InZOI Studio and Krafton have released the system requirements you’ll need to play life simulation game, inZOI. It’s obviously more taxing than The Sims 4 (which InZOI Studio and Krafton do not view as a direct competitor), but time will tell how it fares with mods and extended gameplay time. The minimum system requirements you need to play inZOI are:

• OS: Windows 10/11 64-bit
• Processor: Intel i5 10400/AMD Ryzen 5 3600
• Memory: 12 GB RAM
• Graphics: NVIDIA RTX 2060 (6G VRAM)/AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT (6G VRAM)
• DirectX: Version 12
• Storage: 40 GB

You will also need an Internet connection to play the game. Again, these are the minimum requirements. A more powerful machine will let you see the world of inZOI with much better quality, as well as smoother animations and the like.

As mentioned earlier, inZOI asks more of your machine than The Sims 4, which is the latest entry in the genre-defining series. However, The Sims tends to falter after long game sessions and mods due to poor optimization. We will have to wait until the finished product comes out to see if inZOI will have a similar issue. The higher minimum specs do mean that players with much weaker machines cannot play this game, which may present another problem in its own right.

inZOI will enter early access on March 28, 2025 for the Windows PC. It will also come out for the PS5 and Xbox Series X at a later date.

During the Gamescom 2024 showcase, Krafton showed off the company's next project inZOI. As a reminder, this is the studio behind such games as the MMORPG Tera and battle royale PUBG. This game is a life simulation like The Sims, in which players can create people and set them about their tasks, seeing where their tendencies and player interaction can take their lives.

As part of the announcement, Krafton announced that Steam players will be able to get a demo of the Character Studio to see the detailed character customization up close. This opportunity is a limited time offer, running until August 26, 2024. These characters you can create, called Zois, can be customized from appearance, age range and body type. There will also be numerous accessories for players to choose from.

In addition to customizing Zois of your very own, players will also be able to see the range of Zois created by other players during this trial period, so interested players can see the possibilities the system offers.

inZOI will be available on PC through the Steam store, but there's no release date yet. The Character Studio trial will be available on Steam until August 26, 2024.

For reference, inZOI is an life simulator similar to The Sims. The graphics compared to The Sims 4 are far more realistic. According to the Steam page, it will be closer to The Sims 3, as it will also be simulating the community around you. This can create more unpredictability in your gameplay, much like the second and third Sims games. You will be able to edit the neighborhood your character lives in too.

We can see that you can edit the background, versus how you had to use mods to change up the look. There is also an in-studio picture mode in which you can pose your character (Zoi). You’ll choose from templates and parts in order to create a Zoi, compared to the push-and-pull method in The Sims 4.

Much of this article references The Sims, which had a chokehold on the life simulation genre for decades. inZOI and potentially Paralives are on the horizon to offer players some more options though. Paradox Interactive’s Life by You was also a contender, but the company canceled the game in June 2024.

inZOI is in development for the Windows PC and the character studio will be available as a demo from August 21 to August 26, 2024.
