At the end of March 2025, we learned that the PC version of Persona 5: The Phantom X would show up on Steam, and now the product page is live with even more information. However, this is still for the Chinese version of the Persona 5 spin-off, so those of us in other regions would still need to wait for a localization and global release. [Thanks, P5X News and Info!]

The new details available on the page are still helpful. For example, the Steam page for Persona 5: The Phantom X still only has a tentative “coming soon” release window. There’s no set launch yet. However, there are two trailers to watch. One is purely cinematic and also acts as something of a lyric music video for Lyn Inaizumi’s “Show Stealer.” That’s one of the theme songs for the game. (She’s known for performing the Persona 5 themes as well.) The other trailer focuses on Mayumi Hashimoto, one of the characters you can add to your team. The listing also confirmed that only Simplified Chinese audio, subtitles, and UI are present, though Japanese voice acting will be there too. 

The minimum and recommended Persona 5: The Phantom X PC system requirements are also present on Steam. This gives us an idea of what we’ll need, as those will be universal.

Perfect World Games has released a trailer for Masaki Ashiya, who is a new 5-star character in Persona 5: The Phantom X. You can watch his trailer on Bilibili.

In real life, Ashiya is a student who likes to spend his time with flowers and works at a florist. Once he’s in the Metaverse though, he becomes Cherish, who looks like a typical prince or knight from a fairy tale. A common sentiment in the comments on the Persona 5: The Phantom X Masaki Ashiya trailer via Bilibili is, “Bro, you’re so cool,” so his knightly ways have already stolen the hearts of the fans. His Persona II is Amalthea, who is the foster mother of Zeus in Greek mythology. You can check out a more in-depth look at his kit in this video as well.

Ashiya’s Chinese voice actor is Lin Jing. Jing’s previous roles include Heizou in Genshin Impact, Wise in Zenless Zone Zero, and Zheng Zha in Terror Infinity. In Japanese, Takafumi Maeuchi voices Ashiya. Maeuchi is up and coming voice actor with minor roles in properties like Mashle: Magic and Muscles, Shangri-La Frontier, and Lost Judgment.

Persona 5: The Phantom X is readily available on mobile devices and PC in South Korea, Taiwan, and China. A global version is in the works, and a closed beta test is scheduled in Japan.

Atlus revealed that Persona 5: The Phantom X will feature blood in the game’s Persona awakening scenes outside of China. The awakening scene for P5X protagonist Wonder has been shown to include blood in the new Japanese version of the game.

As depicted by X (formerly Twitter) @chewingsoul and YouTube channel Tenro, the Tokyo Game Show 2024 Sega and Atlus booth featured various videos and trailers for the Japanese version of the long-awaited Persona 5: The Phantom X. One of the videos shown during the first two TGS business days includes a scene depicting Wonder summoning his Persona for the first time in the game.

In the original South Korean, Taiwanese, and Chinese release versions of the game, the aforementioned awakening scene didn’t include blood. Meanwhile, the newly unveiled Japanese version of the game will feature blood in the awakening scene, in a similar fashion to the original Persona 5 awakening scenes.

Persona 5: The Phantom X is now available on PC, Android, and iOS mobile devices in South Korea, Taiwan, and China. The game will appear in Japan, where a new Closed Beta Test is scheduled to appear prior to its release. Pre-registrations for the CBT close on October 6, 2024.

As part of a recent media briefing prior to TGS 2024, Atlus announced that a closed beta test for Persona 5: The Phantom X will be coming to Japan. Pre-registrations for the beta are now open until October 6, 2024, and the test will be available on Android and iOS devices as well as PC via Steam. [Thanks, Game Watch!]

Atlus also revealed that players pre-ing for the Persona 5: The Phantom X CBT will opt-in to receive 10 gacha tickets if the number of pre-registrations reaches at least 50,000 s. Additionally, Persona 5: The Phantom X will be featured in Tokyo Game Show 2024 between September 26-29, 2024.

Some novelty items will be offered as gifts in limited numbers for those attending and trying the demo at the shared Sega and Atlus TGS 2024 booth. Participants who pre- to try the P5X demo will get a themed notepad, while completing the demo will get a fan shaped like the in-game cut ins.

A Japanese Persona 5: The Phantom X presentation will appear ahead of TGS 2024 on September 25, 2024. Additionally, the X (formerly Twitter) Japanese official for the game is now up and running.

At the time of writing, it is unclear what the contents of the presentation will be and in which platform it will be available. More information will appear in the P5X Japanese X (Twitter) . Aside from the aforementioned presentation, Persona 5: The Phantom X will be featured at TGS 2024 with a playable hands-on version of the game, as well as a photo op. The test version of P5X will be available at the Sega and Atlus booth area of Tokyo Game Show 2024.

In late July 2024, Sega ed a Japanese p5x.jp domain that hinted at the intentions of Sega and Perfect World to release Persona 5: The Phantom X in Japan. The presence of the game at Tokyo Game Show 2024 could be a hint that the Japanese version of Persona 5: The Phantom X might see a release date or window announced soon.

It seems like we could see Persona 5: The Phantom X appear in Japan, as Persona Central noted that Sega ed a p5x.jp domain for a site. This comes after Sega Sammy noted it would explore a global release of the Persona mobile game in May 2024. [Thanks, Persona Central!]

As for the Persona 5: The Phantom X Japanese site registration, the information about the domain doesn’t offer too many details about the possible release. It confirmed that Sega Corporation is the owner. It also featured p5x as the name, which follows the same sort of convention used for other Persona game names. The Persona 5 Tactica site is at a site with “p5t” in the URL, and Persona 3 Reload oneincluded “p3r” in it. The Chinese Perfect World site URL is p5x.wanmei.com as well. Finally, the expiration date for it is July 31, 2025, which means we could hear news about this in the next year.

Persona 5: The Phantom X started running in some countries in Asia back in April 2024. So if someone is in South Korea or Taiwan, they can already start playing. While folks from the original Persona 5 aren’t the main characters, they do appear. Igor and the Velvet Room remain. It involves a new group of individuals heading into the Metaverse alongside a new mascot similar to Morgana. Multiple beta tests were held in Asia, including in China, as well.

Sega Sammy Holdings announced that the company is considering a global release of Persona 5: The Phantom X. The company’s intention to prepare for a Japanese and worldwide release became public after the release of the latest Sega financial results in the fiscal year ending in March 2024. Persona 5: The Phantom X started its open beta test in China on April 12, 2024, and officially released in South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau on April 18. In addition, the latest financial results for Sega confirmed that the release of Persona 5: The Phantom X met the company’s expectations.

Regarding the company’s financial results, Sega announced an increase in sales and a decrease in profits year-over-year. The release of titles like Persona 3 Reload, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Vanillaware’s Unicorn Overlord, and Football Manager 2024 (the first title in the series to release outside of Japan) contributed to the increase in sales. However, the decrease in profits came from the weak performance of the European market, and the according structural changes.

Developer Perfect World Games originally teased P5X in April 2021, as a mobile game titled Code Name: X. Persona 5: The Phantom X was later officially revealed in March 16, 2023.

Persona 5: The Phantom X is now available in China and South Korea for mobile devices and PC, and Sega is currently considering a global release of the game.

YouTube Faz shared the opening movie from Persona 5: The Phantom X on YouTube. It also features the one of the new tracks performed by Persona 5 vocalist Lyn Inaizumi in it. 

As noted in the description, Faz took this from the open beta for the mobile game. This followed multiple closed beta tests. It features multiple playable and NPCs from the game. For example, the new protagonist features prominently throughout. That’s the person with brown hair and a yellow jacket riding a skateboard. The mascot character Ruferu the owl shows up. Classmates and allies Riko Tanemura and Shun Kanou also appeared. The Velvet Room residents Igor and Merope come up at the 45 second mark.

This isn’t the only recent video from the game that’s appeared around the open beta launch. The MegaTen News Network YouTube channel shared the Chinese trailer for the game. This featured some story segment moments, as well as battle gameplay footage of new and returning characters.

Persona 5: The Phantom X is in development for mobile devices and Windows PC. The open beta will be available in China. There's no word on a release date for it just yet.

A new Playstation Blog post has detailed the Tower of Fantasy crossover event with the Evangelion series, set to launch "in the first half of 2024." The event was previously announced back in December, 2023.

The update's story will involve players teaming up with Shinji, Asuka, and Rei with the latter two being unlockable as simulacra. A new vehicle based on the Entry Plug as well as a Pen-Pen smart servant will also be available. The post also confirms the appearance of EVA units 00, 01, and 02 as well as certain Angels, which will be presented in 1:1 scale.

Also detailed was the main game update 3.6, which is scheduled for launch on January 30, 2024. This update will add the Aquaville area as well as the SSR character Plotti and her weapon, the EP-7000 Skyfire hand cannon.

Originally only available on mobile devices and PCs, Tower of Fantasy came to Playstation consoles back in August, 2024, as part of the game's first anniversary update. In the month prior, Hotta Studios also added Yu Lan the martial artist as a playable simulacrum.

The Tower of Fantasy x Evangelion crossover event is due to launch sometime in the first half of 2024, while the game itself is readily available on the PC, mobile devices, and now Playstation 4 and PlayStation 5.

Tower of Fantasy will hold a Neon Genesis Evangelion crossover event some time in 2024. The newest update for the game, Winter’s Electrifying Rhapsody, will launch on December 21, 2023. [Thanks, Dengeki Online!]

For the Neon Genesis Evangelion event, characters from the show will appear in the game. These characters are Shinji, Rei, and Asuka. There will be a limited time story, as well as exclusive costumes and mounts. More information on the crossover will appear some time in the future.

As for Winter’s Electrifying Rhapsody, this will be Version 3.5 of Tower of Fantasy. It’ll feature a new story, as well as new characters and weapons that you can collect. You can watch the trailer here:

Tower of Fantasy came out worldwide in 2022 for the Windows PC and mobile devices. The PS4 and PS5 versions came out in 2023. It is a futuristic MMORPG in which players can customize their own avatar and explore an open world. It features a hack-and-slash combat where players can swap between three different weapons at any time.

Crunchyroll Games, F3 Studio, and Perfect World announced a new One Punch Man game. The two are bringing One Punch Man: World to PCs and mobile devices in 2023. There's no exact release date yet. However, people can for the PC version via an official site.

One Punch Man: World appears to be a typical sort of action-RPG where you gather characters from the series, go through missions in  Z-City, fight familiar enemies, play minigames, and take part in raids alone or with others. At the moment the site confirmed Saitama, Atomic Samurai, Genos, Golden Ball, Lightning Max, Mumen Rider, Puri-Puri Prisoner, and Speed-O-Sound Sonic as playable characters. Each profile page shows video clips of their in-game attacks.

Here’s the first trailer for the new One Punch Man game. It consists of quite a bit of gameplay footage, as you can see characters like Saitama, Genos, and Lightning Max explore Z-City and fight enemies alone or in a group.

The last major One Punch Man game we saw was One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows. That was the fighting game from Spike Chunsoft and Bandai Namco. That launched back in February 2020, though its servers closed in February 2022. Elements of the series also appeared in Overwatch in 2023, as crossover character costumes showed up.

One Punch Man: World will come to PCs and mobile devices in 2023. Viz Media handles localization of the manga, while the anime is streaming on Crunchyroll.

The lastest simulacrum coming to Tower of Fantasy is the agile martial artist Yu Lan. She is scheduled to become available in the game's Limited Order gacha system on July 18, 2023.

Her new trailer shows off her acrobatic, but focused, combat style set against the backdrop of the Domain 9 mountains. She begins training in a serene pool, but must soon dodge rising pillars of stone, dispatch enemies on a bridge and meet with Master Yu.

The official Tower of Fantasy website updated to discuss her as well. It noted her gauntlet-style weapon is "confidential," only providing its name: Unity. The website also does not currently name her English voice actress.

Yu Lan previously appread in the story trailers for the Domain 9 Sector 3.0 expansion, which launched back in June 2023. That update introduced the new, China-inspired Domain 9. It also revealed a new simulacrum named Liu Huo and her weapon, the calligraphy brush called Pine Comet. Around that same time, Tower of Fantasy also announced a date for the release of the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game.

Tower of Fantasy is available to on PC and mobile devices with Yu Lan arriving on July 18, 2023. The game will become available on the PS4 and PS5 on August 8, 2023.

Level Infinite and Hotta Studio unveiled the next expansion for Tower of Fantasy, their free-to-play open-world RPG. The expansion is the first major update for the game and will add a large new playable area called "Vera", along with new characters, challenges, and story quests. The expansion launches on October 20, 2022.

Vera Plane, as it's formally called, is an entirely new playable zone separate from the current main area of Aesperia. It consists of two main terrain types: The irradiated Desert Gobby, and the modern, high-tech city of Mirroria at its center. Mirroria is a large, pyramidal cityscape with an aesthetic inspired by futuristic cyberpunk architecture.

Both types of terrain in Vera will provide new exploration opportunities and challenges for Tower of Fantasy players. The Desert Gobby is a dangerous zone, and aside from hostile creatures, it experiences hazards like sandstorms and other weather phenomena. Quicksand can also slow players down and put them in peril. Mirroria, meanwhile, has its own unique architecture, and is a large enough area that players will need to get around using a train-like transport system or the flying taxis that traverse the environment. Both zones are threatened by the Grayspace, an alternative dimension filled with hostile Grayspace Entities.

Vera will also add new world bosses and powerful foes to Tower of Fantasy's bestiary. In the Desert Gobby, the metallic moose Rudolph uses its agility and speed to challenge players, while the fearsome Magma can seal its enemies in the danger zone with a sandstorm wall. Within Mirroria, the Puppet Singer is an entertainment android corrupted by Grayspace Entities, now posing a threat to all within the city.

To allow newer Tower of Fantasy players the opportunity to catch up, the developers said that upon its arrival, new players will be able to choose whether to begin the game with Vera or with the base experience. Though the stories of each zone are related, they stand alone well enough that a player can choose their starting point and explore the others at their leisure rather than being forced down a linear progression of areas.

The Vera expansion won't just expand the Tower of Fantasy game world, but also its playable roster. New characters will be added, the first of which is Ruby, who played tour guide during the preview stream. Ruby uses a drone-like companion, Spark, in combat.

Tower of Fantasy is already available on PC, but the debut of the Vera expansion will see the game arrive on Steam. When Vera goes live, Steam s will be able to add Tower of Fantasy to their Steam library and launch it from there.

Tower of Fantasy is available on Android, iOS, and PC. The Vera expansion launches on October 20, 2022.

Perfect World on smartphones will use the same sort of wuxia fantasy world as the original game, but adds in various modern features for smartphone games, such as being able to share the look of your created character immediately on social platforms. Atlus recently sold C&C Media, part of their online effort to Beijing online game operator Perfect World for $21 million. Once the transaction is completed, C&C Media will become a fully-owned subsidiary of Perfect World.

According to a Gamasutra report, the majority of Perfect World's revenue comes from domestic operations. With the C&C acquisition, they hope to expand into the Japanese online games market.

The sale, however, doesn't mean Atlus are abandoning their plans for online expansion. The Atlus Online division still exists, and in November of last year, the company acquired Gonzo Rosso Online KK, who are responsible for operating online games in Singapore and Malaysia. One of their games is a Tower of Druaga MMO.
