Sunrise published new details on the Mobile Fighter G Gundam Side Stories arc that takes place 12 years after events in the original anime show. It lets people see how Domon Kasshu, Rain Mikamura, and the God Gundam—alternatively known in official English releases as Burning Gundam—look in the future arc of G Gundam Gaiden.

Domon Kasshu is still the reigning Gundam Fight champion, as the tournament has been placed on hold to clean up the Earth from DG Cells. His Mobile Fighter has also since been upgraded to the God Gundam Second. However, he is somehow spotted as a bodyguard for the resurrected Wong Yunfat, who has become the governor of Guyana and holds the Eastern Gem sought after by Master Asia's son Master Junior.

Meanwhile, Rain Mikamura—who has assumed the name Rain Kasshu following her marriage to Domon—worked in a research facility dedicated to containing the Devil/Dark Gundam. However, she ended up reg from her job due to the uproar related to Domon's activities.

In addition, Sunrise revealed that Eichi, one of the new characters revealed in late January 2025, has the full name Eichi Kasshu. It thus also confirmed that she is Domon and Rain's daughter. Eichi had also secretly recovered and restored Neo 's Gundam Spiegel, which is alternatively known in English releases as Shadow Gundam.

Sunrise started publishing the third and final arc of the Mobile Fighter G Gundam Gaiden side stories. It also newly revealed Master Junior, the son of Tohofuhai Master Asia, as the new protagonist of this arc. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]

The third arc takes place in the Future Century year 72—twelve years after the events of the original G Gundam show in FC 60. In this universe, the Gundam Fight tournament is being put on hold while countries around the world work together to clean the Earth from DG Dust that had polluted the planet during the last tournament.

Before the start of the new arc, Sunrise revealed that Master Junior had studied under Sai Saici, who piloted Neo China's Dragon Gundam in FC 60. He will now travel around the world to search for Domon Kasshu. The new protagonist believes Domon knows the location of the Eastern Gem, which is said to host the secret technique of the School of Master Asia. During his journey, he will also encounter Eichi, the new heroine who notably carries a giant abacus.

The final arc for G Gundam Gaiden, which takes place in the future, marks a departure from the first two arcs that covered additional events during the 13th Gundam Fight tournament in FC 60. The first arc, which launched in July 2024, depicted the fight between Domon Kasshu, Master Asia, and the Shuffle Alliance against the new Dark Shuffle group led by Master Asia's fellow disciple, Dokko Kyuhai. The second arc added more details to the background of Schwarz Bruder, the representative Gundam Fighter of Neo .

Bandai Spirits is gradually revealing the prize list for the Mobile Fighter G Gundam Ichiban Kuji lottery, which it will hold to celebrate the title's 30th anniversary. One of the prizes in the lineup will be a handheld fan featuring the head of Tohofuhai Master Asia.

This product will be particularly inspired by an iconic scene in G Gundam, where Master Asia collaborated with his pupil Domon Kasshu to launch a more powerful version of the Choukyuu Haou Den'eidan attack. The purple handle will feature the attack's full kanji name, while the fan will have the same pink color that matches the attack's effects.

The Master Asia head fan will be the second-highest B Prize in the lottery prize lineup, but Bandai Spirits will only produce a single copy of the product. The highest A Prize will feature a static figure of Domon Kasshu's God Gundam—which is alternatively known in official English releases as Burning Gundam. The Last Prize will feature the same Gundam figure but completely gold-coated to emulate its Hyper Mode.

The Mobile Fighter G Gundam 30th Anniversary Ichiban Kuji lottery will be available exclusively online on Thursday, January 9, 2025. Bandai Spirits will reveal the remaining prizes ahead of the lottery's launch date.

A new text-based gaiden scenario for Mobile Fighter G Gundam will start serialization from July 5, 2024. This is part of the celebrations for the 30th anniversary of the show. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

News of this came out during the Gundam Conference Summer 2024, which took place on June 25, 2024. The name of the gaiden will be Mobile Fighter G Gundam: Tenchi Tengaku. Bandai Namco may or may not reveal an official English name for it later. There is also a new key visual showing Domon and Master Asia fighting side-by-side while what appears to be a new villain smirks down at them.

As for the plot of the gaiden, it’ll focus on the appearance of the Dark Shuffle, a group of five mysterious Gundams, who show up right before the finals of the 13th Gundam Fight. For reference, the the 13th Gundam Fight is the Gundam Fight Domon and his friends participate in during the show. Yasuhiro Imagawa, who was the director for Mobile Suit G Gundam, is the one who’ll be penning this work.

Mobile Suit G Gundam aired from 1994 to 1995. It takes place in the Future Century. In this timeline, most humans have escaped for space colonies, though these space colonies are still separated by nationality. Every four years, this is a Gundam Fight in which representatives will fight until only one pilot is left standing. The winner’s country can then rule the world for the next four years. It is one of the zanier Gundam shows in the series.

Mobile Fighter G Gundam is available for streaming on Crunchyroll. The text-based gaiden for Mobile Fighter G Gundam will come out on the G Gundam website from July 5, 2024.

Sunrise and Bandai Namco Filmworks revealed that a new project for Mobile Fighter G Gundam is in the works. The project will appear to mark the 30th anniversary of the mecha anime show that first aired in Japan in 1994. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]

The studio has yet to confirm the format of this new project. However, it did share new sketches of a character who will appear there.

Mobile Fighter G Gundam appeared in 1994 as a part of celebrations for Gundam's 15th anniversary. The title distinguished itself for having a different theme from other Gundam shows. In lieu of futuristic space wars with manned robots known as Mobile Suits, G Gundam featured Gundam Fight tournaments where each nation deploys a representative Gundam formally known as Mobile Fighter to vie for the leading position in the federation.

The protagonist of G Gundam is Domon Kasshu, who represents Neo Japan by first piloting the Shining Gundam. The late singer Yoshifumi Ushima provided two opening theme songs for the show: "Flying in the Sky" and "Trust You Forever."

Sunrise made the reveal at a special live stream to celebrate the Mobile Suit Gundam metaseries' 45th anniversary, which was geo-locked to Japan only. Domon Kasshu's Japanese voice actor Tomokazu Seki was present in the stream together with Toru Furuya (Amuro Ray from the first Mobile Suit Gundam) and Kana Ichinose (Suletta Mercury from The Witch From Mercury)

The stream also revealed new illustrations of the series' protagonists in party attire to mark the anniversary. The lineup features not only G Gundam's Domon Kasshu but also Gundam Wing's Heero Yuy and Gundam X's Garrod Ran.

The new Mobile Fighter G Gundam project is in the works. Sunrise and Bandai Namco Filmworks will reveal more details about the project in the near future.
