Kadokawa announced that it will close down the mobile game Re:Zero Witch's Re:surrection on May 30, 2025, at 2pm JST. This sudden end-of-service announcement also means that the free-to-play RPG based on the light novel and anime franchise did not last for even a whole year.

The company initially set Summer 2024 as the launch window for the Re:Zero mobile game. It eventually released the title within the window on August 26, 2024. That means the game is still barely seven months old when Kadokawa decided to pull the plug. After the shutdown in late May 2025, it will have a total lifespan of around just nine months.

Kadokawa has also immediately ceased sales for the in-game gem currency. While existing players can still use the gems, those who have a valid Japanese bank and residence address will be able to apply for refunds of unused paid gems from the end-of-service date of May 30, 2025, until August 31, 2025.

In addition, Kadokawa published a new roap detailing the game's events until the shutdown day. It will still hold time-limited events and gacha banners at regular intervals. However, all of the remaining events will be reruns. The company will also provide ten gacha tickets to players who still access the game daily despite the end-of-service announcement.

Re:Zero Witch's Re:surrection is available on Android and iOS mobile devices until May 30, 2025. Kadokawa will then close refund applications while taking down the Re:Zero mobile game for good on August 31, 2025. The anime is streaming on Crunchyroll, and Yen Press handles the light novel.

Kadokawa announced a release window for Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World: Witch's Re:surrection, and the new mobile game will be available in Summer 2024. It is only confirmed for Japan at the moment. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]

The company has also published some of the gameplay features for the new mobile game on its official website. Witch's Re:surrection will play like a regular RPG where the player will control the party leader to traverse fields while clearing quests and fighting monsters in turn-based battles.

The mobile RPG will have the following eight main party ; each having their own specialty roles. Kadokawa also teased that it will add many other characters as ing characters.

1. Subaru - Defensive tank
2. Emilia - Attacker with healing capabilities
3. Rem - Dedicated healer
4. Ram - Magic er with ally buff and enemy debuff spells
5. Wilhelm - Sword-wielding physical attacker
6. Crusch - All-around (physical & magical) attacker
7. Julius - Swordfighter who focuses on
8. Garfiel - Tank who can also heal allies

The renowned Japanese singer Konomi Suzuki will perform the game's theme song, which is titled "Resurrection." Kadokawa has ed a new trailer featuring the theme song on YouTube:

Kadokawa revealed the first teaser trailer for Witch's Re:surrection in March 2023. It took more than a year since then until the company confirmed a release window for the new mobile game.

Good Smile Company announced it will be selling the Sega S-Fire Re:Zero Emilia and Ram figures. Both are a part of a line that involves characters from the series carrying versions of themselves as children. Both are apparently heading to Japan in October 2023. They’ll then show up in North America in Q4 2023. Each one will be ¥22,000/$154.99.

Both Emilia and Ram are 1/7th scale figures. Emilia is slightly taller, as she’s about 240mm, which is about 9 and a half inches. Ram stands at 230mm, and that makes her about nine inches tall. Each one features outfits inspired by their adult selves in the series for the older versions of the character, while the child versions of Emilia and Ram wear outfits they’d worn as kids in Re:Zero.

These are the second and third Re:Zero figures in this series, as Rem appeared ahead of Emilia and Ram. She'll also appear in stores ahead of both. She's expected to show up in Japan in September 2023 and North America in November 2023.
