Square Enix opened pre-orders for a new Kingdom Hearts 2 Form-Ism figure of Riku. The figure costs 7,480 yen (or approximately $49.85), and it is expected to release on August 30, 2025. So far, orders are only open in Japan and the US storefront hasn't updated yet.

The static figure shows Riku in his KH2 design, striking a combat pose while wielding his signature Way to the Dawn keyblade. Riku is posed on a purple platform in the shape of the Heartless sigil, which is in turn posed on top of a basic circular base.

So far, the figure has only seen a page open on the Japanese Square Enix storefront. However, AmiAmi has a listing for the figure, and the website offers international shipping through its English website.

Square Enix previously announced another Kingdom Hearts 2 Form-Ism figure of Sora back in late October 2024. The Sora figure is set to release on late April 2025 in Japan, and it is still available from the Japanese Square Enix online store.

The Kingdom Hearts II Riku Form-Ism figure costs 7,480 yen (~$49.85) and is now available for pre-order from the Square Enix online store and from AmiAmi. The figure will be available worldwide on August 2025.

To commemorate the 15th anniversary of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep (BBS), which launched on January 9, 2010 in Japan, Share Enix once again shared the secret ending video from the second game and a message from Tetsuya Nomura about the series. At the end of the statement, the director suggested that we still have yet to hear about what the Lost Masters gained and lost when they met at a crossroads in Kingdom Hearts III. 

First, here’s the full Kingdom Hearts II secret ending, which marked the first appearance of Kingdom Hearts BBS heroes Aqua, Terra, and Ventus. In it, all three were wearing full suits of armor, meeting at X-shaped crossroads while grabbing their keyblades.

And here is the full Tetsuya Nomura statement in which he discussed the importance of crossroads in the Kingdom Hearts series and hinted that we still haven’t heard the story about the Lost Masters yet.

There are two Kingdom Hearts games in development that we know about at the moment. One is Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link for mobile devices. That was supposed to launch in 2024, but ended up delayed. The other is Kingdom Hearts 4, which was teased at the end of the third entry.

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep first appeared on the PlayStation Portable worldwide, and it is now available on the PS3, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and PC via Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix.

Square Enix revealed a new Form-Ism figure of the Kingdom Hearts II version of the series protagonist Sora. This figure will appear worldwide in 2025.

The static figure will show Sora brandishing his Keyblade while stepping on a base shaped after the series' crown icon. Square Enix added that it will use clear parts to produce the base crown.

While Square Enix usually sell its figures on its own web stores, this Sora figure has yet to appear on any of its regional web outlets as of this announcement. The figure is instead spotted first on AmiAmi, which also s worldwide shipping via its English website.

AmiAmi has set March 2025 as the release window for the Sora Form-Ism figure. While Square Enix has apparently set an MSRP of 7,480 yen, AmiAmi is setting a discounted price of 6,730 yen (~$44.25).

There have been many figures based on Kingdom Hearts series characters released in recent years. A majority of them appeared in 2022, when Square Enix celebrated the franchise's 20th anniversary.

The Kingdom Hearts II Sora Form-Ism figure will be available worldwide in March 2025.

A pop-up store for the Kingdom Hearts series will appear in Shibuya Parco from October 2, 2024. It’ll focus especially on the Halloween Town world, since it’s October and thus, Halloween season.

The pop-up store will be available from October 2 to October 14, 2024. Items in the store are considered advance sales, which means that even if you miss the pop-up store, you’ll be able to buy everything at a later date. However, there may be a difference in price. You can find a list of items that will be at the pop-up store below:

• Acrylic stand: 1650 JPY (3 variations)
• Hair clip set: 1980 JPY (2 variations)
• T-shirt: 4950 JPY (2 variations)
• Tote bag: 3960 JPY (2 variations)

All of the items feature Sora, Donald, and Goofy in their Halloween Town get-up. You can also get a t-shirt with Jack Skellington, as well as a tote bag featuring Jack, Sally, and Zero. There aren’t any Kingdom Hearts characters in those ones. So fans of The Nightmare Before Christmas who aren’t necessarily Kingdom Hearts fans can get those.

The Nightmare Before Christmas isn’t only having a resurgence among the Kingdom Hearts fandom in 2024. Yana Toboso designed a cute anime boy version of Jack Skellington for Aniplex’s Twisted Wonderland. His name is Skully J. Graves and he’s in the “Lost in the book with Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” event, which started on October 1, 2024.

The Kingdom Hearts pop-up store will appear at Shibuya Parco between October 2 and 14, 2024.

Square Enix announced a Kingdom Heats 2 Munny Pouch will be available for purchase on September 21, 2024. Pre-orders for the item are available through the Square Enix online storefront. The pouch will cost 3,300 yen or roughly $23.

The pouch itself is modeled after the hand-made Munny pouch made by Olette and used by Roxas and friends during the prologue of Kingdom Hearts 2. It features a handstitched patch on the front and drawstrings to close the pouch.

While new merchandise for the Kingdom Hearts continues roll out at a steady pace, new information about Kingdom Heats 4 has appeared. Series creator Tetsuya Nomura revealed that Kingdom Hearts 4 is the beginning of the end. In an interview with Young Jump, he stated that while he doesn't know how long the series will take to reach it's conclusion after the release of Kingdom Hearts 4, only that this is the starting chapter to whatever the end of the series will be.

Kingdom Hearts, and Kingdom Hearts 2, is now available on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via the Epic Games Store and Steam.
