There are new details about Dan Da Dan season 2, as GKids released a trailer ahead of the debut in movie theaters. In the US and Canada, we’ll get to see the show first on June 6, 2025, ahead of it streaming on services like Crunchyroll on July 3, 2025. 

First, there’s the one and a half minute trailer for Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye, which is the name the first three season 2 episodes are being released under when those show up in movie theaters. The video begins with the yokai Evil Eye, the antagonist of this latest arc, announcing his intentions to assault humanity now that he found a body. However, Okarun is there and takes on the Turbo Granny form to fight back. From there, we get a hint at some of the fights Momo and Okarun face at the start of the new season.

We don’t just know the theatrical debut dates for North America. The official English social media covered four different regions. The earliest episodes will appear is on May 30, 2025, as that’s when it will show up in countries in Asia. On June 6, 2025, it will show up in North America and Australia. The European debut is a day later on June 7, 2025. 

Coincidentally, June also happens to be when the next volume of the Dan Da Dan manga will appear in English. Viz Media announced that volume 13 will launch on June 3 2025. Previously, volume 12 debuted on April 1, 2025. 

Dan Da Dan season 2 will start on July 3, 2025, though the first three episodes will appear as Dan Da Dan: Evil Eye in movie theaters in North America on June 6, 2025. The manga is released outside Japan by Viz Media.

A new anime adaptation of The Ghost in the Shell manga will appear in 2026, and studio Science SARU will be in charge of animating it. A new key visual featuring protagonist and Public Security Section 9 agent Major Motoko Kusanagi was revealed, alongside a short teaser.

The full official Japanese name for the anime is Kokaku Kidotai: The Ghost in the Shell. Moko-chan will be in charge of directing the new show, and this will be their directorial debut after working as assistant director in Dan Da Dan, and his work on Scott Pilgrim Takes Off.

Additionally, the script will be written by Toh EnJoe, with Shuhei Handa working as the character designer and executive animation director, who created the key visual. The teaser trailer is a bit short of a minute long, and it features various concept art of locations and characters such as Batou and Section 9 leader Daisuke Aramaki.

The original manga creator Masamune Shirow offered a comment about the new production, in which he said the following:

"In of anime adaptations, this is the fourth Ghost in the Shell project following Oshii’s, Kamiyama’s and Kise’s. You could also consider it the 10th version if you count Ghost in the Shell (1995), Innocence, the Stand Alone Complex first and second seasons and Solid State Society, the Arise series, new movie, and first and second seasons of SAC_2045.

Considering the change in production staff, you could say it's the first work in a second generation. The original manga is old, so I ask that you understand that (my apologies.) I genuinely hope you will be able to enjoy it as a good visual work."

The Ghost in the Shell anime adaptation is currently in production and will be coming in 2026. More information on the new project will appear at a later date. Some past anime adaptations are on Crunchyroll.

According to ryokutya2089, season 2 of the Dan Da Dan anime will start airing from July 2025. The first season ended on December 19, 2024, and it is streaming on Crunchyroll. Crunchyroll followed up later by confirming that it will offer the second season when it airs next year. [Thanks, ryokutya2089!]

Dan Da Dan is a story about Okarun, a young man who believes in aliens and denies the existence of ghosts, and Momo, young woman believes in ghosts but denies the existence of aliens. The two of them are classmates and gain paranormal powers related to the group they don’t believe in. They then use these powers to fight against spirits and aliens.

Yukinobu Tatsu's manga started running back in April 2021, currently there are 17 volumes available in Japan. As for the anime, it started airing in October 2024. The first season, which only has 12 episodes, ended at the Cursed House Arc. Depending on the pacing of the anime, season 2 of Dan Da Dan may cover events between the Evil Eye Arc and the Onbusuman Arc. In the first season, each arc except the first one took only about two episodes to complete.

Dan Da Dan is available on streaming services like Crunchyroll and Netflix, and you can read the manga in English via Viz Media. Season 2 of Dan Da Dan will apparently air in July 2025, and it’ll likely appear on the aforementioned streaming sites when the time comes.

At Anime NYC 2024, the DAN DA DAN will feature the English anime dub premiere, and two voice actors ended up confirmed ahead of it. Abby Trott will play Momo Ayase, while Ken “Okarun” Takakura’s voice actor is AJ Beckles. They and the characters’ Japanese voice actors will be at the August 24, 2024 at 11am ET. 

As a reminder, Momo and Okarun are classmates in DAN DA DAN who discover both aliens and ghosts are real after a bet. Their encounters with both lead to them gaining special abilities and working together to deal with both types of otherworldly menaces. The manga has been running since April 2021, but the anime is only about to start in October 2024. 

As for the , it will mark the first opportunity to see an episode of the show. In addition to Trott and Beckles appearing, the Japanese voice actors for both leads will appear as well. They are Shion Wakayama as Momo and Natsuki Hanae as Okarun. Producer Hiroyuki Aoi will also attend the 90 minute .

At Japan Expo, All The Anime announced that a Blu-Ray edition of Devilman Crybaby will come out some time in the future. It will be available in the UK and in North America.

Though it's coming soon, we have no news as to when All The Anime will release the Devilman Crybaby Blu-Ray. The website also does not have any news in regards to that. A Blu-Ray does already exist, having come out in 2018. It came with lots of goodies, like a poster and a CD containing the freestyle rap from the show. However, this was only available with Japanese audio and was limited to Japan. It’s unknown whether the All The Anime version will come with extra content as well.

Devilman Crybaby came out in 2018 on Netflix, with Masaaki Yuasa serving as the director. It is a reimagined story featuring different character designs from the original Go Nagai manga, as well as an updated setting (taking place in a more recent era rather than the 1970s). Because of the changes—including additional themes of LGBT, sexuality, and bigotry rather than a pure anti-war message—some people didn’t like it. But it was very popular and well-received from critics.
