Daiichi announced that it will release a new Pachinko game titled e Senran Kagura on February 3, 2025. The company will base the new Pachinko title on Marvelous' existing action game series.

The new Pachinko game will have a regular jackpot rate of 1/399, but there will be a special Zetsu-Hiden Rush Mode that increases the rate to 1/63.5. Players will have around 57% chance to enter the mode and 80% to maintain it. The game will also have a Lucky Trigger feature where players can enter a Rapid Chance Zone that may result in a large number of Pachinko balls in one go.

The company has also been showcasing a playable sample machine of the Senran Kagura Pachinko game across Akihabara. The machine is available at SENGOKU193 on the ninth floor of the Hulic & New Akihabara building until January 19, 2025. Daiichi will then spend the next day moving the sample machine to the Akihabara Gamers main store, and it will stay there until the company formally launches the game on February 3, 2025.

The latest Senran Kagura console game as of early 2025 is the crossover title Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars, which Compile Heart and Idea Factory gradually released for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam between 2021 and 2022. Since then, characters from the franchise have more frequently appeared as crossover guests in free-to-play games, such as Azur Lane in 2023 and BrownDust2 in 2024.

Neowiz announced a Senran Kagura: New Link crossover for BrownDust2. People can now get recurring characters Hikage, Yomi, Yozakura, and Yumi and go through a special event until October 31, 2024. 

All four BrownDust2 characters from Senran Kagura are heroines who are series staples, in addition to being regulars in the Japanese mobile game New Link. Yomi and Hikage are Hebijo heroines who have been present since the initial 3DS game. Both Yozakura and Yomi are Gessen ninjas who first showed up in Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus on the Vita.

People will get Yomi: Gentle Destroyer, Yomi’s SR gear, UR gear, and six costumes for free as part of this event. However, while the Hikage, Yozakura, and Yumi SR gear will be given out for free, those characters, UR gear, and costumes will be available via gacha banners. Note that after the event, the costumes won’t be in the Powder of Hope Shop and the gear won’t be able to be acquired. 

The official announcement listed details about all four characters and what we can expect from them. Here are their properties.

• Hikage: Kind Ruthlessness - 5-star Wind unit who deals Physical damage.
• Yomi: Gentle Destroyer - 5-star Wind unit who deals Physical damage.
• Yozakura: Fist of Conviction - 5-star Wind unit who deals Magic damage.
• Yumi: Dancing Snowflake - 5-star Water unit who deals Magic damage.

As for the story, it is in a Senran Kagura Event Pack. That runs until October 31, 2024. The seasonal events tied to it are the Shinobi Road shuriken minigame and True Orochi boss until October 17, 2024. This is also when the Hikage and Yozakura banners are live. The Akatsuki event involves wooden doll smashing and a Fiend Hunter boss between October 17-31, 2024. The Yumi banners will run then.

A Senran Kagura crossover event will appear in Azur Lane. Yostar revealed full details about the crossover in a live stream on the game's Japanese YouTube channel. The event will launch after the update maintenance on November 23, 2023.

A total of seven Senran Kagura characters will appear in this crossover. Asuka, Ikaruga, Yumi, Homura, and Murasaki from the console games will make their appearances here. Marvelous and Yostar will complete the list with Fubuki and Yuyaki, who debuted in the series' mobile games.

Here is the full list of Senran Kagura characters who will appear in Azur Lane, based on the image below from left to right. The list also includes each character's in-game rigging class, rarity, and methods to obtain.

Senran Kagura will the ever-growing list of franchises that have held crossover events in Azur Lane. The shipgirl-collecting mobile game has previously held collaborations with Hyperdimension Neptunia, Utawarerumono, Kizuna AI, Hololive, Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation, The Idolm@ster, Gridman Universe, and Atelier Ryza.

Azur Lane is available worldwide on iOS and Android mobile devices. The Senran Kagura crossover event will run from November 23, 2023, to December 7, 2023.

Mobile game Senran Kagura New Link is getting a crossover with Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? (DanMachi, for short). The event will add three new playable characters to the roster drawn from DanMachi's cast. The characters are the goddess Hestia, elven guardian Ryu Lion, and first-class adventurer Ais Wallenstein. The event went live on November 15, 2022.

The event teaser shows off the new playable characters and their abilities in battle. Ryu, Ais, and Hestia appear as they do in the DanMachi anime series' 4th season. They can also sport unlockable swimsuits. DanMachi protagonist Bell Cranel doesn't appear in the Senran Kagura New Link DanMachi crossover, but the event rewards costume parts for the character Miyabi that mimic Bell's costume and hairdo.

Ryu Lion is dressed in her outfit from her time as an adventurer. In the anime, she first appears as an unassuming waitress at the local tavern. Later on, viewers learn of her past as a highly skilled adventurer. Ais Wallenstein has played a major role in the DanMachi storyline, being idolized by Bell and having a reputation as one of the strongest adventurers around. She also led her own series, the DanMachi spin-off anime Sword Oratoria. Hestia is DanMachi's heroine, and the divine head of the Hestia Familia, the group to which Bell belongs.

Senran Kagura New Link is available on iOS and Android devices in Japan. DanMachi is available for streaming on services like HiDive and Netflix. The Senran Kagura New Link DanMachi crossover event runs until November 29, 2022.

Honey Parade Games published a new webpage to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Senran Kagura series. The page also contains celebratory messages from voice actresses who provided voices to the main characters from the inaugural 2011 title, such as Hitomi Harada (who voiced the protagonist Asuka), Eri Kitamura (Homura), and Asami Imai (Ikaruga).

Senran Kagura is a franchise featuring battles between female shinobis attending ninja-related high schools. The series officially began when Marvelous released the first action game on Nintendo 3DS in Japan on September 22, 2021.

As listed on the 10th-anniversary webpage, the latest Senran Kagura games published by Marvelous came out in 2018. It released Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal, an HD version of the inaugural 3DS titles, in February 2018. The company also released a pinball spin-off game titled Senran Kagura Peach Ball in December 2018 in Japan and 2019 in the West.

The franchise also has an active mobile game titled Shinobi Master Senran Kagura: New Link. Originally launched in November 2017 in Japan, the free-to-play game is still available to this day. Marvelous previously had an older mobile game titled Senran Kagura: New Wave that ran since 2012. However, the company shut down the title in October 2020.

Compile Heart recently made a collaborative title between the Neptunia and Senran Kagura series. It released the game first in Japan on September 16, 2021. Idea Factory International will release the game in the West as Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars in North America on October 26, 2021, and Europe on October 29, 2021.

Compile Heart revealed a new crossover game between the Senran Kagura series and Neptunia series. The announcement comes from the second day of the Game Live Japan livestream. Titled Senran NinNinNinja Taisen Neptune: Shojo-Tachi no Kyoen, the game will release for PlayStation 4 in 2021. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

The reveal trailer for the Senran Kagura Neptunia crossover game promises a fast-paced action-RPG with ninjutsu. The video showed off some of the game in motion, which played similarly to past Senran Kagura titles. The livestream also explained that there will be 2D segments of the game that focus on conversation in addition to 3D battles. There will also be a mysterious minigame that involves hot springs, peaches, and meditation. The Senran Kagura series is no stranger to puzzling minigames. The trailer ended by stating that there will be more details in the April 8, 2021 issue of Weekly Famitsu. Check out the promotional video during the stream below at the 2:31:00 mark.

Sega has released a new trailer that details an content update for the Japanese version of its popular MMORPG, Phantasy Star Online 2. [Thanks! Twinfinite] Some of what is included in the Phantasy Star Online 2 trailer pertains to Senran Kagura video game series. In particular, it features the “Senran Shinobi Dance” AC scratch.

The video showcases avatars wearing a range of clothing, some of which looks very casual by Earth, 2020 standards. It also depicts emotes, combat encounters, and in-game models of things that are, according to a cursory google search, referred to as oppai mousepads. The embedded trailer is in Japanese, so not everybody will be able to read it, but the new content is still well-represented visually.

Phantasy Star Online 2 players know by this point that the game is no stranger to crossovers. Sega recently announced a crossover with Sword Art Online  that will come to the Japanese version of the game in December. Sword Art Online is an Isekai anime about players who play MMORPGs using deeply immersive technology. Its protagonist, Kirito, will be present in the crossover, as will another main character, Asuna.

On July 23, 2020, Sega also announced a new Phantasy Star title called Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis. It is expected to come out in 2021 and will contain new graphics and game systems.

Phantasy Star Online 2 is available in the west for Xbox One and PC. In Japan, it is available on PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The content featured in the Senran Kagura trailer, like the battlewear gear, will release on November 18, 2020.

XSEED, Marvelous, and Honey Parade Games’ Kandagawa Jet Girls is now available worldwide. As expected from a launch, that means the publishers are celebrating with new trailers. Marvelous in Europe has put out two. One is the basic launch trailer you’d expect from such a game. The other takes the time to focus on the Kandagawa Jet Girls Senran Kagura Character , which lets people add eight of the ninjas to the game for an additional fee.

Here’s a better look at all the Senran Kagura heroines on jet skis. As a reminder, people who pick up this additional character will end up getting Asuka and Yumi, Homura and Hikage, Ikaruga and Yomi, and Murasaki and Mirai. Each pair acts as one additional team you can use in the game. (Also, Ryobi and Ryona are also there, but they are a part of the base game’s roster.)

In addition to the more character-focused , there’s also a more general Kandagawa Jet Girls trailer. This one spends just under a minute showing what it looks like when teams like the Kandagawa Jet Girls, Dress, Hell’s Kitchen, Unkai Surfers, MKHU, Sea Serpents, and Grindcore take to the track.

Marvelous shared a new Kandagawa Jet Girls gameplay video featuring guest DLC characters Yumi and Asuka from Senran Kagura.

Both Yumi and Asuka are available as DLC from the limited edition DX Jet Pack version of Kandagawa Jet Girls. This version is available for 13,800 yen plus tax for the physical and 9,980 yen plus tax for digital. You can also get the digital DX Jet Pack + Senran Kagura Character for 12,980 yen plus tax.

Senran Kagura series boobie producer Kenichiro Takaki is now at Cygames working on various projects including his own new action game. He talked about what he’s been up to in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine. [Thanks, Ryokutya2089.]

• “The Console Games Division was established on April 1, so it’s a division that is fresh out of the oven.”

• “President Watanabe (Koichi Watanabe) felt my enthusiasm of wanting to make the kind of games I loved when I was a kid.”

• “I’m the general manager of the division. I basically work together with  Cygames’ development on console game projects.”

• I am currently working as a producer for the development of Project Awakening that was unveiled last year. For Granblue Fantasy Relink and Granblue Fantasy Versus, I’m working together with the original Granblue Fantasy team as an advisor and .”

• “There’s a vast number of unannounced titles in development, including titles aimed for kids to adults.”

• “The Console Games Division is still on a smaller scale with about 10 , and each game’s development team is connected.”

• “Cygames is seriously aiming to become the best in the world. The Project Awakening trailer wasn’t a movie scene but actual PlayStation 4 gameplay.”

• “We’ve been looking into next-generation consoles.”

• “A big announcement is expected for Granblue Fantasy Versus in the near future. We plan to include a paper manual with the game. If you want to leave an impression for gamers, you have to be courteous. Granblue Fantasy Relink’s development is going well.”

After 13 years with the company, Senran Kagura producer Kenichiro Takaki left Marvelous to work on a new game for consoles at Cygames. In his interview with Famitsu he shared more on how it happened.

Here’s a part of his interview on how Takaki left Marvelous, the troubles of recent restriction policies, why he ed Cygames, and more:

Famitsu: First, please tell us the whole story about why you decided to leave Marvelous.

Kenichiro Takaki: “The biggest reason was the change in restrictions for depicting sexuality in video games, which has been a topic since sometime last year. Up until now there’s been parts that changed here and there, but as of late it’s been ‘Can’t do that, or that, and probably not that either,’ and basically everything is no good. I never imagined leaving Marvelous, or even changing the style of my work, but due to a certain timing last year, I felt as though some kind of string inside me just snapped.”

So being able to express sexuality had become a big influence on the work you put into making games.

Kenichiro Takaki: “It really has. There’s always been various  limitations, be it development time, money, people, and I always did the best with what I had, but I felt that on top of all that, putting such restrictions on the creative side was more painful than anything. Sexual stuff will always get criticized one way or another, but there are just so many people that enjoy and it. It might’ve looked like I was always doing whatever absurd thing I wanted for Senran Kagura, but I cared about it in my own way, and regularly consulted with the parties concerned up until now. It’s like being told you’re barely out when everything is basically safe. It’s a title I started with the thought of ‘It’s okay to have a game like this’ even if it meant not getting the general . I used to think that having such a variation was part of what made the whole game industry attractive, but to think how easily it could be destroyed… it got me thinking about all kinds of stuff.”

Not being able to continue making what you’ve been making up until now is certainly a big problem.

Kenichiro Takaki: “I fully restrictions that are made to protect certain genres or surroundings. However, the way it is trending now just feels like it is happening with the purpose of shutting things down. Coming up with ideas that make the best out of what we’re given is something I’m good at and enjoy doing, but currently we have big problems, especially for the numbered titles, like can we really call this Senran Kagura under these conditions, or will the fans even want this, and so on.”

Of Course Senran Kagura has its share of sexual presentation, but I’ve always had the impression that it was just part of an element that made the title. So you’re saying that even that got more difficult to do.

Kenichiro Takaki: “When looking at the whole thing, in reality it’s only about 10% or 20% of the elements that are actually different, and there are parts that stand out, but in spite of that when looking at it in of worldwide standards it gets judged as ‘everything is sexual’ and that’s what really hurts.

I am now 42-years-old, so when I think ‘What will I do for the next 10 years?’ I’ve been thinking about being 50-years-old. Who knows how much longer I’ll be able to keep crushing the work hours I do now, there’s also been some changes after getting married and with the birth of my daughter, so I’ve been reflecting on ‘what is it that I personally wanted to do.’ Of course I did always really want to make ‘something with beautiful girls,’ but I also want to make a so-called orthodox fantasy, the kind we used to be ionate about when we were kids. However, I haven’t had many opportunities to do that up until now.”

So you want to make a title for a broader audience.

Kenichiro Takaki: “That’s right. When I thought about making a major title that will take three to five years, I couldn’t help but think ‘it’s now or never,’ so I decided to leave Marvelous for the time being to see if I can work in a different way. My relationship with Marvelous is excellent, and they have nothing but good people working there, the position and salary was also truly great, but in the end I couldn’t hold back the desire to once again take on the challenge of pursuing my childhood dream. However, having to distance myself from all the work I’ve done up until now is painful and difficult to put into words…”

Stepping into new surroundings in order to take on a new challenge.

Kenichiro Takaki: “I’m sure it’ll trouble the many fans of my work until now as well as my seniors and subordinates at the company. Regardless, the biggest part of me still wants to further invigorate the console games industry that I’ve always ired.”

And where will you be ing after reg from Marvelous?

Kenichiro Takaki: “Cygames. I’ll be working on the development on a console title. It was practically an opportunity I wouldn’t find anywhere else in the world, so I gave it some thought and made my decision.”

Senran Kagura boobie producer Kenichiro Takaki recently left Marvelous to go make a fantasy game at Cygames, but he’ll still finish up his current games at Marvelous, including a new multimedia project that was teased. Famitsu provided a sneak peek with a screenshot and a drawing of a girl.

Here’s a snippet from the interview with Famitsu:

Famitsu: Other than the Senran Kagura series, we hear that you’re working on another project behind the scenes, would you care to talk about that?

Kenichiro Takaki: “I still can’t share information such as the title name, but I can say that it is being made as its own title, unrelated to Senran Kagura. I thought of the original plans, and we plan to make it into both a video game and anime. The director for the anime version will be Hiraku Kaneko-san, who we’ve all known as ‘Oppai Director,’ and the character design will be handled by Hanaharu Naruko-san, among other top-class . And Marvelous is the publisher.

Will that title have sexual elements in it as well?

Kenichiro Takaki: “While it will have beautiful girls and such, you won’t be able to do things like take off their clothes. Think of it as a title that is relatively traditional hot-blooded title.”

When did development start?

Kenichiro Takaki: “We’ve been going at it for about a year and half. I’ll still be working hard on it after leaving Marvelous, so please look forward to that, too!”

Senran Kagura series’ boobie producer Kenichiro Takaki revealed in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine that he has left Marvelous after 13 years and has ed Cygames for something new. [Thanks, Ryokutya2089.]

According to Takaki, the biggest reason he left Marvelous is due to the recent policies that have restricted sexual depictions. He personally felt a thread snap with that. He says that while sexual content tends to get criticized a lot, it has just as much people who enjoy it.

Takaki always believed that such variety was one of the things that ed the games industry, but after realizing how easily that could be broken, it made him think about other things. While Takaki welcomes restrictions and regulations that are made to protect certain genres and surroundings, he felt that this recent trend is happening for the purpose of shutting things down.

As for his next work, Takaki wants to work on an orthodox fantasy-like game that he used to be crazy about when he was a child. He ed Cygames with that in mind, and is currently working on a title for consoles.

Senran Kagura fans who were looking forward to the next titles won’t have to worry, as he will continue working on those and will make sure they get finished. However, he says Senran Kagura 7even will take some time. The base of the game won’t change, but there are some parts that need upgrading. After that he hopes either he or someone else can finish it and bring it to the fans. The presentation of erotic gags are better than ever, and he will continue working with the staff of Senran Kagura.

“I’ll let Marvelous handle the adjustments, but I’ll continue to stick around as the boobie producer,” said Takaki.

As for other work at Marvelous, he’s currently part of a new multimedia project that involves a game and anime. The original plan was by Takaki and it features character designs by Hanaharu Naruko and animation directed by Hiraku Kaneko.

The new project doesn’t involve Senran Kagura, but Marvelous will be the producers. It has beautiful girls, but their clothes won’t be coming off. It is described as an orthodox hot-blooded game, and its development started about a year and a half ago. It features a girl riding a bike, so it sounds like a possible action game.

Takaki wants to make something amazing that will make people think it’s cheeky coming from the “Boobie Producer.”

“The place I work and the nature of my work may change, but I won’t and will not change what I want to show,” said Takaki. “I’m a video game fan down to the core and I say dirty jokes and spout a lot of nonsense [laughs], but when it comes to making games, I always give it my best.”

A special Blu-ray Box for the Senran Kagura anime’s first season will release in Japan on September 26, 2018. It includes all 12 episodes and the OVA in a special box and packaging, with special bonux videos featuring six original animation clips, the opening and ending with no credit rolls, and a collection of trailers and TV spots for 22,000 yen plus tax.
