Alongside the launch of 1.5, Infold announced an Infinity Nikki Twitch Drops event with five different types of rewards. How many you get is based on how long you watch streams of the game between now and May 19, 2025. However, the free Diamonds earned aren’t enough for even a single pull on an outfit banner.

To start, we need to link our Infinity Nikki Infold and Twitch to earn the drops. This can be done on the official site. The official Drops and Rewards All Campaigns page also lists it in there. Once you’re all linked up, you just need to head to the category for the game on Twitch. Watching any of those streams with drops enabled will count toward earning the five rewards. Once you watch for 90 minutes, you can claim the items from your page to get them in-game.

Here’s the full list of all the Twitch Drops available. Note that in-game, a pull on an Infinity Nikki banner costs 120 Diamonds, and this event only lets you earn 30 total.

 • Watch an applicable stream for 15 mins – 10 Diamonds.
 • Watch for 30 minutes – 20 Diamonds.
 • Watch for 45 minutes – 20,000 Bling.
 • Watch for an hour – 100 Threads of Purity.
 • Watch for an hour and a half – 100 Shining Particles.

While this isn’t enough for a single pull, you can get the equivalent of 30 pulls as an apology for 1.5 issues for free.

Infinity Nikki is available for the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the Twitch Drops event is live until May 19, 2025.

Infold Apologized for 1.5 Infinity Nikki Bugs and PS5 Issues

When the 1.5 Infinity Nikki update launched on April 29, 2025, it also brought with it a number of bugs and gameplay issues for the PS5, PC, and mobile versions of the game. Now Infold Games issued an apology for the problems on social media. In it, it detailed things that have and haven’t been fixed yet. It also announced it will send an apology gift to all Infinity Nikki players to everyone for the negative experience.

First, everyone is getting Diamond currency and crystals for both the standard and limited banners in Infinity Nikki to make up for the bugs and issues on the PS5, PC, and mobile devices after 1.5. We get 1,200 Diamonds, which is enough for a full 10-pull. We also get 10 Revelation Crystals and 10 Resonite Crystals, which give you 10 pulls on the always-available banner and limited one. You will need to update the game and to it, then claim the apology bundle from your in-game mailbox, to take advantage of the reward.

As for the problems, Infold mentioned four are fixed. In one case, people couldn’t play after updating due to an “initialization failed, please restart the game” message. That’s fixed and people can to the game. The Color Lookbook now also shows Perfect Start correctly, and Flowing Colors’ Floral Dreamscape always shows in the correct category. The Heart of Infinity UI also works properly again.

There are also nine problems that Infold Games is still working on. Here’s the full list from the announcement:

 1. Resolution setting issues.
 2. Material and lighting display issues in areas such as Sea of Stars, Serenity Island, and Land with No Name.
 3. Interaction smoothness and interruption issues across mobile, PC, and PS5 platforms.
 4. Frequent startup errors on the PS5 platform.
 5. Issues that may block stylists during quest progression, such as abnormal black screens that may occur during cutscene playback in the new exclusive quests.
 6. Performance and experience issues in multiplayer gameplay.
 7. Interaction and sharing experience issues in the DIY Workshop and Color Lookbook.
 8. Ongoing optimization of the performance and visual effects of the outfits [Snowy Ballad] and [Crimson Feather].
 9. Abnormal material rendering for the [Bubbly Bath] decoration on specific devices.

Infinity Nikki is available on the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the apology gift from Infold Games for the bugs and issues in 1.5 will be sent out to players' mailboxes.

Infinity Nikki Times Square Event Starting

Infold Game announced it is taking Infinity Nikki to Times Square in New York City, New York. Billboards will appear there on certain days, with the first one debuting on April 16, 2025. There will also be contests tied to the promotional materials, with opportunities for people on location and online to win themed merchandise based on the game.

The Infinity Nikki billboards will show up as part of the lead up to the 1.5 update that will add new banners, events, story quests, and Steam . The billboards will appear over three different periods. Here are the dates when those will show up, so if you visit you can possibly see the game’s latest ads.

 • Phase 1: April 16-19, 2025
 • Phase 2: April 25-27, 2025
 • Phase 3: April 29, 2025

As for the contest, there are two parts and both involve getting a “cozy blanket” with art from the game on it. The offline one is already in effect. If people retweet the tweet about the event on social media and follow the , they could be one of the folks picked for the blanket. 10 winners will be picked for that part.

With the in-person portion, that applies to actually seeing the ad. If you do, then take a photo of certain Easter egg items when they appear, and share it on X with the hashtag #InfinityNikkiTimesSquare. Infold will pick another 10 people to get those blankets. Between the April 16-19, 2025 period, people will need to keep an eye out for Momo’s Cloak: Infinity Shining. During the April 25-29, 2025 period, the key item to photograph is the Whimstar.

Infinity Nikki is available for the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and we will see the Times Square, New York City event kick off on April 16, 2025.

Infinity Nikki PC Steam Release Date Set

Right now, if you want to play Infinity Nikki on a PC, you need to go through the official site or Epic Games Store, but now the Steam release date is set. While the product page didn’t update yet, that version will launch on April 29, 2025. Infold Games also announced a number of rewards to celebrate the launch.

Basically, everyone is getting Resonite Crystals and Energy Crystals, though the official image on social media also shows the image for the Blings currency used to buy from in-game stores and upgrade outfits. Infold noted that everyone, regardless of platform, will get 10 Resonite Crystals and 3 Energy Crystals. The former allows you to pull on the standard banner, with each one granting a single pull. The Energy Crystals restore Vital Energy when used, allowing you extra opportunities to go through Realm Challenges.

As a reminder, the past rewards already came and went. They included things like a live wallpaper and it seems like an outfit.

Here's the full wishlists reward tiers image:

Infinity Nikki Getting a New Event Map, Control Options

Infold Games announced some of the new elements we can expect in future updates for Infinity Nikki, and these include a new event map, general updates, and a new control customization option. The 1.4 update is expected to arrive via a patch on March 25, 2025, and the new event map arrives in 1.5.

Some of the updates will show up sooner than others, and that includes some of the ones related to the Infinity Nikki map. Currently, you don’t see Warp Spires you didn’t find on it. After a future update, the ones you haven’t activated will appear so you can better reach all of these fast travel points. Existing map markers for items already highlighted, like shops and minigames, will feature more details about exactly what is at that point. So it’ll be easier to head to the exact place you want or need to.

In the case of the new event map in Infinity Nikki, that will be called Serenity Island. It will show up in 1.5 as part of a new activity. Like Firework Isles, which appeared in the 1.2 patch, there will be new places to check out, more fast travel points, extra quests tied to the location, and unspecified “Rewards.”

As for the new control customization options in Infinity Nikki, two specific ones were teased. One will involve the ability to invert X and Y axes. The other will allow someone who is playing on a computer to more easily switch between using a controller and a keyboard with mouse. Infold described that new shift as “seamless.”

A few other adjustments also came up. Momo’s Camera will vehicle photos and new poses. Some of those will be able to be bought in-game from a new NPC called Camera Modifications Merchant Leila. The Pear Pal cards will let people show off outfits. The Compendium will also make it easier to track outfits you haven’t completed yet. There will also be a creature compendium to help keep track of Esseling enemies and animals. Finally, general mobile optimizations are confirmed.

Infinity Nikki is available for the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the 1.4 update is expected to arrive on March 25, 2025.

3 Free Outfits Debut in Infinity Nikki 1.3 Event

Infold Games announced that it will once again run an event in Infinity Nikki that doles out three free outfits, and we’ll see it start the second the 1.3 update arrives. These are called Dream in Glimpses, Jade Dreams, and The Perfectionist. Things kick off on February 25, 2025. You only have until March 25, 2025 to get all of them.

Like the last free outfit giveaway, this is tied to an Infinity Nikki event. In order to claim them, you basically need to for a few days. Each day, you’ll get one. Dream in Glimpses is the one four-star option. You get two copies of it, so you can then head into your Pear Pad menu and evolve one to get Dream in Glimpses: Sweetness.

Here’s how the two Dream in Glimpses outfits look:

Jade Dreams and The Perfectionist are our free three-star outfits this time. Both don’t have an evolved option. Both feature multiple parts and accessories like purses.

You can see how those look below:

This is the second Infinity Nikki update in a row with three free outfits guaranteed, as 1.3 is following in the footsteps of 1.2. People could get Pink Bunny, Radiant Night, and Sunlit Grasspom. Radiant Night was the only four-star one in the batch. That one could be claimed twice so we could all evolve it, just like Dream in Glimpses and its Dream in Glimpses: Sweetness variant.

Infinity Nikki is available for the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the 1.3 update arrives on February 25, 2025.

Infinity Nikki coming soon to Steam

Infold Games has opened a new Steam page for Infinity Nikki. It confirmed that PC players who prefer to use the platform will be eventually able to and access the open-world game there.

The Steam version will have the same language and spec requirements as the existing PC releases via Epic Games Store and a standalone installer. The game contains voiceovers in English, Japanese, and Chinese, with additional subtitles in French, Italian, German, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Korean, Thai, and Indonesian.

The PC version requires a minimum OS of Windows 10 22H2 with DirectX 12, as well as 16GB of RAM and 50GB of free storage space. For optimal graphics and gameplay performance, Infold Games recommends a Core i7-6700 or Ryzen 5 2600 for the processor and an RTX 2060, RTX 3050 Laptop, Radeon RX 5700 XT, or Arc A580 as the graphics card.

Infold Games has also published a new campaign that involves fans wishlisting the Steam release. The company will publish a live wallpaper and concept art when it has reached 10,000 and 50,000 wishlists, respectively. It also teases more surprises when it could reach 100,000 and 200,000 wishlists.

The Steam version of Infinity Nikki is "coming soon." The same game is also readily available on PC via Epic Games Store and a standalone installer. In addition to PCs, Infinity Nikki has also been available on PlayStation 5, as well as iOS and Android devices since December 5, 2024.

New Infinity Nikki Outfits Change When Gathering Materials

Infold Games shared looks at and details about Verdant Melodies and Whispers of Bliss, the two new Infinity Nikki outfits appearing on 1.2 banners. Both of them will debut on February 13, 2025. Each one, when complete, triggers unique appearances when a player wears the entire set and gathers certain types of materials in the world.

Both of the new Infinity Nikki outfits are four-star ones, and each one has an evolved option if you manage to get a duplicate set. When equipped with the whole outfit, that’s when you can trigger the special animations. With Verdant Melodies, the trigger is collecting certain types of flowers. If you have the outfit on and get Hare Powder, Rainy Orchids, or Sunny Orchids, the bouquet of flowers Nikki holds will change to match the item you just collected. In the case of Whispers of Bliss, you’ll want to watch the picnic basket. It changes when you get Buttoncones, Lampchilis, Seed Pearls, or Woolfruit from plants and trees in the wild. In addition, that outfit also changes what Nikki’s pose looks like whenever you take photos and she’s on a picnic blanket, as the foods she “brought” and her basket will appear with her.

Here are the official screenshots for the two outfits and the evolved color options:

There are also YouTube Shorts for each of them. Here’s the Verdant Melodies one:

And here’s the Whispers of Bliss video:

Infinity Nikki is available on the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the Verdant Melodies and Whispers of Bliss new outfits will be on banners between February 13-25, 2025.

Infold will give us a chance to claim three free Infinity Nikki outfits after the 1.2 update is live in the game this week.

Infold Games announced we can get three free Infinity Nikki outfits as part of a Heartfelt Gifts promotion after the 1.2 update to the free-to-play game. However, the way it works out, you can actually get one of the two twice, in order to evolve it, making it almost like getting four new costumes. This all kicks off on January 23, 2025.

The three free outfits coming to Infinity Nikki in 1.2 are called Pink Bunny, Radiant Night, and Sunlit Grasspom. Radiant Night is the four-star option. It can be claimed twice, in case someone wants to evolve it to the Radiant Night: Forest option. None of them are five-stars, which are typically reserved for the gacha banners and Miracle Outfits. They'll be able to be claimed one-per-day between January 23, 2025 and February 25, 2025.

Here’s the official trailer showing Nikki modeling all three outfits. It specifically highlights different parts, such as the bags and hair accessories.

There are also official images showing off all three free Infinity Nikki outfits in 1.2, as well as comparing what Radiant Night looks like in its standard and Forest options.

Infinity Nikki Is a Fashion Extravaganza

It's been years since the incarnation the Nikki series started with the mobile game Nikki UP2U, and although Infold cultivated a dedicated fanbase with the fashion anime-inspired titles, it never quite reached mainstream appeal. Each installment always entailed very linear gameplay, which is not inherently bad per se! But unless you're a massive fan of dres, there was not much else to do. That all changed with Infinity Nikki, as Infold went in a bold new direction and embraced an open-world environment that gives you so much freedom that it ironically turns one of its former weaknesses into its biggest strength.

There is so much to unpack with Infinity Nikki, but the story is a good place to start. For some background, this is technically a sequel to the previous title in the series Shining Nikki. However, if you've never experienced the series up to this point, no prior knowledge is needed to play. It is in an ideal position for newcomers. The story follows the pink-haired protagonist Nikki and her BBQ-fanatic feline companion Momo as they venture into the attic searching for the perfect outfit for an ball. While rummaging through the loft, they discover a gorgeous red dress hidden in the closet. Suddenly, before they can do anything, a mysterious force pulls them into a different world. They find themselves in an abandoned ruin. After wandering around the grounds, Nikki and Momo encounter a mysterious woman called the curator, who gives Nikki the Infinity Heart, an object that bestows special powers upon outfits. The curator then tasks Nikki with finding the Miracle Outfits in order to save the world.

The entire narrative encapsulates the feeling of an upbeat Studio Ghibli movie. Sure, there are a few cheesy scenes, but they add to the delightful and charming tone the game tries to achieve. I found it impossible not to have a goofy smile plastered across my face. Overall, the story is very enduring and kept my interest throughout. Nikki and Momo's dynamic is also downright adorable. It strangely reminds me a lot of Sakura and Kero from Cardcaptor Sakura. Of course, there are fundamental differences between the two, but the heroine is always the optimist, trying her best to help others, whereas the anamorphic animal companion has a sassy attitude and would have a good stab at trying to win an eating competition.

Infinity Nikki harbors a fantastic open world, and this is probably thanks to the Director Kentaro Tominaga, who previously worked on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It seamlessly blends fashion and RPG elements, almost like they are destined to go together like cereal and milk. In fact, the fashion elements can be seen in nearly every aspect of the gameplay, which is rather impressive. The most notable way this can be witnessed is by the outfits tied unique abilities unlocked via the Infinity Heart. Some of these powers will help you navigate the open-world environment, like floating in the air or purifying enemies (which is where you let out a blast to attack an enemy). This means every time you use a power, your outfit will momentarily change, which creates strong and distinctive imagery.

Other garments crafted by the Infinity Heart will allow you to participate in activities like fishing, catching bugs, and grooming animals. The resources you collect from these actions allow you to create new outfits and items, which will help you progress through the story. Think of it like Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley. As you can imagine, this inevitably leads to many detours, but there is a nice flow between the storyline and gameplay that adds a novel brevity to these tasks. Honestly, collecting the materials for the outfits was probably my favourite part of the experience, as there was a cathartic repetition to it all.

Whether you're traversing the land or gathering resources, the core gameplay loop is downright fun. I can firsthand attest that it is easy to quickly lose track of time. One thing that is worth mentioning is some of the combat and platforming are super straightforward and, dare I say, easy. But on this occasion, this is not (entirely) a bad word. Infinity Nikki is clearly trying to attract a more casual audience, maybe individuals who are not traditionally into gaming, and this ties into the free-to-play model. Anyone can give it a go without any commitment or major barriers. Naturally, Infold is hoping to entice you with the paid gacha content later down the line. But if you put that to one side, Infinity Nikki nails this delicate line, and I would even go as far as to say that it would be an excellent first video game for someone.

The story in Infinity Nikki is divided into eight chapters so far, each featuring an array of quests to complete. You begin your fashionista journey in the charming town of Florawish, a picturesque and rustic settlement surrounded by lush greenery. After exploring the town, you can spread your wings and traverse the land. The real fun of exploring begins here, as the world is surprisingly vast. Just like the beautiful outfits, the landscapes are truly stunning. Some areas will be temporarily locked until you progress further in the story, but there is still a wealth of treasures for you to uncover and a strong incentive to explore, as you never know what you might discover. There is so much to do, like helping the locals, riding hot air balloons, and competing in fashion competitions, which are almost like mini dance-offs. You can easily get distracted from the main story and find yourself meandering through the world for several hours.

Screenshot by Siliconera

The fashion also helps you feel interconnected with the protagonist, as you can choose what clothes Nikki wears and customize her appearance. This can range from the basics like t-shirts, dresses and shoes. But you can also edit minor details, like your desired hairstyle, bag or hand accessories, and skin color. It really does provide the ultimate window shopping experience, allowing you to browse the countless clothes you have collected and envision the ultimate outfit—all without running between different department stores. However, while many clothes are available to craft with the right resources, some are locked behind a gacha paywall. This means you can only obtain them through draws.

Now, it's important to point out that you can complete the game without engaging with the gacha. The primary advantage you will have by participating in the draws (besides having a more extravagant outfit) is you will gain clothes with higher stats much more quickly, which is helpful when facing challengers. If you're determined to get your dream outfit from behind one of the fashion-themed banners, then the harsh reality is you're going to have to part with some of your hard-earned cash or really grind events to earn the Diamond currency and save up. The good news is Infinity Nikki is far more generous with its probability odds than other gacha games. If you pull a duplicate item, you will receive some currency back, which you can reuse for future draws.

Usually, I wouldn't bring up a photo mode in a review. But oh my, I spent so much time taking photos on my adventure that I'm considering adding photography to my CV. Infold knows one of the Infinity Nikki strengths is the strong aesthetics, and the photo mode encourages you to spend even more time collecting clothes and traveling the world to find the perfect outfit and backdrop. The graphics beautifully bring this out as well, as everything is so visually appealing. Only on a handful of occasions did I suffer any latency issues on the PS5, but this was primarily during the first few days of its release. The music was another aspect I liked, as it's so elegantly crafted and reflects the story's highs and lows exceptionally well. But hands down, the best song by far is the English theme song, "Together Till Infinity," performed by the renowned artist Jessie J. The powerful vocals create such an uplifting mood that I hummed along every time I started the game.

Infinity Nikki is part of a long legacy of games where fashion is a central part of the experience, and because of this, it may initially come across as it would only appeal to the "girly-pops." But beneath this facade lies an innovative, open-world experience that anyone who enjoys a lighthearted adventure can get behind. It gives you so much freedom that you will spend a lot of your time seeing what the world has to offer. Infinity Nikki completely blew away my expectations out of the water, and it's worth checking out, especially when you consider the game is free-to-play.

Infinity Nikki is now available for the PS5, PC, and mobile devices.

New Infinity Nikki Pink Ribbon Waltz, Daughter of the Lake Banners Debut

Infold added two new banners to Infinity Nikki that give us a chance to get the “Sweet” outfit Pink Ribbon Waltz and “Sexy” costume Daughter of the Lake. Both are tied to the Pink Ribbon Eel event that’s been happening in the game throughout January 2025. To pull, people need to use Diamonds.

Both of these outfit have an effect tied to them to highlight the connection to Ribbon Eels, the type of eel present in some bodies of water in the game. This means if you get the full outfit from the banner, then put it on Nikki and make her walk over to water or go out in the rain, shimmering scales will appear on her arms.

The YouTube Shorts videos for each show the effects on both costumes, as well as the nautical elements on both of the new outfits from the Infinity Nikki banners. First, here’s how Pink Ribbon Waltz looks and its scales effect:

Next, here’s a closer look at Daughter of the Lake.

If you manage to get extras of these outfits, they can be evolved. Infold Games showed how the alternate versions of the designs look in-game when sharing initial screenshots of the clothing.

There are also bonuses for pulling on each of these banners. You get additional five-star items and other accessories for hitting milestones like pulling five times or fifteen times, for example. As these are two separate banners, it means you need to go through both multiple times to unlock everything.

Infinity Nikki is available for the PS5, PC, and mobile devices, and the new Pink Ribbon Waltz outfit and Daughter of the Lake banners are both available until January 21, 2025.

Sony Grid Scent Being Used With Infinity Nikki

Various Sony Stores throughout Japan are currently holding a new collaboration with the popular action-adventure game Infinity Nikki featuring Sony’s Grid Scent. The Grid Scent will allow players to experience floral and forest scents inspired by the environments of the world of the game.

The collaboration will be available until February 3, 2025 at the Ginza (Tokyo,) Sapporo, Nagoya, Osaka, and Fukuoka Tenjin Sony stores. As part of the event, the stores will also be decorated with Infinity Nikki ornaments, and will offer trials of the PS5 version of the game. The Grid Scent experience will be offered via a demo video of Infinity Nikki, and will not be available during gameplay.

The Grid Scent is a new prototype technology being tested and developed by Sony with its Tensor Valve odorant control technology. The system allows people to experience digital spatial aromatherapy while engaging in other activities, such as gaming. Infinity Nikki is an action-adventure game with dress-up elements. It is the fifth title in the series and the first open-world entry.

As a reminder, developer Infold Games recently revealed some of the changes and quality of life additions that are planned for Infinity Nikki.

Infinity Nikki is available on the PS5, PC, and mobile Android and Apple iOS devices.

Infinity Nikki Updates Improve Whimcycle Controls, Photo Mode

Infold Games announced some of the quality of life changes and updates coming to Infinity Nikki and, in addition to a number of mobile improvements for those on Android and Apple iOS devices, there will be new Whimcycle controls and Photo Mode additions. All of the changes are in-progress, so there are no exact release dates or windows yet. The developer also opened up a survey for people to submit additional about other things they’d like to see.

In the case of the Whimcycle controls, Infold Games said there will be two types of controls for it in Infinity Nikki eventually. It specifically referenced this as being a response to trying to ride it on a mobile device. When added, someone will be able to switch between only using a joystick to ride or using a joystick and a button. It also noted the Whimcycle will be available in more areas as a vehicle and it will respawn if it enters water.

In the case of Photo Mode, there will be a number of additions and changes in Infinity Nikki. Right now, only landscape, horizontal photos are available as an option. After an update, you’ll be able to also select a vertical portrait option. Momo will get more involved, as you can use the Shrinking ability or include the mascot in the picture.

As mentioned earlier, there will also be a number of Infinity Nikki updates and changes to ensure the mobile versions are more enjoyable to play for Android and iOS folks. Here’s a list of things we’ll see adjusted in future patches:

 • 60fps mobile framerate option
 • Huawei/Honor device compatibility and performance improvements
 • Purifying Orb aiming will be improved

When it comes to more general updates for all or other platforms, here’s a list of things we can expect in the future.

 • Custom PC key binding and customization will appear
 • Esseling tracking will be added
 • Improved tutorials
 • Materials refresh at 4am server time
 • Mini-map tracking will improve
 • Styling Challenge outfit recommendations

Infinity Nikki is available on the PS5, PC, and mobile Android and Apple iOS devices.

Infinity Nikki Needs Sanrio and Disney Event Collaborations in 2025 46344c https://siliconera.voiranime.info/infinity-nikki-needs-sanrio-and-disney-event-collaborations-in-2025/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=infinity-nikki-needs-sanrio-and-disney-event-collaborations-in-2025 https://siliconera.voiranime.info/infinity-nikki-needs-sanrio-and-disney-event-collaborations-in-2025/#respond <![CDATA[Cody Perez]]> Thu, 26 Dec 2024 23:00:00 +0000 <![CDATA[Android]]> <![CDATA[Featured]]> <![CDATA[iOS]]> <![CDATA[PC]]> <![CDATA[PlayStation 5]]> <![CDATA[Europe]]> <![CDATA[Infinity Nikki]]> <![CDATA[Infold Games]]> <![CDATA[Japan]]> <![CDATA[North America]]> <![CDATA[Playtests]]> https://siliconera.voiranime.info/?p=1070933 <![CDATA[

With the launch of Infinity Nikki in late 2024, it is now time to look ahead at what’s next for the free-to-play gacha game in 2025. If Love Nikki and other past games are anything to go off of, event collaborations are likely to happen at some point. The best scenario for Infinity Nikki would be event collaborations and crossovers with Sanrio and Disney in 2025.

As of the time of writing, Infinity Nikki already has a whopping 20 million s and counting. That is quite impressive for a game to accomplish in less than a month. It is imperative that Infold Games takes advantage of this massive player base across mobile, console, and PC sooner rather than later. After all, players move on from games quite fast.

One of the key features of Love Nikki from my brief time with it was the event collaborations. There were some excellent Disney crossovers that saw fantastic dresses show up in the game based on popular princesses like Cinderella, Ariel, and more. These not only looked incredible within the 2D experience, but they boosted further interest in the mobile game.

A similar situation could happen with Infinity Nikki if it had its own event collaborations. Disney is a must for sure, as there are just too many great possibilities for outfits, but this time in 3D. I’d, personally, love to see additions of characters like Rapunzel from Tangled, Moana, and Mulan.

Players, including myself, would absolutely be willing to shell out some hard-earned cash for these official Disney outfits in-game. Some of them would even make sense for the various abilities that the outfits have in this open-world title. For instance, Rapunzel’s dress might be a gliding dress and be available when leaping around. Or a Snow White dress might be great for grooming animals.

Beyond Disney, I’d also like to see a Sanrio collaboration in Infinity Nikki. The possibilities here are almost limitless. It would require a bit more creativity to make dresses and outfits work for human characters, rather than anthropomorphic creatures, but it would be worth the effort.

Just think of all the Sanrio characters having outfits in this title. You could get a simple dress and hair bow similar to what Hello Kitty has. Or you could get an intricate black outfit with skulls using Kuromi’s style for inspiration. I, personally, would be the first in the world to purchase a cute blue and white outfit based on Cinnamoroll.

There are a couple of ways these Infinity Nikki event collaborations with Disney and Sanrio could work. For one, the outfits could appear in the in-game shop. This would require players to actually spend real-world currency for the Stellarites to get them. But it would be nice if one or two outfits appeared in an event banner.

There would be so much room for additional items as well. How about a cloak for Momo that makes him look like My Melody? You could get this cloak through a Mira Journey or for pulling so many times on the event banner. The potential is just incredible, especially from a business perspective for Infold Games. If the developer wants to maximize the possibilities for Infinity Nikki, it is my hope we get monumental event crossovers with Disney, Sanrio, and more in the future.

When I look back at 2024, I see a ton of games that appealed directly to me. From so many JRPGs, like Metaphor: ReFantazio, to remakes like FFVII Rebirth and Persona 3 Reload, I had a lot to look forward to, then enjoy. But in the end, one of the best games of 2024 for me, happens to be the last-minute release Infinity Nikki.

There’s no denying 2024 is one of the most incredible years in gaming recently. Especially for people interested in Japanese titles. This year was all about JRPGs and games in existing franchises. However, in some ways it also ended up being a disappointing one until Infinity Nikki came along. Even with so many excellent titles that I enjoyed, almost every one also disappointed me in small or surprising ways.

Screenshot by Siliconera

I could go through and name all of the major flaws that held back nearly every single one of my favorite titles. FFVII Rebirth, for instance, is a near masterpiece in every category… except when it comes to its ending. That moment is a small part of the overall experience, but its confusing and awkward execution did nothing but leave such a sour taste in my mouth. The same goes for the entire second half of Metaphor: ReFantazio. Despite its unmatched gameplay and style, it faltered.

Then there is Trails through Daybreak, which feels a bit too short. It is great, but I feel it is the weakest of the first entries in the four sub-series of that franchise thus far. FFXIV Dawntrail is the continuation of an MMORPG that should’ve ended with Endwalker. It went beyond my expectations, but still ultimately felt unnecessary. The list goes on and on.

Only one game stands tall from start to finish as my most impeccable experience this year, and that is surprisingly Infinity Nikki. This is the most pure gaming fun I’ve had with an experience outside of a Nintendo game like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The open-world is a true joy to explore. There are so many puzzles, minigames, and even light combat scenarios around every corner. There is something to see and do every few feet in Miraland.

Then there is the dress-up aspect, which is the best you’ll find in any game period. The level of gorgeous detail in each outfit, from the smallest accessories to the most extravagant gowns, is on a level no game will come close to reaching in the future. It unlocked this side of me I never knew existed that loves cosmetics and making my character look perfect. And the most hilarious part is I am not the general target audience for this experience, either.

Screenshot by Siliconera

Beyond all that, there is the story, which is perhaps the most shocking part of Infinity Nikki. The writing here is far and away better than most games I’ve played this year. The plot goes in some dark and twisted directions I didn’t expect, with some great twists popping up along the way. There are also some memorable characters like Raggy and Giovanni, that will go up there with some of my all-time favorite gaming characters like Goro Akechi from Persona 5. Sure, Infold does rush the story a bit too much near the end of the portion available in 2024, but even this flaw feels minuscule compared to everything else I played this year.

Overall, Infinity Nikki is the best game I have played from start to finish in 2024, despite being free-to-play. The monetization is great, too, allowing you to play the entire base story without paying a dime if you don’t want to. It is a true shame it came out so late in the year, so you won’t likely see it in the overall Siliconera awards or the like. From the dress-up aspects to the remarkably designed open-world to minigames to the unforgettable characters, every single part is masterfully crafted. Even if it doesn’t seem like your cup of tea, I recommend everyone to check out my Game of the Year 2024.

Infinity Nikki is available right now for free on Android and iOS devices, the PS5, and PCs.
