HoYoVerse announced another way to get the Genshin Impact Wings of Delicacies Wind Glider cosmetic item, which originally debuted at KFC in China, will now be distributed via Razer Gold. The official site doesn’t show it or details about how to claim it yet, but the promotion starts on February 12, 2025. It will then run through March 25, 2025.

Here’s how it will work this time. Someone would need to use their Razer Gold digital wallet to make a purchase for Genshin Impact. When they would, they would get the promotional items. The Wings of Delicacies are mentioned and shown there. However, the image in the ad also showed Mora currency, the Selva Salad that is a World Quest reward, and the Minty Fruit Tea recipe originally given out via an in-game letter in our mailboxes in April 2023.

The Genshin Impact Wings of Delicacies we’ll get via Razer Gold didn’t just appear via KFC in China, as the Wind Glider cosmetic showed up as a reward at multiple restaurants and stores ahead of this release. It also ended up being doled out during a Japanese KFC promotion, which starred a special take on Colonel Sanders, and a US event with McDonald’s.

In the meantime, there’s another Razer Gold event tied to the game just ending. The 5.3 Phase 2 offer provided 10% Bonus Gold until February 11, 2025. That only applied if you bought, at the very minimum, a 980 + 110 Genesis Crystals bundle. When you’d check out, you’d need to use the AC10 coupon.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices, and the Wings of Delicacies Wind Glider cosmetic shows up via Razer Gold on February 12, 2025.

Razer Kuromi Collab

Razer has announced a collaboration with Sanrio that will result in a new collection of Kuromi themed accessories. The collection will drop on January 9, 2025.

The Razer Kuromi collection was teased by the company via their social media s, although they’re keeping quiet about what the collection will contain. However, it’s likely that the collection will contain the same items as those released in China in August 2024. These items includes a headset featuring Kuromi’s ears, a mouse and keyboard (with wrist rest), mouse pad and speaker. The announcement for the Chinese release did ask what other countries they should launch the collection in, so it’s likely the latest announcement is gearing towards a global release. The collection is set to drop on January 9, 2025 at 9am PT.

The Kuromi collection isn’t the first collaboration with Sanrio that Razer have worked on. A Hello Kitty collection was also released via their website. The Hello Kitty collection contained similar items, including a headset, keyboard and mouse pad, but instead of a speaker, they released a gaming chair.

Razer has been producing a range of character-based headsets and accessories for other properties too. A Pokemon headset based on Gengar was released in China in October 2024. Similar to the Kuromi collection, the Chinese release was timed with a social media post asking fans what other countries they’d like the headset to be released in.

The Kuromi collection will appear on the Razer website at 9am PT on January 9, 2025.

pokemon razer gengar headset

Razer revealed the Pokemon Gengar model of its Razer Kraken Kitty V2 headset on October 16, 2024. However, the product is still limited to China. [Thanks, Inside Games!]

The announcement Tweet in question asked where it should sell the Gengar headset next. So there’s a chance that those outside of China will be able to get their hands on it as well. The headset is a modified version of the Kraken Kitty V2, featuring differently-shaped ears, a dark purple color scheme, and the tufts of fur that are between Gengar’s ears. Unlike the normal Kraken Kitty headset, there aren’t any RGB lights in the ears. This decision is likely so that the headset better resembles the Pokemon.

Back in July 2024, Razer released several Gengar PC accessories in China. There was a mouse, a mat, keycaps, and a keyboard wrist rest. The headset would complete the collection for any Gengar fan.

This isn’t the first time that Razer has sold Pokemon merchandise and made it exclusive to China. In the past, it released Orochi V2 gaming mice featuring Gengar, Charizard, Sylveon, and Jigglypuff. These were limited to China as well, though they appeared in countries like Malaysia as well.

The Pokemon Gengar headset from Razer is available in China. It’s unknown if Razer plans to sell it outside of the country.

2019-05-01_073511

It all started five years ago when Facebook page “Give us the Razer Toaster” asked Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan in an interview if they could make a toaster, which was kind of a running gag, but after years of persistence it is finally happening.

When the Facebook group first asked about a possible Razer Toaster, Tan made the proposition that Razer will make a toaster if the group could reach a million likes on Facebook. Tan promised at the time that if they do make a toaster, they would design it like any other Razer product with all the effort to make it into the “ultimate toaster.”

It’s been several years since then and the page currently sits at 45,000 likes, but the group made another deal with Tan that would count a fan tattoo of a Razer Toaster counting towards 100,000 likes. They managed to get 12 fans with Razer Toaster tattoos to sur the goal of 1 million.

Here’s a message from Razer CEO, Min-Liang Tan:

“Alright - I didn't think these guys were going to make it - but they did. It was to hit 1M likes and with each Razer Toaster tattoo being equivalent to 100K likes each....and they now have 12 Razer Toaster tattoos.

Well....what can I say. I've just officially liked their page - and I'm going to put together my team of designers and engineers. It will take a few years - but I'll be sure to share the progress - and make it a community affair.

A Razer Toaster - For Razer Toaster Lovers. By Razer Toaster Lovers.”

Razer Toaster is currently in production for kitchens and dining room tables. It is expected to release in a few years.

At this year’s CES, Razer wowed the audience with a product that once again has it stepping out of its comfort zone and into something entirely new, as if shocking the world with their Razer Blade gaming laptop or trying to muscle in on the voIP scene with their free Razer Comms wasn’t enough.

They’ve now announced the Razer Nabu, a smartband wearable that has nothing to do with gaming at all. Just check out the video, which mentions gaming a grand total of zero times (unless you count the lady playing on her laptop).

Instead, it looks like Razer’s CEO Min-Liang Tan wants to snag a piece of the growing smart-wearables marketplace while it’s still nascent. The growth of it in the past year or two, with plenty of notables such as FitBit or Pebble, might have made it seem a good time.

The Nabu smartband in trademark Razer jet black and neon green though is hoping to go one step further. By pairing itself with your phone, the band will send notifications when you’ve got a phone call, email and so forth. Unlike other such wearables however, there’s both a public and private “face” for the band. So if you’re in the middle of a talk, you can glance to the wristband to see there’s a message and ignore that—incredibly handy when I’m interviewing and my phone goes off in my pocket—on your public face.

If you need a little more information, you can flip over to your wrist to see the private side, which gives you a little more information such as who’s calling or what the message is.

If you want to ignore it, you can just shake your wrist to cancel the call or dismiss the message, which is awesome enough and evades the staring, accusatory eyes of people going “Don’t you want to take that?” That having been said, if that were all it was doing, well, Razer would probably be amongst the rest of the pack, really. Instead, it one ups by adding in the kitchen sink of what everyone else is doing. Steps taken? Sleep data? Band-to-band NFC communications? The ability to choose what you want tracked? Nabu is promising to do it all and more, including opening up its backend platform for third-party developers to come in as well.

This is big news mostly because, well, here’s a gaming company, that makes gaming products, and it’s stepping out into a new field (arguably, still well within its realms of peripherals) and competing with the people who’ve gone before and are now ahead of them. It’ll be interesting to see just how this plays out, if nothing else, in the race ahead for more smart wearables.

The Razer Nabu is set to go on sale late quarter 1 this year, with price to be determined. At the same time, they also announced Project Christine, a new way of looking at building your computer by turning it into a modular plug-and-play system.
