Pragmata resurfaced during the June 2025 State of Play with a new trailer and release window. It will now come to the PS5 in 2026. The new video showcased gameplay footage and the main character working alongside the AI Diana. 

Things began with a mysterious Delphi Corporation being mentioned. It’s then that the player character meets Diana. He takes her with him, with her often holding on to his back as they platform around areas. However, when they encounter an enemy, the two learn she can help him fight and attack. The YouTube description also noted it will be an action and strategy game.

It’s been quite some time since Capcom shared a Pragmata update. It first came up in 2020. There was even an extended trailer at one point. It had a 2022 release window, but delays kept pushing it back. For a while, we hadn't heard anything at all.

Pragmata will come to the PS5 in 2026. Capcom will release more details throughout 2025 leading up to the game's eventual release.

Capcom revealed a new short gameplay trailer for Pragmata during the latest Capcom Showcase 2023, as well as indefinitely delayed the new action-adventure IP. The long-awaited dystopian sci-fi game is currently in development, and it will appear for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC.

Pragmata was initially announced during the PlayStation 5 reveal event in 2020, where it was announced to come out for then next generation platforms sometime in 2022. In November 2021, Capcom would later announce through a short teaser that its new sci-fi IP would be delayed, and the 2022 release date for Pragmata was moved to 2023.

The original 2020 reveal trailer was very vague, and it showed an astronaut walking through a desolate Times Square in New York City, where they meet a robotic cat and a mysterious blonde girl. The world quickly shifts, and the characters are then seen trying to avoid a falling satellite, after which they appear on the surface of the Earth’s moon.

Pragmata will come out for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and it is currently under development. Its release date has been indefinitely postponed.

Fans looking forward to Capcom's planned sci-fi adventure Pragmata will have to settle in for a long wait as it is officially delayed to a 2023 launch window. This confirmation comes from a tweet by the official Pragmata Twitter .

The tweet included a message announcing the delay from the Pragmata development team, as well as an apologetic teaser trailer.

The Pragmata delay teaser trailer features an unnamed blonde girl. In it, she holds up an apparently hand-drawn sign that reads "2022 -> 2023, Sorry :( "

The new artwork also shows the girl wearing the blue coat she was wearing in the game's 2020 announcement trailer. Behind her is a futuristic machine. Above her hangs a pillar marked with "1:1 GDLIIATNCAH myosotis," that extends multicolored strips of material towards the floor. Interestingly, the Forget-Me-Not flower is part of the myosotis genus. What this could mean for Pragmata is unclear. The official PlayStation page for the game says that players will "travel to a dystopian near future and explore a unique lunar world."

A delay to Pragmata may have been coming for some time. In January 2021 Eurogamer reported that the fine print of a PlayStation 5 trailer shown off at the 2021 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) indicated Pragmata having a 2023 launch window instead of the previous official figure of 2022. Now Capcom itself has confirmed that window explicitly.

Pragmata is in development and scheduled for release in 2023 for PC, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5.

Sony’s CES 2021 Digital Press Event has come and gone, and with it came an unexpected number of release windows. During the presentation, which appeared on the Sony Square website, there was actually a bit of insight into when people can expect certain big name games. To be specific, around the 10 minute mark the PlayStation 5 was discussed, and with it came Project Athia, Ghostwire Tokyo, and Pragmata release windows.

Here is the full list of all of the PS5 game release windows that appeared at the bottom of the Sony CES 2021 presentation. At the 10:38 mark following a brief collection of gameplay snippets from both immediately available and titles, the expected launch windows were offered in the fine print.

Of the PS5 games shown, Hitman 3 is the next one to appear. It will be available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Google Stadia, and PC via Epic Games Store on January 20, 2021.

The PlayStation 5 game reveal event was one filled with footage of new and old games. Among them was Capcom’s next title, Pragmata. There weren’t too many details revealed about it at the time. We knew it would ray-tracing technology and appear on platforms other than the PS5, but its segment was mainly about showing off the first Pragmata trailer. Now, a day later, the publisher has shared a second, slightly longer look at the game.

Much of this additional footage comes at the beginning of the extended trailer. We have a better look at the empty and abandoned city from various angles. In the original footage, it picked things up at about the 20 second mark. As for the rest of the apparent 40 seconds, it seems like there might be some additional footage during the segment where the agent is dealing with the rogue satellite and sending it into orbit.

Pragmata will come to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2022. This might be the last we see of it for a little while, though. Capcom said it won’t talk more about it until 2021, so there might not be another new Pragmata trailer until next year.

Now that Capcom’s Pragmata game has officially been announced and we aren’t just relying on some trademarked name, the company has been a bit more forthcoming with showing it off. For example, we now have an array of screenshots to look at. Unfortunate, it could be a while before anyone gets to know more about the project. Capcom Unity noted that the company won’t be sharing additional information about the in-development project until 2021.

We’re very eager to show more, but… that’s all we have for now. We’ll be sharing additional information on Pragmata in 2021.

On the plus side, there is a lot to tide people over. Capcom has shared 17 screenshots from the game. They’re all stills taken from the announcement trailer that appeared during Sony’s June 2020 PlayStation 5 event. Still, having the Pragmata images like this might help people pick up on certain details about the player character, the mysterious young girl, and their life “in a dystopian near-future on Earth’s moon.”

Two Capcom games were announced during the June 2020 PlayStation 5 event. While one was the next Resident Evil, the other is an entirely new IP. Pragmata will be heading to the PlayStation 5 and other platforms in 2022.

The first Pragmata trailer was rather vague. It started off with a person in some sort of space suit, though we also see a young girl and a digital cat. From there, we see the world change around them, until the two eventually appear on the moon.

This is the first reveal of the game, but not the first we've heard of it. As AllGamesDelta noted and Daniel "ZhugeEX" Ahmad shared, a trademark was filed for it back in February 2020.

As a fun aside, the Capcom Pragmata announcement brought out Twitter parody KazHiraiCEO. While the was making multiple comments during the event, it referenced the long lost Deep Down when discussing this title.

People will be able to play Pragmata on the PlayStation 5 in 2022. It will also appear on the Xbox Series X, according to an announcement from Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg. A PC version is on the way as well.
