Ahead of Evo 2024, SNK seemed to be teasing that King of Fighters mainstays Vice and Mature would return for KOF XV. Now it is confirmed, with the duo debuting in December 2024 on all platforms. 

When SNK first suggested the reveal, it put together overlapping silhouettes. This made it seem as though there was potentially only one character, instead of two. However, the two women’s signature hairstyles and outfits were still visible. 

Here is the official reveal trailer. As the two aren’t appearing until the end of the year, there’s no gameplay for either of them yet. However, the video does show how both of the women will look in the new game. Their costumes, which match each other only with different color schemes, were both on display. The announcement trailer also confirmed that they will both be released on the same day alongside each other.

Vice and Mature are the only KOF XV DLC characters confirmed for 2024 so far. The last two fighters to the cast both showed up in the second half of 2023. These were Duo Lon in September 2023, followed by Hinako Shijo in November 2023.

SNK shared a silhouette of the KOF XV Evo 2024 DLC reveal, and it could be Vice and Mature. While the image is combined into one black shadow, it almost seems to look like two characters are overlapping on top of each other. 

Here is SNK’s announcement on social media. As pointed out by a named Lyraaaaaaa, the shadows near the characters’ heads are a clear distinction. Mature is taller than Vice and wears her blonde hair in a ponytail with exaggerated bangs. Meanwhile, Vice is slightly shorter and has short, brown hair. Both women wear matching outfits with frilled cuffs, which explains why the arms match. Also, they each wear skirts with slits on opposite sites, which would make it look like one skirt for the silhouette. Finally, as both are Orochi descendants who work for Rugal Bernstein and appear on the same team in past entries.

The last KOF game both Vice and Mature appeared in was The King of Fighters XIV. They were a part of Yagami Team with Iori. Likewise, both of them were paired up with him in KOF XIII. However, on occasion they do work with others, such as when the two were on the Mature Ladies Team with Vanessa.

It’s actually been a while since a new KOF XV DLC character appeared. The last one was Hinako Shijo in November 2023. Before that, Duo Lon ed in September 2023.

SNK confirmed the release date for the final Season 2 DLC character in The King of Fighters XV. Hinako Shijo will appear in KOF XV on November 14, 2023. The sumo-practicing schoolgirl who debuted in KOF 2000 will return with Akane Tamura replacing Ayako Kawasumi as her voice actress.

SNK initially revealed Hinako in October 2023 with a Winter release window. The finalized release date of November 14, 2023, means that the company has pushed the actual release forward. The Winter window would usually go from December to February, while November is still part of the Fall season.

Hinako's inclusion will wrap up the Season 2 Fighter content additions for KOF XV in 2023. Throughout the year, SNK gradually added Shingo Yabuki, Kim Kaphwan, Sylvie Paula Paula, Najd, and Duo Lon. It also slipped in Goenitz as a free update character in June 2023. Once Hinako Shijo becomes available in KOF XV, the fighting game will have a total of 59 playable characters in its roster.

SNK has published a new character teaser trailer for The King of Fighters XV. In the short clip, it's revealed that Hinako Shijo will make her appearance as a new playable character in KOF XV this Winter via a DLC update.

Hinako Shijo is not a brand-new character, as she made her playable debut in The King of Fighters 2000. She also appeared in KOF 2001 and 2003. Although Hinako was absent in the original release of KOF 2002, SNK added her in the Unlimited Match remake.

Ayako Kawasumi of Fate/stay night's Saber fame used to voice Hinako for her appearances in the 2000s-era games. KOF XV will instead have Akane Tamura as her new Japanese voice actress.

Hinako Shijo will also be the last fighter to KOF XV via the 6-character Season 2 Fighter . The pack also gives players access to Shingo Yabuki, Kim Kaphwan, Sylvie Paula Paula, Najd, and Duo Lon who are all already available as of this announcement. SNK also added Goenitz as a free update character that can be accessed by everyone, even if they do not purchase the .

The King of Fighters XV is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Hinako Shijo will be available as a DLC character in the Winter 2023 window, which runs between December 2023 and February 2024.

SNK revealed the release date for Duo Lon, the latest DLC character for KOF XV. The Hizoku clan assassin will become available to play as (or against) on September 12, 2023, to those who purchase the $5.99 add-on or $29.99 Fighter . There's also a new trailer showing him off.

Duo Lon is an assassin who fights using dark magic, teleporting, and extendable limbs. He uses his speed and mobility to neutralize opponents. In the trailer, you can see him trading words with Najd, Ash and Elisabeth before unleashing a special attack on Gato. Duo Lon also mentions Shen Woo, another character who is not yet playable in KOF XV.

Duo Lon was originally revealed as a DLC fighter for KOF XV at Evo 2023. The previous DLC fighter, Najd, had her release date revealed at that event. That's also when her own trailer and character breakdown appeared too. There is one final character remaining in this round of DLC. While their identity is unknown they are scheduled for release in Winter 2023.

At Evo 2023, SNK announced a release date for the KOF XV Najd DLC, as well as confirmed Duo Lon will follow her. She will show up on August 8, 2023. After that, he'll follow sometime in Autumn 2023 with "specific character refinements.

First, here's the new trailer that shows both the Najd and Duo Lon DLC in KOF XV. She’s the initial focus, as we get to see her introduction. It also confirms that Ayaka Fukuhara will voice her. Duo Lon hasn’t been in as many characters as other KOF fighters. He made his debut back in KOF 2003 on the PS2, then returned for KOF XI, XII, and XIII. He skipped KOF XIV before returning as an add-on for this installment.

A new KOF XV character breakdown video appeared on the SNK Youtube channel, this time showcasing Najd the Saudi vigilante. The video goes over how her moves work and the overall strategy she encourages. It could prove useful to anyone wanting to play her or just anticipating lots of players trying her out online when she launches in Summer 2023.

Najd's playstyle focuses on getting in close, breaking your opponent's defense, and then hitting them with an attack that can power up her Specials. She does this with a variety of moves like overheads and cross-ups, before using the opening to land a move called Anticipated Power. Successful hits with Anticipated Power increase the level of her special, Retribution of the Unknown. That is a leaping attack that gains speed, knockback and new follow-up opportunities based on her level of power.

Earlier in July 2023, Najd appeared in a character trailer along with the announcement that she would be playable at EVO 2023. Originally introduced in KOF XIV, Najd is a college student who patrols the streets at night using her power to manipulate darkness. While carrying out her vigilante work, she disguises herself with a scarlet Abaya, which is a form of traditional garment in Saudi Arabia. As seen in the trailer, her particularly retributive brand of justice causes her to clash with characters like Kim Kaphwan.

SNK recently added KOF XV cross-play in an update that also featured free DLC character Goenitz. Back in May 2023, Sylvie Paula Paula was also added as part of the Fighter DLC, which also includes Najd.

KOF XV is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, with Najd becoming available in Summer, 2023. She can be bought separately for $5.99 or as part of the Fighter for $29.99, which comes with Sylvie Paula Paula, Shingo Yabuki, Kim and two currently unannounced characters.

The wind-wielding Goenitz will appear in KOF XV later this month as part of a free update that also brings cross-play. Goenitz will be available as both a playable character and a boss challenge with unlockable rewards. Ahead of the update, which goes live on June 20,2023, SNK released a character trailer.

Goenitz is a member of the Four Heavenly Kings of Orochi, along with Shermie, Yashiro and Chris. Defeating Goenitz in Boss Challenge mode will reward players with a new stage, The Strange Plateau, and a new BGM, "Trash Head -KOF XV ver-." It will also award a new costume and a title.

The addition of cross-platform play will allow players on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, or PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, or Windows Store to face each other regardless of platform. It was previously announced as part of the update roap, and an open beta test appeared in late April 2023. 

The next character set to arrive is Najd, the Saudi Arabian vigilante.

Now that Sylvie Paula Paula is playable in The King of Fighters XV, SNK updated the official site to go over her KOF XV backstory and Bellamy "interview." The story revealed that she got interested in competing after running into Kukri, and Shermie helped her enter the tournament. Meanwhile, the interview went over her affection for other characters like Athena and Kula.

With the interview, it mainly went over her attire and different characters. As in the last game, she’s still connected to both Kukri and Mian. He’s even described as her rival in this installment. This backstory segment also noted her affection for Athena and Kula, as how she appreciates both’s appearance and attitude.

As for the reason why she ed, it started when she encountered Kukri in Paris after seeing Mian in China. She brought up how Otoma=Raga was mentioned, and he told her to keep out of it. She brought up the encounter and her displeasure at his reaction when spending time with Shermie. Shermie then offered Sylvie Paula Paula a KOF Special Invitation Letter so she’d have a chance to see for herself and encounter Kukri again.

SNK posted a new KOF XV Character Breakdown video focused on the Sylvie Paula Paula showcasing her moveset in The King of Fighters. The teaser gives a technical look at what she can do in this entry for players wanting to prepare for the character’s arrival. Branding a new style with a dark color palette reminiscent of gothic Lolita fashion, her attack list relies heavily on lightning and electric attacks.

The Sylvie Paula Paula Character Breakdown trailer shows her playstyle focuses mainly on dashing moves and hard-hitting close combat, due to her melee attacks’ short range. Some attacks like Magne-Missile, Super Magnetic-Pop, and Guillo-Ton help players pressure their opponents at close range.

As for her special moves, these attacks mainly compensate for the distance with moves such as Thunderous Drip. It shoots a bolt of lightning through the floor across the stage. Magneto-Trapo grabs enemies at mid-range, then lets her stomp on them closer for follow-up combos.

We already knew the Sylvie Paula Paula DLC would come to KOF XV in Summer 2023. Now we have an exact release date. SNK said people can pick up the add-on on May 16, 2023. She will be a paid addition. Players who get it will get both her and an additional costume.

Here's the official KOF XV Sylvie Paula Paula announcement trailer. It notes Mio will return as her official voice actress. She played the character in her debut game, which was KOF XIV, as well as SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy. At the 2:15 mark, we can see the extra outfit. That costume is inspired by her debut appearance.

The PlayStation Store trial is notable for the number of characters. 15 people from the full roster are present. You can’t go online with it, but someone can take part in offline Versus matches or test out the Training mode.

When new characters KOF XV, SNK tends to release a short story and Bellamy interview alongside their debut, and Kim Kaphwan is no different. The official site updated with both. The Bellamy interview is an “in-character” means of seeing what place he’s in ahead of his debut. However, the story offers more insight into why he’s taking part in this installment’s tournament.

The Bellamy interview points out how this DLC is a bit different than others That’s because while some add-ons featured teams of characters appearing, two did not. Both Kim and Shingo Yabuki appeared on their own. So in the interview, “Kim” said “he’d be a fun choice” as a teammate.

As for the Kim Kaphwan KOF XV story, it begins with him in the moments after Gang-Il went with him there to train. Kim protected the villagers there from bears and took part in various exercises. He ended up getting his KOF Special Invitation Letter while there, and headed off to compete after he'd finished his preparations.

The King of Fighters XV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Kim Kaphwan DLC is out now. Some of the next DLC characters will be Sylvie Paula Paula, Goenitz, and Najd.

They’ll be among the seven new characters ing the roster in 2023. While Sylvie Paula Paula and Najd are paid add-ons coming this summer, Goenitz will be free. Kim Kaphwan also got an April 4, 2023 release date as well.

First, here’s the updated KOF XV Season 2 DLC roap. It started with Shingo Yabuki, who debuted on January 17, 2023 alongside character rebalancing. Then, it shows Kim Kaphwan on April 4, 2023. SNK noted that Summer 2023 will mark the arrival of the free Cross Platform update and Goenitz DLC, as well as the paid Sylvie Paula Paula add-on. Najd will show up as paid DLC in Summer 2023 s well. Finally, two more characters will appear in Autumn and Winter 2023.
