The Hololive Vtuber Hoshimachi Suisei's song that appeared in the Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- movie will also become the ending theme of the regular TV show. Sunrise and Khara announced the confirmation on the anime title's Japanese official social media .

The song's title in Japanese is "Mou dou nattemo iiya," and its official English title is "I don't care." The same song originally appeared as an insert song in the middle of the Beginning movie edition. Cover has since published the short movie version of the song on YouTube and music streaming platforms including Spotify.

As an official ending theme song, the Hoshimachi Suisei song will complement Kenshi Yonezu's "Plazma," which has become the opening theme song for the regular TV run of Gundam GQuuuuuuX. However, those two are not the only pop songs that have been featured in the anime show. The movie also featured Nomelon Nolemon's "Midnight Reflection" as another insert song, but it remains to be seen whether the latter will also appear in the regular TV run or not.

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX will launch on Japanese television channels on April 9, 2025, past midnight JST. Prime Video will exclusively the earliest streams of the episodes soon after the Japanese premiere. The episodes will also appear on other streaming platforms like Netflix and Disney+ two days later.

A new Gundam anime series means new merchandise tied to it, so of course there’s a gunpla model kit so we can build Amate Yuzuriha’s gMS-Ω GQuuuuuuX. Bandai Namco released a HG 1/144 version after the theatrical release of the beginning and ahead of the show’s official streaming debut. While this is only a $22 beginner kit, the striking thing about it is how detailed and complex it is. It really does capture the new unit well, and it can be a challenge when it comes to some of the smaller bits.

So to start, the gMS-Ω GQuuuuuuX Gundam kit is a gunpla that can be built by beginners, so don’t let that dissuade you from trying to build this model. Pieces are found on sprues A through F, with A featuring multicolor parts. There’s also a sheet for G, but that only consists of two translucent blades for its pair of beam sabers, so the bulk of your parts are divided into the other six sprues. You honestly don’t need to paint it, due to all of the major colored parts being available alongside stickers and waterslide decals for notable accents. However, I will say that both a nipper and a pair of tweezers feels pretty essential for this build. Some of the parts are just too small or fiddly, especially for the two head options, and it could be too difficult to remove pieces. I mostly used the parts from a generic kit I got off of Amazon for filing and cutting, and it’s served me well for $8 for the last few years.

So the tricky thing I discovered about the gMS-Ω GQuuuuuuX Gundam model kit is that the design and execution feels atypical compared to traditional kits. There are lots of small parts. You’re dealing with pieces in basically six different colors. You’re also getting quite a few optional parts, such as opened and unopened state heads and backpack. The heads and torso both can be a lot! I’d honestly say it’s in a good way, however. It’s so detailed and there’s so much to it. I could see a newcomer maybe being a bit frustrated, especially with some of the tinier red and yellow accents from the A and F sprues on the head. A helpful tip I’ve found is to actually press the parts onto the gunpa’s head before removing them from the sprue with the nipper, to ensure they’re properly in place and don’t disappear on you. However, no glue is needed and once in place, these parts will absolutely stay there. Plus, if you find it intimidating, just always double check the instructions. They’re incredibly clear with detailed visuals, arrows showing exactly where parts go, and even numbers highlighting the order to apply them. 

With this upper “half” of the gunpla, I was honestly delighted to see how easy it was to adjust the gMS-Ω GQuuuuuuX Gundam model kit. Though the head parts do fit in place perfectly and snuggly, it isn’t difficult to remove them to swap designs. I just preferred the opened state appearance, which is why those are the ones highlighted in my build galleries. The shoulder blade parts can move a bit, for additional posing designs. Plus there’s a lot of flexibility and points of articulation on the upper half of the figure.

I also really loved how the intricate nature of the design of this Gundam model really made the torso and legs pop. Like in practice, as you start to build it up, you really see the highlights gradually come together from very simple starts. I went with a completely unpainted build, so someone could see what it looks like with any additional adjustments, and it is absolutely impressive. In fact, it’s just a highlight in general for the kit. Every element has that little “extra” that makes it a little more special. Like the beam rifle and shield consisting of multiple parts are great examples as well.

However, I did experience two minor annoyances with this gunpla kit. One is that the finished figure absolutely refuses to hold the Tomenosuke Heat Hawk. I know it’s possible. I see it in the official images. But for some reason, neither closed-fist hand part would hold it after I finished the kit. It wasn’t happening. The other is that your mileage may vary when it comes to the legs properly staying in place once attached at the hips. The right leg snapped on fine and securely. No matter how I bent it, it stayed on. The left? It liked to fall off! It’s why all of m poses don’t involve any intricate bending ones in the gallery, as I haven’t figured out a good way to ensure it remains in place. To my surprise though, even though the “feet” are a little awkward, it’s a very stable kit and otherwise can remain upright and balanced on its own without a stand or .

The gMS-Ω GQuuuuuuX Gundam is such an impressive model kit given the size and money, and there’s just so much to this gunpla. It looks amazing no matter how much investment you put into it. Also, despite it being a 1/144 scale finished figure, it still captures the unit perfectly and does feel like a fun task with some light challenges for an afternoon.

The gMS-Ω GQuuuuuuX model kit is available now, and Gundam GQuuuuuuX will begin airing on April 9, 2025. It will stream on Amazon, Disney+, and Netflix.

Sunrise and Khara revealed that the new anime Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX will be available on more streaming platforms, including Netflix and Disney+. However, these platforms will only get the anime episodes two days after Amazon Prime Video.

A new tweet from the anime show's official social media revealed a comprehensive list of streaming platforms that will host all of its episodes in Japan. Amazon Prime Video will get exclusive rights to publish new anime episodes at the earliest, which will be just half an hour after they premiered on Japanese television channels past midnight on Wednesdays. Other platforms like Netflix, Disney+, and Hulu will get the episodes two day later on Fridays. The same tweet also revealed that the show will be available on ad-ed free versions of Abema and Lemino in Japan every Sunday.

People residing outside Japan should, however, note that this announcement pertains specifically to Japan. Even though Netflix, Disney+, and Hulu are also available worldwide, the appearances of Gundam GQuuuuuuX episodes on those platforms in other areas are not guaranteed yet until an official confirmation has appeared on the official for each respective region.

Amazon Prime Video acquired the streaming rights for Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX. It’ll start releasing the episodes starting on April 9, 2025, which when the show begins.

Not only does Amazon Prime Video have the distribution rights within Japan, but viewers in over 240 countries will be able to watch it as well using the streaming service. In a follow-up post, the X (formerly Twitter) for Prime Video Anime cleared up any possible confusion and stated that this is the television show. It is not Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX Beginning, which is the compilation movie of the first few episodes and is currently still in theaters. 

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX is a collaboration project between Sunrise (Gundam series) and Studio Khara (Evangelion). It takes place in an alternate history of the original Gundam timeline, in which Zeon had won the One Year War after Char stole the White Gundam (now the Red Gundam). Five years after the war, Amate Yuzuriha, a high schooler, enters the world of Clan Battles, which are illegal mobile suit duels. However, the reappearance of the Red Gundam shakes up Amate’s life even further.

The newest entry in the long-running anime franchise will air every Tuesday in Japan from April 8, 2025. It counts as a late-night show, and it’ll air from 12:29am JST. Though GKids announced that it’ll distribute Beginning, which is a compilation film of the first few episodes of the show, there’s no information yet as to which English streaming service will have the show. Crunchyroll does feature quite a few Gundam series, including The Witch From Mercury, so there’s a chance that it’ll license GQuuuuuuX for streaming as well.

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX is a t production between Sunrise and Studio Khara. It takes place in an alternate Universal Century timeline, in which Char Aznable stole the RX-78-2 Gundam and led the Principality of Zeon to victory during the One Year War. The story follows high schooler Amate Yuzuriha, who fights in illegal Clan Battles using her Gundam. However, the emergence of the Red Gundam brings drastic changes to the world.

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX will start airing from April 8, 2025. The compilation film, Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX: Beginning, will appear in North American theaters on February 28, 2025.

Bandai Spirits launched an online Ichiban Kuji lottery featuring merchandise from Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX in Japan. People in the country can now start purchasing lottery tickets that will reward prizes featuring merchandise from the new Gundam anime show without any chance of empty failures.

A ticket for this Kuji lottery costs 700 yen. The primary highlighted prize will be a 22 cm (~8.66 inches) tall Masterlise figure of the show's protagonist, Amate "Machu" Yuzuriha. The prize lineup also includes many acrylic stands based on the characters and Mobile Suits appearing in the new show.

Most of the theaters on the list are from companies like Toho, Aeon, 109, and United Cinemas. Comic Natalie notes that it may be missing some theaters that can show the MX4D and 4DX versions of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, and apologizes in advance if it does.

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX Beginning is a compilation film of the first three episodes or so of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX Beginning, which will be the newest mainline entry in the long-running franchise. It first appeared in Japan on January 17, 2025 as the first-ever Gundam film to appear in IMAX.

Hideaki Anno, the founder of Studio Khara and a co-writer for the show, stated that he wanted GQuuuuuuX to revitalize and expand the franchise by approaching familiar ground from a new angle. The story of GQuuuuuuX seems to follow this sentiment, since it’s an alternate universe from the One Year War. However, it focuses a bit more on illegal mobile suit duels (Clan Battles) rather than solely on political tensions.

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX Beginning will have its MX4D and 4DX showings in Japan from February 22, 2025. Meanwhile, a North American version of the compilation film will come out on February 28, 2025.

Studio Khara shared a message from its founder and Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX co-writer Hideaki Anno about the Gundam GQuuuuuux – Beginning – prequel movie. With this new series, the animator and filmmaker wants to depict a new type of tale within the Gundam IP.

Anno said that the beginning of Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- might surprise viewers because of how faithful of a representation it is and the exceptionally high energy and ion of the staff working on it. However, Anno believes Gundam GQuuuuuuX is one more piece in the vast grounds of the Mobile Suit Gundam series.

Anno continued by saying that, as they continue to be involved in the large contents of the Gundam IP, they should aim to revitalize and expand the franchise with works that take a different approach from pre-existing stories and that can be enjoyed by a wider audience. With that idea in mind, Anno approached Gundam GQuuuuuux Director Kazuya Tsurumaki to make sure the prequel portion of the anime received a certain amount of time.

Bandai opened pre-orders for a new Gundam GQuuuuuuX figure set featuring two of the title's main characters, Amate "Machu" Yuzuriha and Nyaan, on the Japanese Bandai website. The figure is officially known as "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX Portraits - Machu & Nyaan Set," and it will be available in September 2025 at 8,800 yen (~$58). [Thanks, Hobby Watch!]

The new figure set will depict Machu and Nyaan sitting on top of the same desk. It will have an overall height of around 12.5 cm (~4.92 inches), which is measured from the bottom of the table's base to the highest point of Nyaan's head.

The fanart post in question shows Char Aznable and Hoshimachi Suisei making the same pose, though Suisei’s holding up her fingers in a peace sign. Nishizawa 5mm only wrote “The Red Comet and the Blue Comet.” In Mobile Suit Gundam, Char’s nickname was the “Red Comet” because of his fast custom red Zaku. Suisei does not have “Blue Comet” as her nickname. Nishizawa 5mm likely called her that to not only match with Char, but also due to her having the character for “star” in her name.

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX takes place in an alternate version of the Universal Century timeline. In this world, Char stole the RX-78-2 White Gundam and became its pilot, rather than Amuro Ray. This resulted in Zeon winning the One Year War, rather than the Earth Federation. The story of GQuuuuuuX focuses on Clan Battles, which are illegal mobile suit duels. Protagonist Amate Yuzuriha is a high schooler who finds the Red Gundam—Char’s version of the White Gundam—and this discovery changes her life forever.

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX will start airing in 2025. The movie compilation of the first three episodes, Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX: Beginning, came out on January 17, 2025 in Japan. The English version will air in theaters on Feburary 28, 2025.

Bandai Spirits revealed more model kits and action figures based on the new Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX. The company will gradually release the products throughout 2025.

The HG (High Grade) Gunpla model kit of the titular Mobile Suit, GQuuuuuuX, has been available for purchase since January 17, 2025. A Metal Robot Spirits <Side MS> action figure based on the same unit, slated for release in August 2025, is also available for pre-orders. However, Bandai Spirits have newly revealed more kits and action figures based on not only the show's Mobile Suits but also the human characters.

The new lineup includes Mobile Suits that have not been listed on the show's official website as of early February 2025, but appeared in the Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- movie, which is already airing in Japan but is slated for launch in North American theaters on February 28, 2025. As such, be advised that the remainder of the article will contain spoilers for the movie.

Bandai Spirits will release Figure-rise Standard model kits of the show's main characters Amate "Machu" Yuzuriha and Nyaan in June 2025 and July 2025, respectively. A new HG Gunpla featuring the Red Gundam will also appear earlier in May 2025 to accompany the GQuuuuuuX. The company will open pre-orders for all aforementioned kits on February 19, 2025.

Besides revealing new model kits, Bandai Spirits also opened pre-orders for two new Metal Robot Spirits action figures. The Red Gundam action figure is immediately available for pre-orders worldwide at 24,200 yen (~$156.35) with a release window in June 2025. The company will also release another action figure based on the White Gundam in September 2025. But while the latter will cost less at 19,800 yen (~$127.95), its availability will be formally limited to Japan and Asia.

The TV anime show Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX is available via an early movie adaptation. Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- is already airing in Japan, and it will also gradually appear in theaters across North America and other regions worldwide.

Sunrise and Khara announced that Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- has grossed over $3.8 million in the first three days after the movie launched in Japanese theaters on January 17, 2025. The exact amount of revenue in Japanese yen is ¥598,832,300 with 352,522 tickets sold at 426 theaters in the country.

Sunrise has also published a new Promotion Reel video for Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- on the Japanese official Gundam Channel on YouTube. It shows how the Mobile Suit-based clan battles take place in a parallel version of the Universal Century timeline, with Zeon officers overseeing the matches. The closing segment of this video also teases the appearance of Char Aznable in his One Year War-era attire.

The above video also features Kenshi Yonezu's "Plazma" as the movie's opening theme song. The actual movie has two more songs that appear as insert songs, which are Hoshimachi Suisei's "Mou dou nattemo iiya" and Nomelon Nolemon's "Midnight Reflection."

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- is readily available to watch in Japanese theaters. However, Sunrise and Khara are also working with distributors around the world so that the movie experience for the TV anime series is not limited to just Japan. In addition to North America via GKids, the Japanese press release also confirmed cooperations with DEX for Thailand, Sugoi Co for Australia and New Zealand, and Medialink for Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuux -Beginning-, the theatrical cut of the first three episodes of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuux, will be headed to theaters in North America on February 28, 2025. Animated film distributor GKids secured the license for the film cut of the new anime. GKids has not yet announced which theaters will be showing the film or when tickets will become available.

The film is a compilation movie of the first three episodes of the newest entry in the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuux (pronounced 'quarks'). The show is a first ever collaboration between Sunrise and Studio Khara, the Hideaki Anno-founded animation studio behind the Rebuild of Evangelion film series. It is set in an alternate Universal Century where Amuro Ray is not the one who finds the Gundam, but instead Char Aznable.

This film, and the first three episodes, center around Amate Yuzuriha, a young high-schooler living on the Side 6 space colony, who falls into illegal, underground Mobile Suit fighting. It was originally released in Japanese theaters on January 17, 2025.

The original three Gundam films were released in American theaters, showcasing the original adventure of Amuro Ray during the One Year War. In addition, it was recently revealed that Hololive Vtuber, Hoshimachi Suisei would be providing an insert song for the anime.

Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuux -Beginning- will hit theaters in North America on February 28, 2025 but no announcements for regions outside of North America have been made at this time.
