Mages has confirmed the release date for Memories Off Sousou: Not Always True. The company will put the new visual novel up on the Switch, PC, PS4, and PS5 on April 10, 2025. It will also release the Traditional and Simplified Chinese localizations simultaneously with the original Japanese version.

In addition, the company also revealed limited physical editions that will be available for consoles. A simple physical copy of the visual novel will cost 8,580 yen (~$57), but there will be a limited edition that comes with an art book and a soundtrack in DVD-ROM format at 12,100 yen (~$80.55).

Mages will also produce an even more luxurious Super Limited Edition exclusive to the Switch release. This set will cost a whopping 49,500 yen (~$329.45), and its pre-orders are exclusively available on Maji Get. In addition to the ordinary limited edition content, this set will also have a Divine Cross TCG card, framed fine graph art, an art book covering the broader Memories Off series from 2018 to 2024, and a ticket to attend the series' 25th-anniversary event that will take place in Tokyo on May 3, 2025.

The company will complete the luxurious set with an early physical release of Memories Off Fan Disc Historia. This new compilation will feature remasters of five fan disc titles not included in the mainline Historia bundle, and Mages will eventually release it in general outlets later in 2025. The five titles in question will be After Rain, Sorekara Again, #5 Encore, Memories Off 6: Next Relation, and Yubikiri no Kioku: Futari no Fuuryuuan.

Mages will release Memories Off Sousou: Not Always True for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 in Japan and East Asia on April 10, 2025.

Mages has published more details on its visual novel, Memories Off Sousou ~Not Always True~. The company has added the PS5 to the list of platforms Memories Off Sousou will be available for. However, it has also delayed the release window on all platforms from 2024 to early 2025.

All prior mainline Memories Off entries have been playable on the PS5 via backward compatibility, following the release of the Historia compilation for the PS4 in 2021. But with Mages adding the PS5 to the platform list for Memories Off Sousou, it will be the first time the newer console natively s an entry in the visual novel series.

The company added that Japan will not be the only country to get the new visual novel first. It will add Traditional and Simplified Chinese subtitles at launch and release the game in Chinese-speaking regions across Asia. The simultaneous release thus necessitated the delay in its release window.

Mages has also revealed the full Japanese voice cast list. All key characters—not only the heroines but also the protagonist and other ing characters—will have voiceovers in the visual novel.

Mages has revealed the main characters for Memories Off Sousou: Not Always True. The new title will appear as the ninth mainline entry to the long-running visual novel series.

The player will assume the role of Itsuki Kusumegi. The second-grade high school student is already assigned an unknown fiancee by his parents. The storyline will have a specific focus on Sae Sunomiya, a part-time worker at the Ressac restaurant and cafe who also attends the same school in the third grade. However, the story's early parts will have Sae harboring a negative impression of Itsuki due to a terrible first encounter at the restaurant.

Itsuki's childhood friend Nene Amaha will him in building a relationship with Sae, although she also harbors feelings towards the protagonist. Other heroine candidates will include fellow light novel enthusiast Kazune Kitakata, the delinquent senior Setsuka Nakamori, and the half-German soccer player Marie Akira Forster.

Memories Off Sousou will also have several other ing characters. The list includes Itsuki's best friend Arata Otani, the class teacher Tsubame Minami, the Ressac restaurant's chief trainer Shin Inaho, and Marie's teammate Hikari Kurauchi.

Mages will release the new ninth mainline entry to the visual novel series simultaneously on the PS4, Switch, and PC. The company had previously brought all prior mainline entries to the same platforms. That means when Sousou has come out, every mainline Memories Off entry will be available on those platforms.

Memories Off Sousou: Not Always True will be available for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam in 2024.
