does. When Ice Kingdom Captain Beezbl and his forces break in, things look dire, but Otr manages to fight back and get a chance to be the hero he dreamed of by protecting the flame.

If the art or style looks familiar, it’s because mangaka Yuki Kawaguchi is something of an established creator. Previously, he worked on The Hunter’s Guild: Red Hood, following a 14th Gold Future Cup win. However, prior to this series, the creative previously tended to work on original one-shot series.

This is the second new Shonen Jump manga series to debut in a row. May 2025 kicked off with Magical Girl and Narco War debuting. And at the end of April 2025, Nice Prison launched. War of the Adultsand GGG also showed up for the first time in April 2025.

Otr of the Flame is now running in Shonen Jump, with the first chapter available worldwide in multiple languages. Chapter two of the series will debut on May 18, 2025.

New Shonen Jump Manga Is Magical Girl and Narco Wars

Shueisha announced its newest Shonen Jump Plus manga series is Magical Girl and Narco Wars from Yu Nomiya and Meijimerou. It is available worldwide, with the English localization available via MangaPlus. The first chapter is available online to read for free. Note that this is a mature series with graphic elements, and it’s one of the darker new stories from Shueisha.

The title of Magical Girl and Narco Wars is pretty self-explanatory, as the manga follows a magical girl named Riri Hoshina who ends up helping an undercover officer named Akira Susui deal with a new drug epidemic that hit Japan. Things begin with Riri chasing down and defeating someone dealing Candy, a new drug that consists of some of the same ingredients as the treat and is packaged in that way to help slip under the radar. While undercover with the Fuyugiri Family in the Jinsei Clan, Akira attends a funeral and finds out many yakuza are being murdered in a mysterious manner by an unknown assailant. After a chance encounter, we learn that Riri is aware of him, and the two team up to go after Candy’s manufacturer and end that menace.

Shueisha frequently adds new manga series to the Shonen Jump lineup. For example, one of the last ones to appear ahead of this one was Nice Prison. As of May 5, 2025, that is the 11th most popular series in the MangaPlus “hottest” list. Another series that’s fairly new is Love is Overkill. The first volume of that just launched in Japan in May 2025.

The first chapter of the new Shonen Jump manga Magical Girl and Narco Wars is available worldwide, and chapter 2 will debut on May 12, 2025.

New Nice Prison Manga Debuts in Shonen Jump

Shueisha announced a new manga series called Nice Prison is now available in Weekly Shonen Jump. The first chapter debuted on April 20, 2025. It’s from Tatsuya Suganuma, who hasn’t worked on too many series beyond a four-koma original just yet. It is available in English via both MangaPlus and Viz Media.

Nice Prison stars Horo Mitsuboshi, who has been a Super Model Prisoner at Nobana-shi Prison for three years. He’s used as an example to others to follow rules, stay in line, and serve their time peacefully. He “works” alongside Tera Adachi, a newly appointed guard at the prison who is following in her father’s footsteps. However, she finds all of the guards there are terrible at her job, and the prisoners are doing ridiculous things like recreating the upside-down Spider-Man kiss, blowing bubbles, treating guards like they’re dogs having hair cuts at a groomer, and doing aerial yoga. It’s then that Horo appears and everyone suddenly falls in line.

Mitsuboshi then confirms his mom gave birth to him in prison. When he heard what happened to Nobana-shi, he decided to purposely get himself arrested and thrown in there to make it a better place. After learning what caused the facility to go downhill, Mitsuboshi and Adachi head out to face the major criminal behind the problems.

The first chapter of Nice Prison is available now, and the second chapter of the new Weekly Shonen Jump manga will debut on April 27, 2025. The first three chapters will be available for free, as will the six latest chapters according to MangaPlus.

The first three chapters will be available for free, as will the six latest chapters according to MangaPlus.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oim_0n0nSWM

In the thumbnail for the music video, we can see an image of Sakura from the manga. According to the video description, the video will also heavily focus on her, as well as the rest of Team 7. Coincidentally or not, March 28th is also Sakura’s birthday.

The Shonen Jump channel on YouTube started ing its JUMPMV almost exactly two years ago on March 27, 2023. Naruto was one of the first manga series it made a video on, and the first one used Asian Kung-Fu Generation’s “Haruka Kanata.” Another one that came out around that time used DOES’s “Shura” for a Gintama video. Since then, Shueisha has released these videos for several other popular manga series, such as Bleach and Jujutsu Kaisen, at a pretty frequent rate.

Naruto Shippuden is readily available on streaming platforms such as Crunchyroll, and Viz Media licensed the manga for an English release.

New Bleach Music Video Features Aqua Timez Song

Shueisha pretty frequently releases JUMPMV music videos featuring Shonen Jump anime and manga series and popular or related songs on the official YouTube channel for the line, and the latest one is an Aqua Timez track for Bleach. This comes ahead of a season 4 of the Thousand-Year Blood War anime adaptation.

The song for this Bleach music video is “Oldrose.” It features major characters like Ichigo, Orihime, Chad, Uryu, and Rukia. Footage from early in the anime adaptation, as well as segments from later arcs, all appear. This is interspersed with real-world footage of locations and Bleach imagery not taken from the show.

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Anime Will Stream on Crunchyroll

Crunchyroll confirmed it will be the streaming home of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, an anime spin-off of the main manga and anime series. We already knew it would debut in April 2025, but now that’s been pinned down to April 7, 2025. As usual, these will be simulcasts out of Japan, so only Japanese audio with English subtitles will be available when it first debuts. The original anime adaptation and two movies based on the series are already streaming on the service.

To go along with the reveal, there is a new trailer for My Hero Academia: Vigilantes that shows off the main characters in the new anime. You do need to turn on closed captions for the English translation. It starts by introducing Koichi “Nice Guy” Haimawari, the hero of the series and head vigilante. He meets Iwao “Knuckleduster” Oguro, a vigilante who takes him under his wing. Also in their group is Kazuho “Pop Star” Haneyama. The footage of them trying to be heroes in their own way is interspersed with moments in their college life. We also see their main opponent and goal to help wipe out a drug that enhances Quirks and makes people into villains.

Here’s the full trailer. Toward the halfway mark, we get to hear the Kocchi no Kento theme song “Kekka Orai.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84F2-8QExiY

The new key art also appeared, which shows the three lead characters and other prominent figures in the show. Here’s how that looks:

As for Japanese voice actors, here’s who is part of the cast. Many performers are reprising their roles from the original My Hero Academia anime adaptation.

  • All Might: Kenta Miyake
  • Eraser Head: Junichi Suwabe
  • Ingenium: Masamichi Kitada
  • Knuckleduster: Yasuhiro Mamiya
  • Koichi Haimawari: Shuichiro Umeda
  • Midnight: Akeno Watanabe
  • Pop Step: Ikumi Hasegawa
  • Present Mic: Hiroyuki Yoshino

The My Hero Academia: Vigilantes anime will be streaming on Crunchyroll starting on April 7, 2025. The original series and its movies are also on that service. Viz Media handles the manga and other spin-off books outside Japan.

Crunchyroll announced that there will be an array of new One Piece Egghead arc anime episodes, with English dub ones appearing ahead of new simulcast installments out of Japan. The new dubbed debut is March 18, 2025. However, more totally new episodes show up on April 6, 2025.

In the case of the English One Piece Egghead arc dub releases, it basically finishes up season 21 of the anime. Last Crunchyroll left off, it stopped at episode 1,108. The new drop picks up at 1,109. That will carry over to episode 1,122, which was the last episode of that season.

As for the new episodes, that picks up right where things left off. Episode 1,123 of the One Piece Egghead Arc will debut on April 6, 2025. This means it will be a part of the Spring 2025 anime season when it arrives.

In the meantime, there will also be some additional anime adaptations to watch. The specials 14, 15, and 16 will all appear on March 18, 2025.

This means there’s one arc that isn’t in the anime yet. While we’re getting through the Egghead arc of One Piece, none of Elbaph showed up. However, that only did start in September 2024, so it might be a while before that shows up.

You can find the anime on Crunchyroll and Netflix, and Viz Media handles the manga outside of Japan. The live-action adaptation is only on Netflix

After a major step forward means Uka and Kai's relationship in Honey Lemon Soda changes, the manga starts to tackle the new dynamic.

The series Honey Lemon Soda always felt like it offered a fairly realistic take on the growth and development of not only characters Uka and Kai, but their relationship. While we get to see this right from the start in both the manga and anime adaptations, it’s especially evident in later chapters and volumes of the story. With volume 8 of the manga, for example, we’re seeing what happens when both the nature of the relationship changing and Uka growing as a person happen.

Editor’s Note: There will be spoilers for volume 8 of the Honey Lemon Soda manga below. 1j2iv

Okay, so right from the start this volume of the Honey Lemon Soda manga is exciting. We came out of the last entry with Uka finally making her feelings known to Kai. Since that’s reciprocated, all of that is out in the open. People notice. But because Uka is so naive, she doesn’t really get that this means the two are an item.

So initially, we’re dealing with the fact that the two really need to understand define what their relationship is now. Kai, who is more experienced, confident, and aware, sort of behaves in a way that purposely makes her come out and say it. That way, she better understands, there are no misconceptions, and they are together. However, because of the care Mayu Murata puts into the story and design, we can see how much this bothers and affects Kai as well. He already knows exactly how much Uka means to him. He’s ready to go ahead and be official. But he’s choosing to pull back and be even a bit more curt about it all, as that means Uka does need to think more clearly about what she wants and step up.

It also then means we see Uka growing as a person. She’s taking the care to go outside of her comfort zone. She makes great strides when speaking up, even though her and Kai initially don’t seem to be connecting regarding the change in their status. And when it does click and things get through, it’s so satisfying for them to both sort of… understand. They start to get it. Each of their feelings get through.

I also love how, even though we do get this satisfying element of Uka and Kai being together now, Honey Lemon Soda doesn’t shy away from getting into the challenges that come from a high school romance and connecting with your first love. That initial communication issue? That’s just one part. There’s also the fact that Uka is growing during this process. Throughout this volume, we see her start to step outside of her comfort zone. Part of this is for Kai, of course, but many of the decisions are ones she is also making for herself. One of the earliest ones, and the one that leads to them being separated into different classes, is her choice to pursue a college education. So we have them considering their goals and futures, while still staying together.

I’m not going to spoil what happens in this volume, of course. However, the result ends up being satisfying! We see both Uka and Kai react in a health manner to these obstacles. Namely, with the two just communicating and being together, rather than letting them get in their own heads or others get in the way.

A lot of the satisfaction in Honey Lemon Soda comes from watching Uka recover from bullying, rebuild her confidence, and find people who love and appreciate her for who she is. We’re constantly seeing her progress in the series. With volume 8 of the manga, we’re seeing the new types of anxieties that can come from the Uka and Kai finally entering a proper relationship. Yet, in again a reassuring way, we get to see that growth and independence doesn’t mean sacrificing people or relationships along the way. It makes me excited to see how Uka and Kai’s romance goes next.

Volume 8 of the Honey Lemon Soda manga is available now, and Yen Press will release volume 9 on June 24, 2025. The anime is available via Crunchyroll.
