KFC in China announced a crossover event with Honkai: Star Rail, which will take place starting on January 17, 2025. Though the previous event was a more general one for the game, this year's features the playable characters from Yaoqing—specifically Jiaoqiu and Feixiao. [Thanks, Genshin Goods!]

For starters, you can purchase goods like badges and red envelopes. There are also two types of combos you can order in-store during the Honkai: Star Rail KFC campaign. The first one is for the New Year. This combo costs 60 CNY ($8.20). It comes with a set of acrylic straps (depicting Feixiao and Jiaoqiu), as well as an in-game sticker and smartphone wallpaper. You will also receive a spicy sauce item, along with a recipe for it.

The other combo costs 42 CNY ($5.75) and it comes with a burger, egg tart, and drink. Like a Happy Meal from McDonald’s, this combo will come with one of four different toys. You cannot choose which one you get. All of the toys are Lunar New Year-themed, so they have plenty of red and lucky characters. The variations are: Pom-Pom, a Diting, a Wubbawoo, and Owlbert.

Though not part of any combo, ordering a latte between January 17 and February 2, 2025 can net you a free coffee sleeve and mug. The mug depicts Moze while the sleeve has Feixiao on it. Finally, from January 19 to 25, 2025, a food cart will appear around China. Standees of Jiaoqiu and Feixiao will appear near these food carts, and the KFC stores in China will also feature them during the promotional campaign.

The KFC Japan X (formerly known as Twitter) has posted a teaser for an Umamusume: Pretty Derby collaboration or event. More information about it will come out on August 20, 2024.

There is virtually no information about this outside of several hashtags and a picture of a mysterious horse girl with Colonel Sanders’s unique facial characteristics. Even those who are unfamiliar with Umamusume, however, should be able to recognize the face as Gold Ship’s. She’s wearing Colonel Sanders’s mustache and glasses. People are using some of the hashtags in KFC’s Tweet to post fanart, comics, and pictures. Aside from artwork of Gold Ship eating fried chicken, there are also people posting photos of a Gold Ship nui in front of an actual KFC order.

Though she’s not exactly a protagonist, Gold Ship in Umamusume: Pretty Derby is the mascot and main personality of PakaTube, which is the official channel for Umamusume. Her popularity stems not only from her looks, but also her eccentric behavior. The real-life horse Gold Ship is also beloved by fans for his unique personality. As such, even disregarding her status as the official spokeshorse for PakaTube, it may not be surprising that Cygames or KFC would choose her for a special crossover.

More details on the Umamusume: Pretty Derby collaboration with KFC will come out on August 20, 2024. Umamusume: Pretty Derby is readily available on mobile devices and Windows PC in Japan, and the English version is in development.

Hypergryph announced an Arknights collaboration meal will be available for a limited time at KFC in Japan. You’ll be able to start purchasing it from May 16, 2024.

The collaboration menu will be available from May 16, 2024, and it will run until June 6, 2024. You can only purchase this if you make an online order. Technically speaking, these items are not anything special. The food is the normal KFC fare, unlike how Sushiro had special Genshin Impact items or McDonald’s had a special One Piece flavor. Instead, these meals will include codes that’ll unlock KFC outfits, as well as furniture based on the characters. Exusiai’s set will cost 1500 JPY (since it comes with more food) and Croissant’s will cost 960 JPY. The furniture meal will cost 800 JPY.

Aside from a real-life meal you can purchase, the Arknights and KFC collaboration will also include an in-game event and limited time merchandise. In-game, you can collect KFC points by clearing missions. Once you get enough points, you can exchange them for a KFC outfit for Ifrit. As for real-life merchandise, here are the items you can get from the Yostar store:

• Acrylic badges (nameplate style): 1650 JPY
• Acrylic stands: 1650 JPY each
• Apron: 3500 JPY
• Cutlery set: 4400 JPY
• Luncheon mat set: 2950 JPY
• Miniature container: 4400 JPY each

KFC Japan announced that the restaurant chain is offering two new Spy x Family special menus which include stickers based on the characters. The menus are available for a limited time only and can be ordered through the KFC Net Order browser and mobile app service. [Thanks, Game Watch!]

The Spy x Family Sticker Menu A costs 1,030 yen (or about $6.68,) and it includes 2 original chicken pieces, a biscuit, a medium size drink, and stickers. Meanwhile, the Spy x Family Sticker Menu B costs 850 yen (~$5.51.) Instead of the 2 pieces of original chicken, the Menu B includes a Japanese style chicken katsu burger, and the rest of the items.

There are sticker sets for Anya, Loid, Yor, and Bond Forger, and each set features a logo with the character's name, the character holding a KFC chicken bucket, and a sticker including Anya, Loid, and Yor together. The only character that doesn’t get to hold a chicken bucket is Bond.

This isn’t the first Spy x Family collaboration with a fast-food chain restaurant to appear. Back in September 2023, a collaboration with McDonald’s Japan brought Happy Meal toys based on the anime series. Prior to that, a Burger King collaboration pop-up store opened in Japan for a limited time in November 2022.

Ahead of the crossover event between KFC Japan and Final Fantasy XIV beginning on October 4, 2023, a new promotional video appeared on the KFC Japan official social media . In the video, we can see Colonel Sanders in the game riding a bike with a Chocobo beside him along for the ride. According to the caption, he is delivering the tastiness of fried chicken to all of the Warriors of Light in the world of Final Fantasy XIV.

On the collaboration's official web page, you're greeted with a graphic of a Chocobo and Moogle in KFC uniforms next to the classic Colonel Sanders logo. These illustrations will be used for the stickers that will come with any Final Fantasy XIV Collaboration Set. One Japanese-style chicken cutlet burger, one original chicken, a small french fry, and a medium drink are also pictured with an image of a Chocobo. We can also see the new "eat fried chicken" emote in action.

As a part of the collaboration, a Final Fantasy XIV Collaboration Set will be available to purchase at KFCs in Japan. Customers will get chicken, stickers, and an item code for the “eat fried chicken” in-game emote. It will cost 1,240 yen ($8.36).

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. The KFC Final Fantasy XIV crossover begins October 4, 2023 in Japan.

Hide your Chocobos, as Colonel Sanders has been spotted in Eorzea in a trailer for the KFC and FFXIV collaboration. The trailer, which you can watch on the official KFC Twitter , shows Colonel Sanders standing near La Noscea and staring out at it contemplatively. It looks like Colonel Sanders is a Black Mage too.

“Colonel Sanders is steadily preparing for a new adventure in another world” is the caption for the video. He looks ready as well, as he’s starting to cast Triplecast. There’s not much information on what this collaboration will be. Previous fried chicken related collaborations with Final Fantasy XIV involved real-life food items. However, this KFC trailer seems to imply that something more game-related will come soon.

As of the time of writing, over 30,000 people have Retweeted the trailer and it has accumulated over 35,600 likes. Many people in the replies worry about the future of Eorzea’s Chocobos. Perhaps soon, KFC will no longer stand for Kentucky Fried Chicken and instead, will stand for Kentucky Fried Chocobos.
