Samsung Japan announced that it has put up a new ment for its Samsung 990 Pro SSD, which also features character artwork from the 22 jobs available in Final Fantasy XIV. People can find it on two large ment boards in Tokyo, Japan. To be more precise, the ad appears at the Bic Camera Yurakucho Store and on the B4 floor of Shibuya Station's Tokyu Toyoko Line.

This ad does not mean people can find and purchase a Samsung 990 Pro SSD with Final Fantasy XIV already pre-installed, though. This is just a part of Samsung's "Make Your GG" promotion project where it pledges to provide "the best gaming experiences" with its SSD storage products.

Samsung had previously set up a booth promoting the same project at the Tokyo Game Show 2024. It featured games from not only Square Enix like Final Fantasy XIV and XVI but also Sega's Sonic x Shadow Generations, Atlus' Metaphor: ReFantazio, and Capcom's Street Fighter 6 and Monster Hunter Wilds among many others.

The collaboration ment art between Final Fantasy XIV and the Samsung 990 Pro SSD will be visible until December 29, 2024, at the Shibuya Station, and mid-February 2025 at the Bic Camera Yurakucho Store.

Final Fantasy XIV is available worldwide on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Square Enix released the version 7.15 update patch on December 17, 2024.

A new Genshin Impact event will be held at the Galaxy Harajuku store in Tokyo, Japan between September 28-29, 2024. Ayumi Murase, who is the Japanese voice actor for Venti, and influencer Yuraneko will appear as guests during the opening act of the event. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

Samsung and MiHoYo revealed that a photo area will be available for visitors to take pictures alongside Genshin Impact slimes and the new Yumkasaurus creatures that appear in the recently released Natlan area. The venue will be decorated with various Genshin Impact plushes and motifs, especially from Natlan. In addition, there will be test play areas where people can try Genshin Impact on the Galaxy S24 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 6 devices.

People who try the game on the mobile devices, take pictures in the photo area, and post the photos on social media will be eligible to participate in a free lottery to win merchandise goods from the “Shakunetsu no Natlan” (Scorching Natlan) merchandise line. The Genshin Impact Galaxy Harajuku event will be free. However, people intending to attend will have to in advance for different time slots.

Genshin Impact is readily available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices. The Xbox Series X version arrives on November 20, 2024.

Samsung Japan will release three new Pokemon earbuds cases as part of its Galaxy Buds series. They’ll be the Pokemon Super Ball Eco-Friends Cover, Pokemon Hyper Ball Eco-Friends Cover, and Pokemon Master Ball Eco-Friends Cover. [Thanks, Game Watch!]

As you can imagine from the names, the Galaxy Buds cases all look like balls from the Pokemon series. To be more specific, you can get balls that look like the Great Ball (Super Ball in Japanese), the Ultra Ball (Hyper Ball in Japanese), or the Master Ball. You can get these via the Samsung online shop, Galaxy Harajuku, or the Slash B Slash online shop. They cost 4879 JPY ($32.25) each. Because of the inside shape of the case, earbuds other than Galaxy Buds might not fit correctly.

In the past, Samsung Japan released a Poke Ball version of the cover. These ones are actually available for purchase outside of Japan. So there’s a chance that you will be able to eventually buy the Pokemon Great Ball, Ultra Ball, and Master Ball earbuds cases as well, even if you live in another country. If you absolutely must get your hands on these earbuds cases right now, you will need to use a proxy service.

Samsung and HoYoVerse announced an phone collaboration, with a Honkai: Star Rail edition Samsung Galaxy S24. The phone itself, as well as its accessories, will have a Silver Wolf theme. [Thanks, Star Rail Goods!]

There will be a real-life event in Samsung Gangnam, which will run from March 28, 2024 until April 10, 2024. However, there is no news yet as to when to expect the phone. The Galaxy S24 will come in a box that looks like a retro handheld gaming console, and there will be multiple accessories like acrylic stands, a bracelet, and a phone case that looks like what Silver Wolf has in Honkai: Star Rail.

The Honkai: Star Rail Silver Wolf collaboration phone is not the only exclusive device HoYoVerse and Samsung will put out. There is also a Ganyu version of the Galaxy Z Fold4, as well as Galaxy Buds2 Pro Genshin Impact edition. As well, you can purchase a Nilou themed Galaxy S23, complete with accessories and a special box.

Silver Wolf in Honkai: Star Rail has a gamer girl aesthetic and is a five-star Quantum Nihility unit. She is only available when her limited banner is active in the game. With her special ability to plant Weaknesses into enemies, she is a very important and useful character when it comes to building teams.

Honkai: Star Rail is readily available on the PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. The Honkai: Star Rail Silver Wolf Samsung Galaxy S24 will come out some time in the near future.

Samsung recently restocked the highly popular Pokemon Poke Ball earbud case for Galaxy Buds exclusively on the Samsung online store in Japan. The earphone case is currently sold out on the website, but people can sign up for notifications when the case will restock. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

Licensed by Pokemon, Nintendo, Creatures Inc., and Game Freak, the Poke Ball earphone case was originally released in 2022 for Samsung's line of Galaxy Buds. The case combines recycled materials and production quality with the iconic Poke Ball design to craft a unique product for Pokemon fans. The Poke Ball earphone case costs ¥ 4,480 (~$30 USD) from the Samsung online store in Japan.

The earphone case is compatible with Galaxy Buds2 Pro, Galaxy Buds2, Galaxy Buds FE, Galaxy Buds Pro, and Galaxy Buds Live. The Pokemon Poke Ball case is designed to be able to place the entire Galaxy Buds case inside of it. Although the Galaxy Buds are created with Samsung products in mind, the earbuds are compatible to use on any Android and iOS devices by connecting the earbuds through Bluetooth.

Samsung will have other cases on sale for Pokemon at the Galaxy Harajuku store, although the earphone case is only purchasable on the Samsung online store as an exclusive item.

Recently, Pokemon collaborated with Tiffany and Co. to release a brand new line of luxury Pokemon jewelry which also featured a Poke Ball design for for the jewelry cases.

Samsung confirmed people who own one of the company’s Smart TVs will be able to access Starfield in the Samsung Gaming Hub. This is because of how the system works with Microsoft’s Xbox Game system. As long as someone subscribes to that service, they will have access to the title to stream on the TV.

The announcement did offer some details about how this will work. As Starfield will be a day-on Xbox Game game, it will be on the Samsung Gaming Hub on smart TVs that day. However, people can’t immediately start playing it on September 6, 2023 when it launches. They will need a subscription to the service and a Bluetooth controller. As such, any recent Xbox Wireless Controller, say for an Xbox One or Xbox Series X, would be compatible.

As a reminder, the Samsung Gaming Hub uses a number of different apps to provide access to games. For example, Amazon Luna and NVidia GeForce Now are both ed. People who own a smart TV or monitor from the Samsung would be able to play Starfield on it.

Starfield will release on September 6, 2023 for the both the PC and Xbox Series X. The Xbox Series X preload is live now, while the PC one will show up on August 30, 2023.

In October, Mobage Town operator, DeNA, announced that they would be acquiring iPhone developer, Ngmoco and co-developing a social network for mobiles with them. Today, they revealed that they’re naming this service simply “Mobage.”

In Japan, Mobage Town is a mobile phone-based service for free-to-play games with pay-to-purchase items, and is home to several notable mobile games such as Little King’s Story, Monster Hunter Diary Mobile, Persona 3 Social, Shenmue Town and an port of Muramasa: The Demon Blade.

DeNA have shared a private beta of their Open Mobage Smartphone development kits with 50 developers globally, including well-known companies like Hudson, Square Enix and Take-Two, which will allow them to monetize the Mobage service, as well as Ngmoco’s Plus+ social-networking platform.

Complementing the devkit will be Ngmoco’s “ngCore” technology, which will allow publishers to deploy Mobage titles across several platforms, such as iPhone, iPod, Android and even the web, with what DeNA claim will be minimum modifications.

Currently, Samsung are working with DeNA to offer Mobage on their Android devices globally in several months, which DeNA believe will help accelerate the service’s global growth.
