There’s a new update on Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, and this one has to do with who is making it. When it was announced, Ubisoft said its two studios in India, Ubisoft Mumbai and Ubisoft Pune, would be leading the charge. Now, it changed hands. The new studio in charge of its development is Ubisoft Montreal.

The development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will now be led by Ubisoft Montreal, the very birth place of the epic Sands of Time trilogy.

This decision is an important step and the team, building upon the work achieved by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, will now take the time they need to regroup on the scope of the game to deliver you the best experience for this remake of an all-time classic, when it’s ready.

We want to thank you for your continuous and patience throughout the development. Rest assured, that we will update you on the progress in a future update.

Ubisoft Montreal’s been making games since being founded in 1997. In the past, it worked on multiple Prince of Persia games. Its first was actually The Sands of Time in 2003. It also worked on Warrior Within, The Two Thrones, the 2008 reboot, and The Forgotten Sands.

There is no update on a Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake release date. At one point, it had a March 2021 release date. It ended up delayed. The last delay announcement and update suggested it could end up slipping into 2023.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is in development for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The original game is available on the Game Boy Advance, Game Cube, PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC.

Ubisoft announced that the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake has been delayed once again. The title is now expected to release sometime between April 1, 2022 and March 31, 2023.

Originally announced in September 2020 and slated for a January 2021 release, the title was then bumped to March 2021. Prior to the planned release date, Ubisoft announced that more time would be needed to give the game more polish, and the release date for Prince of Persia: Sands of Time was left unspecified.

The development team also released a brief statement on social media after the latest Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake delay announcement. It reassured people that development is still very much underway.

Axio's Stephen Totilo offered additional potential details.

The remake is being developed by Indian studios Ubisoft Mumbai and Ubisoft Pune. Upon release, the title will feature new character models, improved graphics, and re-recorded voice performances. for the announcement trailer involved comments suggesting the graphics seemed outdated. The developers responded that the look of the game is an intentional choice that was made to help the title stand out.

It is now expected to release for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One during the fiscal year ending in March 2023. The original title was released in 2003 on the Game Boy Advance, Game Cube, PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC.

When it comes to new games, January 2021 just got a little less crowded. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time won’t appear exactly as planned. When Ubisoft announced the Prince of Persia remake at its September 2020 Ubisoft Forward, it said people would be able to play it on January 21, 2021. This Prince of Persia remake is one we’ve sort of known about for a while. First, there was a Guatamalan store leak. Then, Ubisoft’s Uplay itself shared art from the game ahead of its announcement. When it debuts, it will have new character models, improved graphics, and rerecorded performances.

A Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is on the way. Leaked through a display on a Ubisoft storefront and hinted at by Guatamala's MAX online storefront, the game has been officially been announced. It is in development and will launch on January 21, 2021.

Ubisoft forward shared a bit of what the Remake will have to offer. This includes a look at gameplay, new character models, voice acting, and its environment design. Character models have been up-scaled and performances have been re-recorded to make use of motion capture technology.

The Prince of Persia Remake will be handled by a Ubisoft studio situated in India. In the Ubisoft Forward presentation the developers themselves discussed how this project would be a labor of love, and they were excited to be handling the remaster of such an iconic game. The original voice actors have also been brought back to reprise their roles. This will also be the first remake from Ubisoft.

Prince of Persia Remake will be available on January 21, 2021 for the PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. The price displayed at the Ubisoft shop indicates that the remaster will cost $39.99.

Well, it looks even more like the possible Prince of Persia remake leak could be real. This time, it’s Ubisoft itself that spilled the beans. Uplay ended up having some Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake banners appear on the storefront. They’ve since been pulled, naturally, but the images were grabbed before they disappeared. First, here is a better look at the two banners from Resetera. Each one has an official logo and looks at characters from the game.

This seems to fall in line with some past rumors and leaks regarding the possible game. MAX, a store in Guatamala, had Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 product pages up for a November 2020 Prince of Persia collection. Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier suggested it was another Ubisoft leak via distributor. A part of that collection could have been the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake, which had been the subject of a Reddit rumor in March 2020.

At the moment, the only confirmed Prince of Persia game-related announcements have been a new trailer for the Dagger of Time VR escape room experience and the For Honor event. However, there is an Ubisoft Forward September 10, 2020 presentation that could reveal some new titles.
