Pre-orders for the FFXIII Play Arts Shin figure of Lightning are now available worldwide. The figure costs 23,760 yen (~$166.39) or €219.99 in Europe, and it can be found on the AmiAmi online store or the Square Enix EU storefront.

While the Square Enix NA store has a listing for the new Lightning figure for $219.99, at the time of writing it appears as sold out and temporarily unavailable. However, it is unclear if this is because pre-orders are still not up in North America. As a reminder, AmiAmi offers international shipping. The figure is set to release outside of Japan on January 2026.

The figure features Final Fantasy XIII protagonist Lightning, and it includes a variety of hand parts to pose her freely. It also includes her signature Blazefire Saber in both sword mode and gun mode. You can check out the figure in more detail here:

The FFXIII Lightning figure is the third in Square Enix’s new Play Arts Shin line, and it follows a figure of Noctis from Final Fantasy XV, and one of Vincent Valentine from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Square Enix announced the Lightning figure back in mid-March 2025, and it also opened pre-orders for it in Japan on the same day.

Square Enix has revealed a new action figure line named Play Arts Shin, and Vincent Valentine will be the first character in the lineup. The company will specifically use Vincent's appearance in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth for this new action figure.

The new Play Arts Shin brand, derived from the kanji character that can be translated to "Real" or "True," will mark a new evolution in Square Enix's Play Arts action figure series. The company launched the overall series with an action figure of Final Fantasy X-2's Yuna in 2003.

Square Enix then upgraded the line to Play Arts Kai, which features the kanji character that means "Revised." Some of the more recent examples of these figures are Final Fantasy VII Rebirth's Yuffie, Aerith, and Elena, which the company will release in 2025.

This announcement was freshly made on the Square Enix Official Goods X . The company has still yet to publish a listing for the product on its Japanese e-Store website as of the reveal.

The Square Enix Store has added two new figures of Tifa in her cheongsam dress from FFVII Remake. One figure is part of the poseable Play Arts Kai figure line, while the second is a seated static figure that is part of the Static Arts line. As of writing, both figures are available for pre-order via the Japanese Square Enix Store. Each figure will cost ¥19,580 (about $141) and will release on March 25, 2023.

The Static Arts Tifa figure features the character sitting on a red cushioned chair. The figure has Tifa resting her chin on her hand, her dress drooped over her legs as she looks slightly upwards. It boasts high attention to detail and fabric textures, recreating her appearance from FFVII Remake as closely as possible.

On the other hand, the Play Arts Kai figure allows owners to pose the figure however they wish. Furthermore, it also comes with an interchangeable face part and several hand parts. The dress below the hips is also a separate part from the torso, allowing for better mobility and posing.

The cheongsam-inspired dress is one of the three possible dresses that Tifa can wear in Final Fantasy VII Remake, based on the Cloud's choices. This one is unlocked by Cloud saying a "sporty" look suits Tifa best in Chapter 3. Her other iconic purple dress (the "Mature" option) is also available as Static and Play Arts Kai figures. However, she has not yet appeared in her third, "Exotic" kimono-style dress.

Both Tifa cheongsam dress figures are available for pre-order via the Japanese Square Enix Store. Each figure will cost ¥19,580 (about $141) and will release on March 25, 2023.

Lightning already has three Play Arts action figures and she’s getting one more with the new Dissidia Final Fantasy version Play Arts Kai figure that is now available for pre-order for a January 2018 release.

The pre—painted PVC figure comes with Blaze Edge (sword mode), Blaze Edge (gun mode), three optional hands, and the Play Arts Kai Base. It measures W95mm x D46mm x H250mm and is going for 15,984 yen MSRP.

The Dissidia Final Fantasy Play Arts Kai Lightning figure is expected to release in January 2018. Pre-orders are now available over at amiami (11,300 yen) and Amazon Japan (12,195 yen).

Final Fantasy XV already got Play Arts Kai figures for Noctis, Prompto, Ignis, and Gladio, but it looks like we’re getting one for the head mechanic, Cindy Aurum.

The image comes from Final Fantasy XV’s official Japanese Twitter , that says they’ve managed to get a top secret photo of the Cindy figure, sot hey hope fans of “the granddaughter” will enjoy checking it out.

Final Fantasy XV is available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. We’ll provide more updates and a closer look at the Cindy figure when it becomes available.

Square Enix has unveiled a black and white paint variant of the Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice Play Arts Kai Superman figure today, ahead of its coming debut at New York Comic Con in October. The figure will be sold at Square Enix’s NYCC booth, but it is also now available for pre-order on the Square Enix Online Store.

The Superman figure compliments the Batman variant sold last month at Comic-Con International: San Diego. Only 1,000 units of each figure have been made, and they are being sold for $149.99 each. See images of both collector’s items in the gallery below.

Square Enix’s Variant Play Arts Kai Batman figurine designed by Tetsuya Nomura will be available this July, the company has announced. The figurine is up for pre-order now at stores such as AmiAmi and Rakuten.

The Tetsuya Nomura Batman’s dimensions are approximately W317 x D176 x H306mm. The package includes the following parts:

• Main figure
• Base
• Optional arm parts x2
• Optional side arms x2
• Optional thigh parts x2
• Optional leg parts x6
• Optional hand parts x2

Last year, Nomura revealed to Siliconera that the concept for his Batman figurine came from a cancelled videogame project at Square Enix that didn’t pan out. Nomura also suggested that the design for the Batman figurine predates the design of the Keyblade armour in Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep and actually influenced those designs.

“Actually, to be honest, the project that never got off the ground was done before Kingdom Hearts was conceived,” Nomura said to us. “It might be the opposite—the design from that early project influenced Kingdom Hearts and armor design in that series.”
