Bandai Namco and Krispy Kreme announced that there are 45th anniversary Pac-Man doughnuts available both at the actual locations and at stores like Walmart and Kroger. The official website is now live online, which lets us see participating stores and place delivery orders. In addition to being held in the US, the items will launch in Japan too. They will only be sold for a limited time.

There are three Pac-Man doughnuts available during as part of this Krispy Kreme promotion, and they can be purchased alone or in a box of 12 when ordered from the official site. The Pac-Man Party one features an original glazed doughnut with a sugar decoration of the character and matching yellow buttercream icing. The Strawberry Power Berry option features a strawberry design on top of an original glazed with strawberry filling. Finally, the Team Ghost design looks like an actual maze from the game with Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde icing on an original glazed with chocolate filling inside. These are $2.69 each, which is $0.40 more than a standard version. A dozen, which includes three Pac-Man Party, three Team Ghost, two Strawberry Power Berry, and four regular original glazed, costs $19.99.

As for the options at grocery stores or places like Walmart, it seems Krispy Kreme will only a six doughnut option. That box will consist of one each of the specialty versions, as well as three original glazed ones.

The Pac-Man doughnuts are now at Krispy Kreme and other participating stores that sell their desserts as of May 12, 2025. Bandai Namco didn’t share an end date for the promotion, but it will only appear for a limited time.

Bandai Namco's dark reimagining of the arcade classic Pac-Man called Shadow Labyrinth is headed to the Nintendo Switch on July 18, 2025. Previously revealed at The Game Awards 2024, the game follows an amnesiac wanderer and the mysterious Puck navigating a dark labyrinth filled with strange monsters and traps that they must work together to escape. A brand-new gameplay trailer is also available.

The gameplay trailer showcased new mechanics. One is the Gaia form, during which the protagonist and Puck merge into a large, monstrous form. This allows them to consume defeated enemies to gain items. Another feature is Phase Shifting. This allows Puck to take on a familiar Pac-Man shape to cross terrain the protagonist cannot tackle alone.

The concept for the game was first teased in the Secret Level anthology series on Amazon, where the nameless protagonist and Puck fought through a dark labyrinth, similarly filled with monsters and deadly traps.

I have so many form over function bags and purses. I’ve gotten Loungefly items I’ll never use because they are too heavy or clumsy for casual wear. My designated Halloween Purse is shaped like an actual cauldron, which seems cool until you realize it can really only hold my wallet, phone, and keys and is awkward to easily retrieve said items due to the odd shape. The Sprayground Pac-Man Ghost Gang Mystery Bag backpack involves a situation where it definitely is about the aesthetics, but those are handled in a way in which we can actually use the resulting bag on a daily basis. 

Yes, this is a blind bag situation. However, I feel it is less risky than similar ones. While the color of the ghost may vary and there is the secret glow-in-the-dark Scared surprise variant, I get the feeling someone buying this particular Pac-Man ghost backpack is doing so just to have a general, ghost-shaped one. Inky, Blinky, Pinky, and Clyde are all present in addition to the prone white ghost, so your options are basically red, orange, blue, or pink with eyes in different directions depending on which one you get. In my case, I ended up getting an Inky, so I have the signature light blue ghost with dark blue eyes looking to his right. 

When the Sprayground Pac-Man Ghost Gang Mystery Bag backpack first arrives, it is in a black, plastic bag with a recreation of the game’s maze on one side. Aside from the fact that there are five ghosts in the center, rather than four, it’s a great recreation and reference. But honestly, I appreciated most that it was resealable. This is a bag that is designed to be used. It’s a statement piece, but also really durable from my tests over the 2024 holiday season. But when I have something that is “special,” I also like being able to preserve it when I’m not using it. So instead of just sticking it in a closet, I can put it in its original bag and store it away, feeling like it is a little more secure. 

The nature of the design and materials for the bag also mean that it feels really sound and structured. It’s 18 inches long and six inches wide, with a fake leather exterior. Because it’s one solid piece of material for much of it, there’s a sturdiness that really helps the backpack maintain its form. When I was taking it around over the holidays, I found this especially benefitted me when toting around electronics. There is a cushioned laptop section inside the bag, which easily fit my MacBook Air with room to spare, and I also had no issue tossing in a Lenovo Legion Go and Switch too. I’m sure people will and could use it for clothes and other general items, but I think it would be best served as a gaming bag due to the appearance and construction elements. I felt safe storing my electronic devices in it. Especially since the padding and design of the straps made it comfortable to wear as well. 

That design also made me feel like it could be a good option for a carry-on bag for a flight in some ways. It does have some side pockets and additional zippered compartments. However, it isn’t so much one with a lot of easily accessible ones I’d grab from on the go, due to so many of the more accommodating features and pockets being on the inside. Rather, I’d consider it the type you load up or pull from when stationary, then keep sealed while in transit from one place to another. 

Especially since the Clyde Sprayground Pac-Man Ghost Gang backpack I used ended up being far more resistant to the elements than I expected. It was a rainy Christmas and New Years in the midwest in 2024! Since it ended up being established that this was a water-resistant bag, I wasn’t too concerned. But there were some times when more than a slight drizzle fell, and the backpack held up amazingly. Likewise, I did get a bit splashed, and that residue wiped off without leaving any marks. 

Also, as a fun aside, the fact that this Pac-Man ghost backpack is so noticeable and recognizable even led to some fun encounters over the break. At one point, a person struck up a conversation with me when I used it instead of a grocery tote while shopping for some essentials as we waited in line. One of my older relatives who normally can’t what my job even is and isn’t typically into gaming picked up on the imagery right away, which led to us talking more about her own youth. With similar pop culture bags or purses I’ve used from Loungefly, the most that happens is I’ll get a compliment about the design. But I ended up surprised by a few conversations with both people I knew and didn’t because of this especially distinctive accessory.

I didn’t expect the Sprayground Pac-Man Ghost Gang mystery bag backpack to be as sturdy as it is and leave the impression that it does. It ended up being such a substantial pack. So much so that I think I’d exclusively use it for toting around electronics either locally or when taking a flight somewhere due to that durability. The design means its really good at keeping a computer or console secure and protected. It also ends up catching a lot of attention when used. It nails the aesthetic while still being incredibly practical.

Casio announced its four new Pac-Man watches inspired by the game and arcade cabinet will all release in Japan on December 13, 2024. They range in price from ￥7,700 (~$51) to ￥17,050 (~114), depending on the model. One of the variants is a calculator watch.

The two design options are Pop Neon Color Design and Game Screen Design. There are four possible watches total, with two variants in each. The Pop Neon Color Design is available for the A168WEPC and F-91WPC models. The Game Screen Design inspired by the game and cabinet can be found in the ABL-100WEPC and CA-53WPC styles. Each of the models are unisex styles and waterproof. All except the ABL-100WEPC feature the Casio long-life battery. The A168WEPC and F-91WPC features a light. The CA-53WPC is the calculator watch with the ability to show time in two cities at once. The ABL-100WEPC model can connect to a smartphone, keep track of daily steps, and has a backlight.

Casio’s shared a number of collaboration watches in 2024. One of the first ones to show up this year was an Earthbound G-Shock. In honor of the Hello Kitty 50th Anniversary, we also saw another G-Shock with her signature bow. Prior to that, there was even an A100WEPC Casio Vintage Pac-Man watch, though that has since sold out.

The four new Casio Pac-Man watches will launch on December 13, 2024 in Japan.

Bandai Namco opened two new One Piece Card Game and Pac-Man Select stores in the Mitsuwa Plaza location in Arlington Heights, IL. The two appear at the back of the store next to the Pastry House Hippo bakery.

The One Piece Card Game Official Shop serves as both a storefront and place to play. At the counter, people can purchase cards and decks. Purchase limits are in effect. Once inside, tables are set up for people to play. As a note the championship matches often have Store Regionals segments, which could involve locations like this. 

As for the Pac-Man Select store, it only involves merchandise. A number of retro-style arcade cabinets are on display. So are pieces of art and stools involving Pac-Man and the ghosts. Other accessories, such as replicas of the character and glasses, are available as well.

This isn’t the only Bandai Namco installation at the Illinois Mitsuwa Plaza location. Earlier in 2024, the Gashapon Bandai Official Shop opened. It is between the Toritetsu restaurant and food court seating. A number of machines are available, grouped into categories such as Character, Living Things, or Anime and Manga. Most machines take between two and four coins per pull, and it is $2 per coin.

Back in October 2022, MegaHouse released its first series line of Pac-Man x Sanrio figures, and now a second collection is on the way. This time, only ghosts from the series appear wearing hats inspired by familiar mascots. 

The new collection of Pac-Man x Sanrio figures will debut in October once again, though this time the window is “late October 2024.” Each one will cost 660円 (~$4.20), which is an increase from the original volume 1 price of 418円 (~$2.70). Four are standard ghosts in pink or purple shades, and those wear hats based on Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, Kuromi, and Badtz Maru. The remaining two are “scared” versions of ghosts in purple and blue with Kiki and Lala Little Twin Stars hats.

While the new characters are coming, there will be a chance to complete the collection by getting older ones too. MegaHouse announced a rerelease, which is set for July 2024. The six figures in that line included two Pac-Man variants. One was in a crown, and the other featured Hello Kitty’s ribbon. There were also four ghosts, which wore Hello Kitty, Pochacco, My Melody, and PomPomPurin hats. The price went up on these as well, as they’ll also be 660円 (~$4.20) this time around.

The Pac-Man x Sanrio volume 2 new figures will appear in Japan in October 2024, following the rerelease of the volume 1 ones in July 2024.
