During the February 2025 State of Play, Ultizero and Sony assigned Lost Soul Aside a May 30, 2025 release date, but now it’s delayed. While the Steam page still reflects that China Hero Project game’s original date, a new announcement confirmed the developer pushed back its launch by three months. It will now appear on the PS5 and PC on August 29, 2025.

The official statement about Lost Soul Aside being delayed offered a very brief explanation for it not showing up when expected. Basically, it is about quality control. Ultizero wants to ensure the game will be in the best possible position at launch. This means the three months will be used to “polish” it.

Here’s Yang Bing’s official statement about Lost Soul Aside:

“We are truly grateful for the positive response we've received from players all over the world since we announced Lost Soul Aside. We remain committed to delivering a high-quality game experience. To match the standards Ultizero Games have set for ourselves, we are going to take some additional time to polish the game. Lost Soul Aside will now release on August 29, 2025.

We want to express our heartfelt thanks to our fans waiting for the launch.”

As a reminder, we follow Kaser in Lost Soul Aside. He and his sister were a part of the GLIMMER resistance group fighting against a corrupt emperor and his government, but the invasion of interdimensional invaders changed their entire focus. Especially since Louisa was lost in the process. Kaser now faces these new opponents to save his sister and all humankind.

The last trailer for the title offered a little more insight into its story and gameplay, and you can see it below:

Lost Soul Aside 2020 Release

We didn't get to see much of the Final Fantasy XV-inspired action game Lost Soul Aside last year, but creator Yang Bing shared an update for 2020. [Thanks, @ZhugeEX via Gematsu.]

Yang Bing stated an interview with the Chinese media that his 2020 goal is to release the game sometime before the end of the year. He said that the team is doing everything they can to shape the game as best as they can, not only for the players but for the investors to have a better business return.

He also mentioned his wish to take the IP farther, so that by accumulating experience they can deliver in other genres, not just in this one for Lost Soul Aside.

Last year, the developers, Ultizero Games, skipped ChinaJoy 2019 in order to completely focus on the development of the main build instead of making a demo.

lost soul aside 2 Flashy action title Lost Soul Aside was absent during today’s ChinaJoy Sony conference, and it turns out that this is because the development team decided to focus on development rather than show off the game. This is also the same for Pervader.   Here are the messages from PlayStation CN regarding the respective teams: Lost Soul Aside: The team has grown since last year. Rather than make a demo for ChinaJoy 2019, they chose to completely focus on development of the main build. We fully respect creator Yangbing and the team. Development takes time. Just like Hardcore Mecha, the game will be completed.   Pervader: The team is still working on the game. They made the same choice as Lost Soul Aside.   Lost Soul Aside is in development for PlayStation 4. Pervader is in development for PlayStation VR.

[Thanks, Dualshockers!]   Here are the highlights: What made you go with Sony as opposed to other publishers that offered ? Yang Bing, developer: “To be specific, Sony has not become the game’s publisher. As of right now, we haven’t decided who the publisher will be, but we are working closely with Sony and they have given us a lot of help with development and PR.”   Is that all offered through China Hero Project? Yang Bing: “Yes, exactly. In 2016, they came to me after I had released the first trailer, and offered . Sony is a great partner for our game.”   lost soul aside 2   During PlayStation Experience, Lost Soul Aside‘s demo had a very high level of difficulty. What level of challenge are you targeting in the final game and how do you achieve a balance? Yang Bing: “We are currently still changing the difficulty based off of from PlayStation Experience, and maybe we will look at from GDC as well. We want people to actually enjoy the story because ours isn’t a pure action game. We still have storytelling and exploration, and we want most players to enjoy the narrative, environment, and world, and not just the fighting. Maybe we will have additional difficulty settings or just implement high-level dungeons in the game to ensure that action game players can also enjoy the game.”   You can read the full interview here.   Lost Soul Aside is in development for PlayStation 4.

2016-08-08_040233 One-man Chinese indie videogame developer Yang Bing made waves in the gaming community last month when he revealed the trailer for his game, Lost Soul Aside, which he created single-handedly. Soon after, he became bombarded with s from big-name publishers, extending offers to help him finish his game. However, in a few recent posts, Yang Bing described his indecision in regards to accepting any of the offers, saying the following in a Facebook post:

“I have thought that the reason I want to refuse their offer is the fear of tough life. But after talking with many of you I realized that the real reason is the fear of sharing my world.”

He went on to explain that his initial plan was to work on Lost Soul Aside’s world “little by little for maybe 10 years,” and that accepting any commercial offer would threaten to “take my world away from me.”   However, in that same post, Yang Bing did reveal that he has decided to take the opportunity and accept help from a publisher, ending with the following statement:

“Thank you everyone.I’ll try not to disappoint your expect and mine.It will be tough but I’d like to try.It was for myself but I’m glad to bring it to you now. Thank you again.”

In addition to all of that, Yang Bing also shared a new screenshot inspired by Onimusha, which he cites as being one of his favorite games, as well as a look at some new artwork.

LostSoulAside-9 Two years ago, Chinese indie developer Yang Bing saw a Final Fantasy XV trailer for the first time. So inspired was he that he set out to singlehandedly create his own videogame, titled Lost Soul Aside, with Unreal Engine 4. [Thanks, Dual Shockers.]

The results of his efforts are quite remarkable, especially given the fact that Yang Bing created the game on his own. To get a good look at his work, you can check out the trailer for Lost Soul Aside below.     For now, Yang Bing isn’t certain which platforms the game will see a release on, noting that Lost Soul Aside is, in his words, “far from complete.”
