Before Summon Night Flight Plan was busy with another strategy RPG series called Black/Matrix. In this world demons, angels, and humans are caught up in a three way war.

Black/Matrix 00 is the last and chronologically the first game in the series so you’re not missing out on much if you start here. The game was originally called Black/Matrix 0 on the Game Boy Advance, which was ported to the PS1 with added voice acting. That’s the version on Japan’s PlayStation Store now.

Black/Matrix 00 costs 600 yen ($7) just like this week’s other new able games, Family Chess and Sentimental Graffiti. All three games are PlayStation 3 and PSP compatible.

Two more TurboGrafx-16 games made the transition to PSN. Bonk 3: Bonk’s Big Adventure and Kung Fu are available digitally as PlayStation Archives.

Bonk 3 is one of the rarer games in the PC Genjin series. Now you can get the original version where Bonk transforms into a cavewoman for 600 yen ($6.50). The co-op mode works too, but only if you play Bonk 3 on a PlayStation 3.

Alternatively, you can get The Kung Fu aka China Warrior outside of Japan, but do you really want that over Bonk?

Capcom boosts Sony's game archives section with a digital re-release of Mega Man 2.

But, this isn't just any version of Mega Man 2! This is the Complete Works edition of Mega Man 2 which features a tip filled Navi mode and a hidden boss rush.

Like the PlayStation Archives release of Mega Man, Mega Man 2: Dr. Wily's Puzzle costs 600 yen ($6.50) on Japan's PlayStation Store. Side Pocket 3, a billiards game from Hamster, is also available today.

The TurboGrafx-16 classic Super Star Soldier is now available on the PlayStation Store. You can shoot through the game's eight levels on your PlayStation 3 or PSP since game archives titles work with both systems.

Hudson started releasing TurboGrafx-16 games on the PlayStation Store last month. Super Star Soldier is the first title to arrive after the four game launch line up.

Currently, PlayStation compatible TurboGrafx-16 s are only available in Japan's PlayStation Store, but Hudson plans to roll out the program in North America in the future.

One of Square Enix's best PsOne games is now available on the PlayStation Store in Japan. You can purchase Vagrant Story now for 600 yen ($6.25).

Vagrant Story follows Ashley Riot, a Riskbreaker, who explores the ruined city of Lea Monde. The game uses a third person perspective and fights take place in real time. In combat players can target specific limbs, which can debilitate a foe if damaged enough.

In addition to Vagrant Story, Rockman (yeah, the PlayStation port of the NES game) and Suiko Enbu, an old Data East fighting game are also on the PlayStation Store.

So far only contest winners have been able to play Mega Man -- the very first one on their PlayStation 3s and PSPs. That's going to change on August 12.

Capcom will re-release Rockman: Perfect Works, a PsOne era enhanced port of Rockman 1 on PlayStation Network for 600 yen ($6.50). No plans have been announced for other Rockman Perfect Works re-releases, but it's easy to imagine Capcom ing Mega Man II-VI in the future.

PlayStation archives fans can Tall Twins Tower, a puzzle game from Hamster, while waiting for Mega Man. It's this week's only PlayStation Archives release.

Square Enix, continuing their PlayStation Network , ed Final Fantasy -- the very first one as a able PsOne game. However, this isn't the original Final Fantasy available on the Virtual Console.

The Final Fantasy on Japan's PlayStation Store is the PsOne remake which features graphics based off the Wonderswan version, a FMV intro, and an art gallery. Features in the GBA version, Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls, like the Soul of Chaos dungeon and the Labyrinth of Time created for the PSP version are not in this port.

Final Fantasy and Farland Saga: Toki no Michishirube are now available for the standard game archives price of 600 yen ($6) each. Both able games are playable on PlayStation 3 and PSP.

This release suggests Final Fantasy II, IV, V, and VI, which were re-released with video intros and bonus features like bestiaries will arrive on PlayStation Network in the future too.

Perhaps, Square Enix will unbundle their two game compilations Final Fantasy Anthology (FFV and FFVI), Final Fantasy Chronicles (FFIV and Chrono Trigger), and Final Fantasy Origins (FF1 and FFII) and re-release each vintage Final Fantasy game as a PlayStation Classic in North America.

Looks like Wild Arms 2 is following in the footsteps of Metal Gear Solid. The PsOne game was re-rated by the ESRB as a PlayStation 3 and PSP game, a good sign it's going to pop up as a able PlayStation Archives title (thanks for the tip Joel!!).

Additional PlayStation Classics are always welcome, but there are so many other awesome PsOne and PSP RPGs I doubt I'll play Wild Arms 2 again. Will you give Wild Arms 2 a second shot?

Continuing their trend of releasing Final Fantasy games as PlayStation Archive s Square Enix put Final Fantasy Tactics online. Not Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions, the original PsOne game.

If you have a Japanese you can play Final Fantasy Tactics on your PlayStation 3 and PSP with less load times. Like Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy Tactics is sold as a game for 1,000 yen ($10).

GameArts, eager to prepare the world for Grandia Online made, the original Grandia a able PsOne game. If you have a Japanese PlayStation Network fire it up and fight the Garlyle Forces on your PSP.

Grandia isn't the only RPG this week. Lunatic Dawn Odyssey, Langrisser I & II, and Tilk which looks like an RPG with mermaids or aquatic people are your other choices. Those three games won't come out anywhere else either since they were only released in Japan.

Tons of Square Enix games are part of Japan's PlayStation Archives collection, but none of them have the words "Final Fantasy". Today, Final Fantasy VII International s the party.

Don't be fooled by the "international" subtitle. This game is completely in Japanese. The international moniker was added since this version of Final Fantasy VII includes extra features like the bonus Weapon bosses and a scene explaining Zack's relationship to Cloud found in the English version of Final Fantasy VII.

The 1712MB able game works on a PS3 and PSP so you can play Final Fantasy VII on the road if you pay 1,500 yen ($15). Most PlayStation Archives games cost around 600 yen ($6), but Square Enix knows they can charge whatever they want for Final Fantasy VII and it will still sell.

With the addition of Front Mission 3 to Japan's PlayStation Archives all of Square Enix's PsOne Front Mission games are in one place. Each one costs 600 yen ($6). Front Mission 3 was the only one that got released internationally. Since it's a able game now I wouldn't expect a remake of it anytime soon, but it would be nice if Square Enix gave it a second chance on the domestic PlayStation Store.

Other games this week include mecha strategy RPG Assault Suits Valken 2 and gals fighter Advance Variable Geo. This week's obscure game is Carnage Heart EZ, a tweaked version of Carnage Heart which SCEA picked up for North America. Carnage Heart is a robot fighting game, but you can't directly control your robot. Before battle players design and program Overkill Engines by setting chips on a game board. Huh, three out of four games are mecha titles. Sony should have deemed this giant robot week in Japan.

Don't count on a Chocobo Racing remake anytime soon. Square Enix just put Chocobo Racing in Sony's able PlayStation Archives in Japan. Released during a wave of kart games Chocobo Racing's claim to fame was really the license. Featherless characters like Aya Brea from Parasite Eve make an appearance in Chocobo Racing too

Also out this week is Lunar Wing, a dating sim RPG, and Kula Quest which Europe already has on their PlayStation Store.

I can't imagine it went to well since Chaos Break: Episode from Chaos Heat never got a second episode. The title, scheduled for Japan's PlayStation Archives this week, traps Mituki in a laboratory filled with bio-monsters. Mituki also looks kind of familiar... sort of like a famous Capcom character in another survival horror series. Huh. I wonder where Taito got their inspiration for Chaos Break from. I never played it, but if it has a ridiculous parody of Nemesis I'll pay 600 yen ($7) to check it out.

The other titles coming out this week are: Farland Story: Yottsu no Fuuin, Soumatou (known as Deception III here), and Tantei Jinguuji Saburo: Touka ga Kienu Mani. Slim pickings for most importers, but as usual Japan is getting more PlayStation Archives while we're waiting for stuff already rated by the ESRB.
