Kaiyodo has announced that it will produce and release a new Revoltech figure based on Kasumi from Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge. This action figure will be part of the company's Revoltech Amazing Yamaguchi line.

Even though Kasumi also appeared in the Dead or Alive series, this action figure will feature her appearance in the latest mainline Ninja Gaiden entry released as of 2024. Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge is an the 2012 PS3 and Xbox 360 title Ninja Gaiden 3. It appeared first on Wii U in late 2012, and Koei Tecmo then ported it back to the former two consoles in 2013. Razor's Edge is also included in Ninja Gaiden Master Collection, which has been available worldwide on the PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC since 2021.

Kaiyodo has been on a roll with numerous reveals of figures based on characters from Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja's Ninja Gaiden series. The company started the wave by revealing the Revoltech action figure of the series protagonist Ryu Hayabusa in May 2024. However, it also revealed a newer action figure modeled after his appearance in Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge on the 2024 Christmas Day. In September 2024, the company also announced a Revoltech of Ayane from the same title.

Kaiyodo will announce the pre-order and release windows for its Revoltech Amazing Yamaguchi action figure of Kasumi from Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge at a later time.

The February 2021 Nintendo Direct revealed Ninja Gaiden Master Collection, which will come to the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on June 10, 2021.

The compilation will include the three Ninja Gaiden Σ games, which rebooted the original 1988-1991 NES trilogy. Ninja Gaiden Sigma was a 2007 PlayStation 3 remake of Xbox's Ninja Gaiden Black. Similarly, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 was a 2009 PS3 enhanced port of the original sequel that appeared on the Xbox 360. Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge was an enhanced version of the third game that was first released on Wii U in 2012. It was also brought over to the PS3 and Xbox 360 in April 2013.

We previously learned about the these Ninja Gaiden ports in September 2020. The Hong Kong-based publisher Game Source Entertainment briefly put up listings for Ninja Gaiden Sigma Trilogy. It said it would come to not only Nintendo Switch, but also PlayStation 4 in March 2021. The listings were removed shortly after, but not before the internet saw them. All DLC will be included in the Ninja Gaiden Master Collection.

This announcement also goes along with the promise made by Fumihiko Yasuda, the current leader of Team Ninja. In his New Year aspirations, Yasuda teased that there would be multiple reveals related to the brand in 2021 after the studio wrapped up development on Nioh 2.

Ninja Gaiden Master Collection will be available on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on June 10, 2021.

We could be seeing another game leak, this time for the Ninja Gaiden series. Hong Kong’s Game Source Entertainment temporarily had both Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 listings for a Ninja Gaiden Σ Trilogy online on September 8, 2020. They have since been pulled, but suggested a compilation would be appearing in the region in March 2021.  [Thanks, Reddit and Nibellion!]

This supposed collection would, according to the Game Source product pages, give people a new way to play Ninja Gaiden Σ, Ninja Gaiden Σ2, and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge. The price for the possible collection was listed as $39.99.

The Nintendo Switch subreddit has a link to the cached page, while the PlayStation 4 one included the following screenshot of the listing.

Ninja Gaiden Σ first appeared on the Xbox as Ninja Giaden, before being brought to the PlayStation 3 and Vita with extra content. Likewise, Ninja Gaiden Σ 2 was an update PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita port of the Xbox 360 game Ninja Gaiden II. As for Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge, it was the Nintendo Wii U updated version of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 game.

If the Game Source Entertainment product page leaks are accurate, then we might end up seeing a Ninja Gaiden Σ Trilogy Switch and PS4 release in March 2021.

In early 2014, Tecmo Koei will publish Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z, a spin-off from the Ninja Gaiden series developed by Spark Unlimited in collaboration with Team Ninja and Comcept. While Yaiba is being handled by Spark, Team Ninja themselves are presently working on the next mainline Ninja Gaiden game.

In a discussion with Keiji Inafune (above), Team Ninja head Yosuke Hayashi brings up the fact that Ninja Gaiden fans appear apprehensive of Yaiba, and aren’t convinced it’s a game they’ll enjoy. Hayashi then goes on to say that Yaiba is meant to offer a different take on the series, while Team Ninja work on the next game.

The conversation between the two developers is as follows:

Hayashi: As we’ve talked about Yaiba, there have been some Ninja Gaiden fans who have said Yaiba’s not the hardcore action game that they’re looking for. Honestly, they’re a little hesitant about the game.

 

Inafune: Yeah, some people are a little worried.

 

Hayashi: To those people I say this: Team Ninja is thinking of the next Ninja Gaiden. For example, if the games were food, the Ninja Gaiden series would be a rich meaty entree and Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z would be dessert. Every course of the meal would be in the same Ninja Gaiden world, but gamers will experience different kinds of play. That’s how Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z will be different.

Last week was slow on new releases, so the only new game in the top-20 was Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge... which sold 9,659 copies at launch.

Topping the charts again was Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, which appears to be developing quite the long tail. The game has proven to be a very strong seller and pushed another 70,000 copies last week. Behind it at #2 was Animal Crossing: New Leaf, with another 50,000 copies sold.

Namco Bandai’s games are doing well, too. One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 has moved close to 360,000 copies on the PlayStation 3 and an additional 85,000 on the Vita.

Meanwhile, despite a relatively slow start, Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission continues to sell week after week, and has reached 152,000 copies sold. This is likely due to its release being timed with the new Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods animated movie, and it isn’t Namco’s first 3DS game to show strong sales over a long period of time. Readers may recall Run for Money Tousouchuu and Taiko Drum Master: The Little Dragon and the Mysterious Orb doing very well, too.

Tecmo Koei are reorganizing their corporate structure, and Team Ninja will be one of the teams affected by the change, the publisher announced today (via: Hachima Kiko).

As part of the reorganization, Team Ninja is being split into two development groups—the Ichigaya Development Group 1 and Ichigaya Development Group 2.

Current Team Ninja head Yosuke Hayashi will lead Ichigaya Development Group 1. Meanwhile, Ichigaya Development Group 2 will be headed up by Fatal Frame producer Keisuke Kikuchi. Prior to this change, Kikuchi was a senior manager at Team Ninja.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge is getting a demo on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 today (tomorrow in Europe), and will allow you to play as both Ryu and Ayane in their own separate stages, Tecmo Koei announced this morning.

Additionally, the demo will also allow you to unlock Kasumi as a playable character. You’ll also be able to unlock a Chapter Challenge mode that lets you use the characters in each other’s stages, after you complete both the Ryu and Ayane stages. Ryu’s takes place in a desert in Dubai, while Ayane’s takes place in Paris.

While the demo initially allows you to play only on Hero and Normal difficulty levels, you can also unlock the Hard and Master Ninja levels.

Finally, all Karma and Ninja Skills acquired in the demo can be transferred to the full version of Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge, which will be released on April 2nd in North America and April 5th in Europe.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge is getting a demo prior to launch, Tecmo Koei have revealed. While the demo has not been dated, it will feature stages for both Ryu and Ayane, and will be available on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Additionally, as previously reported, the Xbox 360 version of the game will Microsoft’s “SmartGlass” feature, allowing you to view your stats on a smartphone or tablet, as well as watch strategy videos based on their in-game location and comment on them.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge will be released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on April 2nd in North America and April 5th in Europe. In North America, the game will cost $40. Razor’s Edge is also available on Wii U.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge synchronizes to YouTube so you can browse videos that show players how to clear an area. It's kind of like having an interactive walkthrough at your fingertips.

Like the Wii U version, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge has new weapons like the Kusarigama, the Art of the Piercing Void ninpo, and three extra playable characters. Ayane, Momiji, and Kasumi from the Dead or Alive series are in Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge. The game comes out on April 2 in North America and April 5 in Europe.

A new free content pack is headed to Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge on the Wii U sometime later this month, Nintendo of America have announced.

This pack will add the four new costumes for Ryu, Ayane, Kasumi and Momiji that were announced for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game, along with 25 new ninja trials.

Updated report: Tecmo Koei Europe have announced Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge for an Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 release in U.S. and European territories. The game will release in North America on April 2nd and Europe on April 5th, and will feature the same changes seen in the Wii U version—the removal of QTEs, the return of dismemberment, improved enemy AI, and Kasumi, Ayane and Momiji available as playable characters.

In addition, Razor’s Edge will also have extra costumes that weren’t available in the Wii U version. These can be purchased in-game using karma. Here’s a look at some of the new outfits that are in the game:

The rumor is true, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge will be released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge has revised enemy AI and fewer quick time events. The game was first announced as a Wii U exclusive, Nintendo even published the title in North America and Europe.

Famitsu has a little blurb on the port with screenshots of Dead or Alive characters Ayane and Kasumi in the game. Both characters are also in the Wii U version.
