Ahead of the debut of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater in August 2025, Konami shared the opening movie that includes the new version of the theme song. The company also confirmed that Cynthia Harrell is again performing “Snake Eater,” as she returned to rerecord the classic track. 

While the song is familiar, the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater opening movie is new. Konami noted Kyle Cooper rearranged and did it. There will also be ways to interact with it, though Konami didn’t say exactly what will change as we watch and press buttons during it. 

The video begins with newspapers setting the stage for the Cold War story before showing Naked Snake in different situations from the game. Other major characters like Colonel Yevgeny Borisovitch Volgin, The Fear, The End, and The Boss also appear. Also, at the 1:30 mark you can actually see Naked Snake eating a snake that he cooked over a fire.

We’ve seen quite a few updates before this latest reveal. For example, Konami shared the Japanese collector’s edition back in April 2025. That includes a bust of Naked Snake you can display and a FOX Unit patch you can add to clothing. 

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will come to the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on August 28, 2025. The original game appeared on the PS2, and Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D appeared on the 3DS.

Konami and Anime Expo announced that there will be a Silent Hill f at the event on July 4, 2025. This will be called “Unmasking Silent Hill f,” and it will happen at the event at 3:15pm PT. It is unknown if the will be streamed online for those unable to attend, though Anime Expo does have a Twitch channel. 

Three of the major developers behind Silent Hill f will attend the Anime Expo 2025 , so it is likely more insight into its development, story, and characters will come up. Producer Motoi Okamoto, Writer Ryukishi07, and Composer Akira Yamaoka will all take part. It will last for just under an hour. 

Konami did confirm there will be a question and answer portion of that presentation. The official English social media for the Silent Hill series is accepting questions from those who won’t be able to attend firsthand. The Japanese social media didn’t put out a call for questions, but did reiterate this is an entirely new, standalone entry in the series. 

Silent Hill f is currently in development for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and it will also be playable on a Steam Deck. A first trailer is available and the website is open.

Konami’s May 2025 Suikoden series showcase focused on introducing some Suikoden Star Leap characters and concepts, and we got to see Flik, Odessa Silverberg, and Viktor. As this is a prequel set about four years prior to the original game, it provides an opportunity to see them when they were younger, just starting out, and heading down paths that would lead to their increased involvement as major characters in Suikoden 1 and 2. We also get to see moments involving them in the story and as allies in fights in the latest trailer. 

In the case of Flik, Odessa, and Viktor, we get to see their Suikoden Star Leap portraits, two of them in a fight, and story scenes with each. Viktor comes up first, and we see him with Flik and Odessa, then wrestling a bear. Flik is introduced as he steps in to help the hero and new allies, and we see Odessa in a city scene immediately after that. We then see the two of them dealing with tricky situations, meeting with this entry’s original characters, and finally with Odessa ing this installment’s hero in battle to shoot her arrows at opponents.

Here’s the new Suikoden Star Leap trailer. It looks at characters, exploration, and how landmarks from mainline titles like Teo McDohl’s home will look in-game. While things start by introducing original characters such as Hisui, Shirin, and Shapur, it quickly brings up returning ones like Viktor, Flik, and Odessa and shows they’ll be playable.

Konami announced the second Suikoden Live broadcast, with this latest game showcase focusing on the new mobile game Suikoden Star Leap. It will air at 7am PT/10am ET on May 15, 2025, and we’ll be able to catch it on the official YouTube channel for the company again. 

The main attraction in the Suikoden Live will be Suikoden Star Leap, which will be considered a mainline game that acts as a prequel to the entries in Suikoden I & II HD Remaster. From what we’ve heard, it will follow how the Rune of Change, one of the True Runes, allows us to see both the past, present, and future of the series. Konami revealed it during the first broadcast back in March 2025. Kadokawa will also handle a manga version of its story once it debuts. We also know there will still be character recruiting, and past characters like Viki appeared in the first trailer for it.

Konami also noted there will be some talk about Suikoden I & II HD Remaster during this showcase too. That is headed to the Switch 2 after it launches. The company’s also been releasing patches for it regularly.

Hobby Japan announced on social media that it will once again sell its six Suikoden 1 and 2 character plush toys. Pre-orders opened in Japan ahead of a September 2025 return. AmiAmi also confirmed that, while limited, it will take pre-orders for each of them. They cost ￥3,300 (~$23) each. 

Each of these Suikoden dolls are about the standard size for these types of stuffed animals. They are 7 inches tall (18cm). Each one is a rendered in a chibi style designed to call to mind one of the leads from the series. They also arrived dressed in the outfits worn in the games, though these can’t be removed.

At the moment, AmiAmi does still ship worldwide, including to those of us in the US. A notice on its main page noted that it stopped offering surface mail () as a shipping option on April 9, 2025, as a result of tariffs inflicted by President Donald Trump. It’s important to keep an eye on storefronts now, due to the current trade war started by the president. As a result, stores such as Funstock and Good Smile Company announced measures like a pause in pre-orders or delayed shipments.

The Suikoden 1 and 2 character plush toys will debut again in Japan in September 2025. The Suikoden 1 and 2 HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars collection is available on the Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC worldwide.

Konami recently shared a message regarding fake social media s for Silent Hill f offering non-existent beta tests for the new game. These s will attempt to redirect s to phishing websites to obtain people’s data.

In addition to the fake beta test offers, these s are also claiming to hold events and other campaigns to try to take people’s personal information. In the message shared by the Japanese social media , Konami warned s to avoid interacting with any s offering beta tests and campaigns related to Silent Hill f. Konami also shared the message in its English social media.

The company reiterated that the only official websites for Silent Hill f are the official portal that was recently opened after the reveal of the game’s first trailer, as well as the X (formerly Twitter) social media where the message was shared. These are the only two official Silent Hill f websites currently available.

As a reminder, the first official trailer for Silent Hill f appeared on a recent SH Transmission stream, detailing information about the 1960 rural Japan setting of the game and its protagonist Hinako Shimizu. You can check out the trailer here.

Konami has launched Yu-Gi-Oh Card Game The Chronicles as a new spin-off series of promotional short anime episodes for the franchise produced internally by Konami Animation. The company plans to gradually publish a new episode on its Yu-Gi-Oh Official Card Game YouTube channel every month.

The first episode of the series is available to watch worldwide. It stars Sky Striker Ace - Raye, who has Anna Nagase as her Japanese voice actress. The episode tells about her frequent clashes against the fellow Sky Striker Ace - Roze, who is voiced by Nene Hieda.

The second episode in May 2025 is also slated to feature the Sky Striker Ace group. In June 2025, Konami will launch a new arc titled "The Fallen & The Virtuous" in the same series.

The new spin-off anime is available to watch right below. Subtitles are available in not only Japanese and English but also Korean and Chinese (Traditional and Simplified).

Sky Striker Ace is a group of Yu-Gi-Oh monster cards that comprises multiple characters. Some of them have also received figure releases, such as Raye, Roze, and Kagari.

The first episode of Yu-Gi-Oh Card Game The Chronicles, starring Sky Striker Ace - Raye, is now available worldwide. The next episode will appear in May 2025.

Konami has revealed the contents of the collector’s edition of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater in Japan, and it features a bust statue of Naked Snake with a white snake wrapped around him. Known as the Pack, this limited edition is exclusive to the Konami Style online store. It is unknown if we could see the bust appear outside Japan as part of other special editions. In addition to the aforementioned bust, the Edition includes an original vinyl soundtrack, an exclusive SteelBook game case with the original Yoji Shinkawa art for Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and a FOX Unit patch. All of this will be packaged in a special collector’s box with renders of the main cast on display. A special clear file folder is also included as an early purchase bonus.

The PS5 version of the Pack costs 38,500 yen (or about $266.41), and it also includes the White Tuxedo DLC costume. A version of the Pack that includes only the physical collectable goods without the game nor DLCs is also available, and it costs 29,920 yen (~$207.05).

Meanwhile, the overseas collector’s edition of Metal Gear Solid Delta was revealed on June 2024 and it includes a terrarium diorama of Snake trekking through the Tselinoyarsk jungle. Other Japanese store-specific limited editions of Metal Gear Solid Delta were revealed earlier on February 2025 and one includes a skateboard deck.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will come out on August 28, 2025 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam. Pre-orders for the game are now open.

Tokimeki Idol will no longer be available for from May 16, 2025. The official X (formerly Twitter) social for the game will also become inactive. This means the Tokimeki Memorial spin-off game, which only appeared in Japan, will be completely gone starting next month.

Though Tokimeki Idol ended service in January 2019, the offline version of the game is still available to . Currently, only new players on iOS can the game, whereas you have to have installed it in the past to get it for Android. After May 16, 2025, however, the game won’t be available in the mobile storefronts, even if you previously ed it. s who’ve already gotten Tokimeki Idol won’t be affected, as the game is offline anyway. So if you’re on iOS and are interested in the game, you should it before it goes away forever.

Konami also reminds people that it won’t provide any after May 16, 2025. Should anything go wrong with your game after that date, you’ll need to figure it out on your own.

Tokimeki Idol is based off the highly influential dating sim series, Tokimeki Memorial. The game came out in March 2018, but it ended online service less than a year later in January 2019. Like similar games in the genre, you can choose an idol out of fifteen possible choices and, as their producer, help them to achieve their dreams of performing on the big stage.

Tokimeki Idol is available on mobile devices, though you need to have installed it in the past if you want to get it now on Android. After May 16, 2025, the offline version will no longer be available in shops. However, you can still play it after that date if you have the game on your device.

Those who hoped for a handheld Silent Hill f experience might be able to manage that, as the Steam product page for the new game in the series noted it is “playable” on a Steam Deck. This means while it isn’t “verified” and guaranteed to run perfectly on the device, it should work. The latest entry is due to appear on PCs, as well as consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X. The detailed explanation suggests that some adjustments will be needed to ensure Silent Hill f works on a Steam Deck. The important one is that the compatibility discussion mentions “manual configuration of graphics settings.” The system requirements already noted that someone only clearing the minimum specs would need to go with a lower resolution, framerate, and the mode that prioritizes Performance over (graphics) Quality. So this suggests someone playing on a handheld PC gaming device would need to go with lower or the lowest settings to make it work. Said explanation also mentioned some text could be small, but there is a magnifier function on Steam Decks that could help with that.

Speaking of which, the full PC system requirements for Silent Hill f also appeared on the Steam page, so those with Steam Deck, handheld gaming PCs, or standard computers can see how their rig would stand up to the game. First, here are the minimum specs we need to run it. Konami noted that people with builds around this point would need to go with 720p, 30fps, and Performance mode.

The Japanese April 2025 Nintendo Switch 2 Direct included several games that were exclusively revealed there, just like the previous Direct for the original Switch in March 2025. The order of the game reveals is almost the same, and the GameCube classics also have the exact same lineups. However, we have spotted three Nintendo Switch 2 games that appeared only in Japan and not in the American Direct.

The first difference we spotted in the Japanese Direct is Obakeidoro 2 appearing in the place of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4. This game will appear as the sequel to the 2019 game that had major updates in 2022 with a Castlevania crossover DLC set and a PC port. Free Style will release the new sequel in Summer 2025.

The second exclusive title is Shine Post: Be Your Idol, which was substituted by Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions in the American Direct. This is the same title Konami has been working on, and its appearance in this Direct revealed that Switch 2 is the intended console after the company moved it from mobile devices. This game will be available on the same day as the Nintendo Switch 2's launch on June 5, 2025.

The third Japan-exclusive title in the Switch 2 Direct was Ys X -Proud Nordics-, and it appeared very briefly in the rapid sizzle reel. Nihon Falcom has set Summer 2025 as the release window for the game's Japanese version. Goodnight Universe appeared on this game's slot in the American Direct.

In addition, Nintendo revealed additional details about the Switch 2 units near the end of the Japanese Direct and on the Japanese website. Most of the consoles sold regularly in Japan will be strictly intended for use domestically in the country, as people can only link Nintendo s that have the country/region entry set to Japan. This includes the regular console available at 49,980 yen (~$333.55) and the Mario Kart World bundle at 53,980 yen (~$360.25). Nintendo will instead sell the multi-language version of the console exclusively on the My Nintendo Store site at 69,980 yen (~$467) in Japan.

Nintendo Switch 2 will be available simultaneously worldwide on June 5, 2025.

Konami has put out a statement defining what constitutes as customer harassment, as well as stating that it will protect its employees against it. The company will both the police and its lawyers to deal with such incidents.

Examples of customer harassment include:

• Defamatory behavior and remarks
• Intimidation
• Offensive remarks
• Physical violence
• Threats
• Unauthorized recording of employees, as well as the unauthorized distribution of such recordings

Comments telling the employees to kill themselves, as well as offensive remarks on their race or gender or religion, also fall under customer harassment.

Konami’s rules against customer harassment take cues from a new ordinance against customer harassment that the Tokyo Metropolitan Government ed at the start of April 2025. It’s the first of its kind in the country. These laws protect workers from customers who make aggressive and unreasonable demands, and the government released guidelines in December 2024 to define what constitutes as “customer harassment.”

“Customer harassment" or "kasuhara" has been an ongoing problem in Japan for years. A potential reason for this is that companies always put the customer first, which results in entitled behavior in consumers. Japan is also famous for its high standards of hospitality. The high level of service customers come to expect may also make for unreasonable expectations.

Konami is not the first video game company to put out a warning defining customer harassment and vowing to protect its employees. Square Enix did the same thing earlier this year. But with this new ordinance from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, more companies may start to put their foot down in regards to abusive behavior towards their staff.

Konami announced the various pre-order bonuses for Tokimeki Memorial: Forever With You Emotional. You have to get the physical versions of the game if you want to order from these storefronts and receive the pre-order bonuses. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

While the various storefronts offer both the original and the deluxe versions of the game, they will give you the pre-order bonus no matter which one you get. As a note, the deluxe version of the game comes with three pieces of digital content: the opening movie without any credits, a digital soundtrack containing tracks from the series, and a gallery of character illustrations.

Here are the pre-order bonuses each storefront is offering for Tokimeki Memorial: Forever With You Emotional:

• Amazon: PC and smartphone wallpaper (no picture as of the time of writing)

Konami first revealed Tokimeki Memorial: Forever With You Emotional in August 2024 during the Japanese Nintendo Direct stream. It is a remaster of the first game in the long-running and highly influential Tokimeki Memorial series, which came out 30 years ago in 1994. Aside from new features, it also boasts remastered graphics and interface. For those who prefer nostalgia or the original visuals, you can swap back to them, or even mix and match them with the more modern ones.

Tokimeki Memorial: Forever With You Emotional will come out in Japan on May 8, 2025 for the Nintendo Switch.

Konami shared an update on Edens Zero and, as part of that, it confirmed the release date and pre-order bonuses for the game. It will launch on July 15, 2025. However, if you get the Deluxe Edition, you can play on July 12, 2025. The two pre-order items will be cosmetic bonuses. 

The Edens Zero game will be based on the manga and anime. As such, the pre-order bonuses may sound familiar. Regardless of where we play it, we can get the Hunter Attire for Pino. However, the other item is tied to different platforms. On Steam, we get Dragon Wings for Shiki. Different types of back flags are available for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC via other storefronts.

To go along with the Edens Zero release date reveal, there’s also a new video. The trailer mostly showcases cutscenes and gameplay taken from the title. However, the end shows the pre-order bonuses and the Deluxe Edition that includes the Gaming Equipment Set (Male) cosmetic DLC, Cyber Equipment Set (Female) cosmetic DLC), Lacrima Set, and Starter Item Pack add-on.

If you do want to catch up, it’s fairly easy to. The Edens Zero manga ended back in June 2024. Kodansha released the series worldwide. 

The Edens Zero game will come to the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on July 15, 2025. Deluxe Edition early access starts on July 12, 2025. Kodansha handles the manga outside of Japan, while the anime is on Netflix.

The Classification Board in Australia has no longer refused classification for Silent Hill f, despite reports over the past weekend. The horror game is now awaiting classification ahead of its release. This update came after Stevivor received an official comment from the board regarding the new game's status. [Thanks, Stevivor!]

The Australian Classification Board initially featured a page that revealed Silent Hill f had been refused classification, meaning it was effectively banned from sale in the country. However, this appears to be an automatic classification provided through the IARC Global Rating Tool, which publishers can use to self-report the content of their game.

However, it’s historically been a problem in Australia, where games tend to get an automatic rating higher than the one assigned by the Classification Board itself. Games such as We Happy Few and Kingdom Come: Deliverance have also been reported to have been refused for classification through this system, despite releasing in Australia without issue. A recent statement from the Board itself has confirmed that Silent Hill f is still awaiting a rating and has not been refused classification in Australia.

The Australian Classification Board has a rocky history with video games. This is due to the highest rating (R 18+) originally not being applied to games in the way they would for movies. This was changed in 2013, but its requirements remain strict. Games which feature drug use as a form of reward, sexual violence or "high impact violence” are usually refused classification. Silent Hill f’s Steam page features a warning about the game containing child abuse and drug-induced hallucinations. These are likely reasons for why the system initially claimed the game has been refused classification.

Silent Hill f is the next game in Konami’s horror series. Originally announced in 2022, a full trailer was shown off at the latest Silent Hill Transmission in March 2025. It will be set in Japan during the 1960s and features a story written by Ryukishi07 (When They Cry series).
