Square Enix revealed a new Form-Ism figure of the Kingdom Hearts II version of the series protagonist Sora. This figure will appear worldwide in 2025.

The static figure will show Sora brandishing his Keyblade while stepping on a base shaped after the series' crown icon. Square Enix added that it will use clear parts to produce the base crown.

While Square Enix usually sell its figures on its own web stores, this Sora figure has yet to appear on any of its regional web outlets as of this announcement. The figure is instead spotted first on AmiAmi, which also s worldwide shipping via its English website.

AmiAmi has set March 2025 as the release window for the Sora Form-Ism figure. While Square Enix has apparently set an MSRP of 7,480 yen, AmiAmi is setting a discounted price of 6,730 yen (~$44.25).

There have been many figures based on Kingdom Hearts series characters released in recent years. A majority of them appeared in 2022, when Square Enix celebrated the franchise's 20th anniversary.

The Kingdom Hearts II Sora Form-Ism figure will be available worldwide in March 2025.

Square Enix revealed new Halloween-themed Kingdom Hearts hair clips that will appear ahead of the season. The company has opened pre-orders for the Kingdom Hearts II Halloween Town hair clips on its Japanese e-Store. It will formally release the items in early October 2024, which also gives people ample time to prepare ahead of the celebrations at the end of the month.

The hair clips will be available in two different sets. While both of them will feature the pumpkin icon, Set A will come with a crown icon, while Set B will instead replace it with a heart icon. Both sets will have the same price tag of 1,980 yen (~$12.85).

Square Enix also shared more sample images that show how people can use the hair clips. These clips will not be only usable on the hair, as people can also attach them to other items, such as tote bags.

The company has been revealing numerous merchandise related to the Kingdom Hearts game series in 2024. The items range from new releases such as stained glass-like acrylic mirrors and Organization XIII glasses to restocked items like Soba bowls and Heartless plushes.

Square Enix will release the Kingdom Hearts II Halloween Town hair clips on October 3, 2024.

Square Enix is re-running several plush dolls from the Kingdom Hearts series, including ones of Roxas, Axel, and Xion from Kingdom Hearts III. The North American Square Enix store is offering these plushes as well.

The only Kingdom Hearts plush that isn’t available in the North American store is the one depicting Halloween Town Sora from the second game. However, the North American store does feature Christmas Town Sora, in which he’s wearing a black Santa-like outfit. This look was an addition to the Final Mix version of II. Originally, even when Sora went to Christmas Town from Halloween Town, he was still sporting his Halloween Town look.

The plushes cost around $43.99 via the North American Square Enix store and 4180 JPY on the Japanese one. Both stores price King Mickey a little higher, likely because Square Enix has to pay an additional fee or royalty of some kind to Disney.

The Japanese store offers them as a pre-order, and they’ll come out on September 14, 2024. Meanwhile, perhaps because the North American store never ran out of the plushes and needed to re-run them, they’re readily available there.

Kingdom Hearts III, the latest mainline entry in the series, is readily available on the PS4, Windows PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.

The second of three Kingdom Hearts Riku Nendoroids has a release window. Good Smile Company has been preparing different renditions of Sora and Riku based on their Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts ii and Kingdom Hearts 3 appearances. Now, we know Riku will return to Japan in June 2021 and North America in July 2021 with a version based upon the second outing. As such, he wields a very appropriate Keyblade.

Being that he’s based on an older Riku, this Kingdom Hearts Nendoroid looks pretty different from the one that debuted in January 2019. His outfit is completely different, and he has longer hair and a more mature face. He also wields a Way to the Dawn Keyblade, rather than the Oblivion and Soul Eater ones included with the first Riku. He also has a greater degree of articulation, his his shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees all bend for more dynamic poses. He has smiling and serious faces and Kairi’s letter with its bottle.

There’s also a part for the Kingdom Hearts II Sora Nendoroid with Riku. You get a hand that lets him look like he’s reading Kairi’s letter too.

As a reminder, at least two more Kingdom Hearts Nendoroids are on the way. Back in October 2020, Kingdom Hearts III versions of each character were announced.

The Kingdom Hearts II Riku Nendoroid will launch in June 2021 in Japan and July 2021 in North America. Pre-orders are open until January 6, 2021, and the figure will cost $45.99.

We got a peek at Riku’s new looks in Kingdom Hearts III recently, and it didn’t take long for Square Enix to give us a glimpse of his new Bring Arts figure that is in the works.   Here’s a look at the full image that was shared on Square Enix’s official merchandise Twitter:   We also got a look at two new Kingdom Hearts II Sora Bring Arts figures, “Sora Halloween Town Ver.” and “Sora Christmas Town Ver.”:   And lastly, here’s a series 30th anniversary item, the “Final Fantasy Pocket Pouch Chocobo” which will be available for 2,400 yen plus tax:   Information on the release dates and pricing for the figures will be revealed on a later date.   Kingdom Hearts III’s release is still scheduled for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2018. Kingdom Hearts II from Boss Fight Books is a new book that delves into the story of the game of the same name, looking at the connection between Sora and Riku, as well as the seemingly-ridiculous connection between Final Fantasy and Disney, and how they form a powerful portrayal of human relationships.

The book, from writer Alexa Ray Corriea, (GameSpot, Polygon, G4), looks to explore how the game portrays friendships, in all their complexity, alongside its mashup of lores and worlds. Through the bond between Sora and Riku, their rivalry, and their own dark journeys, the book examines how the ups and downs of human companionship, giving a more accurate, touching portrayal of friendship than most games manage to do.
