Good Smile Company has opened pre-orders for a Pop-Up Parade figure of A2 from NieR Automata. The figure is expected to ship in July 2025.

The figure is primarily based on the anime NieR Automata Ver1.1a. Much like other figures in the range, is a static model with no swappable or moveable parts. The A2 figure depicts her striding and glancing to the side while she trails her sword behind her. She stands at 170mm in height (roughly 6.69 inches) although her wide stance and sword mean she takes up a lot of horizontal space too.

The NieR Automata Ver1.1a A2 Pop Up Parade figure is available to pre-order now until March 5, 2025. She will cost 5,500 and is set to ship in July 2025.

A2 is the latest figure in the range based on NieR Automata Ver1.1a. Both 2B and 9S were previously made available in June 2025. 2B was roughly the same height as A2, while 9S stood a little shorter. A2 had been confirmed at the time of their release, although only a prototype was shown.

As part of Good Smile Company’s Smile Fest 2024 announcements, six NieR: Automata figures and figmas of 2B and A2 appeared. Their level of progress varies, with some showing up only as concept art and others as painted or unpainted prototypes. 

Four of the new NieR: Automata figures are of 2B. One is a Max Factory scale figure with the skirt of her dress flying up and her Pod 042 by her side. That is in the painted prototype phase. The other scale figure of her is also at the same level of development. As for her figma and Good Smile Arts Shanghai scale figure, both of those are only at the unpainted prototype phase.

As for the two A2 NieR: Automata figures, those aren’t as far along. The figma was just announced, so only concept art appeared. Meanwhile, her scale figure only showed up as an unpainted prototype.

All of these figures were mainly billed as being based on their anime appearances. The second cour of that is set to begin streaming on Crunchyroll in July 2024. The Pod’s Podcast will also resume.

Japanese electronics goods company ONKYO will be releasing NieR Automata wireless earphones that come with 2B and 9S's voice lines built into the device. The wireless earphones are scheduled to ship July 2024. [Thanks, Dengeki!]

ONKYO's ANIMA AOW 01 wireless earphones are based on NieR Automata Ver1.1a, the anime series which adapts Square Enix's popular video game NieR Automata. Fans of the video game and anime series will be able to operate their earphones while enjoying the familiar voices 2B and 9S. The headphones come with recorded voice lines by Yui Ishikawa and Natsuki Hanae, the voice actors of 2B and 9S respectively. There are 11 words recorded on each model, including voice lines for powering the device on and off, pairing the device, and other recordings when using the earphones.

The NieR Automata earphones have built-in Bluetooth 5.1, IPX7 waterproof standard, AAC and aptX codec compatibility, MEMS type microphone, and they also wireless qi charging. The charing case features the YoRHa emblem printed on top along with 2B or 9S's model name. The earbuds themselves feature the left "L" and right "R" in Angelic text. The sound quality of the earphones have also been closely observed by ONKYO.

The earphones also come with a brand new piece of artwork made specially for the release of the ANIMA AOW 01 wireless earphones. The brand new artwork featuring 2B and 9S with the earphones can be viewed below:

The earphones will be available for pre-order at the ONKYO Akihabara store and online on ONKYO Direct starting March 19, 2024 until May 7, 2024, or until the available pre-order units sell out.

Kotobukiya announced two new NieR Automata scale figures of protagonists 2B and 9S. So far, Kotobukiya has only shown images of gray unpainted prototypes, and there is no release date or window announced yet.

Once the PVC figures are complete, they will be pre-painted. The figures will be at a 1/8 scale. There are no details currently on its dimensions yet. More news will appear in the future. The figures are based on the NieR Automata Ver1.1a anime adaptation of the game. The prototypes are now on display at Akihabara Radio Kaikan as part of the Kotobukiya Collection event.

Many figure announcements appeared during the Kotobukiya Collection event, like a new scale figure of the Persona 3 Reload protagonist, new Sigma and Bass.EXE figures from Mega Man X and Mega Man Battle Network, and a new Star Trek Bishoujo figure was teased, and might be based on Captain Kirk.

The new Kotobukiya scale figures of 2B and 9S from NieR Automata are currently in development, and there is no release date for them. NieR Automata is available for the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, and its anime adaptation is available in Crunchyroll.
