While it might not have enjoyed the same success as Bandai Namco’s other anime fighters, Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash is still getting DLC like Choso. The next fighter s the game on November 21, 2024. 

Unlike Kasumi Miwa, who was a free addition back in September 2024, we need to pay for this one. Choso will be a part of the Shibuya Incident DLC for Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash. However, we don’t know exactly how much he will cost. The outfit sets with costumes ranged from $6.99 to $9.99, depending on how many were in the pack. The Hidden Inventory/Premature Death add-on from May 2024 included Toji Fushiguro and student versions of Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto, as well as costumes, a scenario, and other customization items. The roap from May 2024 didn’t cover anything about the Shibuya Incident.

There’s no gameplay trailer for Choso yet or any screenshots, but we do have some idea of how he’ll play in Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash. He’s an attacker who can attack both at short and long ranges. He first debuted during the Death Painting arc of the series alongside his brothers, Eso and Kechizu. (Both are included in the base game.) He can use his blood for his attacks, with his most notable techniques involving Blood Manipulation. Daisuke Namikawa will reprise his role for the game.

Bandai Namco announced that another free character will be released for Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash, and those of us who own the game will get to and use Kasumi Miwa. She’ll debut on September 26, 2024.

There’s no trailer for Kasumi Miwa yet, so we don’t know how she will work in Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash. However, there was an announcement on social media that showed her official art and teased how she’ll work as a fighter. She will use Batto Sword Drawing when she attacks, which is her same Shadow Style from the manga and anime. She’ll mainly fight with her sword, as well as use her New Shadow: Style Simple Domain.

In Jujutsu Kaisen, Kasumi Miwa is one of the Kyoto Jujutsu High characters. She’s in the same year as Maki Zenin’s twin Mai and Kokichi Muta. Quite a few of her fellow students also previously appeared as playable characters in the game as well. Among them are Aoi Todo, Noritoshi Kamo, and Momo Nishimiya. All three of them are third years at the school.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash is available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC. Kasumi Miwa will be available on September 26, 2024.

The Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash Twitter (X) has posted some information on DLC characters and free updates, including playable versions of Gojo and Geto as students. They’re part of the “Hidden Inventory/Premature Death” DLC, which will be paid content.

The Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash DLC characters are Satoru Gojo (Student), Suguru Geto (Student), and Toji Fushiguro. When you purchase the DLC pack, you’ll also get new customization items and playable costumes. One of them is a long-sleeved version of what Toji is wearing now, hiding his big buff arms. The other ones are matching outfits for Gojo and Geto. You’ll also be able to play through the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death scenario. Separate from the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death DLC, there will also be a paid pack for the outfits everyone wore in the first season's first ending.

Even if you don’t purchase the paid DLC, you’ll have access to new characters. The free characters who’ll appear in Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash are Mai Zen’in and Momo Nishimiya. Mai will have an alternate outfit in which she shows her arms. There will also be new customization items and stages. You’ll also be able to fight against the three Hidden Inventory/Premature Death characters in Online Cooperation mode.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and WIndows PC.

Toho Animation announced the release of a new Jujutsu Kaisen special showcase focused on bringing new information about the anime series and the video games based on the show. The broadcast will air on the official Toho Animation YouTube Channel on May 19, 2024 at 8pm JST.

Aside from talking about the Jujutsu Kaisen anime series, the other focus of the special showcase will be the recently released Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash fighting game, as well as the Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade mobile game, which also released on PC in April 2024. Cursed Clash Producer Misaki Kai will appear as one of the guests, alongside anime Season 2 and Phantom Parade producer Tatsuya Oomori.

Neki Matsuzawa will be the host of the broadcast, and Yuichi Nakamura and Takahiro Sakurai, the Japanese voice actors for Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto respectively, will appear as part of the special program to talk about the second season of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime series as well as the aforementioned console and mobile video games.

Siliconera spoke with Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash Producer Misaki Kai to learn more about how characters were picked and gameplay was implemented for this latest take on the series.

Jenni Lada: When did work start on Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash?

Misaki Kai:We have talked with Shueisha, the IP owner, for a while regarding the project, but the development itself took around two and a half years.

How familiar were you with the series before you started working on the game?

Kai: Personally, I was already a fan since it was still serialized in JUMP GIGA. I how happy I was as a fan when it was later serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump.

There are 16 playable characters in Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash. How did you determine who would and wouldn’t make it in for this first fighting game?

Kai: Of course, on top of the main characters like Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki, and Satoru Gojo, we based our selection of the characters to whom have had major roles and battles in the series.

As for Yuta Okkotsu and Suguru Geto, on top of their popularity for their appearances in the movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0, we feel that their unique combat styles would make it even more interesting for players to play, hence our decision to include them into the roster.

How did Byking’s past experience with anime fighting games like My Hero One’s Justice and Ultra Rumble influence Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash?

Kai: For this game, we highly value how the characters are going to be represented in the game, and with Byking’s track record in making captivating character-based action in their previous entries, we believe that they have brought the best out of the Jujutsu Kaisen characters in Cursed Clash.

What kinds of gameplay elements did you include to capture the use of curses from the original series?

Kai: Each character has its own detailed settings and characteristics; therefore, we prepared special gauges for each character that would fit their characters’ traits. Taking that into , indeed it took a little bit of time for us to find and adjust into the right game balance, but we hope that you’ll be able to experience unique fights in every character available in the game. Make sure to try every single one of them!

Which Jujutsu Kaisen character or characters did you want to bring into Cursed Clash, but didn’t make it into the fighting game? What would you like to do with them in a future game if a sequel does end up happening?

Kai: For me… it was Junpei Yoshino.

We mentioned our basis in our character selection in the previous question, but Junpei Yoshino was a very important character for Yuji Itadori, as he has influenced him in his way of life as a Jujutsu Sorcerer. For various reasons, we were not able to implement him in this game.

However, I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to make that battle happen someday.

Bandai Namco revealed that certain versions of Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash will include a variant of RBI Baseball called Jujutsa 2024 and Jujutsu RBI. Only people who get the $79.99 Digital Deluxe or $99.99 Digital Ultimate version of the fighting game. 

This minigame is basically a reskinned version of RBI Baseball for the NES. Players will go through typical games. However, the players will all be characters from Jujutsu Kaisen’s Tokyo and Kyoto Jujutsu High branches. This means their names and their sprites’ appearances will be designed to resemble the familiar faces. 

There’s a trailer offering a hint at how it will look. However, it is also more of a joke one, as it features a moment when Aoi Todo gets hit by a ball and Yuji Itadori runs out to cradle him while everyone else says, “Nice pitch!”

Bandai Namco revealed the last two Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash characters are Suguru Geto and Yuta Okkotsu. There’s also a new trailer showing how both will look in the game.

Yuta first debuted as the star of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 manga and anime. However, since then he’s also become a prominent ing cast member in the main series, especially in later parts of the story. It appears that his character design for the game is based on his earlier appearance, rather than his current one in the series. Meanwhile Suguru Geto is one of the primary antagonists in Jujutsu Kaisen and a former classmate of Satoru Gojo.

Here’s the latest trailer for the Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash. It begins with looking at Yuta. He’ll be able to summon Rika to fight alongside him. At the 30 second mark, Suguru shows up.

Two more Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash characters are confirmed, and they’re Kento Nanami and Mahito. One’s a cursed spirit, while the other is a jujutsu sorcerer who went to school alongside Satoru Gojo.

At the moment, only the Mahito Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash profile is available. It shows the character’s official art, as well as offers some details about how he’ll fight. He’s known for Idle Transfiguration in the series, which lets him use and shape souls, and that will return in the game. He will also have a ive called Essence of the Soul, though that isn’t explained.

There’s more information about Kento Nanami in Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash, including initial screenshots. As in the series, he has the Ratio Technique ability to help create a weakness and deal damage. It appears he’s using it in at least one of the first four screenshots released. He’ll also have the Unbound Cursed Energy ive and wield his distinctive sword. 

Bandai Namco’s been gradually revealing more characters in the roster as time goes by. For example, at the beginning of November 2023 it confirmed Aoi Todo, Hanami, and Jogo would all appear as playable fighters in the game.

The latest Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash characters appeared in a new trailer, and Aoi Todo, Hanami, and Jogo will all be playable. They the established launch roster for the game.

Of the three new fighters, one is a hero and the other two are villains. Aoi is a student at Kyoto Metropolitan Curse Technical College, rather than the Tokyo branch the main characters attend. He’s known for his incredible strength and speed. 

Both Hanami and Jogo are villains. They also worked together during the course of the series. Jogo is known for his speed and his fiery abilities. Hanami is known for plant and earth-based abilities, as well as speed and strength.

A set of cosmetic DLC for Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash will apparently come out after the game’s release. It will feature costumes based on the first ending of the anime. [Thanks, ryokutya2089!]

In total, there will be 32 costumes. This is because there will be outfits for eight playable characters, and each costume will have four color variations. There is no information on the price for the DLC as of yet.

The first ending for the Jujutsu Kaisen anime featured the song “Lost in Paradise feat. AKLO” from the artist, ALI. It shows the characters in various modern fashion as they go about enjoying a day in Tokyo. The art style features bright colors that go over the thick lines, similar to what one might see in a fashion or lifestyle magazine.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash is an console fighting game that’ll feature a playable roster of over fifteen characters. Aside from the main characters, you’ll also be able to play as sorcerers such as Inumaki and Panda. The story will be based on the first season of the anime.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash will come out on February 1, 2024 in Japan for the PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. Bandai Namco revealed the release date for Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash in a new trailer for the game. The anime arena fighter will appear worldwide on February 2, 2024. Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash is an arena fighting game that focuses on 2v2 Cursed Technique Battles with a variety of popular characters from the Jujutsu Kaisen anime and manga series.

In addition, the trailer showcases some of the game’s features, like a story mode that covers the events of the anime from "Cursed Womb Must Die" to "The Origin of Blind Obedience", as well as the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 anime movie prequel. There’s a new Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash gameplay trailer, and this time the characters Maki Zen’in, Panda, and Toge Inumaki are the stars. While the three didn’t appear in the initial launch trailer, all three were rather swiftly confirmed as playable fighters in the game. Bandai Namco’s new footage shows each one in fights.

Things begin with Maki. She was a major character in Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and ing cast member in Jujutsu Kaisen. While she started out as a non-sorcerer, she is a master of cursed weapons and standard fighting. 

After that, the video focuses on Toge. While he primarily uses hand-to-hand fighting, he will used his cursed speech for attacks like Fall, Get Twisted, Stop, and Get Crushed. 

Finally, the Panda portion shows him using hand-to-hand combat. While he looks like a panda, he’s a cursed corpse. At the end of his portion, he unleashes Gorilla Mode Max.

The official social media for Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash posted screenshots introducing Toge Inumaki. He will be one of the playable characters in the console fighting game. Koki Uchiyama will reprise his role as the character.

Inumaki uses fast martial arts and powerful Cursed Speech. His Cursed Speech techniques will attack a large area at once, much like in the show itself. There aren’t any videos or trailers showcasing his moves yet. However, we’ve seen bits and pieces of how Inumaki fights in both the Jujutsu Kaisen show and Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie.

Previous characters that Bandai Namco confirmed for Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash include Yuji, Megumi, Gojo, and Maki. Unlike his peers in the anime, Inumaki appears in fewer scenes showing him engaging in direct combat. This is due to how powerful his Cursed Speech is, and Inumaki has not had many scenes where he fights directly against curses.

Koki Uchiyama voices Inumaki in the show and in Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash. Uchiyama’s previous roles include Meruem in Hunter x Hunter 2011, Roxas in the Kingdom Hearts series, and Idia in Twisted Wonderland.

Bandai Namco offered a better look at five Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash characters in new screenshots. Ten appeared on the Southeast Asia branch's Twitter . Each one also confirmed the original Japanese voice actors for the Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki, Satoru Gojo, and Ryomen Sukuna will appear. These are the latest new details to follow the fighting game’s reveal at Anime Expo 2023.

At the end of its Anime Expo 2023 , Bandai Namco announced it is working on Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash, a 2v2 fighting game based on the anime and manga. There’s no release date for it beyond “coming soon.” However, a first trailer did appear. It also confirmed it will show up on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox, and PC via Steam. That same video also noted creator Gege Akutami wrote an original story for it.

You can see the full Bandai Namco Anime Expo 2023 Summer Showcase below. The trailer for the Jujutsu Kaisen fighting game comes up at about the 46:30 mark. The footage begins with Yuji Itadori expressing his motivations for fighting. We then see him attack Nobara Kugisaki. It then fades back to show that Yuji is fighting alongside Megumi Fushiguro, while Nobara has Satoru Gojo beside her. While only those four playable characters appear in the initial footage, the art at the end also shows Toge Inumaki, Maki Zen’in, Panda, and Ryomen Sukuna.
